In this romantic comedy manga, marriage comes before love for a pair of total opposites!
For the sake of her family's farm, Hanabata Mikan has been arranged to marry the heir of a food and holdings company, Yonoi Tsukihiko. Mikan refuses, saying she already has a man she loves, only for Tsukihiko to laugh in her face! He finds romance and love unnecessary and has no intentions of changing his views. But Mikan can't get married to a man who doesn't believe in love...right? Is this pair doomed to rot, or can a love ripen between two total opposites?
This was a lot of fun. I always adore a good grumpy/sunshine dynamic. And while Mikan is the sunshine, she's also a bit unhinged, and grumpy Yonoi is also a bit of a bastard. But they both are hard workers and honest in their own way. I laughed a lot while reading this, but I'm also rooting for them to grow together.
He's primarily a dick who does business, and she's mostly love obsessed with nothing going on in her life. May try one more volume, but probably not, as I don't love all the name calling, especially before he even knows her. I'm still irritated by how much of a douche he was their first meeting.
Couldn’t even make it through the full volume. 😅 Gave up after 2 chapters, ~50%. Both leads were insufferable and I didn’t care for the “plot” either, so this was a solid Nope for me.
This is so much fun to read. I was a bit annoyed with the FL in the beginning. I kinda agreed with the ML about her being an airhead. She seems spoiled in a way that makes her unable to actually adult in life. She’s also kinda naive in a certain way but when it comes to making a point she kinda gets the deed done if you know what I mean. 😳😏 our ML is a no nonsense kinda person with little patience and a very rude and blunt demeanor. He’s not gonna sugar coat anything but something suggests he’s a tsundere. Kinda excited for that. All in all a very good first volume.

I have a love-hate relationship with this series. On the one hand, I really dislike Mikan as a female lead. She comes on to Yonoi, telling him that though she has no feelings for him, she wants to sleep with him. She even tells him that if they want to talk about the encounter in the future, they can say she came on to him, because that’s what happened. So, why, when the next day comes, does she literally lock herself in his closet when he says he doesn’t want to be in a relationship with her? She was literally a child throwing a tantrum after not getting her way, and I felt a bit of second-hand embarrassment reading through it.
I find her to be a very childish character in general, who expects everyone to just go along with all of her whims. You can’t agree to have a casual relationship—one with absolutely no romantic feelings—one night, and then freak out the next day when the other person still doesn’t have feelings? I feel like she’s absolutely not mature enough to be sleeping with anyone if this is how she’s going to act.
Although I find her to be an aggravatingly carefree character, I do think Yonoi does a very good job at countering her. Where she is crazy and all over the place, he is cold and calculating. They strangely work together. He seems to be the type of character that needs to be in control of his surroundings, and there’s absolutely no way anyone could ever be in control of this woman.
While Yonoi claims to have absolutely no feelings for her, I don’t think it’s exactly black and white. I can see him being the type to become secretly obsessed, in stark comparison to Mikan showing literally every emotion she’s feeling at all times.
All in all, if you’re looking to get into a serious with a dysfunctional couple, I would recommend this one. While both characters are filled with flaws, they somehow work together to make an entertaining story.

Immediate series drop. The female mc is an annoying nepo baby and the male mc is a creepy asshole. This was also just boring and flat as hell. I think if you want something with a similar and slightly better written vibe, you’ll like “Butterflies, Flowers”.
She’s a messy, earnest airhead. He’s full of rude honesty? Their dynamic won me over in the head, I’ll definitely borrowing volume 2 from the library for the vibes alone
