Awesome!!!
Heathen and the Cerberus guys are just starting up shop in Vegas and this is the first installment in this new location. I don’t know how Ms. James does it because every Cerberus MC book seems just as fresh as the one prior with me falling for another of the heroic men and women she writes about. I always love how Cerberus MC is there for those in need of help especially in human trafficking.
When things take a turn for the the grocery store clerk it is Heathen who is there to do anything he can to help her out of a dangerous situation she has gotten herself into…even marrying her on the spot in front of her captors. Kaylee has been hurt in the past and has been struggling to keep her head above water.
OMG!! The drama, suspense, steam and laughter at just the right moment make this a five plus star book for me. This is a one sit read because it was definitely a page turner I couldn’t put down. I cannot wait to see what Ms. James brings next to the table. (Eggplant!!)

3.75stars—HEATHEN : A Very Cerberus Halloween is the first instalment in Marie James’ contemporary, an adult CERBERUS MC: LAS VEGAS MC romantic suspense series focusing on the members of the Cerberus MC- all former members of the US Marines. Cerberus MC: Las Vegas is a spin off set in the author’s Cerberus MC world. This is thirty year old, former US Marine Ellis ‘Heathen’ Burke, and twenty-six grocery store clerk year old Kaylee Rhodes’ story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Kaylee and Heathen) HEATHEN follows in the wake of the Cerberus MC setting up a new chapter in Las Vegas Ellis ‘Heathen ‘ Burke is one of several Cerberus MC members to be assigned to Las Vegas in their endeavour to hunt down human traffickers but Heathen never expected the first woman he met to fall victim to the very people he is fighting to take down. Marrying Kaylee to protect her life, Heathen must face the men of Cerberus MC, in the hopes of uncovering the people responsible.
The world building focuses on the start up of the Las Vegas chapter of the Cerberus MC, and their first foray into taking down a human trafficking ring selling Russian brides, and one home grown American woman who made herself a target of some powerful men. A little TSTL (Too stupid to live) Kaylee walked into trouble wherever she went, bringing with it trouble to the Cerberus MC.
The relationship between Heathen and Kaylee begins when Heathen suspects Kaylee is in trouble. Heathen had previously met Kaylee at her job but finding Haylee’s car at a suspicious warehouse eventually brought the wrath of the Cerberus MC to their door. Marrying Haylee to keep her safe meant bringing facing the MC he would soon call brothers but marrying Haylee would be questioned by all. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
We are introduced to the new members for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Cerberus MC (Twisted, Bandera, Rooster) ,as well as the return of some of the original brothers (Kincaid and Dominic). We are introduced to Haylee’s best friend Morgan.
HEATHEN is a story of new beginning and friendships, power and control, betrayal and madness, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is haunting; the romance is slow building and guarded ; the characters are determined and spirited but Kaylee Burke’s behavior was often questionable in the face of what was happening and why.
As to the ‘Halloween’ aspect of the story line-it is limited and almost non-existent.

A new location with new faces, and a few familiar ones too 😉
Heathen gives readers their first glimpse into the Las Vegas Chapter of Cerberus MC with Ellis (Heathen) and Kaylee’s story. Heathen’s protective nature has him going to great lengths in order to protect grocery worker Kaylee from being dragged even further into the evil clutches of an organisation she had no business being concerned with in the first place.
The whirlwind relationship between the pair begins in the cereal aisle of all places, some knocked-over boxes put Ellis in Kaylee’s bad books from the get-go, and the fact that she has a bit of an attitude towards him makes her all the more enchanting to him. And when normally shy Kaylee who lives her life in a rather monotonous way finds herself in danger, it’s the handsomely annoying man from the grocery store who comes to her rescue, reassuring her that she’s safe and that he’ll get her out of harm’s way. Who’d have thought being sent for toilet rolls would lead Ellis towards discovering a link to one of Vegas’ many sex trafficking rings. In doing so he sets out to help Kaylee by doing what Cerberus has trained him for…. not before he marries her first that is.
As they both come to terms with their new relationship status we readers are introduced to host of new Cerberus team members, getting a quick insight into what life will be like within the new Vegas chapter. We’re also treated to a few cameos from some familiar faces throughout. This may only be the first book from the new chapter but I can already tell these guys, and gals will be loved just as much as the OG’s. Buckle up readers I predict we’re in for a wild ride, Sin City style.

Maybe it'll be mentioned in an upcoming Cerberus book, but the MC expanding to Las Vegas was kind of a surprise since other than someone briefly mentioning that may be a future location, it was never talked about.
Heathen is kind of a weird character compared to the others because he is so afraid of saying the wrong thing. It was a big contrast to other characters in the books, who aren't afraid to give their women some details. His family thing being made a big deal early on was also baffling, because we didn't really hear much about it after Ellie called. He didn't even call her back in the book like he promised ... I thought maybe we'd see more of that relationship.
I have to say though, I'm not a fan of Kaylee. She is dumb af for not only going into that warehouse, but also filling out an application and not reading the fine print. Girl, you aren't an investigator, first of all. Second, are you asking to be trafficked? And then to think that he wanted her to leave even after he told her his feelings because she didn't want to have a conversation. No thanks.
I'm interested in where the blind date stalker storyline goes, so I'll definitely stick with this spinoff, but I'm happy we got Kaylee out of the way - hopefully she stays there.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - Marie James has crafted a world that I gladly lose myself in, whenever I can!
As you should know by now, Cerberus has expanded their operations to Tennessee, and now Las Vegas. Hemlock and Ace (and the guys in TN) were just as addictive as the OGs in the NM chapter, but - OH BOY - is the Las Vegas crew comin' in hot! I wasn't able to tear myself away from these pages until I got Ellis and Kaylee's HEA.
Everything we want, need, and love about this author's creativity shines brightly in this one. The comraderies between the new club brothers, the dangers surrounding Kaylee (that she did to herself, btw ... so frustrating!), and the HEA we want for these guys is engaging and addictive. This book pulled lots of emotions from me (like all of this author's books) and I ended my read VERY excited to see how this club evolves.
Of course I'm going to tell you to read in order for the best experience, but honestly, you can begin with Hemlock, Ace, then Heathen, and enjoy.
I am infinitely thankful to this author for my complimentary copy of this book, and happily leave my review.

This was another great story from Marie James.
Heathen(Ellis) knew he had found his place with Cerberus, now he is headed to the new chapter in Las Vegas. He meets Kaylee on his first task of stocking the new compound and getting it ready for the rest of the crew.
Kaylee is worried about the disappearance of one of her regular customers, when she goes looking for her she gets herself into some trouble. Heathen then goes looking for Kaylee and without notifying the Cerberus leaders he takes action on his own knowing that it may get him into heat with Kincaid and the rest of the Cerberus OG's.
We get an introduction to the new Cerberus Chapter and a visit from past favorites as they help Heathen and Kaylee. With the wonderful story telling power of Marie James we get just what we came for with this new chapter in the Cerberus MC. This is definitely a page turner making you want to know just how Heathen and Kaylee are going to find their way to their HEA and what happened to that missing woman.

Ok, I say this every time I review a book by Marie James, but she's done it again.
I thought Kincaid, the OG from Cerberus, was my favorite, but after being introduced to Ellis (Heathen) Burke, he's a very close second.
Cerberus has started another chapter in Las Vegas, and I'm loving it already.
The first story revolves around Ellis and Kaylee Rhodes. Kaylee moved from her small town in Texas to get away from all the gossip, but her curiosity gets the best of her and she lands herself in a very dangerous situation. In steps Heather. After meeting her in the grocery story she works in, he becomes protective of her, and thus becomes his first job as the new team in Las Vegas.
What they both go through to get her to safety ends up with a ring on both their fingers.
This book had me wanting to climb inside to "smack" them both. Communication was not their strong points, but after all the confusion, twists and turns, and suspense they finally get their HEA.
Make sure to read the bonus! I'm pretty sure it's a glimpse into the Cerberus chapter furture in Vegas!.

A new chapter is starting up in Las Vegas of the Cerberus MC. The men have started to trickle into the huge place that was purchased to house this chapter and things are heating up right off.
Heathen is sent to do the grocery shopping for the house and causes problems right off in the small grocery store when he tries to avoid a child running wild in the store. He isn't making a good first impression on the clerk that is working her tail off to make a living and live her life on her terms.
Kaylee is not happy with her life, but she's doing the best she can with what she can. When she puts her life in danger, without knowing it, she also attracts the eye of the man that caused her hard work to be knocked to the ground in the store. At least he didn't blame the mess on the child that was running wild in the store while the mother was trying to corral him.
I love Ms. James' Cerberus men and women and this new chapter looks to be just as great as the others. I am looking forward to so many more of her books in the Cerberus MC and the various chapters.

Husband in shining armor
This is book 1 in the new Las Vegas Chapter of Cerberus MC. What a start. Marie James has introduced a whole new set of characters in the Cerberus Universe. They are rugged, tough and big ole sweeties at the heart of it. I can’t wait to get their stories.
Heathen was sent for groceries. Who would have thought he would be the first person to find a link to the sex traffic ring in Vegas. Who thought in order to save her he would have to marry her. Kaylee wasn’t brave and didn’t step outside the box of boring. Why was she getting involved in a missing girl from the store. Before she realized it she was in over her head with no way out. The annoying man from the store was here telling her she was safe he would get her out.
As they both maneuver their new relationship and finding a way to catch the leader can they find away to eachother?.

A fantastic beginning to this new series
I'm not someone who likes changes, and I wasn't sure what to expect from the new chapters of Cerberus MC. However, I shouldn't have doubted the talents of this author, as I have loved all of the books I've read so far in the Tennessee and Las Vegas series'. I'm sure that the original Cerberus MC will always be my favorite, but both of these new series are following right behind it.
Although they're all Cerberus MC, the new chapters are focusing on the tragedies and depravity of human trafficking, among other things, going on within the US. When the guys are ready, they travel to their new home in Las Vegas, and are instructed to get to know everything they can about their new city before beginning any cases. It's certainly going to be an interesting and exciting new series!
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Fake marriage is one of my favorites...i love when a relationship starts that way and evolves. Heathen was supposed to scope out Vegas for the new Cerberus chapter. There were rules, but after meeting Kaylee by chance in the store, he notices things aren't quite right. He can't wait for everyone, and ends up in a fake marriage to save a woman he can't seem to stop thinking about. He's quickly finding he'll do anything to keep her safe, but he's developing feelings. Now he needs to figure out how to keep her when all is said and done, if they make it out unscathed.
I'm all in with this new chapter already! I love that we jumped right into the action. It wasn't dull or boring in any parts. We still see old characters and I enjoy meeting new ones. Cerberus men still fall hard and fiercely protective when it happens! I'm excited for the next installment of the Vegas chapter!

Back to the OG style story - read on KU
This is one of the best Cerberus books. It's better than anything in the series for at least 20 books. Well, Ace was good, too, but this was better.
The books in the original series had become very stale. They were all sounding the same. The FMCs were boring. The plots were extremely unor8 hadn't had any in a long time.
5 🌟 may be on the high end with the way I usually rate books, but being able to resurrect the Cerberus MC world counts for that little extra to roll it up to a 5. I'm one who thinks most books, particularly on KU, should get 3 stars, as most books are average. Books earning 4 or 5 stars should be better than average, and this one was, at least for its subgenre.
I look forward to the next books in this and the TN series.

Another new Cerberus MC Chapter! Heathen and crew head to Las Vegas to establish a new branch of Cerberus. They're instructed to hit the ground running, and keep their eyes open for issues ... but to wait until a member from the Tennessee Chapter shows up to start anything. Heck, they don't even have an assigned President for this chapter yet.
Heathen finds himself going on the first grocery run ... and almost literally runs into Kaylee ... knocking over her store display. After her clear display of irritation ... his instincts kick in and has him trailing her home. Places she drives by throws up a flag, so he gives Rooster - their IT guy - the addresses for him to check out.

Heathen and Kaylee have so much to learn from and about each other. They totally are doing this thing backwards but you do what you do to survive, right?
He hasn't even been here for one full day and what has happened in Vegas may or may not stay here in Vegas. He has a simple task to do and what ends up happening he is married within 24 hrs.

Another chapter and another crew of interesting guys to get to know.
First up is Heathen…..not quite sure how he got his nickname but we quickly get to know more about his family and excitement at being one of the first to take up residence in the new Vegas villa.
His love interest is Kaylee. A loner who has one friend in Vegas. She holds down a job in a small grocery store and pretty much works to live.
Her naive curiosity gets her into a pretty dire situation, one that Heathen finds himself offering his hand in marriage inorder to free her.
I did question her choices, I then questioned the slight insta-love situation that developed.
I think there will be some interesting characters and stories to come from this new Vegas chapter and Rooster intrigues me….

When you have a world that was created, and you just want to stay in it forever... Well, that is Marie James's Cerberus books. I love this world so much, and the cameos you get it makes it all even better.
This is Heathen and Kaylee's story. If you love and overprotective man with a heart of gold, you get that with this book. He protects Kaylee with everything he has before she even likes him!
Kaylee is trying to make ends meet and works as much as she can. She is so sweet but has so much sass. I really liked her attitude about things.
This spin-off from Cerberus is great, and I love the new chapter already. This one will have me hooked, too!

When nosey Kaylee finds herself in trouble it takes a curious Heathen to save her.
Heathen met Kaylee at the grocery store that she works at after he accidentally knocks over a display that she was working on. She was not impressed.
After going to great lengths for Heathen to save Kaylee, she still wasn't impressed my him. This chick has had to have some trauma from somewhere. Sheesh! But it took some hard truths for Kaylee to understand just what kind of danger she willingly put herself in.
What a great start to a new series. Now, I am curious about the bestie and the rest of the LV crew.

I love the world of the Cerberus MC and I LOVE Halloween so when I saw this books title Heathen: A Very Cerberus Halloween. In this book, we get introduced to the newest chapter of Cerberus in Las Vegas with Heathen. Heathen is adamant that though his brothers might be happy with their wives and families, that is NOT for him. Well, fate has other ideas and in comes Kaylee. Kaylee and Heathen’s story is a frustrating but entertaining ride with communication issues and assumptions. Heathen and his Halloween costume were a highlight of the book. I enjoyed him and Kaylee together and the journey to their HEA. I already know I’m going to love this new Cerberus chapter.

Cerberus has started a new chapter in Las Vegas, Nevada this time. It’s the perfect tourist spot to set up shop for what Cerberus does. His first night in Vegas and Heathen meets Kaylee, a clerk at a mom n pop grocery store. With these two it’s a rollercoaster of a ride in just a few days. The first meeting doesn’t leave Kaylee with a great impression of Heathen when he knocks her display over. When he finds her car in front of the same warehouse the next day, he decides to investigate. They end up unexpectedly married. They are a great couple. There are times you want to laugh, cry and knock some sense into both of them.

October 21, 2024Book one in this series and I am hooked. Loved Heathen and Kaylee. This story is one of suspense, drama and a super Alpha male. Kaylee is too naive for her own good especially when it lands her in major trouble but luckily Heathen is there to save the day and thus exposing a huge trafficking ring. These two are explosive but they cannot voice their attraction to each other therefore creating more drama that is not needed. I am so excited for this series which promises to be thrilling and action packed.

Love the start to this new series. Heathen and Kaylee are great together. On his first night in Vegas Heathen meets Kaylee who works at the local grocery store. Being a stand up guy he wants to make sure she safe when she leaves work late at night. After following her he gets a feeling something’s not right so he has the address she drove by checked into. He finds out that these address lead to mail order bride service and Kaylee somehow has gotten herself tied up in. Heathen buys her to save her while his team find a way to take down the organization and falls in love with the beautiful Kaylee. This was an amazing start to the new Cerberus branch.

Cerberus MC Las Vegas Is Finally Here!
I have been waiting patiently for this Cerberus MC Las Vegas chapter to be released and Marie James you have totally got me excited to know more about these new group of Alphas! This storyline was an entertaining read with so many twists & turns. It was great to see Kincaid & a few other previous alphas make an appearance in this book too. I also was a little disappointed & was hoping for more action packed scenes as I got into this story like I've read in past Cerberus MC books, this one was just different. But I still can't wait to see all of these new group of alphas find their HEA too & learn more about them in upcoming books.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
The 1st book of the Cerberus MC Las Vegas Chapter sets the stage for what is sure to be a PHENOMENAL series. How could this book and series not be fantastic - Cerberus MC members in sin city?!?!? Yes please and thank you.
Heathen and Kaylee are the couple introduced in this book. As is the tradition of the Cerberus family - when they fall, they fall hard. They have a sweet and funny meet-cute and things really take off from there.
We end up in the middle of a mystery and into the 1st mission for this chapter. Intrigue, drama and the bad guys are featured. We also learn of a deeper connection to a bad guy with one of the members. This whole book really sets the tone and focus for the group and I cannot wait to learn more!
We get to visit with some old friends, meet new ones, get the impression of who the next couple will be and a storyline arc being set.
DO NOT MISS THE BONUS EPILOGUE!!!! Whoa!!!! The most perfect glimpse into the future and an idea of what we may be in store for. I get the idea I’ll be shedding a few tears in the future.
Marie sets up the gentle reader for the rollercoaster ride that this Chapter of Cerberus MC will take us on. And I, for one, am 1000% here for it!!!

I have never laughed so much during a Cerberus MC book as I did with Heathen. This is not a rom com story, but it was the characters and their personalities (Kaylee and an eye roll!). The Cerberus MC Las Vegas team had some comical but serious moments too. Enjoyed Heathen and Kaylee's chemistry. In spite of the times I laughed, there were more times that my heart ached for the characters that were involved in the case that was accidently being investigated. Anxious to see where this chapter of Cerberus MC Las Vegas leads.

These men of Cerebus MC are amazing! Heathen is another great book in this series. I loved that Marie has expanded these books to other locations with new exciting characters! Heathen is a new member of the Las Vegas Cerebus MC. These men are strong, alpha, and deep down ful of heart. On the outside they are tough and intimidating. When they meet the one it all changes. Heathen is no different when he meets Kaylee. She turns his whole world around. He will do anything to protect her even is she doesn’t think she needs it. These two will have adventure that will keep you reading to late into the night. This book is a page turner with lots of action, laughter and intrigue.

Wow!!!! Loving this New Las Vegas charter chapter of the Cerberus MC. I was thrilled to be reading it. It kept me on the edge of my seat. There was love, laughter, steamingness, and some mayhem. I could not put it down and when I had to I was thrilled to have learned that my Kindle had a feature that would read the book to me. So I put my ear buds in and listened when I wasn't able to read it. Definitely a highly recommendation from me. Now it's time to go back and read the other Cerberus MC members I have missed. Cerberus has started another chapter, this time it's in Las Vegas and we meet the new members; Bandera, Rooster,Twisted and Heathen. This is Ellis "Heathen" Burke and Kaylee Rhodes story. The plot is fast pace and full of action, bit of banter between the new members, new friends, danger, lots of emotions and romance. I recommend you to read in order for the best experience, you can begin with Hemlock, Ace, then this book. NO SPOILERS!!!

This is a well written story which is an action packed emotionally charged story, with friendships, loyalty, danger, suspense, intrigue, heartbreak, challenges, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and, which all leads to an entertaining, and captivating addictive page turner.
I can't wait to read more in this fascinating series and I highly recommend this talented authors work.
