The Puckable Playbook

Rate this book
When college journalist, Lenore, finds herself trapped rooming with a hockey player, she’s anything but thrilled. After all, Len despises athletes; too cocky, too entitled, and definitely not included in her long-term goals. With a lengthy list of ex roommates, however, she doesn’t exactly have a choice.

Coming off a bad breakup with his new roomie’s best friend, Zaiah isn’t exactly happy either, but it’s better than the alternative. He’s signed all of her stupid contracts (No puck bunnies? No problem), and is hoping to finish out his senior year in peace until…

He notices Len has a little crush on her editor, and before he knows it, he’s agreeing to be her dating coach.

Their goal: Make this wallflower more puckable.

The problem: He may have just made her into his perfect girl, and now he has to stand by as she uses her new moves on someone who definitely doesn’t deserve her.

Can Zaiah turn the athlete hating word princess into a hockey lover? Or will old fears and prejudices keep them both from scoring the ultimate goal?

eh

These two were never going to make it. She would end up breaking them up. I hate how she changed in the book. She doesn’t even have trauma just her own self is the problem. Oh my dad worked so much? Yeah it must stink not worrying about how to pay for college.

Zaiah and Len share a common denominator of heartache: a narcissistic ex lover and ex bestie, respectively. Watching them heal and grow from that is satisfying, and the best part is the catalyst for their healing is found in each other.

The first half of the book is on the humorous side, and the second half throws us into more serious waters as they tackle an actual relationship. Len learns how to be brave with communication, and Zaiah overcomes his insecurities about hockey and love.

My favorite part is how both commit to love one another even when it isn't easy. They aren't perfect at it, but neither give up. They continue to grow together as a couple and not just as lonely, broken people healing from their past.

Zaiah's family is amazing, and as I always do in my reviews, I'm gonna sing the praises of a supportive family. Len fits right in and takes her rightful spot in their circle.

The blend of funny and heavy is balanced well, and I had my cowbell out to cheer for Len and Zaiah to reach their happy ending!

The Puckable Playbook was a refreshingly endearing read. Hockey player Zaiah (Isaiah) is not the arrogant & self-assured guy you would assume he'd be. In fact he is the complete opposite of that in this book. Made more obvious when he tries to become Len's (Lenore FMC) roommate. They have history together or more so an Ex-friend and Ex-Girlfriend. When a mutual opportunity to help each other out pops up things start to heat up between them. I loved Len & Zaiah's relationship together. It was genuinely sweet and steamy. This was another great read in The Warner University Bulldogs series and I've enjoyed reading every book in it so far.

3.5 ⭐️ I really liked this one, they were super sweet together. The character development for Len was great, the third act should I say wobble not breakup was frustrating. I felt like it was a little rushed in the end but overall I loved them together it was super sweet.

“I was a ghost even before ghosting became cool.”

There were a lot of things that I enjoyed about this book. If the “conflict” and conflict resolution weren’t so…. blasé I probably would have rated it higher.

Lenore and Zaiah have history and when he needs something from her, she creates an idea to help make their cohabitation bearable - or so she thinks. Teach me to get the guy. That’s the deal. Be my relationship advice guy because I can’t fall for you (again).

“Just like when Trish stole his attention, disappointment surrounds me. I had his interest for point three seconds and then bam, something better came along.

Len has seriously insecurity issues and to be honest it kind of grates throughout the book. There are a lot of references to her not being good enough, even though her character is someone who is a play maker. Those two things just don’t line up in my head.

“When I look at all of her, I get overwhelmed. She’s…beautiful, and I feel like an ass for thinking it. The right clothes and a little makeup shouldn’t make this much of a difference. I’ve never been a shallow person.”

Zaiah is that typical “I didn’t realize she was so beautiful until she starts wearing clothes that hug her curves and she’s making an effort for another dude.” I get it, it’s a trope. The movie She’s All That exists for a reason. What I didn’t love is that he is kind of douche the entire time. Not in a way that is off putting to everyone else but definitely in a way that was off putting to me. She put in this serious effort to give him his dreams and his whole poor pity me was excruciating. Asking her to do something to benefit him even though he knows it’s a nonstarter… bro really? Even in his POV he acknowledges he’s a prick but doesn’t want to address it or change. Add on to the fact that his “grovel” was subpar and it just didn’t redeem him in my eyes. I need them to be redeemed to love the book. While I realize this is a personal preference, it does actively change my ratings.

The Puckable Playbook de E. M. Moore Serie Warner University Bulldogs libro 2

Argumento:

Can someone tell me how long MMC and Trish even dated? And why they didnt address her breaking into their room more.

It was ok. It got pretty boring after they got together. She was inventing problems. You can not be all secretive about all your articles and then bitched because he wasnt more excited about it. She literally went behind his back the whole time with her work.

She went through all that trouble to get them noticed just to cry because he didn't make it about her. She could have celebrated the win with him, and then they could have celebrated her then next day. She did to him what Clark did to her with her Bubbles celebration. I felt like she only did all that stuff just for the pat on the back.

Overall a cute story but…

I loved the story at first. I thought it was so cute and the spice was great. The issue for me was the last conflict for the couple. It made me really dislike the fmc. I didn’t want to root for them. If the conflict was different, I’d probably say 4 or 5 stars.

I am hoping this is not the last installment of the Warner University crowd. I’ve enjoyed the antics they get into, but it would be nice to see books about some of the side characters, too. As well as, updates on past characters.

How do you reconcile that a friend you have had since forever has now gone rogue? After years of saving to get to college with you, years of talking about it, and years of working hard to get there, she just jumped the track. But more in an obvious, mean, and vindictive way. Trish had always known before coming to the college that Len hated her name, Lenore. Upon entering college especially, she gave her the name Nor. Trish felt Len sounded too manly.

However, Lenore Robertson. He waited until I met his stare. She hated the name Nor, and no matter how many times she told Trish, it only reinforced Trish’s efforts. So she stopped. Then, there was this guy on campus that Len caught his eye while wearing Trish’s dress. While she went to change, Trish took over the end game, meaning Zaiah (Isaiah)James got the bait and switch. Thinking when he came up, he was going to meet the girl he saw in the window. The one that answered the door presented herself as the same one he saw in the window.

Hurting Len’s feelings of course, but she would never out her friend. And if a dumb hockey boy didn't know the difference, that’s on him. So when Trish started two-timing Isaiah she first confronted her but said he knew. It just didn’t sit well because it was just speculation. But when she got the proof, oh yeah she made sure he got it. She couldn’t stand him being backstabbed. Boy, oh boy, did the feathers fly from there. Trish became unhinged. Verbally abusing Len for putting her nose in it. Because at that point she had hardly been staying at their place, opting to stay with the new guy.

But then you begin to unravel the mess called Trish. Now, fast forward to the start of their senior year. Len is dedicated to working on the newspaper while crushing, this year on Clark Davis (Clark Kent Superman look alike.) The Editor of The Warner Gazette, the paper who if you listen to Flora her office buddy, and at best her only friend, takes advantage of Len. I feel is true he can't seem to do or make a decision without her input, hence, he gets the praise for her work. Len is working on why the clocktower is no longer working, and as well as why it stopped or broke.

Also, why it was never fixed when it originally stopped working? There is something in the works behind the scenes that will send Len into the boards as you will. When Len’s world and Zaiah’s world come back together it lands with a hard thump. They didn't really dislike each other but the person who supposedly brought them together. But, what Zaiah was asking of her was too much. However, Zaiah was willing to sign any crazy contract that he knew would be nonbinding because he had all the rights to the suite because he was a senior just as she was. Although she wasn't prepared for his early arrival at all. The whole thing was throwing her considering he was her obsession for during the time he dated Trish. The guy was built like a Mr. Atlas.

I loved this book because not only do you see the shy girl confront her old friend (used loosely) bully, but Len also saw through the guy who was thinking she was an easy lay. However, she wasn't going to allow the man she loved to act out blaming her for not doing more when he’s done nothing. When it’s been her pushing him along trying to keep his spirits up about the tapes she created and distributed. Yet, not once did he acknowledge interest in any of her articles outside that she published, especially one in particular. Even when it was just the two of them.

The Puckable Playbook is the third installment in the Warner University Bulldogs series taking a break from West and the popular footballers and shining a light on the negative impact it has by devaluing the other sports at the university. This author has finally boarded the hockey hype train, creating her own unique hockey romance story. I know once this author got on board that it would blow all other hockey romance stories out of the park and for me it did! This author can literally write anything, dark or light romance, gang or sports, paranormal or contemporary and it'll be amazing in such an effortless way.

Lenore is the main FMC, it's a unique sweet name that matches the characters personality to perfection! Lenore is the shy nerdy girl with glasses, she has such low confidence due to her own self-belief and desire to be seen and due to unwittingly choosing the wrong friend who's narcissism has only further kept her down. Her character and personality was so relatable because I was able to connect with her on such a deep level, in a lot of ways I could see myself in Lenore which just made me love her even more. She's trying to extract herself out from under this suffocating shadow of her successful father who made it from nothing and everyone knows. She loves him and wants to be like him independent and make it on her own which makes them so similar but thats where they also clash. She's his daughter and he loves her just as much, he's down to earth and wants the best for her which he can give her but struggles to realise that unlike most people she doesn't want her dad's handouts but to make it on her own just like he did.

Zaiah portrays himself as the typical jock, chasing puck bunnies if there are any, arrogant, charming but with how low the university campus views hockey he takes a massive dip to his confidence. after falling prey to the same narcissistic person Len did, once they really hang out with Trish, Zaiah sees the true Len and of course he falls for he instantly and hard. She accepts him for who he is where others have put him down she loves those bits especially his loving quirky extremely proud family!

Overall, the first two words that come to mind to sum up the story is realistic and relatable. The characters and the problems they face are so reminiscent of real life that the reader can almost forget that it's a story and not actually happening. Filled with lots of spicy scenes, and the importance of self-worth and finding that one person who is going to raise you up rather than bring you down. It also highlights the toxicity expressed in the most insecure of people, how manipulative and self-centred they can be that they have to bring other down to make themselves feel better. Really interesting and thought provocative read!

"Who doesn’t want to be seen? Who doesn’t want all the little parts of them to be bare to the world and accepted?" This, in essence, is half of what this story is about; feeling seen by those you love. The other half is about dreaming large, believing in yourself, and finding someone who will encourage you and lift you up while you chase your dreams.

I was a little surprised when I saw the next Bulldogs book would be a hockey romance since we haven't seen any hockey yet in this series, but I was so pleasantly surprised by Len, Zaiah, and the whole Hockey crew. It was refreshing to read a hockey romance where not every player is headed to the NHL because, let's face it, that's not the reality for the majority of collegiate hockey players. I also appreciated the journey for Zaiah to keep playing as we don't often hear about the AHL option many players take. Len's development from Wallflower looking for a dating coach, to the strong independent woman she is, gave me all the warm fuzzies, so to speak.

Of course, the main reason we're all here is for the love story of Len and Zaiah. They were just too cute not to love. The fact that he called her "sweetie" was enough to melt any cold heart. There was a moment when I felt like they were continuing to have the same argument with each other, which got a bit tedious, but overall, they were such a sweet pair to read about, and I really felt they loved each other in a deep, and real way.

I did wish for a little more detail into Len's relationship with her father to fully understand their dynamic. Additionally, I would have liked a few flashbacks of when Trish was in the picture, again, just for more understanding of their history.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and getting to spend more time in the Warner world. I'm looking forward to more stories and can't wait for the next read!

I thought this was an interesting one in the series. I really felt book 1, wasn't really hooked on book 2 and was worried about this one. Would I like it, love it or neither? I'm happy to say I did love it. It had interesting characters with things you can relate to.

Let's talk about Zaiah first. He's a hockey player for Warner University. The team is far from popular. His parents and sister are some of the only people in the crowd for any of their games. The football team is popular, not hockey. While he'd love to see more fans, he's just out there playing the game and enjoying it. He does need to find somewhere new to live though. He can't stand his current living situation and needs something new. Learning his new potential place would mean his new roommate is his ex-girlfriend's best friend makes things interesting.

Lenore is the girl that basically lives in the shadows. Her ex best friends was always taking advantage of her. She'd use her as an alibi when she'd cheat on her boyfriend (Zaiah) until Lenore had had enough. Aside from that, the guy she likes thinks she's basically blah and boring.

To sum it up, Zaiah needs somewhere to stay and Lenore has a room available. Housing does match them up, but he's willing to help Lenore out with dating lessons to make the whole moving in together thing easier on the both of them. Dating lessons quickly turns into more but hearts still get broken. But man it's great how Lenore is an adult and tells Zaiah when he hurts her feelings and how he hurt them. It's not petty or juvenile either. What he does is legitimately hurtful and I can see how he'd not realize it in the moment. I have nothing but respect for her using her words to tell him how she feels and for his when he listens. It does take him a little bit of time to act upon the things he hears, but when it clicks, he makes things right with the best grand gestures ever.

I’m so lucky to have been accepted on to Moores ARC team and I was beyond ecstatic to have the chance to read this!

Another masterpiece from Warner U Bulldogs. I really like the tension that’s created by the fact that the hockey team aren’t seen as the gods of the school. Most hockey romances centre around the team being amazing and the players all going to the NHL and I love that this isn’t the case at Warner.

Len is lovely. She’s got some growing up to do and in all honesty I judge her for her choice in men (🦸🏻‍♂️ enough said). Her relationship with her dad raises some challenge but the family she finds in Zaiahs is just wonderful. She’s a little bit prickly but I like that she doesn’t just roll over and take it when Z is being a 🍆. She puffs up like a hedgehog and gives as good as she gets.

Zaiah wants you to think he’s the confident hockey player you’re used to reading about but he’s actually an adorable golden retriever with a dirty mouth and we are here for it. I love the way he and Len (eventually) support each other and the moment he realises what’s standing in front of him is perfect. Damn these blind stupid boys 🤣.

I’m sure you’ll love this as much as I did but honestly it’s everything. If you want hockey. Spice. Drama and some freaky blue wigs then this is the book for you! ♥️

Have you ever picked up a book or a series that 100% hooked you in a way no other has for a very long time ? That played on all your emotions in ways you never saw coming , to the point there were moments you were speechless and then bam you found yourself yelling outta pure frustration . That made you smile , made you laugh out loud and kept you rooting so freaking hard ? Well E.M Moores Warner University Bulldogs series is that series for me . First we got Kenna and West’s story in The Comeback Pact , then came Aiden and Bailey’s love story in The Midseason Fale out ( both of which I an absolutely adored . Now in The Puckable Playbook comes Lenore and Zaiah’s journey and it does not disappoint. In fact they just might be my favorite couple so far. Lenore who a college journalist who gets the surprise of her life when she finds out her new college roommate is not other than Zaiah ( the playboy , the cocky hockey player ) well that’s who she assumes he is ( he was also the boyfriend of her ex best friend so in her head he’s a total player . But truth be told that’s just a act . Underneath there is so more to him then meets the eye . He’s kind , supportive, protective , patient and do.anything for the people he loves . Circumstances bring there two together and from that moment on everything changes . The angst , the humor , the witty banter , the heartbreaking, heartwarming and oh so steamy moments, the drama , the passion, the love , the secrets , the family and friendships. I really do feel like I was just taken on the ride of my life and completely blown away in all the best ways . If you are a fan of Hockey - college sports romance/ opposites attract, enemies to lovers / forced proximity and roommate/ fake dating then you are not going to want to miss this amazing series . It truly is chefs kiss 💋

The cute nerd and the sexy hockey player -- what a duo that was. What started off as Lenore needing a new roommate and Zaiah needing to move due to his roommate being so loud and dirty, he just couldn't handle it anymore. When Zaiah saw that Lenore needed a roommate, he immediately decided to go talk to her face-to-face instead of going through the housing staff first. The first meeting didn't go too well but he wasn't about to give up. The sad part was that Len already knew who he was and that she had a mad crush on him when he was dating her ex-best friend. Turns out that girl was not a good person because she even did Zaiah wrong.

Well all in all, he eventually becomes her roommate and good friends. She asks him for advice on how to talk to a guy because she has a major crush on her editor. But little does she know that he's totally the wrong guy for her, but she'll find out eventually ;). Zaiah starts giving her advice but in giving her advice, he starts realizing that she's one hell of a beautiful girl and funny and sweet. All the attributes he had never noticed until now.

Will Zaiah show his true colors and let Len know how he's really feeling for her or will he keep helping her to try get with her editor?

This book was so freaking sweet. Zaiah and Len had such great chemistry and their banter was so cute. Loved how she wouldn't shy down and tell him what she really thought when he was being selfish, as she should.

All in all, this book was just too darn adorable and the characters were definitely lovable.

I loved Len and Zaiah. This book was my favorite of the Warner Universe. The two together were so cute and supportive of each other. Both growing and learning that communication is key to any relationship. I’ll be honest and say I was not a fan of Len after the big game. I felt she needed to give Zaiah a little slack. There was no way he could have read her article in the amount of time he had from the end of the game to pulling up on campus. If he hadn’t acknowledged her efforts to help the hockey team before the end of the night, I think that would have been an issue. But it was part of his growth. In the end Zaiah is the golden retriever boyfriend we all wish we had in real life. So sweet and caring. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
Plot:
When college journalist, Lenore, finds herself trapped rooming with a hockey player, she’s anything but thrilled. After all, Len despises athletes—too cocky, too entitled, and definitely not included in her long-term goals. With a lengthy list of ex-roommates, however, she doesn’t exactly have a choice.

Coming off a bad breakup with his new roomie’s best friend, Zaiah isn’t exactly happy either, but it’s better than the alternative. He’s signed all of her stupid contracts (No puck bunnies? No problem.), and is hoping to finish out his senior year in peace until…

Can Zaiah turn the athlete-hating word princess into a hockey lover? Or will old fears and prejudices keep them both from scoring the ultimate goal?

Where to start! The Puckable Playbook is "pucking" amazing. Lenore "Len" Robertson has had a string of bad roommates and has finally ditched her last disaster. Hockey player Isaiah "Zaiah" James has also had bad luck with roommates, but when he hears Len has a spare room in her suite up for grabs, he sees his chance. The only issue- Len is the ex-best friend of his cheating ex-girlfriend. Even with the bad history between them, Len and Zaiah hit it off, and soon Zaiah is offering to help Len get the attention of her crush by being her dating coach. But soon, Zaiah starts to see the gorgeous, smart girl hiding under the baggy clothes and prickly personality, and he wants her for himself.

If you are interested in a golden retriever MMC with a seriously dirty mouth 🥵🥵 and a strong-willed FMC who is learning to see her worth, this is THE book for you!

Quotes:

"You're my North Star. All I have to do is look to you, and I know which direction I should be going in."

"I'll kiss you because I want to, Len, and for no other reason. Do you understand?"

"I could write my own stories in her lips. In her body. In her."

Review:
🏒The Puckable Playbook🏒
Warner University Bulldogs #3

By E.M. Moore

⭐ 5/5 ❤️ 5/5

🏒 College Romance
🏒 Second Chance
🏒 Hockey Romance

Lenore
Smart, shy and hockey disliker

Isaiah
Hockey Player, nice and sweet

Len and Zaiah

A college romance you don’t want to miss because it has it all.
We follow the journey of Len and Zaiah here. Two sweet characters who get their second chance with the right person this time.
He is her ex best friend's ex boyfriend and in need of a place to live in peace and quiet.
She has had her fair share of disastrous roommates and just needs someone nice and quiet.
They made a contract and it went well despite their difficult past. When Zaiah discovers her secret crush on someone and how that turns out, he offers her his help. As a dating coach.
But the more he gets into this the more he sees the girl behind the baggy clothes and gruff personality. A smart and beautiful one. And realizes he has turned her into someone he would be perfect for himself.
And watching her make her moves he only wants to turn the tables. But a girl that obviously hates hockey, would she even consider him.
There is a give and take between them. She can help him too. It follows hurt feelings, missing appreciation and groveling. Both needed to learn about the other one and think about each other's feelings. But that made it so real and relatable.
The ending was truly perfect, as it should be. We see that everything is possible.
I really liked his family and her dad too. The perfect addition. Zaiah’s teammates too.
Story and characters were very well written. They have their flaws and not everything is always wonderful and easy. I loved them both, separately and together.

This book is a hockey standalone in E.M. Moore's Warner universe.

I have loved just about everything I have read from E.M. Moore. She was an author that I found early on when I got back into reading, and she's still an author that I will continue to read.

This book was so wholesome and swoon worthy. Len had self-esteem issues stemming from some toxic past friendships, and Zaiah had his heart broken by that same toxic person. Together, they support each other and help each other succeed. The pacing was great, the writing style was great, and the characters have good depth to them. I tried guessing how the story would end, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was incorrect.

The spice in this book had my blushing, and I think it was from how sweet it was. The relationship that they build together to finally get their happy ending is so solid. They can tell the other what they need to work through their issues and come out on the other side stronger for it. Seeing how supportive Zaiah's family is towards him and towards Len was heartwarming.

I hope to see some cameos from Len and Zaiah in upcoming books. I love seeing the overlap of characters from her other works.

This book is lighter than my normal reads, and I don't believe that there are any triggers. So enjoy!

Great story of college love!

Romantic and realistic- a rare combination in romance... the highs and lows, the euphoria and insecurities, the give-and-take. Especially in regards to a young woman demanding an equal recognition for her work from her sweet but sometimes clueless hockey boyfriend. I think 95% of men would have gotten @ngry and dUmped her on the spot. But shockingly, boyfriend listened, introspected and then acted and redeemed himself. These are both interesting and complicated, but basically decent , young people who deserve each other. I like how neither of them became a cliche, and the plot stayed true to their characters. Where was Zaiah when I was in college??

Tropes:

* MF Contemporary
* college/ sports romance
* golden retriever- cinnamon roll hockey playing MMC
* smart, nerdy, little-bit insecure college reporter FMC (that hates hockey/ sports)
* her ex-best friend's ex-boyfriend
* now roommates
* she fell first; he fell for her then friend
* now she has a crush on someone else
* he's her romance tutor
* she has a glow up
* he gets smart
* she has secrets
* she tells him her secrets 50% into book (that's refreshing!)
* dating
* she supports him/ he takes her for granted
* "I am woman, hear me roar"
* he grovels so romantically!
* HEA

Seppy's 5-Star Review:

Lenore or Len is the cute nerd who needs a new roommate and Zaiah is the hot hockey player who needs to move out because his roommate thinks their space is a party 24/7. Zaiah decided it would be best to talk to Lenore about being roommates in person instead of going through the university's housing department. Lenore knew who Zaiah was, her ex-best friend's boyfriend, whom she secretly had a crush on. She couldn't share an apartment with him? Could she?

Zaiah moves in and these two connect, Zaiah wants Len to write an article about the hockey team to boost school attendance and Len wants help being noticed by guys, especially her editor. What happens next? You'll have to one-click this one to see what happens next.

Zaiah and Len have amazing chemistry and I love how they are there for each other as they get to know each other. Zaiah isn't an overconfident, cocky type of hot hockey player. He is a sweet guy who finally sees what he is missing the whole time. Sure it took a while and the ride to the end was worth it. I loved their banter and how opposites attract. That they care about what is important to the other person. I loved it. E.M. Moore always writes amazing books and this one doesn't disappoint.

Swoon! 😍 This is one helleuva a beautiful story and how Lenore & Zaiah grow together together will honestly fill your heart!

I am in LOVE with the Warner world and this book absolutely continues to knock this series out the friggin park! EM Moore has created yet another masterpiece!

Len & Zaiah are opposites that connect and Len's growth and backbone grows within the story. This wallflower definately turns Puckable! 😍 Zaiah is not the jock you think he is, he has a heart of gold even if his actions leave you screaming at your Kindle!

Damn, Lenore with his family. There is nothing more beautiful that when your family welcome someone they've never met before and this is all love and laughter. This really resonates in my heart as a huge WIN!

"𝙰𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎, 𝚠𝚎 𝚛𝚎𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚊𝚠𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎. 𝚆𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚠𝚎 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚎. 𝙰𝚕𝚕 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚢. 𝙰𝚕𝚕 𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚕𝚊𝚠𝚜 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 𝚋𝚎𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚞𝚕 𝚜𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚕𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚠𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚎𝚊𝚌𝚑 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛, 𝚏𝚊𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚊𝚕𝚕."

Can we appreciate the ending of this book it's absolutely swoonworthy and completely left me feeling all sorts of emotions and LOVE!!

The Puckable Playbook #3 in the Warner University Bulldogs by E.M. Moore

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶️🌶️

What to expect

College sports romance
Opposites attract
Friends to lovers
Dating coach
Forced proximity

I love Erin’s writing style, she has a lovely way of drawing her readers into her story and to feel completely invested in her characters. This book is no different, the third in the series based in Warner University.

Both characters have baggage and have been let down by those close to them. I do love a dating/teach me element in a book and this one gives me all the feels!
🏒🏒🏒
Zaiah notices that Len has a little crush on her editor, and before he knows it, he’s agreeing to be her dating coach.

Their goal: Make this wallflower more puckable.

The problem: He may have just made her into his perfect girl, and now he has to stand by as she uses her new moves on someone who definitely doesn’t deserve her.

Can Zaiah turn the athlete-hating word princess into a hockey lover? Or will old fears and prejudices keep them both from scoring the ultimate goal?
🏒🏒🏒

I recommend reading this series of interconnected standalones.

So typically, I would start off telling you to read your trigger warnings, but this book is pretty safe. it’s a cute, swoony, hockey romance you love to love.

Len is a great fmc. She’s funny, witty and sweet. She might be too shy to talk to Clark and be a women he might notice but she doesn’t hold back when it comes to zaiah. She has no issues telling him what makes her happy.

Zaiah is this charming guy who really is a better guy than I think he puts off. Though in the beginning hearing him talk about his ex made me jealous that Len wasn’t her but it worked out well for both of them anyway.

The banter in this book was a+. I love a good banter and can’t get enough of it. It really makes it more enjoyable. You find yourself waiting for the next time. Of course it was super sweet and I really enjoyed how hockey wasn’t the “it” sport. I feel like it gave zaiah a more realistic and less untouchable vibe we see a lot. Plus E. M. knows how to spice them up.

4 out of 5 stars.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ out of five.

This book is a good palette cleanser if you need something that won’t keep you on edge the whole time! Enjoy!

“I’m a flawed man. I don’t deserve this. I don’t deserve Len, but as long as she’ll keep by my side, I’ll try for her.”

I’ll be honest at first I wasn’t to sure about this book, but once it got going I quickly fell in love with these two. Zaiah was super sweet, at times headstrong, and worse a little self sided. But the boy loves Len with his whole entire heart. I loved watching him fight to right the wrongs throughout this book.
Len really had a glow up in this book! From shy and lonely girl dreaming about her editor to spunky and confident writer who knows her worth.

“You’re special, Lenore, and I’m going to make sure you know it for as long as you allow me to.”

I’m super sad that there wasn’t an epilogue as I’d love to see what the next steps of these two characters would’ve been.

“There isn’t anything that can tear us apart when we grow together. Two people who care enough to work with each other. Who want to see the other win in the best of ways. Who will be by the others side while they do it and be the first to don the party hat.”

This is the third book of the Warner University Bulldog Series. This book is about cute college journalist Len and Hockey boy Zaiah. Len has a lengthy list of roommates that didn’t work out for her and once again she is looking for a roommate. Then we have Zaiah needing to move because his roommate is not the cleanest and is very noisy. But when Zaiah saw that Len needing a roommate he took off immediately to go to go talk to her instead of going to house authority first. That meeting didn’t go as plan, but that wasn’t going to stop Zaiah from talking to her. Eventually they became roommates and also very good friends. Zaiah finds out Len has a crush on her editor. So Len makes a decision to ask Zaiah to help her look more dateable and give her advice. But what Len doesn’t know is he isn’t the guy for her. After helping her out for awhile he is starting to realize he is falling for her. He’s finally starting to see how smart and beautiful she is. Will Zaiah finally tell her how she feels or continue to help her get the guy that isn’t good for her???

What a pucking ride!

This book was such a fun read. I love that it showed real struggles that you see in everyday relationships no matter how great they are. I really loved the banter between Zaiah and Len. I also enjoyed seeing the character development of both characters.

Len starts out as a this shy, timid, self conscious wallflower and by the end you can see how she comes into her own and becomes a strong and fearless fighter.

Zaiah started off with amazing golden retriever vibes and continues to show them throughout the book, but also shows that even when you have the best intentions, you can still fall down and make mistakes. I loved seeing the two of them grow as people and then grow as a couple.

Overall I loved the book, my only complaint is I wanted more. I wasn’t ready for it to end. I would love to eventually get a bonus epilogue for all three books to just se where they are now. I definitely would recommend this book to all of my reader friends!

Most of the time when reading a juicy, romance you often find yourself looking at the fmc and wondering how cool is She going to be. Are you going to like her? Is she a bad ... Is she whiny because sometimes those characteristics bother you and sometimes they make you like them more. Len is special. She is thoughtful and kind, very loving and she is a great addition to the story. But, Zaiah!?! He is the ultimate book boyfriend! I love that he gets to know Len and doesn't immediately try to take her to bed. He is thoughtful and his family, is the best! They really add to the story.

I was hoping for a.different ending, but I hope we get more details in the best one. Maybe Iz will get a story, because she.definitely needs one!

This is my favorite in the series. I can't wait for more!

Cute hockey story

This was a great read that I read very quickly!

I enjoyed the ease of these characters and the fact that there wasn't heaps of drama with the whole a boy meets girl, boy messes up, girl breaks up with boy, boy redeems himself and boy and girl are back together again.
I enjoyed the story arc!

I loved that we got to see Len enjoy herself if you know what I mean lol

I liked that Len was this quirky and awkward women who loved what she loved but also had this massive insecurity about herself that she grew out off.

I will say that I did get annoyed with "the problem" between the couple, I wasn't a fan of the behaviour, but it was a reality that does happen and so it kind of worked for them.

This was a cute fuzzy book that I would recommend.

4.5 Stars. Tropes/themes for this book: ex best friend's ex boyfriend, hockey x writer, college romance, supportive family, she's all that vibes (slight), roommates, forced proximity, dating coach, relatable, understanding guy, she's learning how to be herself. I got an early copy of this book and this is my honest review. I really enjoyed Len and Zaiah's story. She was betrayed by her friend and was gaslighted so it took awhile for her to speak up for herself and others. Zaiah went through the same situation basically with the same person. They're pushed together as roommates and she asks him to be her dating coach so she can get this guy she has been crushing on. I think we all basically know how it goes from there. I loved their story and I loved his family. I will definitely be reading more by E.M. Moore.
