Gravity Hill #2

Breaking You

Rate this book
Talon Rossi is slow to trust and quick to judge.

My senior year was supposed to be easy. I’m the king of campus at Ravard Prep and everyone wants to be with me.

My dad told me to keep my head down and finish this year with no issues, but apparently even he couldn’t predict Cin Morgan.

The day I meet the new girl, she puts me on my ass.

It’s then that I decide I hate her, that I need her gone. Like, yesterday.
The only problem is I can’t keep my eyes off of her. Thoughts of her consume me, peck at my willpower, and follow me everywhere.

I’m obsessed, and it only gets worse when she shows up in my home bleeding and broken.

The girl I hate has a darker past than even she knows.

Now, all I want is to keep her, protect her, possess her.

There’s a fine line between hate, obsession, and… love.

Sins will be exposed.

Lies will be unraveled.

Love will be inevitable.

Breaking you down until there is no other option.

**Breaking You is a MATURE book. Meant for a mature audience above the age of 18.**

I've been waiting for Talon since the last book, and this is more college bully romance. Been awhile since I read one.

Sin girl is everything she's a curvy. I don't give a fk girl who'll do anything for her mom, even be in a family who dislikes her. She's going to a new school and we'll she didn't have a good first impression of Talon who bumped/touched her he locked her in a elevator and made it known it was open season for her. So yeah, right off the bat, they were enemies. She did make friends with his brother and twin brother. So it was pretty funny watching everyone tell Talon to knock it off. He was a woman hater because of his past. So yeah, the pranks and stunts they both pulled made me laugh and go geeze guys. But not all is fun, and games past things are coming back to hurt them. And Sin, poor girl she went through it, but she never backed down. She took that by the horns and fought. But the drama sin is going though had Talon change he was more protective of her and finally started to realize he cared about his spice.

So yeah, lots of drama. Side charas I enjoyed. I'm sad about one couple that I was hoping was the end game. But aren't. He'll find his hea with someone else. It could've been higher for me if that scene below hadn't happened.

Safety - Chapter 16 if you wanna skip it. The h is in a 3someish with H twin brother and his friends with benefits Gemma, and it's to make the H jelly i skipped this, so idk how far they went. H also there getting bj from some random.. the h also has some clingy guy who wants her they do kiss a lot, and the H gets jelly a lot.

Low angst, Om drama, sorta cheating (depends on how you look at it), slight secondary character, drama, sexy times, Virgin gal & manhater H

“I’m going to break you Talon. Crack you open and explore everything that makes up who you are. Black sludge it may be, but I’ll wade through it to fucking figure you out.”

This is my first book by this author, and I absolutely ate it up.

I loved loved loved the storyline. The plot was great and kept me on my toes the entire time. There was perfect balance of tension, suspense, and “Spice”. I’m such a sucker for a dark bully romance and this fit that category perfectly.

The characters were written so good. I loved our FMC Cin. I loved that she is curvy, witty, and unapologetically herself. She’s such a badass in everything she is and does, this girl does not need your help and she has no problem getting things done on her own. I absolutely loved her friendships she made with Gemma and all the boys, the way they all had her back no matter what I absolutely loved and couldn’t get enough.

Talon, Talon, Talon. This boy got on my nerves the first half of the story but he’s supposed to. He had a lot of issues he needed to work through himself, and I’m so happy that throughout the book he did. He has the most character development in the story and I ended up loving the person he turned out to be.

Talon and Cin together was perfection. I think their really rough start into getting to know each other is what made them into the couple they are. Those two have literally been through hell and back separately and together and I think that’s why they were such a strong couple.

I will forever be a fan of Gravity Hills, this author gained a new fan for sure, and I can’t wait to see what’s next! Thank you so much for letting me read it!

If you want to read a dark bully romance with thriller/suspense vibes, this is the perfect book for you! This is being released July 9th so make sure you save the date!

What started out as Talon despising the woman who wouldn’t let him touch her on her first day at Raynard, turned into an epic battle of trying to keep her safe. Cin is one tough cookie who is not to be trifled with. She can hold her own. Get ready for banter, a battle of wits, and some delicious desserts courtesy of my favorite character from Waiting for the Pieces. Breaking You will have you on an emotional rollercoaster with twists and turns you are not even expecting.

Cin has arrived to her new prep school in order to finish her senior year and while she knows entering a new school is never easy, she certainly doesn’t expect to knock some hot guy on his ass. And that guy is Talon, woman hater and local asshole. So in retaliation Talon declares war on her and he expects her to go down easily. Jokes on him….

It really shouldn’t surprise anyone that I’m once again writing a raving review for another book by Taylor. There is really something addicting and intoxicating about her writing, her characters and especially her brand of dark romances. Breaking You was an incredible addition of the Gravity Hills series and I really enjoyed seeing more of these group of boys who we met in book one. Taylor has successfully written her first bully romance with excellent push and pull between our main characters. I also needed to mention that once they got together there were these beautiful little moments of communication and talks about past traumas. Seeing Talon open up not only about his awful childhood but also his insecurities that he has due to that was just this perfect intimate and heartbreaking scene.

This book is about Cin (Spice) who ends up at a private college to finish out her senior year while her FBI agent mom finishes up a project. On her first day she has a run on with the popular boy Talon (Fish Boy) and let's just say it wasn't a good first impression. From there he literally jumps into bullying her in the worst ways, but our girl Cin is strong and doesn't put up with it. As we get deeper into the story we meet an old friend of Cin's named Cody and things don't seem right with him from the very beginning. As the school year goes on and Cin and Talon continue to be at each other's throats things come to a head right when the school has spring break so they're finally able to have some time away from each other, but as soon as Cin thinks she can relax something crazy happens and she has to fight for her life. She's able to contact her mom who finds her and takes her to the only place she knows is safe for her and it just happens to be Talon's home. After a little bit of healing they both have a change of heart and start falling for each other fast and hard. Things finally seem to be going right and clicking into place, but of course it can't stay like that forever. And from there a bunch of crazy stuff happens and if you wanna know what it is you'll have to read the book yourself lol just know it DOES have a happy ending 🖤

Breaking You is the second book in the Gravity Hill series so if you haven't read book one I highly recommend you do that first. This just so happens to be my first book and first arc from this author and I must say I'm very impressed. I found myself identifying with Cin more than I thought I would, she's extremely resilient and an all around bad ass and was PERFECT for a FMC. No matter what got thrown her way she fought back and did it with a smile on her face. Talon our MMC on the other hand took a little getting used to because for about half the book he was enemy number one, but he does extremely well making up for his bad choices in the second half of the book. Taylor Wilson-West has a knack for detailed writing and I loved that the FMC was plus size, smart and was herself no matter what people said. I definitely had to warm up to our MMC, but once our FMC cracks him open and you get to the root of his problems things start to make sense. These two together were absolutely electric and ask the things they have to do through only make them stronger as a couple. I just wish we got more of their story. I do feel like we spent a long time building the narrative that Talon was the bad guy, but once the story takes a turn and the plot thickens you won't be able to put it down! All in all I think thos book was a great read and I can't wait to see what Taylor Wilson-West does next!

Breaking You is book 2 in the Gravity Hills series. This takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. In this story we go through the twists and turns of Talon (Fish Boy) and Cin (Spice).

Talon is a woman hating senior at Raynard who decides he hates Cin upon their first meeting and sets out to make her life a living hell until she either leaves Raynard or gets kicked out. Cin is a strong, resilient woman who will not let Talon deter her from finishing her senior year. No matter what Talon threw at her she held her own and went back at him. What started out as hatred quickly turned into an epic battle of trying to keep her safe.

The banter was top notch between Spice and Fish Boy. It was truly the battle of the wits between the two of them and had me laughing at some parts. You could tell even when Talon and Cin were hating on each other that there was chemistry there just waiting to be let out. Talon went from hating Cin to touch her and die and it was the sweetest, sexiest thing.

The plot was absolutely amazing and had you second guessing yourself with all the twists and turns it threw at you. It had the perfect balance of tension, angst, suspense and spice. Taylor wrote these characters so well I absolutely fell in love with them, well Talon not so much right away I wanted to throat punch him, but Cin, I fell in love with her character immediately. Talon took a little time to warm up to, but he also had a lot of trauma growing up that he never fully let go of. Talon isn’t supposed to be the lovable character at the beginning, but watching him work through his own issues and allowing Cin in on his deepest, darkest secrets really helped his character develop.

If you are a fan of dark bully romance with thriller/suspense mixed in, with spicy scenes this book is perfect for you.

Content Warnings bullying, stalking, murder (on page), attempted filicide, death of a child (mentioned), gun violence, kidnapping, negative self-worth, child neglect/abuse, sexually explicit scenes

This book is not a walk in the park, to say the least. One event follows another without giving us a second to breathe or get bored. As someone who never takes the time to read thrillers—I need my dose of romance in every book I read to be honest—I am glad I read Breaking You by Taylor Wilson-West, which combines romance, thriller and so much more.

It’s also been a while since I’ve read a bully romance, as I’m increasingly enjoying reading books with characters who are at least in their late twenties, but with this book I didn’t mind that the characters were barely adults. Even though they were far from being fully mature—which is normal for their age—they were mature enough that it did not take me out of the reading.

I loved Cin. She’s an incredible young woman. She’s sharp, she’s feisty and she doesn’t let things get to her. She’s perfectly capable of looking after herself without being so obtuse that she doesn’t accept help when she needs it. Plus, I can’t help but love her for taming Talon. If it hadn’t been for the changes he made after realising he’d been an idiot with Cin, I think I’d have spent the whole book berating him, but I’m weak and I love a good redemption arc, so Talon got back into my good graces at the same time as he got into Cin’s.

I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, Choosing You .

The start of this book had me deeply intrigued to uncover the tangled web of who everyone really is and how everything ties together. I was immediately hooked! New girl at Ravard Prep finds herself the target of popular boy and his pranks and cruelty. The banter and battle of wits were highly amusing and creative. Cin is cheeky and just an absolute badass with her quick wit and fierce personality. Talon has a hatred for women and is just a plain ol bully at first, but I did find myself enjoying reading his POV. His character development was excellent. You know I dig some found family vibes and all the characters were loved by me! Nicknames are on point in this book & Spice, oh man! For a book with a virgin FMC to still provide a 3 some in a group setting 😉 perfection! There's also mafia/FBI, murder, and cult happenings to keep you on the edge of your seat. Loved this book!
I would recommend you read the first book (Waiting For The Pieces) in the Gravity Hill series before this one, but that's totally not required. I didn't even know about the first book when I read Breaking You, and I don't feel like I missed anything crucial. I am pretty excited to read Waiting For The Pieces to see more of my favorite baker Fern and her story, though!

"... listen, Raggedy Anne, the difference between you and me is that that you've only wished Talon would bury his face in your cunt. I've experienced it, so yeah, fish food is appropriate for Fish Boy here." When I tell you I screamed with laughter...
If there was ever a book that truly displayed that fine-as-hell line between hate, obsession and love, it'd be "Breaking You" by Taylor Wilson-West. SERIOUSLY. This was the best bully romance I've read in a long time. With her mom's role as an FBI agent, Cin moves to a new school to finish her senior year. While moving in, Talon sets his sights on destroying her immediately. And Cin is at least half a saint for not murdering him in the process. Through their mutual hatred, an attachment forms between Cin and Talon. They discover there is a missing thread neither knew about that stitches them together - then tragedy strikes - and they are forced to confront their feelings for each other. Talon (and his band of brothers) become fiercely protective when Cin finds herself in trouble. And the way they fit together like pieces of a puzzle falling into place is lovely. This novel was full of frustration, and thrills, suspense and spice. This was my first read by Taylor Wilson-West, but it definitely won't be my last.

WOW. I loved this book so much! Absolutely amazing. I adore Cin she is so funny, her strength is so inspiring and she just does not give two shits! I love that. She is unfazed by talon literally welding her door shut. I aspire to be her level of unbothered one day. The Dual POV is excellent especially since we get scenes in BOTH their POV which is so incredibly hot. The bunny patch scene??? I won’t say any more but holy good GOD I was sweating.
Talon. Right. What an ass. But, the grovel? Amazing. The way he grovels is deep and it lasts throughout, Cin does not let him off lightly, as she should 👏. The storyline had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. Cins relationship with her mother was so lovely to read about, she’s the best. Reading about Cin recovering from trauma and having the support by her side was amazing. Talon is such a complex character, so interesting and he had me swooning. This was an amazing read and I’m so thankful for the ARC. 🫶♥️

First off this book had me HOOKED! It was such a good enemies to lovers and it was a lot of bully towards the fmc but not to much so it was perfectly executed! I am also so glad that I found Taylor on Threads and signed up for this arc because I would have missed out on this epic story and meeting an amazing indie author! Let me share some of my favorite things in this book.🤭⬇️

“Tell me, Spice,” he whispers against my skin. “How badly do you want my fingers buried in your cünt?”

“That’s it, baby,” Talons voice makes everything so much hotter, “watch your pretty little pü$$y in the mirror while I make you cüm using your hand.”

Taylor Wilson-West is such a versatile author and that fact is so obvious here. She can write funny, serious, heart-breaking, and inspirational all in one book and make it breathtaking.

Cin walks into campus and she stands up to Talon (the unofficial head of campus)… He feels defensive, so he doesn't like her from the beginning. She is such a strong, smart woman… Cin’s wit and charm are great to go against Talon. The banter is amazing. The spice is wonderful. We learn more answers from ‘Waiting for the Pieces.’ Its really important to read that book before ‘Breaking You.’ Both Cin and Talon are broken in their own ways and they must heal themselves and they help each other heal and that truly helps as they grow. There are some content warnings in the front of the book to make sure this book is right for you.

‘Breaking You’ broke me and put me back together again. It's such a beautiful book about love, loss, healing, and forgiveness. This book has my heart.

Y'all. I LOVE a bully romance. This probably says something about me into which I should dive deeper, but it's fine. It's fine.

Cin is new at Ravard Prep while her mother is on an undercover assignment for the FBI. Talon immediately takes issue with her presence because of his DEEP distrust of women in general and right away resolves to drive her out. Unfortunately for him, Cin isn't one to back down. Wilson-West created such a fierce heroine in Cin, I absolutely loved how she was able to take care of herself in dangerous situations.

After weeks of bullying her, when Talon sees Cin bruised and beaten, he loses it. The tortured hero has no idea what to make of his new reaction to Cin. These two grow together, learning to share their burdens. My heart broke when we learned about each of their pasts.

This was an excellent read, I highly recommend if you're into romantic suspense, bad ass heroines, and spicy mirror scenes.

I'm honestly so confused as to why this book is so highly rated. The writing and the plot of this book is very juvenile and boring. This book is labeled as a "bully romance" the worst thing that the MMC does is make fun of the FMC's name, Cinnamon, and call her mom a whore. For a book titled "Breaking You" I was expecting something a little more intense, instead I got middle school- esque insults. Also, the MMC is made out to be this bad ass bully that no one wants to mess with, and your telling me that's the best he's got, even the FMC was bored! Needless to say, if you are in the market for a bully romance I would skip this one. Lastly, this book was entirely too long to have the character relationships and the plot still be underdeveloped by the end; and this book would have been 10x better if the FMC got with the MMC's brother (they had way better chemistry). This book gets 2 ⭐ for being disappointing and boring.

This book was FISH BOY and SPICE and EVERYTHING NICE.

Oh Ms. Wilson-West, you have done it again. I loved returning to the book world of Gravity Hill so much and I just love these characters. Cin and Talon had such a fun banter and the bullying was just enough to make it heartbreaking, but fun.

ALSO... THANK YOU FOR MAKING CIN A TOUGH COOKIE. A lot of bullying books have a weak FMC and it just kills all the vibes for me, but Cin was amazing and gave Talon the kick in the pants he needed. This book was entertaining, thrilling, fun, and had the right enough of spice.

Although after this book, I have some needs that need to be met by the author.... I need Cin's mom and Mack.... I NEED TO KNOWWWWWWWWWW. Also.... need the stories of all the yummy boys in Talon's group.... I'm sorry Ms. Taylor, you got a lot of work to do!

Wow. That was NOT what I expected and lord did I love it. It took a short while to get into but by about 12% I WAS HOOKED. The story developed so fast and the characters were incredible. Talon is this massive asshole who quite frankly tries his hardest to get poor Cin kicked out of her new school. Until he shows up at her house bloody and broken and we get hit with the "Who did this to you?".

We have a virgin FMC. We have a "I cant love" MMC. We have a he falls first. We have a THR**SOME.

Honestly for a short book (308 pages) the plot was intense the tension was tensioning and the spice was damn spicing.

"Tell me, spice," he whispers against my skin. "How badly do you want boy fingers buried in your cünt?"

"Thats it baby," Talons voice makes everything so much hotter, "watch your pretty little pu$$y in the mirror while I make you cüm using your hand."

Highly highly recommend this book, the plot twists were insane and I loved every single side character. Cant wait for the next book in the series.

This was a DNF for me.

I really tried to get through it but the male MC really got on my nerves and caused me to just give up altogether. I was cringing at times because he thought that blurting out her full name was going to be something that would be embarrassing to her. I just couldn't stomach the woman-hater male MC and that is why I could not finish. Nothing against this author, I think it would have been better if we got a backstory sooner on the male MC and why he hates women so much. I think that is why I just couldn't continue to read it because I knew nothing about him or why he was so weird at the beginning of the book.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give feedback on this book as an arc reader.

Wow. I hardly even have words. This book was phenomenal.
The combination of suspense and tension (and spice) is amazing. The entire plot had me hooked from start to finish.
And not to mention the character development Talon goes through 😭
One of my favourite things is that the FMC is curvy😍 and still so desirable! Not just that, but she is powerful and brave and strong all on her own!😍

"I’ve never wanted a woman’s eyes on me, until she looked at me."

I really enjoyed reading this book, it had me feeling all of the emotions with the characters and still left me wanting more of them.

This book was a lot, in the best way. At the center is this Bully romance with a boy who's back story just broke my heart, and explains a lot about his personality, and a bad ass girl that not only gives her Bully a run for his money but is so strong mentally and physically. This girls goes through trauma like a freaking tramp surving horrible things. The two of them are just so perfect and are exactly what the other needs, their relationship is complex and has its shares of hurdles at the beginning but when it clicks it's pure perfection.
If you like broken boys and strong women you will not be disappointed ❤️

Yes. Just all the yes.

Was I read for a bully trope ABSOLUTELY NOT no I wasn’t and now I would lay my life out for Tal and Toby literally they are golden boys and I dare you to try and change my mind!

I go into books blind right, and I read book one and was all for the fmc being 28 right … and then jump into book two and it’s about the kids from book one and they are 18 so not ‘kids’ but ya know

Anyways who am I to talk I love highschool romance but this was highschool bully romance sprinkled with mob babies, cult leader daddy issues and a BADASS FMC honestly I ATE IT UP

Taylor had me gasping laughing and sobbing and I’ll never get over not having more honestly 🥹🫶

I love this book so so much. It gripped me and I didn’t want it to end, the push and pull between Talon & Cin was amazing, their chemistry really shone through. It was tense (SO TENSE) gripping, thrilling, it was truly heart wrenchingly beautiful. I have a slight obsession with Talon, I wanted to punch him at times, and he made me cry, but mostly I loved him. The book was just everything. I didn’t want it to finish…. But I blitzed through it in about 12 hours. I didnt expect to love it as much as I did, but wow honestly.

Easily one of the best bully romances I’ve read.

This is the first book that I've read by this author and I have to say that I like her writing style and I ate this book up. I finished it over two days. I am generally not a fan of the bully romance tropes (didn't know that's what this was when I started it), and I really REALLY disliked Talon for about half of this book, never dreaming that Taylor would make him redeemable somehow. Kudos to her for making me enjoy a book with a trope I normally don’t like!! That speaks volumes about her as an author, and I really enjoyed this book and all the action, twists and turns that came along with it. This is a true enemies to lovers, college bully romance. Taylor Wilson-West is a fabulous storyteller, and I would not hesitate to pick up something by her again!

Okay so I never thought I’d be into bully romance, but holy shit the hate was soooo good. I was a little thrown off by the ages at first, especially when at times they felt like they were older than they are. But! It was still so fucking 🥵

Talon was such a fucker and I loved how Cin didn’t take his shit and pushed back hard. She was so strong and I dug it!

I’m also not usually a fan of jealousy in books—it usually comes off as super embarrassing (and second hand embarrassment is something I avoid... unless it’s a really well done humiliation kink). But the jealousy here wasn’t embarrassing, it was perfect.

I need the next book yesterday!!! I’ve been teased by Banks and Henry enough!

I love me some Gravity Hills shenanigans! This time we are following Creed’s nephew, Talon, as he completes his senior year of high school at an elite boarding school. He is the epitome of grumpy and has no ability to trust women. Enter Cin, a strong bad*ss woman just trying to get her diploma and move on. Pranks and banter are flowing, secrets are revealed, bonds are challenged, family is found and the spice is spicing. No one will ever replace my bff Creed, but I loved this story and Cin was a powerful plus sized FMC which was awesome to see.

This is one of the best dark bully books I have read in a while. The main female character, Cin, is strong and kicks a** even though she has been through some traumatic experiences. I love that, even though she is a curvy virgin, she is still considered by more than one of the other characters to be se*y and desired in more ways than one.
The main male character, Talon, is an absolute A-hole and has a ridiculous amount of hate for female s*x. Throughout the book, Talon learns a lot about himself and about Cin. That causes him to go through character development. This development changes the landscape for his “relationship” with Cin.
The book follows Cin as she starts her senior year at Ravard Prep, where Talon is already attending. As soon as he sees her, he decides immediately that she must go, so he starts doing what he can to bully her, so she will leave. After Cin goes through a life-altering experience, things between them start to change. Can the changes be real? Are they two people that can be together? How will things end after they figure out everything that is going on? Where will they stand in the end? Only one way to find out. Find a comfy seat and read this book. I guarantee if you enjoy dark bully books that keep you turning the page to see what’s next, then this will definitely make you happy if you take the time. Enjoy!
This book has many triggers, so be sure to read those in the book's description before reading if you think you may have any.

I absolutely loved this book.

I was rooting for this amazing bad bitch FMC Cin right from the start. Shes everything I want in a lead role and she was written perfectly. This alone had me hooked - but then the twists and turns really had my gripping my seat. Waiting for the next thing to happen and unable to put it down.

This book, in my opinion, does waver on the lower end of spice but is in no means lacking~

This book does contain some heavy moments. So- as always, check your trigger warnings folks. They are there for a reason!

Holy moly! Definitely read the trigger warnings, but I am so glad that I read this and once I started, I really did not want to stop. Cin is such a strong woman with a huge heart and you'll cheer for her, laugh with her, cry for her, and do it all again. Talon is the morally grey MMC who isn't a good guy, but wants to be one for her.

This is a bully, enemies-to-lovers story FULL of adventure, open door spice (all with people who are 18+ even though it is a new adult novel), with lots of twists and turns to keep you reading!
