In the first part of the book the author covers many pages retelling which horse he rode in which event and how they hurdled or jumped obstacles. two stars at best for reader interest The interest picks up when he journeys to Queensland with encounters of the aborigines, admitting to riding on "dispersals". he also recounts brushes with bushrangers, including being present at the capture of the capture of Frank Gardiner. Also encountering bushrangers holding up a station.. There are more anecdotes in the second part of the book which makes for a more interesting read
