An interesting Scottish Cookbook, with some bio and historical Scottish facts thrown in with the recipes. The recipes, although some traditional, are mostly modern, but have good, healthy ingredients, though maybe he's a little obsessed with golden syrup. I was after some more traditional and historical recipes, but they were far and few between. Some lovely photos of Scotland thrown in, and one with him topless, which I am sure was to lure the ladies in. Everything from cakes to puddings to mains, but no haggis, but there is Dundee Cake and shortbread, and of course, scones.
Absolutely wonderful recipes, beautiful photography, interesting stories and just fun to read. This is one cookbook where I've marked many recipes to try and I'm looking forward to making all of them.
Entirely too many sweets for my taste. Handful of savory recipes, albeit everything looks nice. You'll need to toss several cabers to work off these carbs.
