Seeking a man that doesn't want to be found with Ceaser as his only companion, Yiwon finds himself growing irrevocably attached to the mafioso. But when the mysteries of Yiwon's past come to light, he's caught in a web of lies and schemes deeper than he ever could have imagined. Betrayal pushes both men to the edge and dangerous obsession turns lethal.

Can Yiwon escape? Does he want to? In a world of deception and double-crossing, who can be trusted?

“They didn’t speak; but, somehow, Leewon felt as though something passed between them in those minutes that went beyond words, something beyond anything they’d ever shared before.”

I knew it was coming but it didn’t make it any easier to read. Poor Leewon! My heart shattered for him, but man the twists in this are just…chefs kiss!

Ceaser’s apologize was a complete joke but that’s Ceaser for you, unhinged and going to do what he wants 🤷🏼‍♀️

I love this power duo, can’t wait to read the next 2 books!

Kind of a simple story, very predictable, with some fun moments. The non-con felt very out of place and the MC's reaction to it I think was just not good enough, I'd expect some angst or something... but oh well. Just a silly little novel about silly little gangsters. Something you read without really turning on your brain.

I love when authors just go absolutely insane at the end of their books and write just completely left field stuff. Let your crazy out friend, good for you. We take a hard left turn by the end of this book with Caesar going from pushy mafia guy to full on yandere insane person. Yiwon and his Stockholm syndrome though means I just watch on in horror and these two stick with each other forever. I was a little annoyed because I felt the coup at the end wrapped up a bit too quickly for my liking. Overall though a wild and exciting story. No notes. Happy I read it. I had a great time. Don't read if you hate toxic relationships though. Or yanderes. You won't have fun.

this is probably not for the faint of heart cz ceasar is wholly messed up and lives by his own set of rules, but when it comes to yiwon he gives unhinged a new meaning. should also come with a tw but yeah im not surprised with a mafia boss i suppose.

Knocking a star off for a completely unnecessary turn for the rapey and yandere from Ceasar. Yes, he's a mafia don. Yes, he's a bad guy. But his redemption arc due to his love is completely undercut by this one, lengthy, and unnecessary scene.

CW: rape, dub con

Was this a 5 star read? No. Will I still give it 5 stars for the trauma I have endured? Yes.
