To unlock her powers she must mate with four sexy dragon shifters. One down, three to go…

I’m done hiding. I’ve stopped running. And I’ve finally accepted my destiny—to take four dragon shifters as my mates so I can become the next Black Dragon, the wielder of all the elements.

I’ve already bonded with Jasin, my smoldering soldier, and soon I’ll be getting intimate with Auric, my lofty prince, Slade, my grounded blacksmith, and Reven, my frosty assassin. Only then can we become powerful enough to stop the current Dragons, the overlords of our world.

But as we continue our journey, secrets are uncovered about my mates that make me question everything, even as things heat up between us. Yet the greatest secret of all lies in my own past—and it might destroy us completely.

I immediately jumped into KISS THE SKY after finishing book 1 and I enjoyed seeing more of Kira's journey with her men. This time the group is traveling to the Air Realm and we learn a little more about some of the world's politics and more about the Dragons. Also bonus points for Brin's character, I loved her and hope we continue to see more of her in future books.

Kira has now bonded with Jasin and is preparing to bond with Auric, our sweet and bookish Prince. The heat level bumps up from the previous book as Jasin helps give Auric some hands-on lessons on how to please Kira. The three of them were very sexy together and I especially loved seeing how they became more comfortable with each other.

Both Reven and Slade are still trying to resist their feelings for Kira but the more time they spend together the harder it's getting. I'm really curious to see how things will progress in book 3 with Slade because he's so determined to not give his heart away; and of all the men he's the one that struggles the most with the idea of sharing Kira.

With some higher steam, new revelations about Kira's past, a touch of angst and jealousy, this series has me riveted!

I'm normally all about dragon-shifter PNR's. Book 1 started off promising and when I finished it, I jumped right into this one. But I'm not really feeling this whole story's arc. There's almost a formula or pattern to this book's plot that was the same as that of book 1. I found everything too predictable and sadly, for me, a little boring to read.

In a nutshell: .

Note: I also downloaded books 3 & 4 as this series is available in KU and I skimmed through them to see if my suspicions about the pattern were right. Guess what? Same formula re: the plot.

I guess I wouldn't mind so much about the predictability of the storyline per book but I wasn't particularly enamored with any of the MC's either. Man, all of them were so serious and angsty! There's very little-to-none funny or witty moments in book 1 or 2. I'm not sure about books 3 or 4 because I only skimmed through those.

I like snarky/spunky characters with sharp wit and scenes with smart dialogue. This series didn't have any of that :(

I still liking it.
The writing is a bit too stiff for me to feel a real connection to the characters, but I’m enjoying the relationships enough for it not to bother me too much. At least not enough to move on to something different.
There’s still a shit ton more to learn about the characters, though.
They’ve all talked and had moments but I’m still feeling like we don’t have Enough to make the relationships really strong…

Maybe it’s just me but I felt like this book was just a rehash of book one. Only this time a few details are changed, a little fight scene has been thrown in near the end and the focus has been shifted from Jasil to Auric.

Actually 3.5 stars

In her Seraphim Academy series, author Elizabeth Briggs deftly balances romance, plot, and character development with near-perfect results. Unfortunately, she couldn't do the same for the Her Elemental Dragons series. The characters are all likable and compelling, and this book pushes the character development forward successfully. I really like Auric, his family and his friends. That part really works for me. The plot advances, too, though not quickly and there are quite a few similarities to the first book (though given the story structure of the series, that may be inevitable). However, the romance elements are flat. There's little romantic tension and when Auric and Kira do consummate their relationship and bond, it's over quickly and doesn't really deal with their feelings for each other. This book isn't bad, but it could have been so much better.

Well she still annoys me. The sex scenes where they are teaching are so cringy and I don't like them. I know it's reverse Harem but that just isn't working for me. I liked the scene where two of them shifted into their dragons and the story is coming along. So she has to defeat her own mother.....will it be that her mother is evil and hates her or is she actually a loving mum who thought she was dead or something. I guess I have to read on to find out. Plus which one of the four dragons is her father?

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Things are getting interesting now. We pick back up with Kira and her men on a ship heading to the air kingdom so they can complete the bond in the temple there. Of course there is still all kinds of danger going on as they are chased by the other dragons in an effort to stop them. Trying to figure out powers and relationships on top of this is the cherry on top of the cake. Lots of twists, turns, and surprising to keep you hooked until the end. I can't wait for book three!! I really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I always enjoy dragons, so I admit I'm predisposed to like this series. But these are fun, fast reads that have a decent story. It moves really quickly - it is pretty much insta-love, and the characters act like they've known each other for months when it has been like 10 days - but I'm enjoying it even if it is a bit simplistic.

Kiss the Sky was a good follow up to the first book Stroke the Flame, focusing on Auric's story instead of Jasin's this time. I adore Auric, so I was excited to see more of his story and history. One of his surprises was revealed early on that Kira didn't like so much, and I feel as though her reaction to it was kind of ridiculous. She was too dramatic about it, even though Auric explained everything right away and fixed the situation a few moments later. I just thought it wasn't a huge deal once Auric talked it through, but Kira just kept mentioning about how much it bothered her and I started to get a little annoyed halfway through. Luckily, Auric was able to patch things up and we got a few steamy scenes (including at the temple).

Otherwise, I really liked the book and can't wait to read more of the other mens' stories during the next two books. I am especially excited to see more of Jasin and Auric's budding bromance and have Slade and Reven begin to join in on the love. I need more Reven!

I knew starting this that the first book was so-so but I couldn't really remember why... Now I remember. You take 5 people, force them together against their will with god magic and then expect it to all just work out really fast. There really is no chemistry and the interactions are just stilted. It is on KU so no loss really but I am leaving myself this review so I don't accidentally end up trying to read the 3rd book...

I downloaded this book via Kindle Unlimited.

In this book, we see Kira and her boys head to the Air Realm in order to bond with Auric, the future Golden Air Dragon. However, this is not an easy task as Auric is the MIA prince of the air kingdom and sneaking a missing prince into his own home is no easy feat. Once caught, they are taken to the palace to stay when Kira finds out Auric is actually bethrothed to his lifelong friend Brin. They of course deal with this because Auric isn't allowed to love anyone else, this is a RH book after all.

Not to sound sarcastic within my review, but this book was incredibly tedious after a while. I find Kira annoying, I find the boys still stereotypical of RH boys as mentioned in my review of the first book but this book did provide a more interesting insight into the world of the dragons, not enough for me to say I liked the book but it was readable and okay, albiet a little cringey in places. I did grow to like Brin's character but I feel like you can't trust anyone in these books.

The word of the day is FORMULAIC. Rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. The plot keeps following the same formula. The Scooby gang race to a temple to have sex, bond and become dragons. Then, they are attacked by dragons, shades, insert what you’d like here…… and then they move on to the next temple. The mc Kira is so boring and pouty. I can almost imagine her stomping her feet and whining that Reven and Slade aren’t in love with her. Why can’t these guys give up their lives to love only me me me. Because, two hot guys as your mates isn’t enough-she has to have four. Kira needs a personality makeover. Thank God for Brin who is a breath of fresh air. I’m in to book 3 and it’s a struggle.

Alright, if the entire series is one long journey book I may need to tap out. The first and second books are far too similar in structure, and I am not sure it's for me. The overall plot is still okay, but fantasy's should have only one on the road story.

Informative

I hate it when they only get bits and pieces of the real story throughout their journey. Their lives would be easier to figure out with full info up front.

TLDR - A few typos but the spice picked up and I felt more involved in the plot -

I was kinda disappointed after the first book so I’m really glad that they delivered more on the harem part of reverse harem and there’s been a lot of relationship growth between the characters which I really enjoyed

Now that the world building has been established it feels like there was a little more room for plot which was super good but it still wasn’t oodles of plot (I didn’t really mind)

Overall it was a nice, quick, lighthearted read and the only thing I would’ve really changed was the few typos I came across

I listened to the audiobook version of this book.
Kiss the Sky picks up where Stroke the Flame leaves off. It is a very fast paced listen and seemed to be over before I knew it! In this one we get to see their journey as the return to the place where Auric is from and we get a lot more detail about him and his background. We also get to learn some more suprising information about Kira and her background. Now that we know who all of the main characters (mostly) are from the first book, the author is able to establish real relationships and connections between Kira and her men. It is a little predictable since we are able to have a general idea of where the author intends to take the story; however, the author is able to keep us engaged with how she takes us there and through these charming characters. There are also some pretty steamy scenes as Kira and her men start to become closer with one another.

These narrators did a fantastic job in this performance. Each kept character voices consistent and differentiated from the first book. I think their voices enhance the sensuality and the interactions between the characters. I like that they did dual narration for point of view changes between Kira and the men. It's not very common but it works well since this is a reverse harem novel. Very enjoyable to listen to.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Another great book in the Her Elemental Dragons series!

Elizabeth Briggs has picked us up right where we left off in Stroke The Flame, with Kira and her four Dragons heading towards the Air Realm. This book has bene written well with the pace being just right to allow for each Dragon to have their own tale (even with all the characters involved). While we went to the Fire Realm for Jasin in book 1, this time we get to see the different culture surrounding the Air Realm with Auric, along with all the rigmarole that goes with being Royalty. However, even though this book is centred around the bonding with Auric, we still get to see each characters personality and their interactions with the other characters (i.e. Reven hiding in the shadows but making comment on others feelings, and Jasin providing a little fire and assistance when needed).

I love that we also have the added bonus of a new friend in Brin, and only hope to see more of her own story in the future (perhaps a side story of her own?).

While we finally learn something about Kira's past, we are still left with questions about her fate and I look forward to finding the answers in the coming books. Can't wait to read about Slade's story in Shake the Earth.

A book cannot get any better than intense, action packed and steamy. This story has it all, and then some. More of Kira's history is revealed as well as the true nature of her bond to her mates. As more about Kira unfolds, it becomes clearer as to why she is mated with these four mates. I found myself catching my breath as the story ended because I just wanted more. I cannot wait for the next in the series. I truly loved the interaction of the characters in this story. Each one became closer to Kira and each other. It is easy to sense the bond between all of them is strengthening, but of course so are thw threats to it. This is one series you do not want to miss!

Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter narrate this book. I love the continuity of having the same narrators within a series. Ms Langola narrated Kira exactly as I imagined her to be. Ms Langola brings out the strong woman Kira is. Ms Langola narrated the four men with consistent and different tones which are perfect for each of thieer personalities. Stephen Dexter narrates each of the men as I would have imagined them. He brings out every attribute of each character to bring them to life. Mr Dexter is one of the few male narrators that I like to narrate a female character. Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter are a wonderful narrating team that enhance the experience of this story.

Quick Info
Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Cliffhanger
Part of a Series?: Yes

Meeting the Characters
Kira
Auric
Jasin
Slade
Reven
----------------------------------
What happens?
It is Auric's turn to bond with Kira. When they arrive in the air territory, the others are arrested for the kidnapping of the prince. Kira is shocked and hurt that Auric didn't tell her he was the prince in the royal air family. She is even more shocked and hurt when she finds out he was engaged to marry a beautiful woman.
Auric has to overcome the hurt and betrayal he caused Kira to prove he wants her and is in love with her. He also employs Jasin to show him how to please Kira so their first time together in the air temple can go smoothly and be enjoyable for both.
Final thoughts
This is where is starts to get serious; we see more dragons. More from Reven being the bad assassin by showing very slowly he isn't as bad as he has made himself out to be. This book was just as good as the first one.

Dragons... what more do you need?

Wonderfully written elements dragon story. Filled with fated mates and impossible destiny.
The characters are wonderful and very likable. I enjoy their dynamic and slow burn and denial. It bring some lovely spice to a angst filled read.
Red dragon Jasin was a hothead in the beginning but has grown into his leadership qualities, I love the devotion and playfulness.
Golden dragon is sweet heart and grown more assertive which makes him alot more yummy.
Slade future earth dragon was still keeping the friends only vibe going until he found himself looking at the possibility of losing her. I am glad he is finally embracing his feelings.
Ah my favourite future azure dragon. His dark, broody and absolutely in denial but she is getting under his skin. He will definitely admit his feelings soon. Look forward to reading that.
The story is moving forward beautifully and with such ease that it's a joy to read. World building just enough to not overwhelm you but allow you these beautiful scenery.
Definitely recommend these books.

The journey continues…

This was good but… I still don’t recall them bathing… except maybe once it seemed like Kira did before bed but was vague and she could have just been using the bathroom. I’m hoping not since it was called “washroom” and that she actually washed because what happened after…she needed a wash first.

Anyway, the epic journey continues and secrets are revealed. We still have two brooding, mates but they seem to be coming around. Part of Kira’s heritage is revealed at the very end and at one point in book one I had the thought of it… but the I let it go for “timeline reasons”… I don’t know how else to describe it without giving anything away.

There’s more traveling by horse and even some sailing. We meet some actual Elementals this time (vice the bandits they thought would be Elementals in the last book) and even run across the elusive Shades! Not something you want to meet in a dark alley…or broad daylight. LOL

All in all, I’m still on for the ride and moving on to the next book. Happy reading!
