This was such an epic end to the duology. I really enjoyed seeing the different perspectives between Tori, Abraxas, Hadeon, and Pallas. I love the magic in this world because it is so easy to visualize how it works.

The inter-personal relationships between these characters really drove the story. And my heart truly goes out to Pallas. As much as I wanted to hate her, I couldn't. She truly had the biggest journey and it did not disappoint.

Tori and Abraxas were perfect. As per usual. I want to be them because I'm obsessed. Who doesn't want a white haired man with horns and wings 😅 But really, Tori learning how to use and control her magic was totally BA. She is such a powerful FMC and took control.

Also the ending of the book. My emotions were all over the place and my mind was reeling. Loved it. Chefs kiss. Brava

The completed Born Of Mist And Dragonfire duology is available NOW!!!!! This is seriously one of my new favourite fantasy stories and I am so so pleased with how the story wrapped up 😍😍😍😍😍

The second book in the duology, Rising From Flames and Starlight, is nothing short of phenomenal, bringing back all of the characters you love and upping the stakes with every page. Fans of Sarah J Maas will absolutely love this story - it’s emotional, it’s romantic, it’s action packed, it’s thrilling, it’s everything you could want in a fantasy story.

@avathorne_author is an extremely talented writer and she was able to bring this story to life and keep me up all night finishing it. The world that she created in these books will stay with me forever and I am so happy to have this story in my life. This is also the first physical copy of an ARC I’ve read (both of them) so you know it must be good.

Thank you Ava for these amazing stories and allowing me to not only ARC read them both, but BETA READ the second book! I can’t wait to see what you do next

This book!! This book had me in a chokehold from page 1!

I was so glad to be back in Adimos and back with Tori and Abraxas 🥵. We also get to spend more time with other characters, and I fell in love with them all. Avlyn is my new fav, and I hope we see another book following them and Pallas.

The story picks up, right where we left off in Born of Mist and Dragonfire, and we very quickly get into the action. We follow Tori whilst she seeks revenge and tries to come to terms with the events of book 1.

She is, as she was in the first book, a kickass, fierce, and formidable MFC. Abraxas, oh my Abraxas, how I have missed you and you didn't disappoint!

We get to read a lot of backstory in this book, learning about Hadeon and how he became the monster he was. We get some of Palla's history and learn more about her past trauma at the hands of Hadeon.

This is an action-packed book, and I loved that Ava manages to balance the love story, spice, and action really well and you are constantly drawn in with each chapter, desperate to see what's going to happen next. The writing is beautiful, and you don't feel so much like you are reading, the words just flow off the page. There is a lovely mix of humour and banter, even when our characters are in the worst of situations, I chuckled numerous times out loud!

As this is the 2nd book in the duology, Abraxas and Tori's story obviously came to an end. I liked the conclusion, I thought it was the perfect way to say goodbye to them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would strongly recommend this duology to anyone and everyone!

This book was absolutely incredible! Each character had their moment to shine, and I was blown away by how it wrapped up all the adventures in such a great way. I didn’t expect the second and final installment to be this mind-blowing! I just wish there was an epilogue where the father of twins regrets his actions.

Note: make sure you are aware of the trigger warnings as there were some moments that were absolutely dreadful.

“Until all worlds fall apart and the sky burns” 🥵

O m g, my emotions are still reeling from this book two days later. It had everything I have come to expect from Ava’s writing and so much more. We got back stories from some of the main characters and even though I wanted to hate Pallas, how could I after reading about her past? I feel for her and hope to see more of her in the future! Tori coming in to her powers was *chefs kiss* ugh I love her. And her epic romance with Abraxas *swoons*. This book was beyond perfect and a perfect ending to this story.

Main points:
🐉 1st person pov
🐉multiple povs
🐉dragons
🐉coming in to power
🐉🌶️🌶️🌶️ spice

Such an emotional rollercoaster!!! I was so immersed in this book I couldn't put it down. Book one had me needing this book like a feen. The character growth was so well written. Tori is so amazing and her character development was by far my favorite part of this story. We got Pallas POV!!!! So good! SO FRIGGIN GOOD. This truly was the perfect ending to a perfect duology.

🖤 Thank you Ava for letting me be apart of your Beta/ARC team 🖤

Character Feedback:
Might be spoilers 🙃

♡ Princess Tori ♡ : ACTUALLY A BADASS. Like mentioned before her growth was so important to me and was my favorite part about this story. Her coming into her powers was so amazing. I just love her and Abraxas.

♡ King Abraxas ♡ : I was getting so worried. I repeat, I was getting SOOOO WORRIED. But it turned out to be such an amazing story. I loved how much we learned about Abraxas in this book. the way this man loves Tori can not be beat... SWOON

I got the absolute pleasure of reading this as an ARC, and to say I am blown away is an understatement!
I loved the first one and blew through it, and consequently was left on the cliff dangling in wait for book two. As soon as I was sent this and managed to finish barreling my way through the last zodiac book, I dove head first back into Adimos. For three days I barely came up for air. The story keeps you ensnared so perfectly and the characters somehow feel so relatable. The feelings and scenarios never really felt forced, they truly felt like natural paths people would choose and sometimes that is very hard to achieve.
I have already recommended this duology and will continue.
As much as I loved the first book, the second truly blew it out of the water. If the stories and the writing continue on this trajectory I can only see amazing things for this new author and I am so proud to be even the smallest part of their journey!

This story may have its HEA, but the cruel world keeps turning... I cant wait to see what happens next!

I was so excited to finally get to read this!!
I looove Tori & Abraxas but this one really let you dig in to the side characters as well. I was just over here rooting for everyone and even had my moments of feeling sorry for the bad guy😒
Don't get me wrong, I love a villian but Hadeon's like.. a Villian villian.
Just like book 1 this was action from start to finish. There was alot of growth but I would say especially for Pallas & Jun having to work through their trauma and finding their strength.

-Strong characters, Epic Battles, Enchanting World & a very Satisfying Ending.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions, action and violence. The multiple POV throughout allowed the reader to full submerge themselves in what each character is experiencing. And while the majority of the story focuses around Tori and Abraxas, the side characters really shine through in this one! I absolutely adore Avlyn, they are the most honorable, kind and loyal person. Love love loved them!

Be sure to read the trigger warnings before diving into this one as there are several situations of sensitive subject matter that happen on page. But thankfully, Ava did a great job warning in advance!

This was the perfect follow up book to Born in Mist and Dragonfire. And it was an epic conclusion to Tori and Abraxas's story. The twists kept coming all the way to the end!! PHEW!! Thanks Ava :)

Rising from Flames and Starlight marks the second piece to the now completed Duology (although we aren’t quite finished with this world 🌎).

It was fast-paced and action packed! It really hit on all those fantastical fantasy elements. It held me gripped, and I really enjoyed the world that Ava created.

In this second book, we discover many hidden secrets, reveal many truths and journey on a path of prophecies. It follows along the two main characters from Book One- whilst also delving in deeper into the strong array of side characters and discovering some of their journeys as well.

I love the fierce female lead- who’s badass and isn’t afraid of giving it all she’s got for those she loves.

If you’re after a high fantasy feel, wrapped up in action and magical creatures, with tension and slow burn, along with some delicious spice then this Duology is for you!

**I received an ARC version of this, but my feedback is entirely my own**

So, Reviewer. You got a free version of this before it hit the shelves. Whoopdidoo.
Would I buy this? Yes. Did I? Yes. Did I even invest in fancy hard covers? Yes, yes, and yes. I would do it again.

This sequel is NOT like the first one in a LOT of ways.
For one, there is not as much spice, so if that's what you're here for, yknow. There IS a lot of spice, though. Fantastic spice. Very sweet spice, a lot of it. Double spice.
The author leans more heavily into politics in this one: there's a lot more action and fighting, a lot more war. A lot more prophecy, a LOT of character development.
This one is BRUTAL, but it ties up all of the loose ends VERY nicely. I was gripped from the beginning all the way through to the end.
Well done, I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

I was absolutely blessed to read this as an ARC and I couldn't put it down! Ava absolutely did it again!

I had been waiting from this book from the moment I finished book 1, so the minute I had it on my kindle I immediately stopped all my other reading and jumped in; and boy oh boy was I not disappointed!

I don't want to give too much away because I think everyone needs to read this books, but the characters are amazing (even ones I hated in the beginning *cough cough* Pallas) and this is perfect conclusion to Tori and Abraxas' story!

If you’re read Born of Mist and Dragonfire then do yourself the BIGGEST favor and pick up book two....like now!

AHH This was spectacular!
I read the first book earlier this year and absolutely devoured it, so getting the chance to read the second one was an absolute delight.

This is a perfect continuation of the first, starting where we left off and keeps you on your toes the whole way through. It is nicely split up into 4 parts, each with a lil somethin' somethin' to catch your attention. A perfect ending to this duology, but more to come? Hopefully? The characters are all so wonderful in their own ways. I NEED MORE ahahah.

There is tons of LGBTQIA+ representation. Lots of spice and character dev.

Heed the TW! They are marked very clearly by the author, so if necessary you are able to skip.

I am excited to read more by this Author!

Travelling side by side with Tori as she struggles to save Abraxas and keep the world from falling apart was an amazing experience. The presence of found family is strong in this story and the characters really felt that way to me, like a true family. With glimpses of the past we learn that all evil has a root that it grew from, and what led to the suffering of all of Adimos is no exception. With questions answered come new revelations, new friends, and a new appreciation for the myths and legends of the land. Tori's strength and growth is truly beautiful to see and I can't wait to see more adventures in this realm!

A superb sequel! Much like the first book, Rising from Flames and Starlight is dripping with passion, obsession, beauty and love. Throne passionately writes both spice and epic battles, all wrapped up in an enticing plot involving magic, trust and love (and not to mention gorgeous outfits and exotic locations)

Thorne expands the world she built in her Born of Mist and Dragonfire, building not only the magical lore but the relationships between every character. Compared to the first book, there are more main characters which get their own POV chapters, and the relationships between every character are thoughtfully explored.

DNF at 23%

I wanted to like this one, but there was too much I couldn't deal with. PLEASE read the trigger warnings. The thing that turned me off wasn't explicitly listed, but it's why I tend to avoid shifter stories in general. I give dragon shifters a little more grace, but this time it didn't work for me. It was just too uncomfortable.

There was also the addition of two new POVs that I didn't see the point of (specifically Hadeon's), and the writing issue I noted in the first book remained. If a new character starts talking, it needs to be in a new paragraph. It's confusing otherwise, and pulled me out of the story a few times.

This was such a great duology! Thank you, Ava, for sending me this ARC!

This book had a great build up and conclusion when continuing from the first book. There are so many moving pieces, definitely has more fantasy than romance, but it carries us through the intense battles, and the resolution to the ending of the emperor. We learn more about the characters, and I really enjoyed all of the points of view that we got from the characters. I loved learning more about the magic and thought the system was really cool.

I was an ARC reader for this.
Usually, I'm a mood reader. But even when I was in the mood for this book, I couldn't get into it.
18% in and I DNF'd it.
I didn't like the style of writing in this one. It was a little confusing and also, I felt as though the going back of 525 years for Hadeon was unnecessary. She put in a recap from the first book and I also thought that was unnecessary.
Thorne is an amazing person and I do see potential in her writing. But there were some things in this one that just wasn't for me. It was a little triggering for me

It just grabbed everything good thing from book 1 and made it even more perfect. 💕✨️

I enjoyed how the characters became even more fleshed out. Their fears, traumas, and true kindness were so vivid and beautiful to witness. How even on the brink of self destruction you can still bravely take a step forward.

Even the villain was fully fleshed out. We got to understand the source of their wickedness. They were not evil for the sake of being so. Even though it did not justify his actions it helped explaining them.

Overall, an absolute delight to read 💕💗💖

Ever since I read the first book earlier this year, I've been impatiently waiting for the second one. This is such an amazing fantasy series, especially from a debut author. You have rich world building with a diverse cast of characters. After the cliffhanger of book 1, I needed book 2 to come in and blow me away. And it did. Our characters are fighting for their lives while still trying to unravel their magic. I am annoyed at Ava for making me sympathize with an awful character and give a little insight into why they're the way they are. This was a wonderful conclusion to Abraxas and Tori's story and I'm excited to see where the rest of our characters go.

I cannot get enough of Tori and Abraxas. The journey Tori goes on to rescue the love of her life is just amazing. The characters are complex and the relationships are enthralling. I loved seeing a different side of the characters and the interactions with each other (the banter is literally the best). I loved the world building and couldn't get enough of the people and animals. We need more stories of strong female leads like Tori and Pallas. This was such a great ending to the duology.

Eeeek such a great wrap up of Abraxus and Tori’s story! I loved the additional point of views in this book, especially learning more about Pallas and seeing her growth. Avlyn and the cohort fam are the best! Both books really felt like the best mix of romance and great stories with plenty of suspense and action. I’m obsessed with this series and can’t wait to see what else Ava has in store for the Adimos world! I will be ordering both of these books asap to add to my shelf!

Rising from frames and star light was five star.Read it has magic Describe the show incarnately that I love it

The characters grow so much and you see their journey slowly as they heal.

Even the villain was well written that I hated him with all my gut.And I was so happy with the way he died ( Can't give you any spoilers.)

The spice level was medium. And characters deserving were redeemed.

Ava Thorne’s magnificent creativity and writing ability is beyond words. The magic, characters, and world she has built is beyond compare. Tori and Pallas are both badass in their own right and have claimed their spots as my favorite FMCs. From start to finish this book is a wild ride and I enjoyed every second of it.

This book had it all. I am still in awe with that ending! From book one to this one, it all flowed seamlessly. I was pulled in by the story, not knowing what to expect. White hair fae MC with some big attributes if you catch my drift. Dragons, magic, war, revenge and unbelievable spice scenes. This story was such a great read. Do not miss out on this !

Very solid finish for this duology. I even got a little choked up at the end! I really enjoyed the plot in this book and I liked that it took precedence over the romance since the first book was more romance. The romance was already established by this book, so I greatly enjoyed the shift.
