SPOILERS - ALMOST DNF I just finished chapter 363, and I can’t begin to express how infuriating this book is. Apparently it’s unfinished, but I’m SOOOO done. When it first started out, I was pretty enthralled with the story. But as the story goes on, the author sends you into a tailspin on WTF IS GOING ON. I have never felt like I was being gaslit by a fucking book before, but here we are. I feel so damn bad for Luca, one of our MMC’s, who halfway through the book, the author just starts picking on him. Like maybe the author just decided they didn’t like him anymore? He is treated so unfairly, I am basically cheering for his to break this stupid bond. The FMC, Ari, is a selfish, childish brat who has unimaginable limitless magic power, and manages to be top in her class, despite being the absolute worst espionage student of all time. I could go on and on about the strange dynamics between her and entire family and Luca. They all treat him like shit and even Ari is clearly favoring Jackson to the point where she’s treating Luca like shit and giving him only Jackson’s leftover scraps of attention. And everyone is surprised when Luca finally loses it? Like Ariel and Jackson can do no wrong and everyone should just be grateful to be in Ari’s orbit? Nah. She ain’t that great.
This story had so much potential, but the author is writing it into the dirt.
Goes to Chpt 213 (aka 313), ends on a cliff hanger wish there was more chapters available.
Goodnovel shows up to 400 chapters but with those pay to read apps, they split chapters into small chunks to get more out. I'll just wait till Novel Drama or Ocean of PDF upload more.
I enjoyed the first two books in the series. Once or twice there was a misspelling or an out of place word in the second book, but I dismissed it as something that would be missed if the book wasn’t actually read, because they were things spellcheck wouldn’t catch. But the amount of misspellings, repetitive words/phrases, and missing or out of place words in book three was both elementary and disappointing. What started out as a few instances here and there turned into occurrences on every freaking page by the end. I found myself having to omit words/phrases so the sentence would read correctly. NOT an acceptable version or situation, and definitely NOT acceptable when it’s a book you pay for.
The story itself was good. I started to loose interest about 2/3 through. It became very repetitive with Ari being torn between her two mates, etc. But there really should’ve been some warning or heads up that even though Amazon lists 3 out of 3 books in the series, the story itself is left unfinished and incomplete; no cliffhanger or teaser. Just an incomplete thought/chapter. I understand series can have more than 3 books, but some heads up regarding that this one was currently incomplete would have been great before investing both time and money into it.
Really?? 1000+ pages and STILL NO SMUT??! Id be so pissed if I was still buying it by the chapter.
I'm a little confused, I thought this was going to be fun threesomes by now and it feels like it's dragging out just to have chapters to sell. The first two books were somehow riviting to me. I ate them up so fast. But after the fight it seems like the author is just dragging it out. At first I didn't mind but by the end of book 3 I felt like I was never going to get resolution... not worth buying the next book because I'm just going to get strung along some more. Which is weird for me to feel... I mean Tolstoy is my favorite author for God's sake. it's not about the page count, it's about the story feeling odd.
I really love the banter and the characters, which is why I keep buying the books but I think I'm going to take a little break. Read something else for a bit. I'm all for Slow burn but DANG that's slow.

Don't waste your money. $25 for three sets of chapters claiming to be three separate books and the story is not even finished This is the type of book style you see on reading apps where you buy coins to read and I am disappointed they published this on KU. That said, the story was ok. The first section was intriguing enough but I was bored by the 2nd section. A lot of empty plot just to fill pages, wolves who never shift and a main character is supposed to have magic which is only mentioned twice in all 3 "books". Why even bother? I read the 3rd thinking it might get more interesting.. It could have but author is dragging the story out way too much. I won't bother reading the rest if it ever gets published
