Thousands of years have passed, but Calu can't forget who he is or how he came to be this way. Nor can he forget the beautiful goddess he did all of this for.

The third part of Season of the Witch tells us more about the origins of Calu (Death) when Remus meets the young Goddess Strenia. A confontation with his bloodthirsty brother Romulus seems eminent. Remus, knowing he can't defeat his brother, seeks help with his father Mars. That does not go as planned.

I begin to see who these earlier incarnations of the characters in book one are. It gets more and more interesting. Lovely series so far!

Themes: the origins of death, Rome, Janus, Hekate, witch of winter.

This addition is another fun story for the series. Characters from the story are developed and introduced in the prior books of the series, however, I think it would be entertaining even if you haven't read the previous stories. This book takes place at the founding of Rome and offers an interesting retelling of the legend of the founding brothers.
