Hi! My name is Ana, and I hunt paranormal vermin for a living.
It's not exactly a glamorous job, but someone has to do it—the demons won’t, the angels don't care, and the Hunters have better things to do.
I don’t mind it—the less anyone pays me any attention, the better. Because if anyone in the paranormal world learns I’m the reincarnation of an ancient being who can end immortal lives, I’ll be the hunted instead of doing the hunting.
So, when rumors about my existence begin to circulate, I must cover up my tracks, no matter what.
Unfortunately, when you’re already scraping the bottom of the barrel, the only help you find comes from sources you probably don’t want. Like the magical black market, where backstabbing is more of a competitive sport than a hobby, or the sexy, infuriating nightmare that’s the angel Zel.
But when he offers me a deal that’ll keep me off everyone’s radar, how can I say no? All I have to do is help him find an obscure magical weapon. Easier said than done, especially since ending up in jail becomes a real possibility the longer we work together.
Turns out, murder is illegal, and I might just strangle him.
Delve into the fun, action-packed Urban Fantasy world of Realms Red Angel, filled with magic, banter, found family, plenty of mayhem, and a slow-burn romance.
For fans of Annette Marie, Heather G. Harris, and KM Shea.
Included in this omnibus set are all four titles in the series:
Isa Medina loves writing and reading Urban Fantasy books, playing MMORPGs, and scouring the Internet for pet pictures and beautiful art.
As a child, she was first introduced to the world of Fantasy through Dragonlance and she has never looked back. She also has a soft spot for Gothics and treasures all her old Victorian Holt paperbacks. If it has Fae, ghosts, vampires, demons, mythical creatures, or magic in it, she's all in.
This series is a great read, full of adventure & new twists on familiar beings. Ana is a wonderful character that we get to know in depth & learn about her place in her world right along with her. She's surrounded by a colorful cast of characters & interesting places (some that will make germaphobes want to bathe in sanitizer). I'm glad I got the box set, as each book leads directly into the next. The last book ends sweetly, but it feels like there will be another book, set a few years down the road. There's a big, glaring bit of unfinished business with Sol that needs to be resolved for a complete HEA, so I'm hoping for another book or a new series from Sol's pov. Angels & demons aren't usually my thing, but I do love supernatural stories, so I do recommend giving this one a read.
I'm rounding up to 5 stats. It's hard not to be fully invested in the characters by the end of the series. Ana did drive me crazy alot with her indecision and not learning from mistakes. But the other characters kept the stories moving forward so I enjoyed the whole. There is so much potential for additional, associated stories. The backstories of supporting characters would be fascinating, especially the archivist.
I didn’t have any idea if I would like the series, but Ana Calliope Holt’s quirky character sucked me in and this was just a sweet adventure with great characters.
There are books with slow-burn romance and there are books with yearning. Yet, separate from them all are the Red Angel books. Totally 1010 pages, Red Angel contained less than ten kisses and led me to starvation.
(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)
3.75*
First time read the author's work?: No
Will you be reading more?: Yes
Would you recommend?: Yes
------------ How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author) 4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author). 3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series) or 3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)
All of the above scores means I would recommend them! - 2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.) 1* = Disliked
Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)
