Each Reaper that is eliminated, makes the available pool of Reaper Warriors smaller. Imogen, a powerful Druid priestess, has assembled a secret female sect of Druid breeders which hold the essential genetic spark to produce a new species of humans; hybrid Druid vampires. On the chasm of a blood rite that will seal the pact between Reaper and Druid, Baird is captured by the Druid priests to be burned alive in a ceremony of fertility. When a young Druid female, Siana, allows Baird's escape, she faces a horrific punishment as a result. Can Baird rescue Siana from a brutal end and salvage the sacred promise of two species so they may unite?

Story: GOOD Intimacy Level: D.R.I.P (Don't Read In Public) + VERY Graphic Enjoyment: FAIRLY GOOD Length: 3909 kindle / 260 pgs Style: Dark Paranormal Erotica Series: The Druid Breeders (Book 1)
This is my first time reading this author's work. I also have never read any books prior that may pertain to this series, but it was ok for me personally to follow the story. You will either fall in three categories, I love it, too much sex for you with a graphic nature or I don't get it. I found it to be likable, interesting and wanted to see where it may lead to. I also can't believe I'm saying this, but there was so much sex, my brain started bleeding from the continuous visual imagines in my head. And while there is a lot of sex, there is also a plot to follow, so not to worry.
This is a dark vampire tale of Druid women and Reaper vampires. The first chapter was sexually charge as the author starts with the mating between a pure Druid woman, Imogen High Druid Priestess and the Reaper vampires, Baird, Quinn and Carrig. This mating/ blood ritual is needed as the Reapers fear humans may out breed them. So their mating with Druid women strengthens their race with a new breed. And yes, this mating took place between one Druid female and three Reapers, so the first chapter sets the pace sexually for the rest of the book while unraveling the plot.
But this story centers around Baird and Siana, a Druid priestess. It took Baird a while with his feelings but by George I think he finally got it. Quinn and Carrig protected Imogen and that was interesting seeing that situation unfold. The Reaper vampires were and are very very hot as they ooze sex with also a need to protect. And most importantly they had some vampire tendencies which I love to see within my paranormal books. There is way too many characters for me to mention that also added to this interesting tale of Reapers and Druids, some good some not so good. In this dark paranormal tale we see different forms of entities along with magic and other forms coming alive that breaths life into this story.
I commend the author on giving a storyline and not just fulling each page with just sex. But I will admit, the sex might be a little over baring for some. To the readers, very graphic sexual acts, group sex, a bit of violence and then some. So, depending on your taste and what is your tolerance level with erotica, then you may or may not enjoy this book. Read at your own risk.
The Druid Breeders (TDB) novel was FANTASTIC! Not only were we (the readers) re-introduced to Druids (male and female) and the Reapers and Faction vampire species that were introduced in the Druid Breeders series (i.e., REAPERS, BLED, HARVEST, SOW, SEED, PLOW and THRESHER {the Series}); we also met a Shaman (or two), Exotics, and amorous zombies in this novel.
The book description provides a more than adequate synopsis of what one should expect while reading this novel, so I will only provide my humble thoughts and opinions...
This novel establishes the back-story for the Druids, Reapers, Factions and Exotics that we have come to know in the Series, but may not have understood the connections in their entirety. TDB explains why these various groups and species must form alliances, albeit precarious alliances, but alliances nonetheless. They all need each other in some form—a symbiotic relationship, if you will... TDB also provides the exposition for Tarrin’s appearance and fully explains his quest and mission in THRESHER.
The novel, just as the Series, begins ‘in medias res’ and does not let go of its breathtaking pace until the end. The plot is very clear throughout TDB and not inherently predictable; there were a number of ‘jolts’ that kept me off-kilter a few times, and that’s saying a lot.
The flashbacks in the story are limited and do not steer the reader from the current storyline; in fact, they enhance the reader’s understanding of each character’s role and where/why they fit in the saga. Flashbacks also explain and support one character’s arrival and his motives in the Series which transpire after the events in TDB (refer to the comment cited above regarding Tarrin).
The characters were fleshed out and not archetypical in any way, which was refreshing.
***AN ASIDE: Speaking of Tarrin... =;-)
“Lu-cee-a, Tarrin’s mind whispered softly.” ~Marata Eros, The Druid Breeders
I subconsciously ‘channeled’ Tony (from the 1961 musical, “Westside Story”), while reading this passage. He reverently said, “Ma-ree-a,” after learning Maria’s name at the community center’s dance. ***Don’t laugh...I know I won’t be the only one! =:-)
The world-building Ms. Eros consistently paints in her books are detailed and extraordinarily descriptive; this book was no exception. This was an intriguing and eclectic group of characters to create a tangible and credible storyline around; and yes, Ms. Eros has done it again! What I love about the tales she weaves is that there IS a story amid the lush scenery and exquisitely descriptive sex scenes.
Once again, I find myself lamenting that I didn’t want this to be the only time I read about these characters —so, I am raising my hand for a TDB novel series!
The Druid Breeders novel is a great read! For those of us who read the Series, this novel adds depth to the entire concept of alliances and connecting... To those who have not been introduced to the Series of the Druid Breeders—you are in for a treat! The Series should be read in the order they were published to appreciate them, but TDB can be read as a stand-alone. Happy reading…
I want to start off by saying I really enjoyed the series of the Druid Breeders and was excited to see that the author continued with the story by writing the novel and I look forward to this novel turning into a series. The book is about a raging war in survival. The faction, reapers, vampires and priest must race to fight for the druids in order to preserve their coven. Each coven wants the druids for either their magic or breading in order to tip the scale in the battle against their enemies. There are so few druids left, so to preserve their coven the reapers make a pact with the druid’s guardian Jasmine. Both Druids and Reapers must complete a ritual in breeding in order to preserve the life line of the reapers and to start the new world order while the priests are plotting to steal the druids to increase their magic. The faction are watching and plotting their own strategies to inquire the druids for themselves. In the mist, there lies an important trump card that no one is expecting. A druid queen with exotic blood a rare lineage that is so sought after. As the war begins to collide the druid queen’s father must race to join the battle in order to save his daughter. Black magic and the undead make an appearance in this battle; and it’s hard to tell who is friend or foe because there is trickery amidst. I loved this book and its characters. There is a lot action, suspense and a whole lot of sexy males with off the chart alpha male attitude. The steamy scenes will have you blowing smoke right out of your ears. This book is definitely too hot for TV. LOL. I loved the fact that some of the characters I have grown to love from the previous druid breeder’s books make an appearance in the novella. Tarrin and Kael were two of my favorite characters, they are great warriors with kick ass attitude but that does not take away from the new characters that step on the scene Magnus, Baird, Quinn and Carrig had major sex appeal dripping form the book. It was impressive to see that the heroines of the book were just as courageous as the males and the author captured their strengths. Imogen, Siana and Seraphina could bang with the boys on their best day. I also love the fact that the story takes place before the druid breeder’s series. We the readers are given more insight to Tarrins back story. Although you can read this novel as a standalone, I highly recommend that you take the time to read the Druid Breeder’s Series to follow the future events that are taking place in the story. I really heart this author and encourage fellow readers to read her books.
I gave this book 4 ½ stars and would recommended this book to anyone who enjoys dark erotica with a twist.
Let me just say, I have been ridiculously excited for the release of this awesome novel, as many of the writer's fans have! I've been an avid reader of the complete Druid Breeders novella series (and other works)and was so pleased to find out where the breeders story all began. The Reapers' fear humans out-breeding the vampires; and the demise of the pure blooded Druid females, brings the two races together to unite and strengthen in a sexually charged Blood Ritual that takes your breath away! Imogen a powerful High Druid Priestess must share her blood, magick and virginal body with the super sexy elite vampire warriors, Baird, Quinn and Carrig, to complete the significant rite. (What a lucky girl I say!) We meet an array of characters, many you'll love and a few you will loathe! Baird is all male. He has new found feelings for the Exotic Druid priestess Siana, that don't fit into his "feed, f@#k and further the race" lifestyle. He is awesome, but his struggle with these new feelings is frustrating to say the least! Particularly when Rogue, Kael comes along and gives him competition for Sianna's attention. Can you say "Alpha Males"?! Hot, hot, hot! Siana, the daughter of Tarrin (a favourite Exotic from TDB novellas), is an amazing woman. A warrior Princess who doesn't want a bar of being owned by a male. She is strong, confident and kicks butt! But is left confused and bereft by Baird's lack of decorum when it comes to his feelings for her. The relationship forged between Imogen and her protectors, Quinn & Carrig is touching. I love the dedication the Reaper males have for their druid females. (A lesson many human males should pay attention to.) We find out about Tarrin's origins and how his search for his "dove", Lucia, came about; for those who have read the latter of TDB novellas, this is a much welcomed education! And then there is Jessamine. The old half-blood crone Druid, who's pushed for the union between the Druid females and Reapers. Is this wizened old woman what she appears or is she conniving behind the Druid females' backs with a selfish evil plot? So what this all comes down to is that this was a super steamy & sexy, intriguing, action packed and exciting novel, that grips you from the start and doesn't let you go until the end! I experienced a roller coaster ride of emotions, which is how a good book should be. In my opinion the author doesn't need her amazingly detailed erotic scenes to make this a wonderful read, with her gift of painting the scenes so descriptively, she is no doubt, an epic story teller, up there with the best of them. But I'll tell you something for nothing, they'll get you all worked up and hot and bothered, so have a fan on the ready! I gave Druid Breeders 5 stars out of 5. I look so forward to the next instalment and all the other exciting works the Marata has planned for the future!
Light bulb moment: It all makes sense now! All the back stories are finally pieced together and it makes the entire series more cohesive. In the novellas, we were just told about how things were between the Druids and the Reapers/Rogue/Faction, but now...now we get to see the pivotal moment of when things actually started changing.
There were so many different dynamics portrayed through each set of relationships, yet they all worked together to form the bigger picture. We finally get Tarrin's back story! It was everything I'd hoped for and more. It's about time we got to see what the Exotics are capable of! Sure, we had a taste of Tarrin's power before, but now we get to see it full force. He's so much more than I expected and it makes his entrance in the novellas that much better.
We see things develop between the Druid females and the Reapers that sets precedence for mating and not just making sure the race continues. Its such a gradual shift to follow that once it's solidified, you just feel like that's the way it was always supposed to be. In the other books, the Reaper's protection of the females is expected, because that's the way it's always been. But finally getting to see how it starts is touching. It also brings the age old question of whether or not you can actually just fuck someone and not develop feelings under fire.
The entire book was exciting to read. The mixed emotions, deep seated betrayals, zombies, magic...oh yeah, and the loads of super kinky sex just push this book over the top. I've come to expect fascinating, steamy things from Ms. Eros and I was not disappointed. I will never tire of reading about the Druid Breeders and this book just solidified my fandom.
I really struggled with this book. I was more frustrated and irritated with the insane back stabbing, betrayal, and deceit. However, in the end; all those back stabbing people get what they deserve.
One thing makes me angry and that is Seraphina's fate unnerves me. That is still something I don't understand. Great book in the end!
First off that book was a SCORCHER!!!!!, the pages were on fire more than once and yes I loved every minute of it.
There was so much going on, so much action so much sex and so many twists and turns I was never going to be disappointed. I actually white knuckled it on a few pages hoping that certain things were not going to happen, edge of your seat stuff.
OMG I loved the characters and a nice strong willed warrior woman right at the forefront. Loved Siana (who happens to be the daughter of Tarrin), she is to be a Druid Queen one who is also Vampire a entire rarity. She is quite innocent even though she is experienced in the wile of the woman. And she can Kick ass when the going gets rough. Baird is super mega HOT!!!! and super jealous of all the attentions Siana is giving his brethren, but does not have the full story. He is a killing machine and his smart remarks land him in a bunch of trouble with Tarrin especially – which is amusing and dangerous. Jessamine is a wicked old witch, she is definitely a character that all love to hate but boy does she bring the pain. Imogen sweet as pie and innocent as milk, makes two hot manly Reapers (Carrig (OMG cried) and Quinn) fall for her hard and who doesn't want to see a little love in all that war and chaos. I loved Seraphina I really hope she gets her own book she is a strong character with some enormous possibilities as to where her character can go (and some fiesty fights she can get into). Kael is still a mystery to me what the hell is he up to? Tarrin you big hot sexy beast I loved that he was in this one he didn't get much paper play in the last druid lead ups and he is an amazing character. (Read Thresher is you want more of a taste) Zombies although funny Im glad they did not dominate the story. The Priests – friggen sickos the lot of them but they do fit so well into the story.
There are a lot of sex scenes but each and everyone is a part of the story and in telling it the way it should be, these are not random acts of (to be blunt) farking, which is rare for an erotic novel, this extra bit of Hot chilli spice really delves into the characters personalities you see another side to them like love, degradation, hate, and especially power.
I love how Marata just sucks you into this amazing world of warriors and magic, she makes you live it and love it, and leaves you wanting more. Which I was after this one that was a cliffhanger to me I really really hope we get another Druid Breeders novella or novel, I wanna know what happens next!!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!
Also I LOVED the first cover with the girl with the fan it was AWESOME!! this one not a fan sorry.
Another winner I really cant wait to get into the spin offs, Mers and Demons and more OH MY!!!!!

This is a review of the Druid Series Books 1-9, as if this was one book. The same review will be posted for all books in this series on my Goodreads profile. Spoiler free review! Star levels may change with the different books as some were more compelling than others. But all dependent on each other. I LOVED this series. This is a pretty epic weaving of druids, vampires, Mers, etc. It is imperative, in my opinion, to read these back to back to back. Do. Not. Stop. Marata Eros has an incredible ability to paint a richly visual environment and give the reader tangible characters that you can attach to - for better or worse! To me, no matter the content or genre, if I can “see” what I’m reading, the author has gone above and beyond in creating a work of art. I became invested in the entire story, the complete lives and history that were being played out before me. This story is saturated with intense action, hot sex, mythical creatures, and a captivating history of another kind of existence. Even reading them in order, the timeline and characters can get a little confusing at times, but don’t give up, it’s worth it! After reading the entire thing, it all comes into perspective. I loved trying to work it out along the way. I truly enjoyed the back and forth of characters, timeline, events, etc. I admit I wrote the author at one point to make sure I was reading things in the right order and wasn’t missing anything, but other than that, I really, really liked having to focus as much as I did to keep it all straight. This is a pretty epic time line of events, characters and their history. It is important to read them in order. Things do seem to double back from time to time, and it is completely worth re-reading as you go along to make sure you have it straight! Not many series are worth that, again, in my opinion. This one was.
Druid Blood series 8 is the sequel to Thresher, first I like to thank Marata Eros the Author for this wonderful Gift! In this series I laughed, cried and of course could not stop reading. Three Druid sisters with different power, one betrayed the others to get what she wants.Baird was my hero unfortunately his jealousy pushed Tarrin daughter Siana away. Will Siana forgive Baird or will she move on with Kael? We shall find out In Druid Blood 9
This is the prequel & book 8 in the Druid Breeders series. Another great book by Marata Eros.
Read it first if you want to follow the series chronologically. The book is still a good stand-a-lone read. You won't be too confused if you read the other books first then this one. It also gives some of Tarrin's back story (introduced in Thresher).
So I did not finish. Read the first book and became way too confused in the second book. Author kept switching between first person and third person, sometimes within the same paragraph. MC Rachel is weak, not really likable. Way too much rape going on. I love dark erotica but this series was really just awful. Maybe someone else will find it a great read. It just wasn't for me.
All male and exotic. I wish more had taken place with him as it seemed he was a main centerpiece to the story. Want to know what happened to Siena, and did get father find his dove.
I still don't know what's going on in the series. I can't make all the puzzle pieces fit, even with this back story. But with all the great sex, I don't care.
