Paul S. Philippou is a teacher and historian living in Perth. He has worked at Dundee and Stirling Universities and for The Open University. His first book, Spanish Thermopylae: Cypriot Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39, was published in March 2009 by Warren & Pell.

Any enjoyable wee book written locally by authors who have a keen interest in the military history of Perthshire. There are a number of small typos and errors of fact, but that does not detract from enjoyment of the book.
