This was an excellent book. A group of us studied this book, doing one discipline a week. We took over a year to go through the book but it was worth it. This is the second Cindy Trimm book we have done. We do the 40 Day Soul Fast the same way. On 9/11 we will begin our next book, The Prosperous Soul.
I was able to develop skills that I could implement and recognize what was going on in my soul/IT helped me to walk in my potential. Being able to recognize destructive relationships and break free from them was transforming. As believers, we can sometimes feel that we have to like everyone. While that would be great it's not what Jesus commanded. He told us to love and that others would know we were His disciples because of our love. Even Jesus left town, shaking the dust off of His sandals and moving on where He could do miracles.
I can recognize unhealthy emotional attachments and avoid them or walk away from them, which I have successfully done.
The book helps you to focus on your potential and reminds you not to give your power to others.
I recommend this book and suggest you study it with a group to get the most out of it. Our weekly group discussions were pivotal to walking in the fullness of the truths in this book. I loved how it is laced with the Word of God. So we were getting lessons straight from the Word and not just Cindy's opinions.
I loved the book Reclaim your Soul because it is very thought provoking. At first glance it can be overwhelming because it is "deep", but once you read it again, it makes sense. Ms. Trimm first helps you to identify how you are wired, Gods design for you and how you can change to be the person God created you to be. She helps you identify the unhealthy soul ties and relationships in your life, helps you break the cycle and then helps you rebuild and reclaim your soul. Her goal is to empower you to be the person God created: Successful, resilient and powerful!

Successful people are resilient people. The key to resiliency is learning how to reclaim your soul each and every day!
The Dictionary defines resilient as, “able to become strong, healthy, or successful again after something bad happens” and “able to return to an original shape after being pulled, stretched, pressed, bent”. Think of a trampoline. It is stretched tight-that is its shape. Then someone jumps on it. It bulges down then snaps back to its original shape as it ejects the person that jumped on it. In two parts: Part One: The Power That Works In You and Part Two: The Road To Resiliency: 40 Disciplines Of A Resilient Person Cindy Trimm explores what we were meant to be and the power we have to become that person and gives us eight weeks of training to become resilient. This is an excellent resource to clear ourselves of the junk that the world throws at us as to who and what we are. It is time we embraced the real truth and ejected all the debris that is cluttering our lives. ”Reclaiming Your Soul” is the book for us that we can refer to over and over again.

Reclaim Your Soul – Your Journey to Personal Empowerment- is the second installment in the “Soul Series” penned by this author. This book focuses on reclaiming our soul from destructive and unhealthy “soul ties” we have adopted in the past, by daily building a new set of life skills that empower new habits and behaviors. These new habits and behaviors help us to create a foundation for living the life of your dreams by the renewing of your mind.
This book is divided into two parts. Part 1 “The Power That Works In You” describes God’s Plan A, You by Divine Design and the Power To Change. Part 2 – “The Road to Resiliency: 40 Disciples of a Resilient Person: is an eight week study on confronting our Natural, Emotional, Relational Soul Ties and Dysfunctional Relationships. Once confronted, we begin to Break the Cycle and Build New Boundaries. The study concludes with Encountering Christ and Reclaiming Your Soul.
While this book does rely, and stand, on Biblical Scriptures, the author does mix quotes and thinking from New Age Guru’s, Thinkers and Philosophers. To me, that was at times confusing and I found it unsettling.
This book contains a significant amount of information that could be overwhelming– depending on your perception of the condition of your soul – (in my opinion) and might require a second or third read to absorb all that it contains.

Reclaim Your Soul By: Cindy Trimm A re This is book two. The first was The 40 Day Soul Fast which focused on 40 characteristics of an authentic person. This one is Reclaim Your Soul. This one will focus on 40 behaviors of a resilient person. The goal in this book is to learn how to reclaim your soul each and everyday. This book goes through eight weeks and 40 disciplines of a resilient person. What I liked about the book is all the scripture in each chapter to help back the point being made. We are responsible for ourselves. The decisions we make in life are what develop us in to what we are. We make and choose our own path. Each chapter starts with scripture then discusses the discipline. Then there is a Power Point and power thought. One discipline is on forgiveness. I think this one is a hard one for a lot of people. God says we shouldn’t hold hardness in our hearts. Forgive = forget. Don’t say I forgive you then say but I won’t forget it. Because you are still not totally forgiving. There are many subjects Cindy goes over in this book. Cindy done a great job writing this book and keeping it to what the scriptures say about each of these 40 disciplines. This would make a great group study book.
Reclaim Your Soul is the first of Cindy Trimm’s books that I’ve read and I was pleasantly surprised. It has a wealth of knowledge about examining personal behaviors and relationships. She offers an informational section and a 40 day progressive plan to move toward a healthy, godly life. I really enjoyed the way Ms. Trimm uses biblical insight, scripture and quotes from a variety of people throughout the book to establish her views. The 40 day plan is not lengthy and convoluted so it can be realistically accomplished. Each day offers a section to work on (i.e. Pursue a Renewed Mind) along with a Power Point and a Power Thought. The Power Points offer practical methods that a person can implement throughout the study. In addition, Ms. Trimm utilizes quotes from various people in the Power Thoughts. It does have some meatier areas that can easily require rereading and intensive thought. Overall, it is a good book with practical application. I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.
40 Days to a Better You This book is a serious study guide to help the reader work through their own personal issues in their life to empower them to find contentment. The author starts with a way to examine your life and explore God’s plan for you. Cindy doesn’t presume to know what your path is – merely, she gives you the tools you need to find your own answers. The rest of the book is broken up into 40 days – each day is a lesson or discipline to study and apply to your life. Each day ends with a summary of the discipline and a bible verse. It is a wonderful tool for anyone feeling dissatisfied with their path. So many of us need to learn to be more resilient and this book is a perfect way to transition your life into a more resilient and satisfying one. I loved the “personal contract” at the end of the book. I think it would also be a great couples study guide. I received this book from bookfun.org in exchange for my honest review
I was hesitant at first about Trimm's teaching on soul ties but what she says makes sense. She writes about the soul and the attachments and relationships we make. Some of these can be detrimental to us, preventing us from being the person we know we should be. She helps us identify the relationships that need to be broken or healed. Then she gives practical tool to do that and then be resilient. This is an eight week study divided into 40 principles. Some of the harmful attachments may surprise people, such as body piercings and tattoos. I learned some very useful information from this book. See my full review at http://bit.ly/1guNayK. I received a complimentary copy of the book through the Book Group Network for the purpose of review.
This amazing book is all about transformation. It brings awareness to each reader on barriers and conflicts in ones self and how to untie and shake off strong holds. An extraordinary step by step guide to transform ones spiritual life. It also allows you to see who you are and unlocks the prospect on who you can be. It's not a "quick"read, but it is easy to read. I feel refreshed as I reclaim my soul. Thank you Cindy for allowing The Bookclub Network to put this book in my hands to review for free.
Reclaim Your Soul by Cindy Trimm is very thought-provoking. It is the second in the series. It focuses on the 40 behaviors of a resilient person. The information can be overwhelming at time. But if taken in chunks, thought about, it then makes sense. There is biblical verse and examples backing each behavior. This would make an excellent group bible study book. I recieved this book from bookfun.org in exchange for my honest opinion.
I used this book with a group of women. We met every morning to pray, read, discuss, and pray. It's a lot to take in. Invite God into that space and you get what you need at that time. The key is to implement and practice what you received to change your life.
