Ryan Wilder sends me a list of his pucking desires and offers to practice a few with me…
Our friends-with-benefits situation just got hot as hell.
The NHL goalie of the Seven Devils happens to be my best friend – and the nicest man I know.
He confides in me that his relationships have been…very vanilla.
So, because I am the best friend that anyone could ever ask for, I offer him a deal.
We use each other.
For practice.
After all, we need more bedroom experience.
Except, well, if vanilla tastes this good…
I never want another flavor again.
Dear Ryan, you are my best friend and now my favorite hockey stick.
Please see me as more because I really love vanilla now.
I never want another flavor. Ever again.
Don’t make me go back.
Sincerely, Baddie Addie
Wilder Puck is a steamy hockey romance that is going to make you feel warm and fuzzy in all the right places. It is a standalone and not suitable for anyone under 18. This book has spice. It ends with a happy ever after.
Ryan Wilder’s sister has her own book called Pucking Grey. The storylines are cohesive and they make cameos in each other’s books.
I personally found this book to be very frustrating and by the end I really disliked Addison.
Does Addison even like Ryan? I really liked her in the first chapter, but then she just became annoying and unlikeable the further you got in the book.
At one point it seems like shes pissed because she thinks he likes her but won't admit it. Which leads her to decide she should act like she doesn't like him either. Why don't you just admit your feelings ...like why does he have to go first? You can't be pissed he won't admit anything if you are doing the same thing. Plus his actions totally showed he liked her so idk what her deal was. It made no freaking sense. It was just unnecessary drama that just kept coming back up.
The really "dramatic" stuff started at around 80% of the book and it's so stupid. Like I get it, he paid her rent after she said not to, but she acted like he was cheating on her and lied to her about it. It's way too over the top. Plus she keeps saying he lied for months...hasn't it only been like 3 weeks?
I read the first book in the series and just thought it was a different approach to the whole fake dating trope but after reading this one I'm just not sure. It seems like the author is just over doing everything. Like do you like him or not. Okay you do, then date him, you can't freak out about it every other day. At one point she is crying in her car about being alone and I'm just like you did this to yourself!!!!
Also what is with the whole Addison left her shirt in his room thing. Like what was she wearing after, no shirt...she went to her coffee shop and was at the party with no shirt on? Also why was his dad so surprised her shirt was in his room? Ryan told him they were dating!!! This doesn't make sense!
Also why is Ryan's dad such a dick. Like he came off that way in the first book especially when Madison talks about him missing her birth. Like I get it was an important game but even the person she told that to seemed to think it was shitty. What was the point of mentioning that if it was never going to be addressed again. Then he was a dick in this book too, I thought that meant we would get more of a back story about their dad and his issues with his kids but no. He was a jerk until at the end the author threw in a random apology. Even the other players on the team notice his dad is unnecessarily mean to Ryan. Why is he like that!!!!
The issues with their dad and Madison's eyebrow situation are never explained yet they are brought up in both books! The dad thing was clearly just overdone and then the author threw in lame random apology at the end to attempt to address that issue, but the eyebrow thing was just never addressed. It was implied that the person who messed up her eyebrows looked familiar and so I figured it would be some girl who really liked Grey and was pissed he was dating Madison so she decide to mess up her eyebrows. But nope the whole eyebrow thing was just randomly thrown in for no reason and just kept being referenced. So much so that it spans 2 freaking books.
Why is their dad a dick and what happened to her eyebrows!!!!!!!!!
I also have a problem with how at the end of the last book we were told we were going to get books about Crew and Matt. Why would you pick those two when you hinted at something going on between Madison's friend and that Ace guy. We should get their book next. Then in this book she is alluding to something going on with Andrew and his PT person. If you mention that stuff it usually means those are the characters you're going to focus on next. Who cares about Matt and Crew!!!
Overall this book just made me think the author has no idea what she is doing and is just throwing random things together. Don't read this series it's just annoying and there are way better friends to lovers and fake dating books out there.
This review is kind of all over the place but this book just really pisses me off. I'm sorry if there are any grammar or spelling mistakes. Every time I read through it I just thought of more stuff that pissed me off so I just gave up after a while.

It started off really good but I felt like it was just a lot of going back and forth about their feelings / not feelings/ assuming the other half’s feelings and then just giving in . Idk it lost me a little in the development of it all. All of a sudden the dad supports it. A lot of seeming to come out of nowhere . But overall I like the author , like the characters and will continue reading .
This book honestly reminds me of King Charles and Camila. You know every guy who says that the girl is just his friend and once y’all break up they are having sex and married within a year. That’s this couple. By the way the book sounds they are at least mid twenties and it feels like they are in high school. It felt gross.
I hated the I love you but I am scared so I am pushing you away, hot cold bs. I enjoyed the first book but I struggled to believe this one’s love story.
Funny that a book about boring sex lives was a tad boring. The MCs seemed really young/immature and the FMC was unlikable at times. I don't hate that I took the time to read this book but I wouldn't recommend it to someone asking what to put on their TBR shelf either.
I had to find this book before I could move onto the second Honey Badger book. I think this can easily be read before or after Maddie and Grey’s book. Loved watching it all come together for Ryan and Baddie Addie ☺️
Couldn’t put it down so worth the read would give it 10 stars if I could I would love a best friend like Ryan sign me up I would recommend this book to everyone
