If you were a preposition, you would connect a noun or pronoun to other words in a sentence. You could go WITH you friends INTO the movie theater. What else could you do if you were a preposition?
Nancy Loewen grew up on a farm in southwestern Minnesota, surrounded by library books and cats. She's published more than 140 books for children. FOUR TO THE POLE (co-authored with polar explorer Ann Bancroft) and THE LAST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN were Minnesota Book Award finalists. Her WRITER'S TOOLBOX series received a Distinguished Achievement Award from the Association of Educational Publishers.
Nancy lives in Saint Paul and has an MFA in Creative Writing from Hamline University. She has two adult children and a cat who sometimes bites her knees under the table as she writes.
Loved this for a first introduction to parts of speech for my 3rd grader. Piqued his interest without a lot of building up from mom - always a win. Looking forward to checking out the rest of the series.
We borrowed this book for Classical Conversations Cycle 1.
This book was good but overly complex for our 6 and 4 year olds. The first half was perfect for them! Older kids will probably like the rest of the book a lot better.
That said, our kids LOVED one page about a goat and a shed, showing the goat in different places around the shed. We must have spent at least 5 minutes on that page alone!
Not bad for a books about grammer. They actually diagram in these books but not too much. And they try to make the examples interesting. Overall not bad. Grades 2+
