Faith Wilson was an entrepreneur who was self-directed, self-sufficient, and independent. She didn’t need a man or anyone to help her fulfill her goals. Faith was prepared to fulfill them all by herself.
Drake Johnston was a security guard for the St. Clair family. He took his job seriously. He took family seriously. Drake was committed to fulfilling his responsibilities and duties.
Their paths originally collided, then they recollided again, unearthing feelings that could set them on a path to their destiny. An unexpected encounter set Faith on a divergent course, one that caused her to collide with postpartum depression, and she didn’t know whether she could recover from it or not. Tests and trials tried her resolve, but Drake helped her to come out on the other side. He helped her to find love within herself and with him.
Hmmmm. Mr. Johnston redeemed himself! Thank goodness for the epilogue 🤭‼️Meanwhile, “Drake: The Flex Series” book 5 was a good read but similar to the personality of Zeek, Drake was somewhat aloof from both Faith (except when he needed a tuneup 🤷🏾♀️🥴) & Emmanuel. Faith & Drake definitely had history (I surmise just a physical one and or romanticized) and chemistry. However, I’m not sure if it’s the characters, plot development and or the structure of the book itself, but something was weird about this couple. …the majority of their emotional relationship transpired outside of this book. Honestly, I still can’t pinpoint the disconnect after five installments of the “Flex series”.🤔Nevertheless, I forging ahead. Hopefully, in this other “Guards of Mafia St. Claire” series the explanation/mystery will be revealed (to me). …Maybe I read the series out of order?🤷🏾♀️
Mental Health is so important and we must be mindful of our mental state.
The not knowing or understanding the danger of mental health when things take a turn for the worst. A lot of women go through postpartum depression and just shrug it off as if it’s not important for them to seek help and treatment. I am happy you touched on this topic because awareness is key! I am glad that Faith and Drake were able to get to the place where they knew they were meant to be and they are now a loving family.
Drake and Faith didn't even see that coming, she didn't he left her with surprise after they went and ate. Now she just had a son and calls Drake to let him know, how can these two confess the love for each other and make everything work.
Drake and Faith really loved each other.Their son was able to bring them together.Postpartum depression is real for a lot of women. Thanks for addressing it. loved this story.
I liked the context of the book got a little confusing with her doing all the memories of the past but overall it was good. Great to read about an extension of the story Clair family.
I like it, the story address, postpartum, depression, and women of color that she had to support of her family. And then she learned that the word independent doesn’t mean you don’t need anyone in your life.
