Split Happens
Superhero walk: Check. Superhero outfit: Check. Superhero motorcycle: Check. If she’d had some super powers, Simone Pisgah would’ve put superhero down on her tax forms. Instead, she had to settle for the moniker of badass attorney. The brains behind Split Happens, she was the woman you sought out if you had half a million dollars for her retainer and didn’t want to be railroaded in a breakup.
Finished stumping for Rho Beta Omicron Tau, the sorority established by herself and her merry band of lunatics, Simone is called upon to help their fellow soror who finds herself lost in some backwoods town. She rolled up in time to capture some prime blackmailing footage of her sorors going shell. Thinking about what she’d buy with the money she’d extort from them, Simone overlooked Valor Joyance. He didn’t however, overlook her.
There wasn’t a day that came and went that Valor could overlook Simone, not with the way her body fit in her clothes and her mind took over a debate. Ten years after first laying eyes on her lushness, she still had plenty of moxie and about twenty more pounds…all in the right places. She also had a motorcycle. If there was one thing Valor liked more than a brash, smart woman with curves, it was a brash, smart woman with curves riding a chopper. He didn’t have to be told twice she could handle that bike. The real question was could she handle 6’4” and 245 lbs of him.

Nothing like a smart, badass woman who can handle more than motorcycle and throw down in the bedroom. No shame in her game.

The one thing that I love about Jeanie Johnson's books is that there can never be any doubt that the hero's in her books worship their heroines. The one thing that I don't like, is that you have to wade through the family history, the self-promotion and the ghetto-ness of the characters. Every singe character has numerous advanced degrees from prestigious colleges and universities, but act like a hot ghetto mess in just about every page. This isn't always a bad thing, it's just tedious when it graces every single page. After awhile the spark is lost. But, I'm a sucker for punishment so I'll keep reading her books and continue to be somewhat awed and disturbed at the same time.

Simone and Valor are too funny. I love these authors. They always give me a strong, funny and very interesting tale of an Alpha man and an extremely Alpha female. Great story, awesome character interaction. The sisters of Rho Beta Omicron Tau are the business. Can't wait to read more books in the series. Highly recommend.
