Hermit Season: Poems & Visions

Rate this book
The Hermit archetype can get kind of a bad wrap in our culture of productivity and success. But the Hermit is about retreating into the depths and wisdom of our inner lives, in order to come back out with gained wisdom, rest, and a replenished spirit.

This collection is full of messages I’ve collected over the past few years from my interior travels. They are poems and visions of rest, hope, grief, self love, and acceptance. This is a book that encourages the radical act of doing nothing of consequence for a bit in order to alchemize and integrate our experiences. Hermit Season is not an escape from the world, but rather, a necessary stop on the way back to it.

I found most of the poems were well-written, but also didn't really give me much to feel or think about. Nothing about it is particularly memorable. I think that's my main gauge for if I liked a book of poetry or not. It's not bad but wasn't for me.
