4.5 The author Dr. Davis is a renowned cardiologist. He know’s what he’s talking about and explains his research in detail. He’s written several books, Wheat Belly, Super Gut and now Super Body a 3 week program to restoring your body closer to good health. So where does this book go ? Gut biome, it’s all in the gut, it starts and ends there. If your gut biome is off, everything else will be too.
His program is strict, it is very low carb, high protein, high fermented foods, there are many everyday food items to avoid. No wheat, no grain, no corn, no sugar, seed oils which seems extreme and felt like it to me while I was reading it. I’m a vegetarian so most of my diet would be gone. Or I’m just not willing to give up my wheat ? Both. But I will follow many of his suggestions on getting my biome back and have already started some ferments.
There are recipes for getting that good stuff back into your system and a list of supplements to help too.
I think this is a good book for anyone wanting to turn their system around and maybe lose some weight. If nothing else the education offered here is invaluable.
