Corruption runs rampant even in a not-so-distant future where the biggest lottery is rigged so that the only winners are rich and white. But in a world that has been ravaged by a destructive alien attack, an opportunity for a lifetime of riches in exchange for serving as consort to one of the alien defenders is indeed a great prize.
Karma, down on her luck, will become the first Black consort, despite her belief that being an alien whore is only marginally better than serving humans. This epic tale of Afrofuturism explores a world that is chillingly plausible, where survival, identity, and resilience are put to the ultimate test.
A Note From The Author
The Galatian Exchange first appeared on Amazon’s Kindle Vella in July 2021. Since then, it has had amazing success with a consistent ranking within the top 25 of faved stories!
Unfortunately, at the time of this publication, the Kindle Vella platform is only available within the United States. However, my readers are all over the world! And many have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to read this series. For that reason, I have brought TGE to book form. But, while it has been edited from the original, there have not been any major changes made to the book form. If you have enjoyed the Kindle Vella version, the only changes are basic corrections to names, dates, and continuity.
I want to confirm that this is not a new story and is not an extension, prequel or epilogue to the Kindle Vella series. For those unfamiliar with the Kindle Vella platform, be aware that the stories are structured as short episodes within an ongoing series. Meaning; there is no end. With that said, we incorporate ‘seasons’, which ends a storyline while introducing new ones. So, do not worry, there are resolutions to the conflicts! I hope this clarifies any questions. Please enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Juicy inter-species romance! Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2021 …I can hardly wait for the next installment!
5.0 out of 5 stars Scifi with a brown girl lead Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2022 I love fantasy, science fiction, and romance. I think this is a pretty good job of incorporating all three. I like that because it's a continuously building story you are allowed a chance to look at other subplots.
5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE this story!!! Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2021 The Galatian Exchange hits all the right notes. I fell in love with Rafe and Karma (and Dorf) instantly. It’s something about this dystopian romance that makes you think beyond the storyline. I absolutely LOVE a story that will trigger all your emotions and keep you wanting more. This is why Pepper Pace is an automatic buy. Every. Time.
About Pepper Pace
Pepper Pace creates a unique brand of Interracial/multicultural erotic romance. While her stories span the gamut from humorous to heartfelt, the common theme is crossing racial boundaries.
Pepper Pace is the pen name used by the author. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has always enjoyed creativity. At a very young age, Pepper had a gift for art and would spend most of her spare time drawing images that she later began adding stories behind. Soon writing became more important than the illustrations and though she still loved art, it took a back seat to her real love.
Pepper wrote her first novel when she was 12 years old and had written 2 more by the age of 18. Too shy to share her work with anyone, Pepper stock piled her many stories into notebooks until she came upon Literotica.com and was compelled to share her craft.
Pepper became instantly popular and won several awards each year in which she submitted a story to the site. After receiving popular feedback, she grew in confidence and created a popular blog entitled Writing Feedback where she encourages her readers to interact with her on topics concerning, music, writing, art and pop culture, and can be contacted at her blog: pepperpacefeedback.blogspot.com/
Pepper lives in Cincinnati where many of her characters also reside.
I’m just in love with this story and the characters. The MC has actual common sense from the beginning of the which is a rarity in these types of tropes.
The first three books of the Galatian Exchange are now available on KU. The second book has less graphic sex, more character relationship development, and some surprises, not all of them good. There is graphic off-page violence, as well as child abuse. The Galatians and their consorts are interesting.
Rafe comes clean with what he knows about the Consorts and finds out he doesn't know much about them either. He and his fellow guardians under his command are falling for their consorts, especially after Karma reveals to them all what life as a poor person of color's life is like in the post-invasion world of Earth. Some of the consorts realize that they have been lied to and find themselves wanting more out of their lives. My heart just broke to read how the sick and infirmed were treated in the orphanage. Even in 2500, things have not changed for the better for all of mankind. Only the Rich and whites have a good life.
Pepper wrote a very imaginative and thrilling story. I fell in love with Rafe Karma Dorf and Em. Their situation has them bonded as a family of their choosing, especially since Rafe has made his declaration about Karma.
NOTE: This book was read and listened to in sync with Audible.com.
Pepper Pace is not letting me breathe with The Galatian Exchange: Book Two. Karma gets shoved into the role of the first Black consort no choice, no mercy and while the system expects her to shrink, she flips the script. She doesn’t look like the others, doesn’t think like them, and that difference is exactly what rattles the cage. She’s feeding people, exposing corruption, and refusing to play the part they wrote for her.
And then there’s Rafe. Whew. He’s that man who thinks he’s doing the right thing, but slowly realizes good intentions aren’t enough. The corruption he swore wasn’t there? Oh, it’s real. And Karma is the one forcing him to see it. Watching him stumble, check himself, and start digging deeper adds another messy, human layer to the story.
The racism and classism here aren’t whispers they’re loud, ugly, and painfully familiar. Pace doesn’t sugarcoat it, and that’s what makes the book hit so hard.
Why I’m hooked: ✨ Karma’s difference = disruption, not weakness ✨ Rafe’s arc = accountability in progress ✨ Social commentary that bites but also makes you think
And listen… I’ve already slid into Book Three because this series has me in a choke hold. I thought I’d pace myself, but nope Pepper Pace hijacked my weekend, and I’m not even mad about it.
This book overall and this installment in particular has me all in my feels! M’s perspective is so poignant…actually each and every character in Rafe and Karma’s support circle (I couldn’t think of another way to say it) are absolutely phenomenal! The character development by Ms. Pace is exquisite. Dorf, Drago, Maddie, Tam. I could read this series for years like a long running TV show!
I am enjoying this story. Karma and Rafe are now in a position that could cause everyone they know/love to be slaughtered. M is adorable and fierce. I like her character which only seems to make it easier for Rafe to picture what he's always wanted. A family. He thought he had 7 years and then he'd walk away, but Karma has changed all of that. But at what cost?
This is a great series. I read it on Kindle Vella and just could not get enough of it. Every character played an integral part in the book. The story is told from a variety of POVs, each unique and on their own journey, but it all blended together seamlessly. I can't wait for more to be released.
