Between the Stacks: Behind the Lens

Rate this book
Lyra Jenkins
My dorm burned down. Not because of carelessness, on purpose. After being taken to the hospital, I answered a school ad for housing. Who knew I’d get paired with the sexy librarian or that he would change my life forever?

Cole Farmer
Working for Behind the Lens gave me the opportunity to explore my sexuality more. Having my step-bro, Scott with me... Even better. Hiding our feelings for each other took a toll on our relationship, but now, we’re thick as thieves.
Until Lyra came into both of our lives.

Scott Ellison
Being an adult film star isn’t everything to me. I had plans and goals. It was something to help pay the bills and our tuition when my father and Cole’s mother cut us off. However, meeting Lyra changed everything, and now I’m afraid she’ll be the one to ruin us.

It’s lights, camera, action, baby.

Now’s not the time to back out.

August “Lowe” Barlowe
I never pictured myself as the relationship type. I had my best friend, Jonesy, a great job at Mystic College and adult movies. Asking for more seemed greedy. However, after a fire on campus brings a wide-eyed beauty stumbling through my door, my life changed forever. She has me rethinking my very existence.

And I wanted more.

Dang this book was really good. I love the chemistry between all the characters but I wish Jonsey got his own POV. But i devoured this book in one sitting and I need more. Also for my first book by this author i definitely approve.

This is my introduction to TL Reeve's books and man am I hooked. It was such a quick, yet very spicy read. From the very beginning we had some MM action and not only that but group and individual scenes as well. I do wish there was more development, it's totally worth the read. I really enjoyed this and definitely going to check out TL Reeve's books!

This was my first story by TL Reeve and I think I just found a new author that I need to dive into (sorry ever growing TBR)

What I really loved about this story was that it was so different from the first story in this series, something that I love when I read worlds created by Bre Rose and Cassie Lien in a format like this. I loved getting to see just how Lyra, Cole, Scott and Lowe fit into the Behind the Lens World. Lyra is down on her luck in her first semester of college due to the hero complex of the RA in her building. With no where to turn and the dread of returning home and hearing what a failure she is for trying to change the course of her life, she applies to live with a professor to finish out the year. What she wasn't expecting was the chemistry between her and the professor, let alone the two other boys who suddenly live there as well, including one who is in her statistics class. Throw in the professor's layer and all of my brain cells and nerve endings were frazzled in the best way possible.

I loved each of these characters- there was such a contrast between each of them and between all of them, there wasn't a shortage of tropes they all fulfilled- forbidden, professor/student, taboo (step-siblings), masked man- if you can think of a trope, it probably was in this story. Their idea for their month in the calendar was fantastic- I certainly wouldn't mind some after hours action in a library now- and the chemistry they all built outside of that shoot in the days leading up to it was delicious- their dirty mouths and full attention to Lyra had me swooning more times than once and I was finding that I didn't want to put the story down for anything!. My only complaints were that we did not get enough of Jonsey- he was such a vital character to everything and I feel like we missed out on so much without his POV added into the story. I would have loved, loved, loved to see more of him and his thoughts on the whole situation, especially since he wasn't just a bystander, he was an integral part of Lowe's life. I also found myself at times wishing the story wasn't as rushed. There were moments where I felt like I had received whiplash from how fast the events were happening. One minute we were here and then BAM somewhere else. The story flowed nicely and was really easy to read without confusion, I just wish there was more time devoted to some of the moments leading up to the shoot- it felt like they were discussing the script and then all of a sudden it was happening.

Great second installment to the Behind the Lens series. I can't wait to see what comes next and what idea for the next calendar month will be!

This is the first book I read by this author. It was really good. It was very unexpected and I loved it. That is how they made their living while going to school. Cole’s mom kicked him out when he was 10 and he went to live with his dad. This is where he met Scott. Scott’s mom was married to Cole’s dad. Scott and Cole became real close. Their parents kicked them out when they were 17. They lived with various friends until they went to college. They made their living together. They were in the fire fighter program at college. Lyra was in one of Scott’s classes but he never got the nerve to talk to her. One day Lyra’s dorm burned down and she was being treated by the paramedics for smoke inhalation. The dorm burned down and all the students lost everything. They had a sign up for students to temporarily live with the professors. They had to apply for it so she did. She had an interview with professor Lowe to see if they were a good fit. She never left. Scotty and Cole knew the professor. So he invited them over because he knew they like Lyra. They all became really close. Jonesy was Lowe’s best friend and he was staying at the house as well. Definitely a great read. I love how it all played out. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Library Lovers Day!!

Behind the Stacks is a mix of age gap, step-brothers, professor and students, and mm. All the delicious taboo wrapped up nicely and delivered to us in one book, and I am here for it. I devoured this so quickly that I was upset when it was over and was planning on begging, borrowing, or stealing anything for the author to give me more!

Lyra loses everything when her college dorm catches fire. Cole and Scott are in the same college going through the firemen program. When they get to the scene, they realize it's her building. The secret, they have a crush on her. Enter Professor Lowe, who by the universities insistent opens his home to a student for housing and accepts Lyra. This is where the book takes off! Lowe, Scott, and Cole are friends and may have an ulterior motive for the move. Also, throwing in Jonsey, Lowes lawyer, and the group is completely. Between Scott and Cole relationship and Lowe and Jonsey's best friendship, Lyra is the bridge that connects them all together and brings the relationship to what is.

I loved this story and would love to see more in the future. This is a standalone in the Behind the Lens shared world.

Who doesn't wanna do it in the library?

This book is in a series of books involving a cam company called Behind the Lense.

Lyra is a college student that finds herself needing housing after her dorm burned down. When she finds herself now living in the staff housing with Dr. Barlowe she never expected she would get more than a place to stay.

Cole and Scott are step brothers with a cam channel. This gave them a way to pay for school, explore their sexuality as well as indulge in each other.

Dr. Barlowe works for the college and makes adult movies for Behind the Lens. He isn't a relationship kind of guy but him and his best friend Jonsey have a casual thing. When he is tasked with creating a movie and posing for the calendar with the month of February he quickly decides what he wants to do with the help of the boys.

This may be short but its filled with a compelling story and some very very hot scenes. This includes MM as well as all of the men enjoying Lyra. The scenes are super hot and I'd absolutely watch the movie.

So much more than I was expecting!
Lyra is a college student whose dorm has just burned to the ground. That brings her into the lives of Scott and Cam - step brothers who do cam videos and August/Lowe and Jonesy, who are best friends with benefits. August is a professor at the college and moonlights as “Lowe”, a masked cam video star.
Lyra catches the interest of these men, so a plan is put into place to give Lyra a place to live and all the men will propose a new life together.
This is a reverse harem, why choose with MFMM, MF, MM with no lack of steam and spice! They all become a family and all of them have plenty of fun together while building true relationships.
Not my usual type of read as I’ve read too many why choose stories that were lacking, but this one wasn’t lacking at all!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the story from start to finish. It was a fast paced, super hot, engaging HEA story and I loved it all.
This is a new to me author, but it won’t be the last book I’ll read. I’m planning to go and find more books to add to my TBR list!

Between The Stacks is the second book in the Behind The Lens shared world series. This is a spicy romance with oh so many tropes and a nice amount of open door spice. All books in this series can easily be read as a standalone without much confusion.
Holy tropes batman! Between the Stacks has Why Choose with MMMMF, Age Gap, Mild Forced Proximity, Step Brother, and Student-Teacher, with every last one of this tropes brilliantly weaved into a body positive, adult industry worker positive, fun and quick story. I loved how descriptive the author was with the characters, my crush on Mathew Lilliard has grown exponentially after encountering Jonesy. I adored how smoothly all the characters connected with each other, it is rare to have five main characters vibe so completely in so few pages. The plot unfolds rapidly, yet coherently, taking the reader on a fun and fabulous journey The only difficulty I had following along was when Nova and Lorna were first brought into the story, If you had not read the first book in the series, it took some time to figure out who they are.

I really enjoyed this book; the characters were loveable and honestly, I found myself invested in their relationships. The spice was great, which is amazing because the book is mainly spice/smut focused. The book is good for what it is: a quick, smutty, cute read. Though in my opinion it has so much potential to be more if it were longer. The first half of the book was great; I was hooked and invested but after that, it felt like the second half was rushed and it stinks because I truly enjoyed it for what it was. My biggest gripe with the book, though, was Jonesy being treated as a side character when he was a very crucial part of the dynamic. He was just as involved in the book as the MC's but he wasn't given a POV or the same treatment as them, which honestly just didn't make sense to me. But i digress for what it is currently, the book is great, its short smutty and gets the job done and i had a fun time reading it.

This is the first book I have read from TL Reeve and I absolutely loved it. I only stopped reading when I had to be an adult.

This is a Why Choose book, that has four lovers for our FMC Lyra. She has Scott, Cole, Lowe and Jonesy. When they first meet it was due to her dorm burning down. The professor's had to open there house to atleast one student. Lowe took Lyra in since she applied and Scott and Cole was in to her.

What happens between the five of them? Do they try to have a relationship? Does Lowe send her home at the end of the semester? How do they approach Lyra to do the movie with them? How does she feel about what Cole, Scott and Lowe do for a living? Does Jonesy take over all legal aspects of Lyra's career? Where do they see their selves in the future? Let's finish reading to find out!

This book is part of the Behind the Lens series which includes 12 books. The books are all written by 12 different but amazing authors. I love that this series will introduce me to some new incredible authors. I read the first book “Bittersweet Sim-phony” so I was excited to read the next release in this series.
This was a sexy and steamy read! The Story was so much better than I expected it to be. The characters were so real and I need that “lawyer” in my life! The relationships between the characters were great and the sexy scenes were panty-melting! By the way, my husband thanks you for that! Lol
Thank you, TL Reeve for such a steamy and mouth-watering story. I need to check out your other work because I loved this book so much! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series when it is released!

This is the second book in the Behind the Lens series which features a different author each month for the year.

Between the Stacks didn’t disappoint. It was a short, super fast read that never took its foot off the pedal. The back story for Lyra was great and she was a well rounded character (in all ways). She found herself in a Why Choose situation which led to some pretty steamy encounters with Cole, Scott, Lowe and Jonesy. I absolutely adored Cole who seemed so sweet and gentle while Jonesy remained a mysterious, enigmatic character. Lowe brought the age gap trope to the book really well.

I wish the book had been a bit longer and developed the four guys as much as Lyra but overall it was a great read which I devoured in a few hours.

After a fire in her dorm, Lyra needs somewhere to stay. If that happens to be in the home of the very sexy librarian, who has 3 other adult star friends around quite a bit, then I guess a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

This book was amazing. Getting thrown right into the "action" with meeting our men and their back stories/places in live was such a perfect opener. Then add in some drama, a temporary damsel in distress, forced proximity and you have a recipe for a fire story!

Loved the FMC and her valiant attempts to resist. The interactions and personalities of the MMC's were exactly what you love about why choose men and the spicy scenes were perfect. I want more stories about these characters and and utterly loving this shared world.

Liked the story (plot) and the writing. To me the characters had good enough chemistry between them that it kept me reading. Even though it was said and not shown the characters did spent time with the fmc and they all got to know each other. They already had that attraction and chemistry from the beginning but the more time they spent together the stronger and more intense the chemistry and connection got.

It was a fast read. Even though I did enjoy it I would have liked a little more one on one time between her and the guys like actually read about it.

I loved the fact that she went along with everything they told her and wanted her to do. She had questions but she was all for it. I enjoyed it and would definitely read more books by this author.

Between the Stacks by TL Reeve is part of the Behind the Lens shared world series of books. This a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book! It is a contemporary why choose romance novel. The book is loaded with delicious chemistry and a great plot. The characters were well fleshed out and brought to life on the page. It really fit within the story and series.

The main link in this interconnected world is the cam company Behind the Lens. I love how this theme interconnects them but after that the stories take on a life of there own and represent the author. This story involves a college student Lyra who lost everything until she meets Professor Barlow, Jonsey, Cole and Scott.

Such a great book and I hope to read more by this author and in this series.

Book two in the shared world of standalones Behind The Lens. A fun and quick read. Why choose college romance with great spice. I enjoyed the main characters. But I think Lowe captured me the most. With the guys having existing relationships prior to meeting Lyra, made it all a little easier to follow.
The first half of the book was great, and i loved the build up. The second half felt a little rushed. I missed some character and relationship development to make it truly believable and enjoyable. The spice made up for a lot of it.

I enjoyed the different takes of the cam industry, and it was fun to get an insight to what they all were doing and creating.

Between the Stacks is the second in the Behind the Lens series of standalone books by multiple authors. It was a quick read for me. I couldn't put it down! There is so much chemistry between the main characters. Lyra experiences tragedy when her dorm burns down but soon finds herself living with a professor and his friends. It turns out to possibly be the best thing to happen to her. She gets to know Lowe, Jonesy, Cole, and Scott. I would have loved to have seen more Jonesy, maybe his POV? This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed the writing style. I'll definitely be reading more books by TL Reeve.

In the second book of the Behind the Lens series, you meet Scott and Cole, two stepbrothers in love with each other. They earn their living and tuition fees as very successful cam boys.
Lowe is a librarian and professor at the university and makes adult movies on the side. Jonesy is not only his lawyer, but also his best friend and partner.
A fire in a student dormitory brings all four men together with the curvy Lyla. This is the beginning of a highly exotic Why Choose Romance with a lot of ⚔️.
The story captivated me and I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. I love all the members of this unusual family.

This is book 2 in a 12 book series with multiple authors. "Behind the Lens".

This book was great. Loved the characters in it. Lyra is a shy one. I really love that she isn't cocky. She sees flaws in herself like most women do. Cole and Scotty. The sexy cam guys. But there is more to them then just the cam stuff. Lowe. The hott older librarian. Who is so kind and sweet. But boy does he have a serious dominant/control thing going . And Jonesy.he is the light hearted one. Doesn't take things too seriously but definitely takes what he wants.

Such a great read. Can't wait to pick up another book by T.L Reeves. And can't wait to finish this series

So this is the second in a shared universe and oh my do I enjoy this one. It is well written and has stepbrothers in it so count me in. Scott and Cole are together even though they are stepbrothers. Lyra her dorm burnt down and so she signed up for staying at a professor who happens to be Dr Barlowe and he knows the guys and invites them over. They work for Behind the Lens and that is an adult filming and allows for income. Now while this is short I absolutely loved this story and would've wanted more even but TL Reeve is an author to watch in my opinion. First time reading and definitely interested in more to come.

Between the Stacks is part of the Behind the Lens Series.

The first half of the story really gives you a lot of relationship and character development. There are four men and they are essentially paired off. But they come together when Lyra gets thrown into their path. This was an interesting look at the camming industry.

The second half of the story is filled with the major spice. This is where everything comes together and we get to see the why choose aspect of the story as well as delve into the film industry.

Very good addition to the series.

I’ve never dipped my toes into TL Reeve’s work before, but wowza, this one knocked my socks off! Totally not what I pictured. It’s the second book in the Behind the Lens series, but fear not—you can totally enjoy it solo. The scenes? Absolute drool-fest! We’ve got the tantalizing mix of Why Choose, age gaps, stepbrother shenanigans, and the classic professor-student dynamic, plus some sizzling MM action! If you’re a fan of deliciously taboo tales, sprint to grab this short story—trust me, you won’t regret it!

I enjoyed the book. It was a quick, easy and spicy book. The dynamics of everyone were amazing. I loved the interactions and how much they cared for her after the fire.
Now I will say I was totally hooked in the first half but the last bit started to teeter off. There was a huge focus on the how everyone felt in the beginning and the relationships but then after the 2/3 mark ish it felt a big rushed maybe? I just started to lose a bit of steam maybe.
Now that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it. I did. The spice was good and the relationships were great.

This story is full of delicious men and one very sweet farm girl.
Lyra is forced into the house of a professor after her campus dorm is destroyed by a fire.
What she doesn't know is the whirlwind that's about to take over her life.
There's absolutely no disappointment from me when it comes to this story.
While the story is fast and probably not realistic, I do not care. it was fabulous. I'll have to find more of this author's work because this was a first for me but definitely won't be the last.

A quick & very spicy read! I’ve been reading this series as it comes out and have to say it’s been pushing me to read different things. I usually would’ve chosen something a little longer but Between The Stacks was truly the perfect mix of plot to keep you interested and spice. This book follows Lowe, Jonesy, Cole, Scott, & Lyra. There’s a big fire at Lyra’s student dorm that throws everything on its head and causes a large chain reaction between all of the characters. I don’t want to give anything away so just make sure to add this one to your reading list and give it a read for yourself.

Fast Burn Reverse Harem

"Between the Stacks" by TL Reeve is the Flirty February book in the "Behind the Lens" series. This month, we celebrate Library Lovers' Day and Naughty Librarians. This fast-paced reverse harem romance is filled with spice and a variety of tropes.

TL Reeve delivers a delightful MMMMF pairing featuring well-balanced male characters: two golden retriever students pining for love, a brooding lawyer, and a dominant librarian, all contrasted with a sweet and sassy female protagonist. This new release is a quick and entertaining read!

I loved the beginning of this book; it was full of potential. I felt like it would be a great novel but turned out it was more like a novella. Shorter than expected and very rushed. It lacked a lot of depth in the story. But I loved the characters and the premise. Like I said before, it had the potential to be amazing. I hope the author goes back and re-edits this book in the future to add that depth, character conflict, something other than just spice in the story. I'd definitely read it again if she did.

So this started off kinda slow, then felt super rushed. The only saving grace was the spice. Other than that, this fell really flat for me. This was the first book from this author, and it was ok ,but I struggled to hold my attention. The spice scenes are really the only thing that made me want to continue. Lyra annoyed me. Scott Cole Lowe and Jonesie were decent but definitely didn't make me swoon or anything. It was a 4 star solely because of the spice.

I could not believe how quickly I read Between the Stacks! This book had it all... step-brothers, daddy vibes and an age-gap professor vibe that I was there for!! Lyra is a self sufficent college student who was delt a bad hand and we get to watch as 4 sexy men rush in to help. This book is a self discovery of ones self and sexuality (IMO) and it was fun to watch the relationships develop. If you like light, breezy, steamy books... this one is a must read!
