The reason they call it “falling” in love is because it has the potential to seriously hurt you…
ANNIE I moved to Elladine to escape my cheating ex-fiancé and focus on my nursing career. I wasn’t ready to open my heart to love again…until him. Jack Donley—the sexy, charming firefighter who pursued me, making me fall in love with him—promised not to hurt me. Everything was amazing. A once in a lifetime kind of love. Until tragedy struck …and he ruined us. My soul longs for him. But I can’t give him another chance to shatter me. I barely survived losing him the first time…
JACK When I got transferred to Station Three, I never expected to find love. I wasn’t looking for it. Why? I couldn’t afford to lose focus. For me, losing focus meant the possibility of losing lives—one very important life in particular. But then I met Annie Brooks. She’s everything I didn’t know I was missing. And she’s the first woman I’ve let myself love in years. But allowing that distraction has cost me dearly. In my pain, I broke the woman I love, heart and soul. What will it take to convince her to come back to us?
Finley Daniels writes romances that are heartfelt, healing, and filled with happy endings. Don’t be surprised if you laugh, cry, then laugh again all in the same book. Finley probably did all of those while writing it…
Finley is a voracious reader. She often loses herself (and sleep) for hours at a time into the world of whatever book she is reading… especially if she’s lucky enough to be relaxing somewhere on a warm beach near the ocean.
She loves gardening, being out in nature, and her fur babies. Her husband isn't so bad, either. She’s also obsessed with watching the owls that live in a nesting box in her back yard. That means if you follow her newsletter, you’ll undoubtedly see lots of pics featuring flowers, pups, and owls!

The man is journaling. 🫨Who can resist a grovel and redemption which includes journaling? The minute he convinces her to commit, I knew he was going to mess up on a big scale. No way is a man this perfect. But he was perfect. They were perfect. A match made in heaven. Two beautiful people - inside and out - who connect on so many levels. Loved by others. Respected by their peers, adored by their friends. Then he wasn’t so prefect.
I was SO mad at him😤😖. His fall was all the more disheartening because he’s a genuinely nice guy. I didn’t want to forgive him. I’m still angry and disappointed because he PROMISED he wouldn’t hurt her. But he did. Knowingly. And because his reasoning makes no sense to me I have to wonder if he’ll let her down this badly again. So, while he took all the steps to redeem himself, I’m not convinced that he’ll always put her feelings first in future; before his own and that of others.
🚩her ex-fiancé - Jason - cheating on her: …Standing in the doorway, I’m shocked, not able to talk or move. Jason’s mouth is moving but I don’t hear anything he says. He looks panicked. And her… I think she’s actually smirking. She’s not saying anything, just trying to cover herself up and grabbing for his arm, attempting to pull him back to her as he’s reaching for me…
🚩The hero, Jack: …Gorgeous man who hates being the center of attention, is kind and generous, loves his family, and gets sentimental when the nephew he stands in as a father figure for gives him a heartwarming gift…
🚩The heroine: …”I don’t want to be just friends. Just…just please don’t hurt me, Jack….”
🚩The hero: …“Baby, I promise I’ll never intentionally hurt you. I won’t always be perfect, but I swear to you I’m going to do my damned best to make you glad we took this chance.”
❤️NB: No cheating at all. While his choices put him in a vulnerable position to be taken advantage of, even in his drunken state, he does not cheat.
🚩His out-of-left-field betrayal and rationale for pulling away (etc) from the heroine: …My best friend is gone and I failed him. His phone showed that I was the last person he tried to call while he was still alive. And I ignored his call because I was on the phone with Annie. Maybe if I wasn’t so wrapped up in falling for Annie and spending as much time with her as I could over the last few months, I would have noticed something was different with Teddy...
…how do you tell the woman you love that you feel like loving her caused you to let your best friend down? How do you tell her that you’re a selfish ass who chose his own happiness over protecting someone else?…
…“Jack, you’re worrying me. I know it’s only been a week but you’re not being yourself…” “Has your best friend ever died? Do you think I should be all fucking sunshine and rainbows?” I snap... She looks like I slapped her. Fuck, I don’t even know where that came fro….
…has a bit of a hero complex. He has this internal drive that makes him need to try to save everyone. He can’t really help it. But when Tom died, Jack felt like he had personally failed him. He literally gave from his own body to try to save him but still felt like a failure. He felt so much grief over that.”…
🚨MY rationale: If he has such a hero complex and he’s all about protecting his people, why is he allowing HER to get hurt? Why, in his eyes, is it more okay for HER to be hurt than it is for him to explain himself to her and to, at the very least, show her he cares, even as he’s struggling to deal with his issues. Instead, his character is given a complete 360° change while he goes off the rails. Literally Saint to sinner.
“…loves you so much, Annie. Just try to hold onto that while he works his way through this.”…
…I’m stopped dead in my tracks. Ten feet in front of me, I see him. My Jack. My boyfriend. My friend. Sitting on a barstool with a glass of what looks like whiskey in front of him and an empty one next to that. His elbows are on the bar, and he’s got both of his hands over his face.…He’s not alone...A gorgeous blonde is at his side, the side furthest from me, not that it matters, but for some reason I note it. And she’s practically climbing onto his lap. She has her left hand on his thigh and her right one across his neck, touching his hair. I’m stunned and I can’t move. I can’t speak. He turns to her, his back to me and puts his hands on her hips. It’s like the moment his hands make contact with her body, time starts moving at regular speed again and crashes back into me full force, stealing my breath…
“It’s not what it looked like…” he starts… “Isn’t it, Jack? Because it looked like some hot blonde was hanging all over you and you were letting her. And it looked like you put your fucking hands on her fucking hips!…”…
…”You’ve been treating her like shit for two weeks now, and then she comes to the bar to help you, and finds you with another women…”
…I’ve made the woman I love with everything in me give up on our relationship. It all hits me so hard that a sob of grief rips from my lips…
…“I know I didn’t cheat on Annie,” I respond. …”She admitted that when you put your hands on her, it was to push her away, nothing else...”
🚩The heroine: …“I didn’t want any of this…” I say, practically whispering now, gesturing between us. “What?” he asks quietly, looking stunned and having the gall to look hurt. “I didn’t want this. And you made me want it. You promised you weren’t going to hurt me like Jason did, but you did worse. You pushed me to give you a chance. You made me love you and then you did this. You broke your promise…”
…wondering how I managed to get my heart broken by, not one, but two men in less than a year...
💥💥The day of reckoning:💥💥 …“I’m so sorry for…for how I shut you out when Teddy died, for snapping at you, for…everything. I need you to know that nothing happened with Chelsea.”… …“I was in a really dark place, blaming myself for Teddy. I was trying to drown that in alcohol, and that night…the night at the bar. I was drinking so much that I put myself in a position that could make you think I was unfaithful—”… …Drinking isn’t a problem for me most of the time, but I should never have put myself in an altered state of mind when I was hurting so much. And I’m seeing a counselor…and journaling.”…
“I know nothing happened with her, Jack. Shayna and Emily have told me everything about what they found out and about Joel setting it up so I would walk in and see. About Chelsea admitting nothing happened.”
“Does…does that mean we can work through this?” he asks, his eyes filled with hope. I don’t say anything for a several seconds. I can’t. God, I want to say yes, we can work on it. That’s what my heart wants but my brain says otherwise. “Annie, baby?” he asks, his voice shaking. “No, Jack. It doesn’t,” I whisper, not able to look him in the eyes, fearing I won’t be able to stick to my plan if I do.
“I can’t, Jack,” I answer, now forcing myself to meet his eyes. “You may not have left me physically, but you left me emotionally. You refused to let me in. You promised me you wouldn’t hurt me, but you did. Maybe it wasn’t intentional, but you made purposeful choices that led up to it, Jack. And just because you feel like you didn’t do it intentionally didn’t make it any less devastating for me. You made me love you, made me give you my heart, and then you…you broke it…you broke me,”…
…Every man she has loved has left her in some way or another. When she was seventeen, she lost her dad—… …Then Jason…fucking Jason. He left her emotionally and then physically, taking her dreams for her wedding and her career with him… …and I fucking left her, too. Maybe it wasn’t forever, but who knows how long I would have kept it up if I hadn’t been woken up from my numbness and my self-inflicted punishment by her leaving town...
❤️She stands her own: She’s blindsided. I mean, I knew it was coming but not like this. If anything, I’d have thought the third act breakup would be caused by outside influences because while they were new and insta, they were a solid enough couple to handle conflict from the outside together. She tries to be there for him but when he’s actions become continuously out of control she steps aside and concentrates on self care.
❤️The redemption: The grovel is done very well. The remorse is genuine. He did everything I need a hero to do to win back his love. He perseveres and never lets up. He honours her request for space but he never stops bettering himself and proving that he is worthy.
❤️The forgiveness and moving forward: Fate intervenes before the heroine can go to him: …Sitting in the ER Trauma Room, I listen to the beeping of the heart monitor and the whooshing of the breathing machine breathe for the man I’ve been too afraid to give another chance. And now…now I’m afraid that chance is gone… ❤️The hero: …“Annie,” he says quietly as he plays with one of my curls, “I hope you know I intend for you to be my forever. I’m so fucking grateful you came back to me and I’m never letting you go again.”…
❤️The epilogue is lovely and welcomed.
🙇♀️Mostly, I loved what the author did with the title, Come Back to Us. It’s what made me look twice at this book in the first place. Kudos to the author for weaving it so seamlessly into the storyline:
1. …“No! Help him, please,” he yells, and starts trying to do CPR on Teddy again. “C’mon, Ted, you have to come back to us. C’mon…please.”
2. …Losing you sent me over the edge. It was my rock bottom and I promise you that I’m going to do everything I can to be a better man and work through this pain and guilt so that, if you can find it in your heart to give us another chance, you won’t regret it. Come back to me, sugar. Please, come back to us.
3. …He can’t talk back to me and can’t hear me because of the sedation he’s on, but I talk to him a little anyway….Jack. I realize that…that I asked you to stay away, but this…this can’t be how our story ends. Please come back to us.”…
❤️Can’t wait to try this author’s other books

🚩The ow who isn’t even an ow except for the part she played in the cheating setup: …”Chelsea has had it bad for Jack for some time. It makes them crazy that he wants nothing to do with her…”
(DNF) This wasn't bad, but the writing style just didn't work for me. In addition to that, something about the heroine just rubbed me the wrong way, which is the main reason I stopped reading in the third chapter. If I don't like the heroine, then I'm not going to connect with the story or enjoy the sex scenes.
loved the story between Jack and Annie! Loved the nurses from ER and the Spice Girls, I feel I'm one of them! Also read it in just one day, it gets you hooked and wanting for more
Read this in a couple hours, whilst our office carpets got cleaned in ED! Absolutely loved it. I mean it’s your semi predictable love story! But it definitely got the tear ducts filling slightly. Break ups, new jobs, crazy busy emergency departments, finding new love and learning to let your guard down a little when the right guy comes along. I’m pretty sure most could relate to this heartfelt story. Especially when it’s basically a play by play of your own life except I hooked a sparky and not a paramedic/firefighter hahaha! Nurses are a great catch, ask my husband!! Can’t wait to read more from Daniels! This book brought sadness, love and laughter a great combination in any book, with a dash of spice! *please note this was an ARC all reviews are my own* .
I loved this book. ❤️ The first half was good, the second half was great! It was nice to be back in Elladine and to finally read how Jack and Annie got together. (I read them out of order) Jack is such a cinnamon roll, and though I often like my guys a little more edgy, I really loved him! 😍🥵
I had a big cry in this book and then a few small ones too. ❤️
Oh, and the spice was good too!
Tropes and stuff: 🐾Instant attraction ❤️(Kind of) workplace romance 🧑🚒Firefighter/paramedic MMC 🏥ER nurse FMC 🌶️Open door spice
I really did enjoy this book. Every emotion was felt at some point during the book. Trigger warning there is a part relating to suicide that caught me a little off guard, but it really brought parts of the book together. The book did hold some strong meanings to life. Also the spicy parts were spicy but overall was a good easy read. Ready to read book two of the series.
This story is about a lot of heart break, second chances and true love. It's my first book by the authors and I loved it the whole way through. All the characters are developed well and the story just flows! Can't wait to see the next book and how great it will be!
Wonderful book. Well put together. Enjoyed every minute and loved the characters. Kept me invested in the book the entire time. Looking forward to More good reads from this author!!

Absolutely loved the career setting of this book as it was also my first time reading about a firefighter MMC (intentionally stayed away because I think I've been traumatized as a kid – someone always dies in those movies). Although this book was a little bit predictable, it was still an emotional rollercoaster with Jack and Annie, from cute and sweet moments to loss and experiencing the stages of grief. Rounding up from a 4.25-4.5 because, at times, the formatting was weird (not much of an actual jump in time and still the same character's POV but there was a break in formatting), which sometimes got annoying because it felt like the book was dragging on.
Come Back to Me (previously titled Come Back to Us), Book 1 of the Elladine Fire series, was about 30-year-old Jack Donley, a lieutenant soon to be promoted to captain at the local fire department, and 27-year-old Annie Brooks, an ER nurse.
After catching her (now ex) fiancé doing the nasty with another woman, Annie called off the wedding and moved two hours away from home, much to her mother's dismay. (Mom believed she was making a mistake, not only in the move but also for not giving her ex another chance.)
This story was a very slow burn. Annie had been working at the new hospital for over two months before she first saw Jack at a local bar. It was another two weeks before they were formally introduced in the ER after he brought a patient into the hospital. Then more weeks passed before they spoke again. A doctor who worked in the ER with Annie (and took an interest in her that wasn't returned) made it his business to "warn" her away from Jack by telling her it wasn't a good person to get involved with. Annie soon became friends with many of Jack's mutual friends and family members, including Teddy and Emily, who were married not long after Annie moved to town.
After several weeks had passed, Jack and Annie went from friends to friends with benefits to being in a relationship. Although Annie was hesitant to trust anyone with her heart again, she told Jack that she was willing to give him a chance. He just had to promise to never hurt her like her ex had done. Not long later, some things came to light that ended in tragedy. This led to Jack pulling away from Annie. He believed what happened was his fault and that it was because he had been spending so much time being too preoccupied with Annie and their relationship. The guilt he felt had him turning to drink to deal with the issues plaguing him. When Annie got a call one night from Jack's brother Ben, it was to inform her that the local bartender at the "watering hole" they frequented had informed him that Jack required her assistance to get home. When she arrived, he was very drunk indeed, but she managed to get him home. This soon became a regular ritual between them that put a strain on their relationship. Jack slowly began ghosting her and pushing her away. He refused to spend any more nights at her place or invite her to do the same at his. He even stopped making visits to the hospital, and he no longer sent her text messages.
When Annie received a text from Joel, one of the doctors she worked with, saying that Jack was at the bar, drunk again, she went to see if she could help. However, this time, he ended up doing the one thing he promised her he wouldn't do...he hurt her. Crushed by what appeared to be his betrayal, Annie walked away, after asking Joel to "get me out of here". Unfortunately, Jack saw her and tried to explain to her that nothing had happened, but he saw Joel waiting for her in his car. He begged her not to go with him, but she told him they were done.
There was a lot of angst and drama in this book, along with the usual emotional rollercoaster filled with twists and turns. The plot twists were interesting and, at times, tear-jerking, so have a box of tissues handy. The push/pull was more of a push than anything, as the MMC struggled with the loss of his friend and then the other things that happened.
Both of the main characters were fully developed and, for the most part, mature. Both had issues that needed dealt with (some were unresolved), but they both had plenty of time to do the necessary growing.
I gave this a three-star rating only because it had more than enough grammatical errors, unresolved issues, and the length was longer than it had to be to cause it to lose two stars. It was interesting enough to cultivate a healthy curiosity, in this reader at least, to find out how the other books in the series each turn out.
Of course, I read the books in the series out of sequence and had no problem getting absorbed by the characters and the storylines. But I was so enthralled by wanting to know the character's story in the next book because I had become so invested in them I didn't want to go back to the beginning. However, going back to the beginning makes me wish I had done so when I received the arc. Jack was finally in a semi-happy place. His friend was getting married and sticking to his program so he was feeling good. Then he sees her. Annie Brooks. She has already met a new friend that she adores and two weeks in she can tell Annie’s a little down.
The new ER nurse, Annie tells her it's the weekend of what would have been her wedding had she not caught her ex cheating. So she invites herself over for TV, junk food, and drinking. This book answers so many questions about Teddy that never made sense. And the references to what happened. I can’t say I blamed Emily for how she handled the situation. Unless you have lived with someone who has mental health issues you can never understand the time and energy it takes to deal with just that.
So for him to add recreational drug use and an affair after she had taken him back from his first affair. But he started it a month after they got married. What had to be the worst part, the woman’s ex had all the confirmation she needed texts, and pictures on her phone. “I’m not wrong. I got a phone call yesterday from a man who said that he needed to meet me to talk about Teddy. It’s pretty bad, Jack.” She delivers that line like I need the warning shot before she goes on. The thing is, Emily knows how bad it can get.
She’s known and loved Teddy almost as long as I have. She’s been there for the ups and downs, and we’ve both been there, trying to help each other hold on when we’ve pulled him from the edge of his various screw-ups in the past. “I met the man at the coffee shop on Main. He… he told me everything,” she says. She’s staring so hard at the floor that she could boreholes in it with her eyes. “I’m sure whatever this guy said, he can’t be right. He’s not wrong, Jack. The woman works in the ER with Teddy. The guy is—or was before this—her boyfriend.
He had proof. Showed me screenshots… Her name is Sadie…” “We can fix this. He wouldn’t do this. Maybe he’s not taking his medications. “No, he hasn’t been taking his meds?” “No, we can’t fix this. I saw the texts. He was promising Sadie he would leave Emily, and that they would be together. It’s been going on for at least a month. So, no. Emily can’t do this again. She loved Teddy. I’ve loved him for ten years. But it was time to love herself more. Loving him was killing her bit by bit.” “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I told him last night I want a divorce. I’ve lost so much for loving him and he couldn’t stop himself from doing this to us. I told him it’s over.” Jack was frantic he needed to find Teddy, last night he didn't pick up his call because he had been talking to Annie. He did try calling him back. He and Annie are trying to forge a relationship. Making him less focused on Teddy. So, whatever goes wrong will be on him at least that’s what he believes. His hero complex would take a beating for sure. Read this book with your eyes wide open because the subject concerns, Teddy.
Annie I really liked right away, she seemed like a strong independent woman right off the bat and I adore strong and independent Fmcs! I don’t know exactly what it was about her but I just really enjoyed her povs!
Jack was as hot as the fires he fights lol. Also his emotional intelligence was 👌🏻👌🏻you could totally tell he was written by a woman, like the journaling? Nothing beats a man who is connected to his feelings and thoughts lol. (Even though he kind of messes this up a little later) I was angry at him when he was being an asshole but he made up, so i forgive him.
We got a lot of time jumps in this, a few weeks here and there. Which isn’t necessarily bad but I don’t think it would have hurt to have had a bit more filler chapters in between instead of all the time jumps🙌🏻 I would also have liked some more chapters that got into their family lives outside of their relationship (we did get some, dont get me wrong, but i would have liked a bit more😊)
Bonus points for both main characters having a dog! (Also the dogposal in the end? Nauseatingly cute!)🐾🐾
I am rating this 3,5⭐️it just feels right. It wasn’t bad at all! but I don’t know, just not quite 4⭐️for me.

An instant three stars for including dogs with the extra two stars for story and character development. What can I say, I’m a sucker for K9 furbabies.
Annie’s conviction and strength towards the end was admirable. I absolutely adored how she took time for herself after everything that went down with her and Jack. Even after allowing herself space, she was steadfast in her decisions and wasn’t quick to give in from a few flimsy and flowery words.
Special props to MVBFF (most valuable bff) Janie for not minimizing Jack’s abhorrent treatment of Annie like how most romance bffs do by saying “he made a mistake” or “you should talk to him” or worst yet, “give him another chance. He loves you so much.” Janie actually took into account how much Annie hurt and gave her the safe space and opportunity to reclaim her peace and quiet enough to make a rational decision.
3.5 ⭐️ There is something about a firefighter and nurse couple that just gets me in my feelings ❤️ I enjoyed this story so much. I laughed. I cried. I screamed. Such a beautiful way of expressing mental health in darkness. Finley showed exactly what happens to some people when life hands so many trials and they blame themself. And the journaling 🤭 There was something sexy about Jack journaling! I also enjoyed the friendship Annie and Janie had. And don’t get me started on how I feel about scummy Joel 😡 It hurt my heart to watch Jack and Annie break up and not communicate what was going on. I am so glad Jack and Annie ended up back together even if I was biting my lip waiting for it to work out. Cannot wait to meet the next couples in this series and probably experience a rollercoaster with each of them ❤️
This was a fun read! I loved the character development and the slow build up to the hot romance. I was turning the pages feeling Annie and Jack’s desire for each other and also the sweetness of their falling in love. Without spoilers, the way the author brings to the realization (ups and downs) of their love is touching. I had tears a couple times (no spoilers).
If you wonder about the spice…. It’s there, yes it is, and very well written. It’s not outlandish but believable (lol).
Great job to the author for her first book, I look forward to the next in the series. She set up several characters who could have fantastic stores just based on how she developed them and their personalities.
Not a bad book but a case of the book doesn't match the blurb. Yhe main description of the book is that h doesn't want to date someone she works with until the H works to change her mind. I expected more of THAT. Maybe a slow burn, friends to lovers kind of thing. But basically she said no thanks, he said yes please and body betraying syndrome for the win.
Why do publishers craft a description for their books and make it sound like the main plot is one way but by 30% in the book they're already past what was supposed to be the main relationship hurdle? I chose this book because I WANTED the will-they-wont-they angsty times.
The start of this book was a touch of a struggle for me. I didn’t feel like the two main characters had a lot of chemistry. Also felt like it was jumping around all over the place with time. It would be like one week later or three weeks later. I wasn’t not a big fan of that. To be honest I thought it was a little boring but then we got to the goods. I did not for see the cheating on the side characters. I mean like I thought it was hinting at it but I didn’t think it would actually go there and then for him to just unalive himself. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I absolutely loved all of that happening because it was out of left field.

I love taking a chance on a new Author! There is something I love about a fireman so the blurb appealed to me.
Annie is a powerhouse, hard working and she doesn't give up or give in. Her chemistry with Jack felt 'real', not overboard. Jack has a hero complex, and it shows with all of his relationships; Tommy, Teddy, Family, Work.
This one got very emotional and addressed some hard truths. Reality is not always pretty, as we seen with Teddy, but it played a major role in the story and helped to explain Jack's reactions. The letters though....
I'm going to send my bill from the psychologist to the author!!!
I cried like a baby reading this book. UGLY CRYING!!! The letters, the journal entries, the grief… I just can’t. The love story was very sweet, and I liked both of the main characters. Annie was a strong, independent woman, and Jack was the sweetest. I loved it! I'll definitely continue reading the other books in the series. I'm so excited!
Lastly, Mrs. Daniels, I will never forgive you for what you did to THAT character. My heart!
Oh, I also loved the ER nurses, the firefighters and The Spicy Girls
A new author for me. Facebook recommend this so I grabbed it. I was happy it started in my hometown of Columbus Ohio and stayed in the Buckeye state. The characters are fun. I am always happy to find a series that incorporates a group and you get to follow stories of "old friends" as back stories in other books. This would be a good beach read and I recommend this book and I have already moved on to her next. Enjoy!!
I absolutely loved every page of this book. It’s as steamy as they come, but what I really loved was how you instantly feel like you know Jack and Anna. I FELL IN LOVE with Jack from the get go. The book also really sensitively looks at mental health in a really authentic way, with a heartfelt storyline on a secondary character. I can’t wait to read book 2.
3.5 🌟. Sweet easy read. There was a small breakup, which I found very annoying. The FMC wasn’t even willing to listen to the MMC. She knew he was going through extremely difficult time and if she would’ve just taken a moment and listened she would’ve realized he did not do what she thought he did. Miscommunication and not listening in a story as one of my biggest pet peeves.

I absolutely loved this book! It gripped my heart and held on the entire time! I loved Annie and Jack so much! This was one of those emotional books that had the tears flowing my had me laughing as well! This was beautifully written and Annie and Jack are one of my favorite couples! I’ll be diving into the rest of the series after enjoying so much of Finley Daniels’ writing!
This is my first read with this author and I have to say, I really enjoyed it. I loved both leads and supports. I know there was tragedy but I do wish there was a little more angst. I felt like there was a big build up and then a misunderstanding happens and it just didn’t feel equal to the build up. However, that’s just my opinion
Cute contemporary romance with overwhelming feelings scattered throughout the book and concentrated pain at the last third of it. Annie and Jack really lovely with a great chemistry and Teddy broke my heart. Jack is the hero, most doted person, and self blaming person. Definitely completing the series
This was a good book with just the perfect amount of heartbreak and groveling. I loved how it started and the sweet relationship between Jack and Annie. It was so sweet from the beginning. What happened broke my heart, and I was crying my eyes out, but it all made me swoon in the end with Jack groveling.
How on earth does this have 4+.stars?? I honestly couldn't wait for it to be over. I was so hoping for a mindless series but I won't be moving on to the next one. So simplistic, spice where it wasn't needed, one-dimensional characters who create problems for themselves, and then it all wraps up in a happy bow. Sigh.
I so loved this book. I can relate to the best friend of Jack named Teddy. The book does touch on mental issues and some of the outcomes that are related. The book has a variety of emotions throughout that makes me want to read this book again.
