Rate this book
Blaine and Tracey had thought they were in for the worst summer of their lives when they arrived at Uncle Cecil’s house. They soon discovered that their eccentric uncle and his inventor assistant had other plans in store. The unconventional duo had created invisible zip lines for the twins to use as they traveled around the globe to learn all about science. In the first leg of their journey, The Sassafras Science Adventures Volume 1: Zoology, they discovered the amazing world of animals. In this volume, the twins (and you) will learn all about the different systems of the human body as they zip to an ancient tomb in Ethiopia, a garbage landfill in Texas and more. Don’t miss a minute of their summer-long, science-filled zip line journey!

My boys like the story in these books, probably because the kids almost die at the end of every chapter, but from a homeschool mom’s perspective, this book wasn’t great. The story is fun, but the science info is awkwardly placed in the story and rather scant. By the end of the book, it felt like a bit of a waste of time for me.

Definitely not as entertaining as the first one, but just as many editing errors. Basic things like using “know” instead of “now”. Using plural and singular in the same sentence. Using “then” instead of “the”. Or things that just plain don’t make sense. I guess we will read the next one because the kids don’t care about the editing errors and they loved the first one. The third one will decide if we continue with the series or not.

I cannot say enough about the Sassafras science series. Hilarious, adventurous, impressively broad in the scope of topics covered and their depth. We use this as a complete science curriculum in our home using fully illustrated reference books for my children to access as we read out loud. We can't wait to keep reading into the next subject!

I did not like this book very much. I preferred the other school books I read this year. This book is about two twins who travel around the world to collect data about the human body and then send all the data to their uncle, who is a scientist.

It was very very very BAD. Children traveling around the world by themselves fighting terrorists while learning about science!? This the best you could come up with for an anatomy book? I wish they just did a bunch of facts and not a story.

This is a fun, quirky study with elementary students about anatomy lessons. This story introduces students to places and people around the world.
