About the author

Nikki Castle is a wife and dog mom from Philadelphia who writes spicy love stories about alpha MMA fighters and the women that melt their badass, playboy hearts. She's a full-time romance author during the day and spends her evenings running a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) gym with her husband, who is also a retired fighter.

Nikki has been writing in one way or another since she was a teenager. She pursued an English and Philosophy degree in college, and finally decided to sit down and fulfill her longtime dream of writing a novel when quarantine began in 2020. “5 Rounds” was her first book—and it was supposed to be her only book. Now, she’s a full-time author who can’t imagine a life in which she’s not crafting love stories.

This was such a fun novella and the story was so different, which I loved!

This one is a perfect beach read. Vanessa is 35 and recently divorced. She gets her beach house in the settlement and gets stood up on her first date after the divorce but meets a cute waiter who's 25 but knows what he wants. You guessed it right... HE WANTS Vanessa 🤣🤣

I honestly had fun with this one! It's crazy how much detail Nikki manages to pack into a little novella!

Маленька новела про жінку, яка щойно розлучилася і намагається знайти себе і своє місце у світі. Десь на цьому шляху, вона знайомиться з чарівним офіціантом (на 10 років молодшим) з яким закручує роман. 

Стосунки головних героїв мали бути інтрижкою на одну ніч, але вийшло все зовсім навпаки.

Мені сподобалося ставлення Райдера до Ванесси, як він боготворив її, поклонявся кожній її частинці, підтримував, ніколи не тиснув, поважав її особисті кордони і був готовий взяти все, що вона могла йому дати: будь то коротка інтрижка, чи довготривалі стосунки. Мені сподобалося, що він був чесний перед нею, не боявся говорити про свої почуття, в той же час нічого не вимагаючи взамін. Терплячий, розуміючий і турботливий.

Мені навіть сподобалося те, з яким острахом Ванеса підходила до нових стосунків, як вона боялася знову загубити себе в чоловікові і втратити свою ідентичність. Як вона прийшла до усвідомлення, що їхні стосунки з Райдером абсолютно протилежні тому, що було в її шлюбі, що хлопець ніколи не стримуватиме її, а завжди буде підбадьорювати в будь-яких починаннях.

Чи варто говорити, які тут сцени 18+🔥 Тому що це було прям дуже гаряче. Авторка вміє запалити 

Єдине, що я хотіла б дізнатися трішки більше про сім'ї головних героїв, хотіла б познайомитися з сім'єю Ванесси, а також побачити як сім'я Райдера прийняли дівчину. Але, для цього напевно потрібна повноцінна книга😅

P.S. Все таки, перша книга серії мені більше запала в серце, вона мені здалася чуттєвішою, після прочитання хотілося ще і ще. А тут історія здається цілком завершеною, але вона все одно чудова.

Want a fun, hot summer novella? Well I got just the thing for you!! Waiter at Table 6 is a summertime novella that gives you everything you’re looking for. There’s beachy vibes, amazing chemistry between MCs, sizzling heat, a cute love story, and more. As a novella, I felt that this was so well rounded, nothing feels rushed or left unfinished.

To begin, we have Vanessa. She is a 35 year-old, recent divorcé trying to find herself again after a draining marriage. I admire that throughout the story, we see Vanessa constantly going out of her comfort zone in order to help her discover what she wants out of life. Even though she is scared, she doesn’t let it stop her from being happy. Vanessa faces her fears and goes after what she wants.

Then we have Ryder, who is a passionate, charming, mature 25 year-old. If ages were not stated, you would not guess that he was in his twenties. Ryder handles everything he does with grace, from the restaurant business, to his friends and family, to his relationship with Vanessa. Not to mention how respectful he is. Not once does he push Vanessa for something she is not ready for, he lets her know where he stands emotionally while still giving her the space to decide what she wants.

Together, Ryder and Vanessa are perfect! I’m normally not one for reverse age gaps, but I adored their story. Ryder is a respectable young man that seems far wiser and mature for his years, so I think it makes it easier to see him with an older woman. Ryder needs someone to meet his level of maturity. To me, Vanessa was that perfect balance for him, having experience in her life he did not have, but still in an era of life that anything was possible. While on the opposite end, I think Vanessa needed someone to make her feel young again and give her the push to look at life in a new angle. Ryder did that for her, he helped her in her journey to discover herself.

Overall, I highly recommend as your next summer read. It is quick, hot, fun, and so very cute! At less than 150 pages you get a full love story with two amazing characters that does not feel rushed or unfinished. Nikki does an amazing job of capturing her readers, this was not exception.

The Waiter at Table 6 is a fun, spicy, summer novella! Age gap (she’s 10 years older), golden retriever hero + he’s obsessed with her, life after divorce, and allll the summer beach activities!

Vanessa is waiting at a restaurant for a date to show up when the story starts. Her first date since her divorce and she gets stood up! But she does hit it off with the very attentive waiter Ryder. He ends up inviting her to a nearby bar after and the story goes from there! Ryder is so into Vanessa from the start and it was fun seeing all their moments together! So many summer vibes: tiki bar, beach house, jet skis, mini golf, carnival food! I’ve read everything from Nikki Castle, while not a new favorite for me, I always do have a fun time with her reads but older women age gap just isn’t always my jam. For a novella this was a quick, fun summer read and on kindle unlimited.

This book is such a different vibe from what i have read from Nikki but nonetheless I had so much fun!! It follows Vanessa who recently just got out of a divorce and is trying to find herself and then you meet Ryder who she meets when she gets stood up on her first date back into that world. The way that both of them had so much patience with one another, but specifically Ryder, he never took away her shine and I think that’s what she needed was a partner who supported her through thick and thin, and let her find herself and simply was there for her success. I love them and i truly enjoyed the level of spice, passion, and romance.

Beyond excited to finally get to read this book. I love Nikki’s writing so much-she delivers so much even with this being a shorter read. It is a quick, fun, spicy novella and just the summer read I needed.

Vanessa was a wonderful character, she had real and raw feelings that pulled at my heartstrings. She was on a journey to finding her happy and rediscovering herself what she wants. Rooting for her since the moment she stepped on the page was easy. I was eager to see what she would discover about herself since going through such a monumental life change. Watching her gain confidence and find her joy was absolutely beautiful. All while Ryder was supportively by her side.

I couldn’t keep the smile off my face, Ryder is adorable and just so genuine and sweet! I instantly fell in love with that man, honestly what’s not love-just read it, you’ll get it!
I loved seeing these two get to know one another, and we even got a small touch of emotion too.

The chemistry between these two……not only did they heat up the pages- but even when it was just them spending time together and having fun! Nikki hit it out of the park!

Ryder and Vanessa are just so perfect for one another!! I had so much fun reading this one and highly recommend everyone read it as soon as possible!

The perfect novella to read this summer.

Nikki has teased this idea ever since she was inspired by a real life waiter she had and it was worth the wait.

Ryder was everything I could have wanted in a 25 year old.. mature, dependable, self sufficient, sexy and charming... Oh and a non-existent refractory period 😮‍💨

Vanessa was inspiring. Coming off a divorce that left her questioning herself, I absolutely loved seeing her find herself, her confidence and her passion for life again. She owned who she was and that was so empowering.

Their attraction was instant and their chemistry was on fire.. but their deeper connection and compatibility was where I really fell in love with these two.

I couldn't have asked for anything more... I mean I could have read about these two forever, don't get me wrong... but it's not often a novella leaves me so content 🤌🏼

Ever since Nikki announced that she would be releasing The Waiter at Table 6, I couldn't wait to read it. A summer novella with a reverse age gap and a flirty waiter - sign me up!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this novella and I devoured it.

The Waiter at Table 6 follows the story of recently divorced Vanessa as she goes on a journey to rediscover herself. She lives in a beach house but is looking to find out who she is after her marriage. One evening she meets Ryder, a young, hot-shot waiter, who is enamoured with her.

Straightaway, you could tell there was chemistry between the two of them. They were flirting even when they shouldn't and it didn't stop there. I, personally, haven't really been a fan of reverse age gap stories, but I loved Nikki's storytelling in this novella and got behind the trope.

There is banter, there is sweetness and there is spice. Ryder and Vanessa fit together so well with both of them helping each other come to terms with what they actually want.

Because it is a novella, it is a quick read but the pace doesn't take away from the story.

I would rate this 4.5 stars and will definitely revisit it when I fancy a quick summer read.

I'm not a big fan of the age gap trope where the FMC is the older one, BUT, this being a novella we didn't really have that in-depth narrative, both plot and characters-wise. I could have get without his age and how young he was compared to her a lot less if I have to have one critic about it.

That being said, Ryder was a huge cinnamon roll 🩷 I loved how enamored and supportive he was of her, he literally had heart eyes from the moment he saw her sitting at the table.

And I found myself too cheering at Vanessa, for putting herself out there and trying to finding herself again (or finally)

I am so glad Nikki decided to write more novellas but also like I need more LMAO. She really knows how to pack a punch with these. There were so many feelings reading this, absolutely loved.

Vanessa is divorced and has move to the small town where the house she got is. She decides that it’s time to get back out there and agrees to a date. Her date stands her up. Ryder is the waiter at the restaurant that witnesses this. He is also 10 years younger than her. He is smitten by her immediately and he spends the evening ensuring she receives the best possible service! They end up running into each other later that evening and things progress rapidly.

This was such a hot steamy short summer read that I def needed. Their attraction and chemistry was instant and hot but I loved their deeper connection and compatibility.
I absolutely loved Ryder. He was so incredibly swoony and such a golden retriever. He really helped Vanessa get out of her own head and get her back to enjoying life.

i want more. this was my first thought as i finished reading. i honestly could’ve read 30 more chapters and still want more.

for this being a novella it didn’t feel rushed, it was the right pace and it felt natural and flowed seamlessly. it was so good, so freaking good.

vanessa (great name by the way 😉) was an amazing character. i loved seeing her come out of her shell and embrace new things and finding herself. seeing her truly live and be comfortable in her skin was incredible. the growth she made was astounding and inspiring. i adored her so much.

ryder! oh sweet sweet ryder how i loved thee. the most attentive, charming, caring, thoughtful, fantastic, loving man. he was everything and more, i loved him and his tender heart soooooooo much.

vanessa and ryder had the most electrifying chemistry that burned hot. these two hit it right off and the attraction they had was explosive. they were so good together and so right for each other. i loved how encouraging ryder was for vanessa and the fact that he didn’t diminish her but rather uplift her. they were simply perfect for each other, i loved them to pieces.

the waiter at table 6 was a delicious and tantalizing novella that brought the heat as well as the sweet moments. i was left swooning and kicking my feet up in excitement. i don’t know how many times i can say that i loved this, but one now time won’t hurt. I. LOVED. THIS.

What a fun, sweet summer story! Vanessa (a recent divorcée) meets Ryder when she is stood up on a date. He is her waiter and she decides to stay and enjoy her meal solo. This leads to a lot of flirting and eventually some fun beach activities once he's off work.

I loved Ryder, he was so sweet and eager to please. He was always so patient and encouraging with Vanessa while she worked through the personal issues from her divorce and finding herself again. This was such a quick easy read, I wanted more of these two but as always Nikki did an amazing job.

There’s something so HOT about an age gap where she’s older & he’s freaking obsessed.

Vanessa is divorced & ready to try and get back into the dating world. One her first date, she gets stood up but have no fear…her hot waiter, Ryder, is ready & more than willing to make her feel so much better 😛 Ryder was so dang good for her & gave her so much more than a ton of hot orgasms (but we don’t mind those heh).

This was a really fun novella to kick off the month with! I loved Vanessa and Ryder! I am not normally someone that reads a lot of novellas. However, this one had everything I love in a short story. Tension, angst, chemistry, smoking hot spice and just over all cute love story. This is a perfect short story to read on a summer day. It has great beach vibes and is quick easy read!

This was such a fun read. The absolute perfect book to read while sitting on the beach, while sipping on a pina colada 😉. I always love Nikki’s writing so no surprise that I ate this up! Vanessa is recently divorced & moves to the beach to start over. After finally putting herself out there, she finds herself stood up & feeling sorry for herself. Until she catches the eye of her much younger but very hot waiter 😍 Ryder was so freaking swoony. He was entranced by Vanessa from the beginning and I loved watching these two fall. He got her out of her head & truly helped her find herself. They do ALL the fun summer beach activities and now all I wanna do is go to the beach!!

We were waiting for what felt like forever for this one, and IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT.
First of all, a reverse age gap? Sold. Hot waiter? Give it to me!!

Vanessa is a 35 year old divorcee now living in a nice beach house when she gets stood up by her date. Then comes Ryder, the hot 25 year old waiter, and he turns everything around for her.

Besides the fun, I loved how much Ryder wanted Vanessa to find herself and cheered for her, when she was used to the complete opposite with her ex husband.

“Why are you surprised? You saw it last night.” I finally swallow my shock and lock eyes with her. “I was looking at you last night.”

This novella was so delicious and spicy, I wanted seconds.
It was the right pace, perfect for a quick summer read.

this was such a cute fun read. literally read it in one sitting. such a spicy read.

this follows Vanessa and Ryder. Vanessa is a recent divorcee who moves to a beach town. she is trying to figure out what to do with her life after being a stay at home wife for almost ten years. Ryder is a waiter but he also owns the restaurant that Vanessa first visits. She is on a date after being divorced for almost 2 months and her date stood her up and then we have Ryder who openly flirts with her and tells her that he doesn't know how any man could ever leave her hanging. this is also reverse age gap which doesn't tend to be my favorite but this was done so well.

Vanessa is afraid to open up herself again to a man because ten years of her life revolved around a man and she is afraid if that happens again she will completely lose herself but Ryder is persistent and is patient with her. ugh I loved this so much.
