Home for Christmas in July: A Mistletoe Mountain Novel

Rate this book
Welcome to Mistletoe Mountain, where the holiday cheer never ends. Even when you really, really wish it would.

Nick Jolly runs the Inn at Mistletoe Mountain, a quaint Vermont town that celebrates Christmas all year round. The town even holds a Christmas in July festival every summer to keep the holiday spirit flowing. Usually, Nick lives up to his name, but this year, he’s recently widowed and embracing his inner Scrooge. It’s his first Christmas in July without Carol, and he wants nothing to do with any of it. Nick leaves his adult daughters in charge of festivities at the inn and retreats to his fishing cabin. To grieve. Alone.

Noelle Winters is grieving, too. The town librarian and diehard mystery lover has always found the holidays a bit lonely. She’s especially melancholy this year because she’s mourning the loss of her holiday-loving best friend, Carol. So when she stumbles across an envelope that contains a Mistletoe Mountain map and head-scratching clues, she jumps at the chance to distract herself with a scavenger hunt.

At first, the hunt seems like harmless fun, but Noelle quickly suspects she’s not the only one searching. When she turns up at the fishing cabin, frightened she’s being followed, Nick reels in his line and joins her in her quest.

As Nick and Noelle work together to decode the cryptic, holiday-themed puzzle, threatening messages and sabotaged clues pile up. What began as an innocent game takes a sinister turn. And as the danger mounts, the pair’s long-buried feelings for each other spark to life.

Will Nick and Noelle survive to solve the puzzle and save Christmas (in July)? And is Mistletoe Mountain’s festive magic strong enough to return the sparkle to Nick’s eye and give Noelle the gift of love?

One way or another, there’ll be fireworks on the mountain this Christmas in July.

This heartwarming holiday rom-com mystery features a closed-door, second-chance romance loaded with crackling chemistry, gripping suspense, and small-town shenanigans. Home for Christmas in July can be read as a standalone.

This was such a quick, cute read. If i hadn’t been so busy with working overtime I would have finished it in a day.

I enjoyed the characters and the storyline was cute. I like the idea of this little town having Christmas in July and getting all into it.

I did find the mystery part to feel sort of…. Thrown in. While it was alluded to early on, it still was a bit disconnected for me. However, I still enjoyed the book and find these characters cute and interesting. I will be continuing the series.

This is the first book I’ve read from Melissa and I will be back for more!

Melissa Miller's cleverly crafted a Christmas in July mystery with a lot of love and heart! I love the little twist in this mysterious and witty holiday read. So many great and unexpected moments that add to the excitement of the romantic suspense elements.

This book has romance, comedy and mystery. This is no ordinary second chance romance. The way the author achieves it in an interesting and unexpected way with a scavenger hunt nonetheless helps add a level of warmth to finding the HEA we all eagerly want in our romances.

What a great book! Love that it’s based on older adults getting a second chance at love. Another great holiday romance to add to your winter TBR. And this one has a nice side of mystery too!

✨ARC Review✨

I was genuinly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. For one, it has everything you could want: a romantic suspense with a dash of a holiday rom-com. Throw in a small town and your best friend's husband who's a widower. Also, short chapters. Who doesn't love short chapters? Espeically since I feel like I flew through this book!

I really enjoyed the plot. It was fun and playful and had me really hooked. Noelle is helping Nick's daughters set up for the annual Chritsmas in July open house. While digging through her best friend's holiday boxes (her friend who has since passed), she stumbles across a note. A note that contains a clue to a scavenger hunt.

And then we throw in a little mystery of being followed and you have a solid holiday suspense!

Noelle and Nick were adorable. They're both grieving and trying to move on. Noelle lost her best friend, Nick lost his wife. These two have history. I love that we got a few moments from when they were together. I just thought these two had such a bittersweet story. I love they got a second chance but not under the circumstances. Both characters are truly good people. I did enjoy their personalilties and I loved their chemistry. Their flirting was cheesy and cringe at times BUT I didn't hate it. I'll just blame it on them being older.

I wish we got a slower build up to the MOMENT the romance blooms. It felt quick and I just wanted it to feel more sincere. Obviously, we're rooting for them the whole time so I just expected some grand moment to happen.

I really enjoyed the suspenseful moments we get as well. It did feel extremely random but I didn't hate it. I also loved the mystery of the scavneger hunt. The end result of that was wholesome and kind of sad, but really cute.

There were cheesy moments for sure but for what it is, I enjoyed it. The town is called Mistletoe Mountain - you have to expect some cheesiness.

Overall, I really enjoyed this. I had a fun time reading it. I think because it is a smaller book we don't get to have too many in depth conversations or moments. We get a lot going on but it was good!

Definitely recommend reading for a quick and cute holiday mystery!!

Thank you to Hambright PR and Melissa F Miller for the arc copy!

Home for Christmas in July is a contemporary holiday romcom novel with an amalgamation of mystery and intrigue. The story is set in The Mistletoe Mountain where you will get to see the Christmas spirit throughout the whole year.

The story follows Nick Jolly who is pretty much a fun guy until this year, everything took a plunge in cold water. Nick's wife and the love of his life has passed away. He and Carol along with their three daughters have summer Christmases and their memories are fresh as if it happened yesterday. Then he hands over the responsibility of the inn for the summer Christmas and moves to a fishing cabin to grieve. Because that's exactly what he needs to do.

Noelle is devastated because after losing her best friend, Carol who was not only the one that makes the Christmas spirit enjoyable but also someone who brings happiness all around. During all these, she discovers some sort of scavenger hunt and takes the challenge to get to the bottom of this search.

Things go south when the clues lead her to Nick's cabin. Together they venture out and find out who is behind these cryptic and mysterious adventures.

Follow along as they discover more than just what's on the surface. Whether it's emotions or a hopeful romance, Mistletoe Mountain is about to become more exciting than ever.

Can I just say that I didn't want the book to end, I mean the storyline is so captivating and interesting that it didn't let me go even after finishing the book in a single go. All the clues and the anticipation, it was so gripping and genuinely weaved into the attention of the readers. I immediately resonated with Noelle, her passion for mystery and books, she was outstanding in a way that felt like I was solving the clues along with her. The characters are well written and interactions with each other were definitely engaging to read.

I'd highly recommend it to all the romcom mystery readers.

Arc Review for Home for Christmas in July by Melissa F Miller

This book was a bit of a surprise to me because even though it is a short story with around 200 pages, it had me going through a multitude of emotions. It is also very hard to explain without giving too much away, but I started off curious, then a bit sad, then excited but still a bit sad, and in the end I was happy again. The book is definitely a cozy fun read with a little bit of mystery to it, a bit of grieving, and a cute happy ending. It includes a scavenger hunt which I love, and the reason for it even more.

The story revolves around Nick, who owns the Inn at Mistletoe Mountain, and Noelle, a librarian. Nick lost his wife, Carol who's also a best friend of Noelle. Both are grieving and in the meantime Noelle found herself involved in a scavenger hunt planned by Carol and she got help from Nick while solving the clues. Noelle and Nick both now are drawn together by their shared grief and growing attraction. Both didn't expect the twist and turn when the scavenger hunt became a dangerous game, with threatening messages.

Both Nick and Noelle tried to decode the messages and to protect the town they love, their investigation goes deeper than they expected in turn, they discover some secrets and confront their own fears. Throughout this journey, they learn to heal, and grieve the person they love, hope, and believe in love once again by giving themselves a chance.

The book is a mixture of thrilling elements with romance, exploring heavily on the themes of grief, forgiving themselves, and the power of human connection.

The writing is top notch and the characters bring out a variety of emotions. All of the character and their internal thoughts, as well as their actions, were believable. Intriguing secrets are slowly revealed and as everything comes together.

Ah, small town living, I really like the fact that setting gives us lots of space for other characters inside the town. The mystery pulled me in and kept me firmly in the reading seat while the characters experience a wide range of emotions.

All-in-all a gripping tale from the intriguing start to the surprising twist and secrets at the end. This book is a cozy mystery and a compelling read.

What a fun read!

The story was a well-balanced mix of witty banter, soft love, a sense of lurking danger and the quintessential hallmark movie-esque vibes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the big-squabbly-family aspect of the story. Small-town-librarian Noelle is smart, snarky, well-written and a complete joy to read, in a POV perspective. The christmas village setting is a delight. The scavenger hunt idea was so cheesy and brilliant and I loved it SO MUCH.

Nick's character didn't do much for me, personally. Sure, he's a man grieving his late wife, and yes, he's a great father/summer santa, but beyond that, he didn't exactly shine like Noelle's character did.

The small-town-where-everyone-knows-everyone-else trope came across a little too heavy for me at the beginning, but the story evolved to accommodate it well enough.

I would've loved it more if the bad guy's entire story arc wasn't just a couple pages long; maybe a little more of Noelle recollecting the shady parts of that situation in interspersed more into the context to the story.

Nonetheless, the story was well-written and held a great pace throughout. Would absolutely recommend and I look forward to reading the next books of the series soon.

Welcome to Mistletoe Mountain! I loved this story! It was heartwarming and sweet and emotional and funny with a mystery and suspense added in!

Noelle Winters and Nick Jolly (I loved the names in the book!) are both grieving the loss of Carol Jolly. Carol was Nick’s wife and Noelle’s best friend. With the Christmas in July celebration coming up, Noelle is putting on a brave face but Nick (who runs the Mistletoe Inn) is embracing his inner scrooge.

Noelle jumps at the chance to distract herself with a scavenger hunt. Harmless fun right? Things take a sinister turn - Will Nick and Noelle survive to solve the puzzle and save Christmas (in July?)

Noelle and Nick were both struggling with grief and I really felt for both of them - they were so easy to root for! I loved the holiday references and especially the scavenger hunt! The town has some really great quirky characters. This is one of those books that will definitely leave you smiling!

This was a fun, heartwarming holiday romance with some mystery and suspense added in. I loved the town of Mistletoe Mountain and the characters’ names - Nick Jolly and his daughters Holly, Ivy, and Merry. This Christmas in July is not the same, as Nick is still grieving the loss of his wife Carol, and Noelle is grieving the loss of her best friend. Noelle finds herself on a surprise scavenger hunt as Nick offers his help, they reconnect and start to fall for each other. I really enjoyed the plot and thought that the scavenger hunt was a fun idea. Overall this was enjoyable read with the perfect amount of romance, mystery, and holiday cheer.

Home for Christmas in July can be read as a standalone, but the second Mistletoe Mountain book- Booked for Christmas, releases December 10th.

Such a cute book! When I saw this book pop up with Hambright I knew I wanted to read it ASAP. My family used to celebrate Christmas in July every year when I was a kid at a camp resort we would stayed at. It felt very nostalgic to me. I loved it!

This book definitely hits heavy at times. There are some situations of grief and spousal loss. But with that loss the MCs find themselves drawn together. There’s some great banter and the book isn’t heavy and depressing as it may initially sound. There’s also a mysterious element to the book which I didn’t expect but enjoyed. I really loved the dynamics between the characters and setting being in a small town(my favorite) it really set up for a really fantastic book! I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store!

If you’re in the mood for a cozy Christmas mystery with all the feels, Home for Christmas in July is the perfect escape. Set in the always-festive Mistletoe Mountain, where Christmas lives on all year, this story follows Nick Jolly, who’s grieving his first Christmas in July without his wife, Carol. While Nick’s usually the town’s holiday spirit in human form, this year he’s hanging up the “jolly” and hiding out in a fishing cabin. Meanwhile, Noelle Winters, the town’s book-loving librarian and mystery fan, is feeling the void too after losing her best friend, Carol. When she stumbles onto a scavenger hunt with cryptic clues, she’s all in—anything to distract from the holiday blues.
Their worlds collide when Noelle’s clues lead her right to Nick’s cabin, where the two team up to solve this festive puzzle. What starts as a sweet, quirky adventure quickly gets serious, with threats and mysterious messages popping up along the way. Nick and Noelle’s connection has a spark that’s impossible to miss, and the journey is full of heart, humor, and just enough suspense to keep you guessing.
Melissa F. Miller does a fantastic job capturing small-town holiday magic with characters you can’t help but root for. Nick and Noelle’s chemistry is so natural, and their banter and shared grief make them even more endearing. And the little twists? They keep the story moving and add a hint of mystery that’s super satisfying.
If you’re looking for a heartwarming, closed-door romance with second-chance vibes, a lovable cast of characters, and the perfect dose of holiday cheer, Home for Christmas in July is a must-read. Get ready to laugh, sigh, and maybe even tear up a bit.

When it comes to Christmas Stories, doesn't matter if it's summer or days before Halloween, I will stop everything and read! I'm a Christmas junkie! So I did just that when I was given the opportunity to read "Home for Christmas in July" for Melissa and her publisher Hambright PR.

Let me preface my review with how amazing and seamless the play on and usage of Christmas verbiage was! 🎄🎄

-mistletoe mountain
-poinsettia way
-12 days of Christmas (tied it)
-Christmas Carol connection(ghost from)

This story takes place on mistletoe mountain and a family who not only celebrates Christmas but also Christmas in July festival and the whole town gets in on the festivities. Each year "Nick Jolly" plays Santa but this year he's taken on the roll of the "grinch" (he lost his wife last year) and doesn't want to play him.

Now while trying to figure out who will
Play Santa, have an open house all while one person wants the whole thing to be cancelled Noelle steps in and works her magic to make it happen! But without a little mystery twist. Someone is trying to sabotage the holiday scavenger hunt. I couldn't get enough of the Christmas theme carried out flawlessly!

Throughout this story we saw how the characters had to struggle through some things in order to carry out things as a team/community for others when in the end it may just benefit them.

The plot was excellent, the character growth was expected, the banter was good, the twist I wasn't expecting but everything played out and wrapped up well!

Melissa F Miller's new series is easy to read, cozy, and with light romance.

Whether it's July or December this is one small town I would love to visit. All characters have joyful Holiday names and surnames, the coziness doesn't stop there: from food to wonder drinks, fuzzy socks, cozy ornaments, decorations, reference to traditional songs, ballets and classic movies, the perfect baking goods, comfortable clothes, cabins, hiking, trekking, chopping wood and the core is: a scavenger hunt. The mood is set.

Carol passes away and leaves Nick deep in grief. He no longer wants to be Santa in their annual Christmas in July celebrations, but Noelle Winters, the local librarian (Carol's best friend, and once Nick's first love) will swirl joyful and mysterious spirits, bringing all together. She follows a collection of clues left by Carol (in small envelopes that I imagine being so beautiful and with the perfect color and calligraphy). The truth is, Carol had a dying wish for Noelle and Nick.

The scavenger hunt takes us across the town to different locations (nature and businesses), and we meet more characters. But not all is joy. There is danger too. Someone is stalking her and sabotaging their goals.

Nick is a great character, very protective, and loyal to the right values. A second chance romance for the holidays.

I'm excited to read book 2, Booked for Christmas.

I have to thank Hambright PR for the chance to read this book in advance.
I was really intrigued by the idea of this little town between the mountains, where Christmas is always celebrated in Summer, combined with a scavenger hunt involving the main characters for a chance to love again. Home for Christmas in July is for sure a lighthearted novel you can easily read in a session, full of love for life and family, where you'll find many well-loved comedy elements. And I think it’s impossible not to root for Nick or Noelle to find their happy ending, or to not be curious about the clues of this hunt around town.
In my opinion, the problem is that all those things could have written in a better way to create a more interesting story that didn't need to involve the “mystery” part, which I didn’t particularly enjoy.
The general result is a little bit poor, I'm afraid, like all has been stuck at a surface level and flows too fast without a proper development. Plus, some details were left a little bit unclear, like for example the main character’s ages, as well as Nick’s daughters’ ones, and I don't understand why.
It would have helped to make things more concrete and reliable.
I don’t know, probably the problem it's me and it wasn't my cup of tea, but it was too simplistic for me to result believable…

I cannot put into words the incredible journey of discovery in this book.

Christmas in July? very original and charming definitely.

I don't usually read books that involve mystery or a touch of suspense, but the combination of these tropes and adding a Christmas romance has been extremely different and surprising, I loved it.

The plot of the book was very good, the secondary characters (although with many names they confused me at times 😅) were very key and at the same time quite great, the romance of the book is touched on in a mature way, the main characters (Noelle and Nick) were quite mature characters throughout the book and the situations that made them be together (including Carol from the beginning) the truth is that I expected everything except what followed and that for me has been incredible.

A great Christmas read, combined with mystery, a treasure hunt, personal growth, and above all, Christmas romance, the book consists of no more than 200 pages and is super light, the author's pen has been very good and you make enjoy.

📌Thanks to @hambright_pr and Melissa for allowing me to read this story, it was amazing 🏷️

♡Nick & Noelle♡

Nick is normally so into the Christmas spirit. He runs the Inn at Mistletoe Mountain in a town where they celebrate Christmas all year round. Sadly, though, Nick recently lost his wife and, with her passing, went his love for Christmas. Now he's navigating life as a widow and single dad. Noelle is the town librarian and is feeling down this year too due to losing her best friend. She ends up receiving a map of Mistletoe Mountain and some clues. So she decides to head out on the scavenger hunt, thankful for the distraction. That's when Noelle and Nick decide to team up to figure out the clues.
Melissa is a new to me author, and I can't wait for more from her! This story was super cute! I'm so jealous that they live in a town where Christmas is an all year long theme! I'm obsessed with anything Christmas, so the setting of this story was absolutely perfect for me! Nick and Noelle are such great characters. I enjoyed how their romance ended up unfolding. I also loved how this wasn't a normal second chance. The author put her own twist on it with some mysteries, and it made the story so much more enjoyable!

In a place called Mistletoe Mountain, where Christmas is celebrated all year round, lives an Inn keeper named Nick Jolly. He is normally right into the festive spirit with the rest of the town, but this year he is a widower and it's left him feeling a little grinchy. He leaves his adult daughters in charge of everything for Christmas in July and escapes to his cabin alone to grieve.

Noelle Winters was Nick's wife, Carol's best friend. She is the local librarian and she is grieving too. She ends up stumbling upon a map of the town with a scavenger hunt, and as a mystery lover she can't resist.
The hunt ends up bringing her to Nick's cabin where he joins in on the search as she begins to be concerned that she is being followed.
The danger of their adventure grows but so does their spark for each other.

A rom-com with a sprinle of mystery, this book was heart-warming and the Christmas setting gave that hallmark movie vibe.
Characters with past grief that heal together are one of my fav things to read.
I enjoyed the characters and the Christmas town that celebrates Christmas all year long!
A great book to add to your TBR this festive season.

Whilst I received this book from the publisher all thoughts and opinions remain my own.

I don’t usually gravitate toward seasonal books, but "Home for Christmas in July" by Melissa F. Miller completely won me over. It’s the perfect mix of cheesy, mysterious, and romantic, with some deeper themes that add a lot of heart.

Character thoughts:I loved every character—everyone was so likeable! The FMC and MMC were fantastic, and his three daughters and nieces were such a fun group. Plus, the way we got to meet so many characters from the small town really gave it that cozy, everyone-knows-everyone vibe. It felt like a community you’d want to be part of.

Plot thoughts: The mystery was cleverly woven throughout, and I loved how it didn’t fully take center stage until the end. And if you know me, you know I’m all in for scavenger hunts, bucket lists, or anything that sparks adventure and fun. Plus, the way the mystery and holiday celebrations were intertwined? so well done.

Overall, this was the perfect winter read to kick off December and get me in the holiday spirit. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quick, feel-good, festive escape! 🎄✨

HUGE thank you to @hambright_pr for the RC! I cannot WAIT to dig into book 2 of this world….Booked for Christmas up next and out 12/10!

Home for Christmas in July by Melissa F Miller is yet another success.

During the July Christmas celebration, everything is going smoothly until someone starts stalking Noelle Winters. She is the local librarian who previously had a relationship in Italy with Nick Jolley who was married to Carol who was one of Noelle’s best friends. After Carol’s death Noelle starts finding envelopes with clues in them. At the same time, a mysterious figure shows up in town and creates a little bit of havoc because no one knows who it is.
As this is going on Nick and Noelle start having weekend feelings for each other, but neither kind of wants to act on it since his kids are all around and he’s not sure how they handle it and Noel doesn’t want to besmirch Carol’s memory.
All in all a very easy short read, which is fun and entertainment and quite engaging. If you have never read a Melissa F. Miller book you are missing a lot of really good writing mostly in the mystery genre of a lot of her characters solving mysteries.
You will do yourself a favor if you go back and find her first books and start reading them and you won’t have to figure out with the reading next for quite a long time.

Home for Christmas in July is an adorable, feel-good read with the perfect mix of romance, mystery, and holiday cheer. Set in the quirky town of Mistletoe Mountain, the campy names of the characters and the festive atmosphere create a Hallmark-movie vibe that adds charm to the story.

The real highlights of the book are the plot twists and the mystery. The scavenger hunt and the romantic suspense keep the story moving at a great pace and I loved how the intrigue gradually built. The mystery is well-crafted, with enough suspense to keep you guessing while still maintaining the holiday warmth.

The heartfelt moments, especially surrounding grief and the shared loss between Nick and Noelle, were poignant and beautifully written. The chemistry between the two characters felt natural and their connection was touching, making their eventual romance all the more satisfying.

Home for Christmas in July is a very cute and cozy read. The plot, the heartwarming moments, and the perfect dose of suspense made this a highly enjoyable book. Perfect for fans of second-chance romance with a side of holiday magic. Highly recommend!

If you're a fan of the movie P.S. I Love You, this will be a read you won't want to miss out on.

Noelle and Nick are really cute. I loved how they teamed up together to do this mystery scavenger hunt that leads them to each other and being comfortable in their feelings. There's a lot of other mystery and intense parts involved that I wasn't expecting, so I felt on my toes throughout the whole book! I loved the theme of loss, grief, and healing throughout this book in a Christmas themed town.

Tropes:
Single Dad
Small Town
Second Chance
Grief and Loss

Nick and his daughters live in a Christmas year round town. His wife has passed away, and this will be his first Christmas in July without her. They played Mr. and Mrs. Claus for the town at their inn, but he can't get himself to do it this year. His daughters decide to take on their mom's role of decorating the inn with the help of mom's best friend, Noelle. They find an envelope in the decorations that send Noelle on a scavenger hunt...and Nick gets roped into it.

Thank you, Melissa and Hambright PR, for sending me a copy of this book!

ARC Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you to the author Melissa F. Miller @melissafmillerbooks and @hambright_pr for the #gifted electronic ARC.

Home For Christmas in July by Melisa F. Miller was an absolute delight! Set in a charming small town, this story masterfully blends romantic suspense, mystery, and second-chance romance with a sprinkle of humor.

One of the standout aspects for me was the main characters being older than what you typically see in romance novels—it brought a refreshing depth and realism to their relationship. The widower storyline added an emotional touch, and the heartfelt journey of love and healing felt authentic and moving.

The small-town vibes and tightly knit community enhanced the cozy atmosphere, while the mystery kept me guessing. With its perfect mix of romance and humor, this romcom had me laughing and swooning in equal measure.

Adorable, heartfelt, and full of second chances, Home For Christmas in July is a must-read for anyone who loves a romance with a bit of intrigue. Highly recommended!

I'm a sucker so anything Christmas so I knew from the title had to read this one. Plus it's a single dad romance! After reading this it makes me wish I could visit Mistletoe Mountain and stay at the Inn for their Christmas in July festivities. This town so sounds like my jam. It breaks my heart so see how the loss of best friend and wife of Noelle and Nick still impacts them. A little surprise for Noelle may just show them what is right in front of these two. I really loved the sweet romance of it all. How the town looks out for their own. I love how Noelle has set up the library. If I was a kid I so would want to visit for sure! There is also a touch of suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat a bit. A really good story that sucked me right in. This is my first book by this author and it will not be my last. I'm so looking forward to more from this series!!

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Nick Jolly has three adult daughters and runs the Inn at Mistletoe Mountain. This town celebrates Christmas not only on usual time but in July too. This July Nick opted out of being Mr. Santa and being Scrooge. He lost his wife last August so this time of year is hard for him. Noelle Winters is a town librarian. She lost a best friend, Carol Jolly, Nick’s passed away wife. An adventure together will mend their broken hearts and bring them together. I loved the chemistry and passion between Nick and Noelle. They are good for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a single dad, second chance, small town, rom-com mystery then you’re going to love it.

If you love the holiday season you will want to read the magical Home For Christmas In July by Melissa F. Miller. This is the first book I have read by this author but it certainly won’t be the last.
This is Nick Jolly and Noelle Winter’s magical and at times emotional story and from the moment I picked it up there was no putting down.
Everyone is gearing up for Christmas in July but both Nick and Noelle are grieving and it takes a cryptic puzzle to pull them together and find the strength needed to move forward. But what happens when danger comes into the mix and will solving the puzzle keep them both safe…….
This book has the perfect mix of love, witty banter and underlying mystery. The characters are easy to love and their journey is magical and fun. Looking forward to reading more by this very talented author who brought the magic of Christmas to me in July.

I am new to Ms. Miller’s books but if this book is anything like her usual style, I’ll be reading many more to come. This is a delightful, heartwarming story with a bit of suspense. The synopsis above will totally give you the gist of the storyline so I won’t rehash it. But I will tell you the storyline held me glued to the pages from start to finish. I laughed, my heart hurt, my heart soared and at times I just simply smiled. The book has that small town, second chance at love feel to it that this reader truly loves. Throw in a town full of fun characters, an odd note that turns out to be a scavenger hunt and a mysterious stranger in town and you too will understand why I couldn’t put the book down.

I highly recommend Grabbing up Home for Christmas in July and enjoying the fun/suspense happening at Mistletoe Mountain. You won’t be sorry you did.

This is the first book I’ve read from Melissa and I will be back for more! This was very well written and I was stuck to the pages once I started reading. This is a mystery romantic suspense and I had so much fun trying to figure out what was happening with the scavenger hunt and who the stalker was. It was so sweet what Nick’s late wife had set up for Noelle and him in the end knowing about their past. I loved their whirlwind romance flashbacks and I loved how everyone in the town was like one big giant family.

We were introduced to a few other characters in this book that already have books of their own and I will definitely be going back to read those very soon!
