Tori Duran seeks refuge on the quiet island of Magnolia Key, hiding her past and her identity. She sets her sights on restoring the cherished local theater - a decision that unexpectedly causes her to work side-by-side with Gavin, the gruff owner of the island's bike shop.
Though neither wants the collaboration, as Tori and Gavin work together to breathe new life into the theater, a grudging admiration for each other develops, along with a few undeniable sparks.
But Tori's stubborn resistance to come clean about her past threatens to derail their budding relationship.
When Tori's secret identity is ultimately revealed, it not only jeopardizes her connection with Gavin but also shatters the trust of the entire close-knit community.
With the theater's grand opening quickly approaching, Tori must decide whether to continue fighting for acceptance or start anew somewhere she can keep her past a secret.
Encore Echoes is a captivating story of second chances, the power of community, and the courage to follow your heart - no matter the cost.
Kay Correll is a USA Today bestselling author of sweet, heartwarming stories that are a cross between women’s fiction and contemporary romance. She is known for her charming small towns, quirky townsfolk, and the enduring strong friendships between the women in her books.
Kay splits her time between the Southwest coast of Florida and the Midwest of the U.S. and can often be found out and about with her camera, taking a myriad of photographs, often incorporating them into her book covers. When not lost in her writing or photography, she can be found spending time with her ever-supportive husband, knitting, or playing with her puppies - a cavalier who is too cute for his own good and a naughty but adorable Australian shepherd. Their five boys are all grown now and while she misses the rowdy boy-noise chaos, she is thoroughly enjoying her empty nest years.
This book was pretty predictable and mire of the same as book 1. Girl comes to island to escape her past. Girl meets boy with his own past. They become a couple. End if story.
What a delightful story of this wonderful community. Yes as Miss Eleanor said a secret can be kept as long as it didn’t hurt anyone. Although the secret is exposed at the end of the book! I love these magical stories of love found in unexpected places!
This was a heartwarming story. A gentle reminder that a person’s past doesn’t need to define their future. Life can be redefined and repurposed in a new and improved way. To not judge a person without knowing the full story to give a benefit of a doubt, to not cast the first stone in judgment.
Always a feel good story from Kay Correll. I truly love her characters and the plot of this tale. Not doing a synopsis, never do. You can get that from the books back cover. So looking forward to reading more about Magnolia Key's residents and visitors.
I loved this story with its ups and downs. The characters are lovable. Some people just want their past to remain in the past. But small towns don’t always accept that. It seems several characters have secrets to keep. I can’t wait for book 3.
