I was born and raised in Colorado, graduated from college with a degree in business administration and worked in fortune 500 companies and Department of Defense my entire life. My most eventful job (fires, suicide, kidnapping, etc) was apartment management for 352 units. I still live in Colorado with two brother black cats as my spoiled and beloved companions. I volunteer for a cat shelter, enjoy scrapbooking and card making, photography, and painting in watercolor and acrylic. I inherited a love for reading from my mother and grandmother and grew up talking about books at the dinner table. I was the odd child in school who knew the names of Henry VIII's wives because of that dinner talk.

I enjoyed this book. It is unusual for the female to be the vampire and the man to be the witch? Or is it wizard? What ever you call him I enjoyed the book. Especially as it's a cosy mystery and there is no gross vampire stuff, which normally puts me off. The main mystery does get solved but there is also another mystery which the main character is investigating that seems like you are going to learn a bit about with each new book. However the book does work as a standalone, especially as the author has a habit of re capping certain things her being turned one of them. The mystery was good with plenty of suspects to keep you guessing. However I think it was the characters themselves that I really liked. Misty is a great main character, even if she is a vampire, actually her being a vampire was a lot of fun. It gave her some great skills to use in her investigation and add in her romantic interest and you get drama as well as magic. I think this could be a fun series, the more it develops and questions get answered.
Misty is trying to go it alone, with her boss out of town, she has stepped up from secretary to private investigator in the hopes that she can keep the business running. Her clients and the police don't know it's just her but she has the added advantage that she is a newly turned vampire. She has to put finding the rogue vampire who turned her on the back burner when a client asks her to look into some threatening mail she has been getting. The rich spoiled client isn't willing to change her plans and needs Misty to protect her but before Misty can unpack her bags the client is killed at her own party. Misty's body guarding job has just turned into a murder investigation. Can she find the killer? The victim wasn't liked by anybody and even her house hides some deadly secrets. Secrets that Misty will have to uncover if she hopes to stop any more killings. Then she can finally get back to hunting the rogue vampire.

Too rich to live!

Under a mandate from the Council, Misty and Rowen are still searching for the rogue vampire who turned her. She is also trying to keep her boss’s detective agency going until he returns. When her client Victoria Amherst, the richest and most hated town resident, is murdered, she and Rowan are determined to find the killer. The search for the rogue vampire takes a new turn when Misty discovers she is again his target.

This story is a perfect opener for a new series. There is magic, paranormal characters, mystery, and a hint of future romance. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Who would have thought the biggest problem when becoming a vampire is overbearing men with completely outdated attitudes? Misty, newly turned vampire, is still dealing with life’s little (LOL) changes in this book as well as trying to catch a murder but I imagine what really set her teeth on edge was being told to date another vampire. While I was personally outraged on her behalf, the author made Lief the character he was and that character was a man (vampire) out of time. Hopefully, in future books we see Misty and Rowen flaunt their relationship because the rules seemed as dated as Lief’s belief that every woman needs a man. I know I am harping on a small piece of the book but I think it demonstrates the author’s ability to make us connect with a character when we share their outrage.
Now to the meet of the story. Avery’s protection gig turns into a murder investigation. Avery is uniquely suited to help as she has before, and she has access to a small pool of most likely suspects. Now we get more weirdness that set this story apart. The murder does not begin with a murder but with death threats which the author spiced up nicely with a bit of relevant history. Our victim may have been vile, but she wasn’t the only victim. Misty and Rowen also encounter a ghostly pair who needs something, and they help them find some peace. We get plenty of action in the story but I think the heart of the book is the investigation. Rowen, being a male witch, pulled some neat stunts to aid in the investigation and make it fresh and fun. Who hasn’t at one point in their life wanted an enchanted cellphone that allows you to ease drop? And then there is the locket which was really an awesome communication device. The author did a nice job of making this story unique. Her vampire origin was also unique from the pervert guy who delivered her and others to the vampire rogue to the dietary changes to vampires not catching fire, it was all her own.
Very enjoyable book and as I have the habit of doing, I jumped into a story someplace other than book 1 but have added book 1 to my kindle for future reading. I truly hop we get more of this story because we have a great group of characters and sadly, I never mentioned Winston. I guess I will catch him next time around.

This is book 2 of a series and while it’s stands up fairly well on its own I would definitely recommend reading book 1 first. Some of the things about Misty that are mentioned especially towards the end are kinda out of the blue like her power and I read book 1. This book is a combo of three storylines that run concurrently. First is the protection and then murder investigation of the town’s wealthy heiress. Second is the ghostly haunting of said heiress’s house and what happened to her and her lover. Lastly is the continuation of the investigation into the rogue vampire. For the most part they work well together as Misty balances her mundane and meta responsibilities. PS Leif is still a tool. I also think that if the rogue is going to be the continued bad guy that maybe less time on that and more time on the other two things would’ve been better. I enjoy the humor and how Misty does everything she can to stay positive but when all else fails she isn’t afraid to embrace her new lifestyle. Definitely interested in seeing what will happen with Roman and the big baddie vamp and if Misty can stay under the radar until she finally gets her PI license. Fun and funny lighthearted new series I am very much looking forward to continuing!

Second Time Around is even better than the first!

In this installment of the Accidental Vampire PI Mystery Book, Misty has another PI job. Even though she isn’t really a PI, she’s supposed to be keeping the office open while her boss is off trying to save his marriage. She is working on getting her PI license but doesn’t have it yet. So when her client ends up dead, Misty knows she has to do what she can to help the police solve the mystery. Not to mention, she also had the head vampire on her butt to find the vampire that turned her and she’s beginning to have feelings for a witch, which is a major no-no. This series is just so much fun to read. I love how Misty is trying to adapt to being a vampire, how much she cares for her cat, Winston, and really wants to do the right thing. The plots are always advancing along, I’ve become entirely invested in the characters and I really do love how adorable Winston is!

I initially struggled to get into this book. The story felt a bit slow in the beginning, with some repetitive elements from the first installment. However, as the narrative progressed, especially in the last few chapters, I found myself completely hooked and unable to put the book down.

One area I felt could have been explored more deeply was the meta council and its inner workings. I found that concept intriguing and think it could make for a fascinating focus in a future book.

Overall, while this book took some time to pick up, the payoff in the end was worth it. I'm excited to see where the story goes next and hope the upcoming installment delves more into the political and organizational layers hinted at here.

In this second book of the Accidental Vampire PI series, Misty is still adjusting to her new life as a vampire. It's not easy for her since she has a "day job" but she's determined to make it work. I like Misty and appreciate her loyalty to her boss at the detective agency who is still absent.

The mystery is challenging as Misty has numerous threads of interest from the past as well as the present. Plus, she is still being pressured by the alpha vampire to find the rogue vampire who sired her. Twists, turns, murders both in the past and the present keep Misty and Rowan busy throughout the story.

This is book 2 of Acidental Vampire PI. The book starts where book 1 stopped. It covers a little of what happened in the last book but how the main character is still trying to find the vampire that turned her. It covers of how hard it is to be a PI, especially when you are not certified and using your bosses credits. An unexpected job, a murder, and a stocker. This book is detailed where it keeps the reader into the story.

This had a great ending! I loved what Ainsley wanted to do for Helene and Franklin. That just made my day. And Caleb as well. They deserved it. As for the rest....shew. I don't like Jack at all. I don't like Leif at all. Both of them need to go away. Jack just because he's evil and Leif because he's a jack*ss. I love Misty though. She's so awesome. And Rowan just makes everything perfect. I'm hoping boom 3 comes very soon because I'm ready to read it!.

Second Time Around is Book 2 in the Accidental Vampire PI Mystery by Avery Daniels. I do not usually read vampire books, but, I think that this book is so enjoyable. Misty is not crazy about being a new vampire. One positive thing is she can understand her cat, Winston. One rule that Misty does not like is not to cross over with other paranormal. Rowen is a witch and Misty can't date him.Risen is helping her to track down the rogue vampire, Jack. They are also helping the police with a murder. I found this hard to put down! I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

I have to say went l went into this not expecting to like a "vampire" story, but I did. Misty gets turned and is still learning about her new life while trying to live her prior life. Taking a security job, we follow her exploits. Mystery and romance among cross species...part of series but back story included enough so can understand what's going on.

This is a simple series that is very easy to read. I’ve found it quite entertaining. I have liked the earlier books and am looking forward to see where the twist in the relationship between Misty and Rowen will take us. I am also wondering if there will be a darker turn with Jack. I had fun with this book and am looking forward to the next one.

In the second book of the Accidental Vampire PI series, Misty is still adjusting to becoming a vampire. On top of that she has been hired to protect Victoria Amherst, someone that everyone hates. When Victoria is killed, Misty is determined to find out who did it and why. While investigating the murder, she is also trying to find the vampire that sired her. Second Time Around is a good clean murder mystery, and I can't wait to catch up with Misty in book 3.

Absolutely fantastic! Misty is being pulled in so many directions. Find the rouge vampire, keep the investigation business going and watch her new client’s safety, Leif’s on her back about dating another vampire, take her classes with Concetta, not let anyone know how she feels about Rowen, and spend time with Winston. How much more can she handle?

I could not put this book down. I’m hooked on this series and I already can’t wait for the next book to come out!

I enjoyed this second book of the series. I love the various sub plots that take place while our girl hunts for a rogue vampire. As a newer vampire herself it adds some great character charm. Who wouldn’t want to be able to understand their cat after all:)

I am excited for the series to develop and to see where the main characters go in their professional and personal relationships. Over all it’s well written and very creative. I think it’s one many will enjoy!

Misty is a newly turned vampire trying to learn as she goes. She's hired to protect someone who turns up dead! She's a better investigator than a protector. She has tenacity and intelligence as she searches for clues. The culprit wasn't my guess , but I enjoyed following along to the conclusion. This is book 2 of Accidental Vampire PI and a standalone story. It is a murder mystery and Misty is on the case to solve the murder of her client she was hired to protect. This is a clean story, and I enjoyed the murder mystery. The ending does leave it open for the next story.
