description~WRITING - PLOT - PACE~
Way back in January I took a chance on a new (to me) author and reviewed an ARC for her book DOUBLE VISION. I was blown away by how very much I enjoyed it. In the course of reading that book I was super curious about two of the secondary characters (London and Dominic), so you can imagine how very stoked I was when I saw Miz Halloran was releasing their story. Was it all I expected it to be? HELL YES! Again, I am left completely speechless by how very much I enjoyed this book. The writing was fantastic. The pace was perfect. I again (like the previous book) sat down and read it from cover to cover. The plot was super engaging. Just like the previous book, we go back and forth between "NOW" and "THEN" <--- This was slightly less effective in this book than the previous one (IMO). But not enough to affect my rating at all. There was also a HUGE twist I did not see coming, so kudos to the author for springing that on me. And last, it was all wrapped up in a very sweet ending.

~HERO~
DOMINIC...Dominic was kind of an a$$hole at the beginning of this one. I wasn't sure I was going to like him, but the author quickly had me warming up to his character. Once he got his head out of his nether region he became a very likable and very sexy hero.

~HEROINE~
LONDON...Side Note first, this is actually the second book I have read in as many days that had a heroine named LONDON with a sister named PARIS. Anyway...London was a fantastic heroine. She was feisty. She was strong. She was loving. She was sweet. She was broken. She was the perfect partner to Dominic. She was just a really great heroine.

description

~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
There were a handful of great secondary characters in this book. We see Liam briefly (the hero from DOUBLE VISION). We also get to meet Charlie and Nate (both of which I would love to read more about). We also get to see a bit of London's family (mostly her sister Paris).

~HEAT LEVEL~
Medium to High. This book was pretty high on the spice meter, that said, intercourse doesn't happen until quite late in the book. Dominic is a sadist and London is a masochist, so we have caning, and spanking. Ropes. Things like that. I didn't find it particularly hardcore or graphic though. I suppose it depends on how many BDSM books you read. I found it more "BDSM lite" but others may feel differently. This couple also has incredible on page chemistry.

~ANGST LEVEL - SEXUAL HISTORIES~
Medium...this was a somewhat angsty read. London wasn't a virgin, but she had only had sex with one other man (her husband). Dominic didn't appear to be a manwhore. He hadn't actually had intercourse with anyone since his divorce, that said, he did still scene with subs on a regular basis. There wasn't any OW or OM drama per se. Dominic does scene with at least one OW (Charlie) after meeting the heroine (but before they are anything to each other). I assumed he scened with others as well because it is a few months before he and London actually get together. But it is never mentioned. I wasn't overly bothered by this because once they sign a contract they are exclusive.

~IN THE END~
I LOVED it. This was another cracking good read from this author. She is quickly moving up on my "must read" list of authors. Excellent writing. Great pace. Engaging plot. Twist and turns. Spice. Intrigue. Great secondary characters. Awesome main characters <--- what more can you ask for? Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two very HUGE thumbs up.description

If you’ve read Double Vision, then you already know a little bit about who London and Dominic are. Still, reading their story felt brand spanking new to me, because it was a side of them that we know pretty much nothing about. Their start.

London’s past is... intense. We slowly get pieces of it, and it truly was a gritty past. Dominic we get a little less, but his past isn’t any less tragic and sad. The thing is they are exactly what each other needs although they are reluctant to admit that.

Their love story is tense. It’s full of sexual anticipation. They do have a DOM/SUB relationship, but their relationship is much much more than that. I’ve said before I’m not into DOM/SUB, or BDSM, but L.M. Halloran writes it well, and makes it about the connection and trust. Which makes it add to the main characters relationship.

All in all this is a great follow up book to Double Vision, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone. I loved taking a peek into London and Dominic’s past.

“Are we going to have a problem?”
To my shock, he smiles. Just a little curve of his mouth, but my stomach tingles alarmingly.
“Undoubtedly.”

No question, our favourite L.M Halloran book to date. Perfect Vision had everything we love in a brilliant read which captured our book loving hearts immediately. So well written, engaging, captivating, sexy and thrilling. It literally swept us up and we were riveted from first page to last. It doesn’t get more exciting than this, especially if you love an emotional BDSM romance with a suspenseful theme involving mobster-like criminal activity and everything corrupt and evil that goes with it. LM Halloran writes an intriguingly compelling and intense story which is very much character driven and we loved every single dark minute of it.

“Until you’re broken, you don’t know what you’re made of.”
‘I know who I am. They can’t break me.’

London is in hiding and living a new life trying to run from her past, as well as herself. Whilst she’s quite a strong character she also has a melancholic sadness about her hinting at the vulnerability which is a cause and affect derived from circumstances beyond her control. Whilst we say that, she also has this fierceness about her, a level head and a no nonsense attitude. Walking alongside her as she finds herself and her own strength was such an eye-opening journey as she learns to live, love and accept her truth.

‘I belong to pain and him, and they belong to me. My pain is my choice. I’m his therapy and redemption as much as he is mine.’

Dominic Cross is a dark, enigmatic and fascinating man. We were immediately kneeling at his feet from the moment we met him. At first we saw the magnificent man whose voice made us tremble, then we slowly learned of his past and what lingers below his powerful façade and fell in utter worshipping love with a need to mend the broken in him. This is the hero we fall for time and time again and whilst LM Halloran wrote a man we’ve read before, she managed to add her own touch and originality to him. No mean feat.

“You’re mine. Mine to care for, mine to command, and mine to hurt. Understood?”

“When I’m afraid of something, I don’t run away from it. I run toward it. And, Kitten, the only thing on this planet that scares me is you.”

Perfect Vision is the kind of book that makes our book-loving hearts happy. Betrayal, lies, passion, heat, retribution, and redemption all twisted and entwined in a story of love, self-discovery and forgiveness. Sometimes we truly find ourselves when faced by the ultimate heartbreak and struggle. This story is one we highly recommend for that perfect read that stops the world around you.

‘What makes a survivor? What determines how many layers must crack before the vulnerable core of a person is exposed? I only know what’s on the inside of a person can’t be determined by what’s on the outside.’

ARC received for an honest review

If you have read Double Vision, you have met our lovelies, however if you are like me, you have forgotten all about them! But never fear, Perfect Vision can be read as a complete stand alone.

I was blown away by Perfect Vision. From the minute I started reading, I was hooked and could not put it down. I couldn't get enough of London's and Dominic's story.

Their pasts are both gritty, and I loved getting a bit more as the story progressed. They are just what each other needed, without either of them knowing it or wanting it.

There are Dom/Sub/BDSM elements to this story but it is not all the story is. Their story is tense, full of tension and oh my, just when you think you know what is going to happen next.

BAM! Ms Halloran throws in a twist or two!

I think that Perfect Vision may be my favourite L.M Halloran book to date, and now I am impatiently waiting to see what she brings us next.

This book! Wow ! I just had to devour it with one read. Kept me up until 5AM.
BDSM does not so it for me normally, but this book was different, well written and gave impression, that author made her research about pain, high and crash. And that sex club vibe!
Awesome heroine, not a manwhore hero and hero has been celibate for years (shocking!). Hero was a asshole at first, but soon he was possessive, alpha and protective.

After hero withholds sex for weeks (if not months):
H: Slow, wicked smile. "How bad do you want me?"
h: A rough, disbelieving laugh barks out of me. But it only takes another few seconds for me to hobble to the treadmill.
Jamming my finger into the start button, I grumble, "That cock better taste like candy and vibrate".

I hope author writes more books with this kind of awesome hero, who are not liars, manwhores etc! Strong (NOT virgin) heroines. Such refreshing read..

This author was born to write! The mark of a fabulous author: making me love a story with themes and tropes I would normally veer away from. Dead spouses is one of them, slow burn is usually another. But I have to say this author nailed it! I loved every second of this book!

It is really difficult imo to write a story about a widow without making the new love interest seem second best. And this wasn’t so much slow burn as it was slow burn to sex, these two lit up the sheets like a supernova!

Oh and the editing!? Spot on! I didn’t spot a single typo! Hallelujah!

My only tiny complaint is I would have loved more at the end, some viciously long epilogue goodies would have made my day. All in all I am just a happy camper. This story rocked!!! I can’t wait for more... please write MORE of these! Thank you!

I was a little hesitant about this book at first because of the BDSM aspect of it but I’m so glad I followed through and read it. I really enjoyed L.M. Halloran’s writing! It gets you invested in the characters and the story. The BDSM part of it was a plot point in the overall story. There was a much deeper story to it that is well worth it to pick this book up! There’s action and surprises along with all that love and pain. When I first started reading this and talking about being submissive and dominant I thought what a weak woman to want to be submissive. But actually that’s not the case at all! She has to be so strong to handle that. It’s not a matter of one person being weaker and one person being stronger at all! I loved how both London and Dominic changed throughout the story. I highly recommend picking this one up. This is the first book I read by Ms Halloran and now I want to read everything she has ever written!

I love London
love the person she becomes and love the true vision she has as to who she is and what she wants
Dom is amazing – he went through a lot, had his heart broken, had decisions and actions that influenced tho course of his life and although London reminds him of bad times he is selfless in giving her what she needs
I found myself surprised many times – I loved how the plot evolves
I really love reading L.M Halloran books
I love her writing and the way her mind works
And I think she presents us with the BDSM world in the best way – respectful, no apologies and the benefits one gets from submission and freeing themselves of pains and past trauma through the body

Part of a duet but can be read as a standalone

The heroine was very likable she is so strong with what she has been through and still is going through . OH wow the hero just Yummy even when he was being a dill hole I would totally jump his bone would loved to see more from his point of view but it didn't take anything away on how I felt about the story . This is a novel with depth and layers and you fall, head-first, from the very beginning. Ms. Halloran's storytelling is gripping, gritty, and deceptively simple. She pulls readers in to London and Dominic's relationship, slowly peeling away their facades until you're rooting for them whole-heartedly. Yes, there are very strong BDSM elements, but they are handled with grace and only enhance the dynamic between the two main characters, not detract from it. And, as any good suspense should, as soon as you feel like London and Dominic have reached solid ground, the plot takes a massive twist. The turns and surprises are dark and fascinating, making the book's HEA even more satisfying. Perfect Vision is a riveting read. Highly recommend sitting down and doing it all in one go.

You know you’re in for one hell of a read when you literally can’t wait until you get home to continue reading so you sneak some pages at work.

Hot, intense and suspenseful are just a few words to describe this story.

Dominic and London will have you glued to your seat, they’re intense and their chemistry is off the charts. And just when you think you have the story figured out, BAM! L.M. Halloran totally throws in a plot twist!
This is my 3rd book by this author and after finishing Perfect Vision i need more from her.

A definite one click! You won’t be disappointed

This is book two in The Vision Series. It can be read as a standalone but as I loved book one Double Vision I highly recommend you read that as well.

This is Dominic and London’s story. I was so happy to read it as we met them as secondary characters in Double Vision.
These two are so good together. The chemistry is off the charts hot. Both are trying to move on from their painful pasts.

The storyline, the characters, the twists.. all make a really great read. I couldn’t put it down yet I didn’t want it to finish. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

From the very first sentence, Halloran grabbed me. “It’s one of those moments. The kind people talk about always remembering perfectly no matter how much time has passed.” My mind immediately went to defining moments in my life – where I was, who I was with, what was happening around me when those events occurred, and those details still remain crystal clear in my memory decades later. From there, Halloran's words filled my heart and stirred my soul, giving me chills as they seeped inside me and touched long forgotten parts. Reading Halloran’s work elicits full participation from the reader, which is only one of the many reasons I love it.

This book is truly sensational and there is no way for me to do it justice. Dominic and London are savagely broken yet endlessly endearing in their humanity. The way their individual backstories unfolded, with details perfectly threaded throughout the storyline, made it easy to empathize with them and be drawn into their world. London and Dominic are both deep and complex with multiple layers – layers that are surprising not only to the reader but the characters themselves. Their story is raw and gritty, dark and disquieting, but also one of rediscovery, rebirth and redemption. It will seep into your soul as these characters make a place for themselves in your heart, where they’ll remain long after the last page.

This isn’t a fun and flirty romance, with a BDSM theme that provides fascinating elements, and a suspenseful storyline with cruel and dubious actions and results along the way. But it's a fascinating story of growth, reclamation and atonement which makes it so worth reading. If you’re looking for a passive, light, easy romance you won’t find it here. But if you want a romance that demands your attention, seduces your involvement and touches the deepest part of your being, Perfect Vision is the book for you.

Overall Rating :: 4-4.5 stars
Series :: Book two of the Vision series.
Hero/Heroine :: Dominic/London
POV :: All London.
Cliffhanger :: Nope.
HEA ::

Whenever I'm in the middle of reading a L.M. Halloran book, I always stop and squeal, because I never want it to end. Her writing is addicting. It's beautiful. It's flowing. It's nicely paced. And the dialogue feels real. I mean, truly, her writing is the whole package. And I was not disappointed while reading Perfect Vision. I really just wish it was longer.

I loved London and Dominic. Especially London. She was strong. And she knew herself; knew enough to know what she needed, which was only something Dominic could give. They just complimented each other so well. I do wish we could have seen a little more of their interaction around others. It would have made their relationship, to me, feel a little more well-rounded.

Gah! Just such a great read. L.M. Halloran, I love you. And I'm not ashamed of saying so!

I was obsessed with this book. From the moment it hit my kindle, I was hooked. Dead in the water. Unable to do anything else, because this book consumed me. I don't want to give too much away with this book, other than it will pull you in and you won't be able to put it down.

Dominic Cross is a true Alpha and Dom. He gives and takes, it's a balance he has perfected. There is a ripple in his armor from his past that has the power to topple him if he bends to it. Otherwise he can rise with the help of London. He can shake off his demons and embrace a new life with London, he is the man she needs/wants. Can he do it?

London is haunted by the past. She got away when so many didn't. Did she really get away? She's still in hiding. London isn't ready for Dominic. Yet he's there and she takes the leap. Only he doesn't catch her and she falls. When her past catches up to London will Dominic be there to help her? Or will he let her fall again?

The plot, the characters, the pace of the book are all amazing. I have nothing but good things to say about this book. I'm in love with it and this is definitely one of my favorite books for 2018! Be sure to pick up this gem when it goes LIVE!

Perfect Vision was one of those books you can't put down. There was an alternate timelines, enemies-to-lovers trope, BDSM, and suspense.

I have found that BDSM books tend to focus on the logistics of the act. Hits butt with cane, soothes with hand, etc. What I absolutely loved about Perfect Vision was that the focus wasn't so much on the action, but the result - how the Sub needed the escape and how she felt after. Not just physically but emotionally and psychologically.

𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗲 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹... 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀. 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱. 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹. 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗱𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹. 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗲.

Their relationship progressed rather quickly and I felt a little whiplash on how fast these two damaged people could grow emotionally in such a short span - but I think the relationship as Dom/Sub expedited their feelings. They didn't need the typical emotional closeness because their actions made them more vulnerable than anything else.

RATING: 💋💋💋💋

Um. Wow.

Perfect Vision is a heart-pumping, intriguing, sexual story that completely blew me away. My heart is still beating out of my chest. It was so frustratingly riveting. I was wholly consumed from page one. L.M. Halloran, where have you been all my life? I don't even know how to review this because it was that good. I don't think I can explain how utterly enthralling this story is. I don't want to ruin any of it by my words. Just know this, you are in for a thrilling, sensual, sexy read that will have you begging for more.

I was engrossed with the writing, the characters are so raw that my heart actually ached for them. The snippets of "Now" left me hanging on the edge of a cliff, I couldn't get enough and while I enjoyed the love and healing happening I needed to know what was going on in the "Now". It was emotionally frustrating, yet it was done so perfectly.

You will seriously be missing out by skipping this one. I want to shout from the rooftops "READ THIS BOOK!. I'm not sure if I'll ever forget my first time reading this, and I don't want to.

This is a New to Me Author, this Book is a well written read that kept me intrigued from beginning to end. Not your everyday romance, this read has a bit of darkness along with a handful of kink. Was thrown off at first with the Then and W, but figured itu uickly enough. The characters have just the right amount of sass to keep you interested. Along with a storyline at has intrigue, mystery, lust and an unexpected loss. The twists and turns between the pages of this book will keep you absolutely enthralled.
London Limerick is an amazing woman whose life is thrown a major curveball, as she tries to remake her life, she encounters incredible obstacles. One of those obstacles is Dominic Cross, a man like no other she has ever known.
Both a little broken, both looking for answers to questions not yet asked.
Absolutely recommend to lovers of romance with a bit of a dark twist to it!

A fantastic read that did not disappoint. Dare I say, better than Double Vision?? (Runs and hides).

Although London shows vulnerability at times, she is such a strong women. Domonic Cross is dark, mysterious and charismatic - together they are the perfect match.

This story has a little of everything. Mafia, mystery, suspense and dark romance. I loved it and London is possibly one of my all time favourite lead female characters!

Perfect Vision blends the right amount of drama, suspense, romance, and love. We saw glimpses of London and Dominic in Double Vision.

The charismatic couple really shine in this book. They heal and thrive off of each other’s pain and forgiveness. The BDSM scenes are tastefully written, and as someone who doesn’t gravitate towards these types of stories, I found them interesting and well-done.

Both London and Dominic are well-developed characters, especially Dominic who is superior in his own right. Love it!

With each new book that I've read from LM Halloran, I have been blown away and this novel is no exception. In fact, this might just be my favourite so far from this amazing author and a definite favourite of the year. "Perfect Vision" is a story that is jam packed with secrets, lies, intrigue and a bucket load of steamy BDSM sex. All of these ingredients made an addictive and compelling tale that I absolutely loved. This book made me feel every single face emoji!

"Like a flower seeking sunlight. I melt into the warmth of my Dom."

Since reading Sylvia Day's Crossfire series, whenever I hear the surname cross, it evokes so much promise for me. A character that is beyond sexy and one hundred percent alpha and Dominic Cross did not disappoint. He was a Dom that made my pulse rate quicken. He was insanely hot and I fell hard for him. As for the heroine of the story, she was perfect. A submissive in the bedroom but also a strong and courageous female character. She was an easy character to root for. She was also hiding a back story that I couldn't wait to discover.

"When I'm with Dominic, there are no ghosts. There is only him."

The story is told from entirely London's POV and was also written in both the past and present day. I loved how both tales were woven together to create a spellbinding story that had me gripped and wondering what the hell had gone wrong in the past because the present day scenes were a whole lot of dark and gritty. Throw in a Jaw dropping plot twist and my emotions were all over the place. Hats off to this author for writing a novel that had the ability to captivate and shock me throughout every single chapter. I was also rewarded with an epilogue that finished off the story in the most perfect way. LM Halloran continues to amaze me with another fantastic novel.

"We each carry the loads of our past,
but now we carry them together."

I wholeheartedly recommend one-clicking this book as soon as it releases. You won't be disappointed.

"She's more than I ever dreamed of. More than I thought I deserved."

Sometimes life has a way of beating you down but sometimes, you find a spark, in a most unexpected place, to raise you from the ashes. London has lost it all, everything she's ever believed in about her marriage, her career, and her place in the world crumbled around her. After losing everything, she knows first hand the collateral damage of ambition, aspirations and greed. Now she's just trying to survive.

Fleeing her own life to the literal other side of the country, she takes a bartending job at an exclusive club just to play the bills. The job listing might've left out a thing or two about the "club" but despite her initial surprise, she finds she feels safe there. Without planning for it, her life slowly begins to rebuild; family, friends, excitement. Everything is going well, except the infuriating and delicious club owner, is getting under her skin in the worst way.

Dominic doesn't want the fiesty blonde working at the club, his club. One look at her and he knows she's dangerous to his peace of mind. He knows she's hiding something and he's been through enough to know that his club is the perfect place to satisfy his needs without having to engage with lying women. But staying away from her is harder than he expected.

Wow! Never having read this author, I wasn't sure what to expect but I loved this book. I was unaware there was another book in this series but I'll definitely be picking it up now. These two broken people were fire together. There was a constant push pull to their relationship that was exciting and real. As with any (well written) BDSM novel, the exchange of power and trust is paramount to this couple. They're the absolute perfect compliment to each other. I enjoyed the intrigue of both their pasts and the characters. Very well written book and I can't wait to start the next one.
