Xander Shows Me My Prostate #1

Xander Shows Me My Prostate: A Spicy Gay Awakening MM Romance

Rate this book
When Luka's adventurous best friend persuades him to try something new, the last thing the eighteen-year-old expects is to get caught. Far from being shocked, though, Xander has some suggestions of his own about how Luka can coax more pleasure from his body. Especially if he's willing to take advantage of some extra hands.

Older, more experienced, and painfully hot, Xander is everything Luka wants to be in his early-twenties. Hero worship and hormones make for a dangerous combination, though, and while bisexual Xander may have an arrangement with his girlfriend to play away, that doesn't include catching feelings.

Luka thought he was straight. Xander thought he could keep things purely physical. But as Luka's self-exploration grows more intense, and his relationship with Xander gets more intimate, a decision neither guy expected to face could upend their lives completely.

"Xander Shows Me My Prostate" is a high-heat gay romance from the author of "College Wrestler Secrets" and "Farmed Out" that's intended for adult readers. This second edition has been re-edited and updated.

Born in the UK, and now living in California, I'm a gay writer with a love of coming-of-age stories and high heat-levels.

I've always had an overactive imagination, and have been a contributor to free online archives of m/m stories for some years. In 2015 my first published novel, Jock Auction, was released with Loose Id.

When I'm not writing about guys exploring their sexual identities, I'm a food-loving geek who can't get over the fact that California weather is so much nicer than it is back in Britain.

Probably more like 2.9 stars since this is 300-something pages of pure smut. That title is hilariously accurate, and I appreciated the no-nonsense tone. Not a lot of jumping through hoops to rationalize the unapologetic sex romp these two are about to go on. It wasn't until the very last scene when The Feelings Talk must be delayed so they can fuck again that their inability to keep their hands off each other annoyed me. (Plus that scene would be much more satisfying as a reader if the talk happens first. If that's not taught in Erotic Romance 101, it should be :)

There's an overuse of a couple of terms, the MC's inner dialogue gets a little repetitive at times, and there are two issues that are acknowledged but never addressed that frustrated me to different extents, but all that happens between sex scenes and is therefore a very small part of the book because seriously: Pure Smut.

I will keep this author in mind next time I find my TBR running at a smut deficit. Assuming I can read for free like I did with this one.

I’m having so much fun discovering Alex Pendragon’s voice and narrative style. The last book I read by him was a romance-free erotica, so I was curious to see how he would handle a story where emotions take center stage. Xander Shows Me My Prostate struck a fantastic balance between his unmistakably erotic flair and a genuine love story. What I appreciated most is that, even within a romance framework, nothing felt conventional. The result was refreshing and surprisingly tender.

Luka and Xander’s journey is rooted in sexual exploration and self-discovery, pairing an experienced partner with someone navigating many firsts. That contrast fuels the entire dynamic.

I especially loved living inside Luka’s head throughout the novel. He’s soft, endearing, a little naïve, and deeply human. After coming from Lincoln’s POV in Riley’s Basement (yes, I’m still thinking about him), the shift was striking. Luka’s vulnerability made me want to wrap him up and help him build confidence. Several moments where his self-doubt surfaced genuinely tugged at my heart.

It’s always impressive when an author makes me fall hard for a character without giving me their POV — and Xander absolutely stole the show. He was incredible with Luka, endlessly attentive, generous with praise, and completely undone by him. Watching how deeply Luka occupied his thoughts was beautiful.

Together, they were both achingly sweet and next-level steamy. Alex Pendragon truly delivers when it comes to spice — no holding back.

I loved almost everything about this book: the unapologetic heat, but also the quieter scenes where Luka and Xander simply talked and connected. Those moments grounded the story and made the intimacy hit even harder.

There were a few instances where certain ideas felt slightly repetitive, but nothing that diminished my enjoyment.

Special mention goes to Dan, Luka’s best friend. He reminded me a lot of Lincoln from Riley’s Basement — perpetually horny and unapologetically obsessed with sex. I’m already excited for his book; it promises to be one hell of a ride. 😆 Very likely my next Alex Pendragon read.

Despite the title this one was a really sweet romance while also being extremely filthy and hot. 🤷‍♂️

Five Stars!

Yup. Well deserved. Totally earned. This is the first time I read an Alex Pendragon book that feels like an actual romance in the stricter sense of the word. The other books I've read are more about straight guys discovering their bisexuality via lots of kinky sex with friends/neighbors/roommates/strangers. This though, ah. This was lovely. Hot as fuck, but also just generally lovely.

I really liked Xander. Luka was alright, but Xander. Man. I'll never not be into the "older guy falling first" thing, especially when he uses his experience to bring clarity to the situation instead of confusing the poor younger guy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Alex Pendragon writes with soul.

I could have done with a tiny bit more drama. Maybe something to do with the girlfriend or Dan, but that's just me. This was a fine read nevertheless, and I'm still 100% satisfied.

Okay, maybe 97% satisfied.

I did have a tiiiny little problem with Dan. I really could have done without him. Didn't feel right for him and Luka to be that kind of friends when Luka's literally just discovering his attraction to men. I feel like I wouldn't have minded if the romantic elements hadn't be so strong in this story, but as one would have it, Luka and Xander are crushing on each other, maybe even falling in love. I don't see why we needed to have Dan jerking off all over Luka and Luka just shrugging it off. Didn't feel right. It was kind of sleazy from Dan's part, and it doesn't make me very excited about reading his book. I think I'm gonna skip it actually. You know what? I'll just say it, fuck you, Dan. Go jerk off somewhere else.

And yes, I know I just said I could have done with a bit more drama, but that's because the Dan-jerks-off-on-Luka thing didn't amount to anything. Luka shrugged it off. If he'd been confused, annoyed, upset, or maybe even felt a little bit violated, that would have been good. That would have been reasonable. I can see Xander shrugging it off, but not virginal, insecure, confused Luka. I needed a reaction from him that wasn't just "Dude, you're disgusting, are you hard right now?" quickly followed by "Okay, just come on my face already." Like, what?

I'm sure glad my parents don't read my reviews.

Heat Factor: More than not, really

Character Chemistry: Surprisingly wholesome, all things considered

Plot: Luka gets caught trying to find his prostate by his sister’s friend, and sexual awakenings ensue

Overall: I thought this was going to be pure erotica, but it’s actually very romantic

So, you might recall that I mentioned this book when I reviewed I Knew I Was In Trouble: A MM Friends to Lovers Romance (which turned out to be more of a compelling journey of self discovery than pure erotica), and I don’t know why Pendragon didn’t suggest this as a romance, because it is definitely a romance (an extremely erotic romance, granted) with an HFN.

This was such a fantastic spicy romance story. After reading Riley's Basement, I had to check more of this author out. I was so happy that this one ended in an HEA! Luka's friend Dan got him to start exploring himself more. Xander his sister's friend walks in on him and helps him find his prostate 😏😉🥵🥵. This leads to more hook ups. Things get complicated as Xander has a gf arrangement. These two develop feelings and eventually get their HEA just the two of them 🥹. The smut in this was filthy, sexy, and soooo hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I loved how Xander was so confident and dominant. While Luka was very insecure and inexperienced. These two were perfect for each other. I can't wait to read more by this author. Definitely checking out Dan's story next.

This was just what I needed! Obviously I read this because of the title and the level of spice. It was such an awesome read. Yes, very spicy. But also so sweet. A Bi awakening story where Luka is challenged to explore that special spot while jacking off by his best friend Dan. While he is in the middle of his exploration session, Xander walks into his room. WELL, Xander has had a bit of a crush for sometime, and of course would love to be a pal, and help with this task! Don't over think it, it feels good bro. As the story evolves these two sweeties explore each other in more detail the relationship evolves. This was a super fun spicy story that was perfect in between my heavier comfort reads. I had the best time reading and I am all in for Dan's story next!

Filthy but oddly sweet. If I could compare it to something I would compare it to brown butter sea salt chocolate chip cookies. Sweet, slightly savory, with a surprising little something that sneaks in.

Honestly, this is immediately getting added to the reread pile. Very elite. Very exclusive. It felt taboo adjacent which scratched a nice little itch.

My first book from Alex was Rileys Basement, which I highly recommend if you're looking for something fun and filthy. Which got me looking into more of his books. This title cracked me up and I was needing to change things up.
I loved it! there's actually some sweet times in it and a sorta HEA type ending. Definitely going to keep reading more of these stories 🖤🔥
