From Best selling Scandinavian author Inger Wolf comes another spine-chilling mystery.
In an empty villa in Aarhus, Denmark, a teenage boy is found murdered.
He has been tortured, and around his body, dead wasps are scattered.
Lieutenant Daniel Trokic and the rest of the investigation team suspect that the murdered boy's parents are hiding a secret about a series of scars on the boy's body.
But the police find it extraordinarily difficult to uncover what the parents are concealing and how it ties together with the wasps, a fanatic collector, and an old rape case.
Meanwhile, a patient escapes from the psychiatric hospital's closed ward–a patient obsessed with wasps.

I really enjoyed this. The gruesome manner of the murder and the mystery of how a young man in an institution is linked to it, had me hooked from the start. I enjoyed how the story is told from different viewpoints. It made everything more intriguing to me. As we got closer to the end, I found myself reading quicker and quicker. The short snappy chapters made everything feel more suspenseful.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I thoroughly enjoyed this well written mystery. It was fast moving and difficult to put down. The author does a great job of hooking the reader. Daniel Trokic is a unique, interesting character . I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
This story was a little harder to get through for me but definitely another good one. It's just amazing what some humans do to other humans and how the cops, also humans, have to survive to solve it all. This is quite a story.
Wasp Nest is a deeply disturbing, dark, totally addictive psychological thriller/police procedural set in Denmark. It will draw you in and not let go until the last page is finished. Ms. Wolf has a talent for accessing the deepest recesses of the human psyche and coming up with some of the most unusual methods of killing and motivations for those killings. One aspect of Ms. Wolf's stories that I particularly enjoy is that she includes portions of the story from the killer's viewpoint without ever giving any clues to his/her identity. It adds a chilling aspect to the story to view things from the killer's twisted mind and their justifications for their actions. The stories are atmospheric and chilling, but once you are drawn in you can't let go. I have been binge-reading this series and can't wait for the next one.
This is a new author to me and I enjoyed this unpredictable story. The twists and turns kept me glued to my seat. It is original and unique. I like the way the police handled the case and followed all the clues. i received a free copy of this book and this is my honest review.
This was a really good read. Some of the characters you like, many others you can't figure out. This is a page-turner and the plot has lots of twists and turns. Who are these dead boys? Why are there wasps? What are the investigators missing? Read this book and find out.
Although I received an ARC, this is my honest opinion and would definitely read more books by this author.
Gripping and suspenseful! A very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters. The tension builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. Will keep you swiping the pages furiously. Worthy of your TBR list.
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book from in order to read and provide a voluntary and honest review, should I choose to do so.
A fascinating & twisted tale into the mind & world of a serial killer. This Danish author combines descriptions of her home town, with figments of her imagination to create a complex look into the psyche of a madman. A gripping tale you won’t want to put down.
