Just when you think you have the plot figured out, the author threw a massive and heartbreaking curveball at us readers. 🥲 but in the best way

This was such a good book, it was beautifully written and the mfc was such a bad a** and the four horsemen really got some great character development throughout the whole thing. I loved the whole aspect of everything and the story really came together nicely. There was some great spice as well included

I am blown away by how this story was written! It had me hooked and climbing the walls.
The smut!!!!! The intense scenes!!!! It is now in my top 5 books. I really enjoyed reading it! It does have a lot of dark scenes so read the triggers! But honestly, I loved the whole story line, but the ending.... I wanna know what happens next!! A 5 star read!!!

Masterpiece!
I don't even know where to start! This book has not left my hand since I started it. Reine knows how to play with your emotions with this one and I'm not even mad! I can't wait for the second book I don't want, I need to know what happens!

This was one of my most anticipated reads of the month and did not disappoint at all!
It immediately starts with an emotional run for the FMC. I felt so bad for her especially given her strained relationship with her sister in the beginning when Ember was trying to tell Iris about about their parents. Speaking of Iris, WHERE IS SHE BRO WHAT IS HAPPENING!! I have so many questions!! I love Ember and Vee's friendship. I was genuinely so sad when yk what happened. Ember literally went through sooo much in this book. I loved the guys! Blaze had such a hold on me throughout the story. The spice in this book is 😮💨. I was not expecting so much of it, but I enjoyed it all.
The spice, violence, character development, and highly emotionally intense situations throughout the story made for such an addicting read. I can't wait for more!
Also, "Come give Daddy that hawk tuah." had me dying of laughter 😂

Wow Reine

Alright, before I start with my review I would like to say that I'm going to be a little biased with this book because the author is my best friend, however I promise to give an honest review. With that out of the way.... I loved this so much. While at the beginning it does at times show that this is Reine's debut, she finds her writing style about a third in and the rest of the book flowed.
It was so fun reading this and finally understanding what all the little nuggets I've overheard Reine talk about since she's started writing this.
Now all the things I absolutely loved. My very favorite scene was the wiener roast (when you read the book you'll know what I mean), I was dying while reading that so much so that I had to text Reine like did you really just do that. I also loved how obsessed Onyx was with Ember, that has to be one of my favorite tropes in books so to have Daddy Onyx be that was a real treat. I also loved how each of the guys had a completely different personalities from each other and that they weren't copies of each other. Ember was also a well defined character, she didn't need to be the Don every second but was able to show the more vulnerable sides of herself without it feeling forced. The last very random thing I loved was when Ember called Onyx a White Pebble Pecker, Reine calls her brother that so it made my day when I saw that she put that in there.
My only complaint about this is that at time the book was a little inconsistent at times, mostly with how Aspen felt toward Ember and how it moved from scenes to scene. This I'm going to go with it being Reine's debut and that these thing will get better the more she writes. Also the butler at the end, why Reine why.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and I cannot wait to see what happens with Ember and her horsemen next. (I'm probably going to bug Reine to tell me what happens next cause I can't wait to know).
Also anyone who wants to read this check the list at the front of the book to make sure there isn't any content that you wouldn't be able to read, as much as I would want everyone to read this since my best friend wrote this, I know that to some they wouldn't be able to, so please check that out.

Listen, these characters were so great! The main ones and the side characters as well. I love the relationships that were shown because you could tell how they felt towards each other from the writing.

She is a bad a s s. I absolutely loved her and her attitude. She will get things done her own way and come on top. I loved the realistic relationship between her and her sister as well, because sometimes we just don’t talk to our siblings. Her best friend is a ride or die (literally). She has so much heart as well for those around her that she cares about.
💚Onyx💚
He’s hilarious 😂 he’s just a goofball. I highlighted a good amount of his quotes. He wears his feelings on his sleeves and there’s no denying it. He is obsessive over Ember and will stop at nothing to have her.
❤️Blaze❤️
This man 🥵 I don’t normally pick a favorite in why choose, but he is slightly my favorite. I think it’s because of how dominate and protective he is over Ember. And he is a *bit* more serious than Onyx.
💙Ezra💙
His relationship with his “twin,” Aspen, is hot. I feel his character got lumped with Aspen a lot and I would love to see more individual personalities evolve in the next installment!
💛Aspen💛
Aspen, Aspen, Aspen. He’s also tied with first, because he is gentle, confident, and still dominate in his own way. Again, I’d like to see more personality with the other installments!

Reine did a great job with this novel and you can tell how much thought went into everything between the description and the lore. My only criticism would be the dialogue, as the characters kind of all talked the same, instead of having their own personalities completely. And again, I feel that will only get better with more writing and the next books!

Can I just say, it’s been a while since I’ve read a book with equal parts smut to storyline ratio.
It has also been a while since I have highlighted so many spots in a book and made comments.
Onxy’s inner monologue had me ☠️ laughing! That demon is a mess lol he’s also fineeeeeeee🫠😮💨😮💨. I love how he’s just non chalantly stalking Ember and sees nothing wrong with it lol. Blaze seems like the bada$$ logical one of the group who is super 🥵. Ezra and Aspen come as a pair and that’s one heck of a pair😲🫠.
Ember is one tough cookie who is a complete spitfire and BAMF. She is unapologetically herself, flaws and all.
Ember is just a small girl in a mafia world who happens to have a certain hobby, that she and her four horsemen share, just trying to make it out alive after all of the tragic things that have happened all at once too her. She has her men…or so they say…there to help protect her, even if she doesn’t need the protection.
I love that they all gave her a spicy little (pun intended) nickname and she gave all of them one. I mean who doesn’t want a daddy, a king, a knight, and a master?
The cliffhanger I was left on had me 🤬! I was like no that can’t be it?! Wait a minute! WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN? Don’t leave me like this! 😩😂

This book was a solid 4.5 stars and honestly, I ate this story up! This book was really great and I loved how fast-paced the story was.
It is hard to choose a favorite character from this group, as I loved all of them! I really loved how strong Ember was, even though she faced so many heartbreaking moments. I believe that the horsemen being there for her really helped her to cope…. among other things *wink wink* Ember was also a perfect character and the banter between her and the horsemen and amazingly done.
I loved the story and the plot, but that ending! The storytelling was immersive and I felt like I was in the world, yet I had definitely lost track of time on more than one occasion while reading this today.
I read this in a day, I couldn’t put it down! The spice was spicing hard and the nicknames….OMGOSH! I loved everything about the why choose romance dynamic and I loved how they all cared about Ember so much! I wanted to fight for her without being controlling.
Great book for spice, mystery, and fantasy mixed in with mafia and the real world. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

The Four Horesman and their Queen of Death
This book hits the ground running and puts you in a chock hold. With every passing day things get crazier but the Queen of Death will not falter especially with the Four Horseman by her side.
I flew through this book and loved it so much. I love all the different quirks to each of the men as well as our leading lady and her friends. The characters are brilliantly thought out and make you want to get to know them. I am blown away by the fact that this is her debut novel.
Whatever you do listen to Hold On by Chord Overstreet when you read chapter 30. This song fits the chapter so well and had me crying through it. The whole playlist has amazing songs but this one fits the vibe to perfection.
I can not wait to see what is to come next in this series.

So delicious, I am almost lost for words. If I could read this again for the first time I would, over and over.
This starts out with “ to all the book girlies who fold faster than a cheap lawn chair when daddy speaks” excuse me while I melt into a puddle.
The way this book highlights a praise kink is 😩, okay melting and drooling aside. The four horseman, Onyx, Blaze, Aspen,Ezra are mixture of lethal and dominant men.
The story kept me engaged and wanting to know what happens next. I like that Ember is a bad ass, who can take care of herself because who doesn’t love a take no shit main female character.
The first Seal will leave you wanting to throw things and wanting more. Happy reading!

WTH!!!! I absolutely loved and devoured this book! Reine did an amazing job with her debut book! I was hooked and that ending had me trying to swipe and read more! Four hot tattooed and pierced 🍆 that will definitely have you 💦 and wanting more. Now to impatiently await book 2!!!

I wanted to like this so freaking bad. The overall premise for this debut has so much promise, with it's mix of Mafia and supernatural. I was so excited to read this, and sadly was underwhelmed.
Ember is the mfc, with a sharp tongue and quick temper, she mostly comes off as erratic. When her parents are killed, she's forced to take on her father's Mafia empire. Enter the four mmcs.
Onyx, because we get his pov the most, feels the most fleshed out. He's possessive, flirty and has been obsessed with Ember for years. But still has a thing with someone else?
We do still get the povs of Blaze, Aspen and Ezera but Onyx is definitely at the front. Unfortunately they do come off as being more like frat boys than all mighty demons. I do wish we got more depth from them, especially when it comes to the demonic aspects.
The spicy bits seem to be in as filler rather than something that helps further the relationships and at times feels unnecessary.
The plot is a little all over the place and at times hard to follow with time jumps and what feels like missing segments, we get more questions then answers. The cliff hanger is tempting to keep up with the series but in the end this one wasn't my cup of tea.

Holy Moly
Okay, just wow! I was not expecting that cliffhanger. I am speechless. This book just kept getting better and better as I read it. Such a great start for a new author. Also please read the triggers and be mindful of what you can handle.
Ember has been training to take over as Don for her father for awhile now so when she gets horrible news about her parents, she is prepared to take over. There are some stipulations though and if she doesn't follow, Orlov will become the Don. Orlov has been wanting this for a long time but Ember will do anything to keep this from happening.
Now to the Four Horsemen. Onyx, Blaze, Aspen, and Ezra have been looking after Ember as her bodyguards for a long time. As she got older, Onyx was doing more in hiding as he was kinda stalking her. When they come to her after her horrible news, they vow to protect her but the guys are hiding things about themselves. Each one has a strong connection to her and was here for all of it. Can't wait for the next book because that was brutal!

There are some stipulations though and if she doesn't follow, Orlov will become the Don. Orlov has been wanting this for a long time but Ember will do anything to keep this from happening.
Now to the Four Horsemen. Onyx, Blaze, Aspen, and Ezra have been looking after Ember as her bodyguards for a long time. As she got older, Onyx was doing more in hiding as he was kinda stalking her. When they come to her after her horrible news, they vow to protect her but the guys are hiding things about themselves. Each one has a strong connection to her and was here for all of it. Can't wait for the next book because that was brutal!

This was my first 4 horsemen book and I ate it up!! It’s a quick read with plenty of spice and romance between the 5 characters. Many open door scenes between Ember and 1 guy, 2 guys, or all 4 guys. With that being said, TFS is a why choose, “forbidden” romance with a blend of comedy and darkness and I LOVED getting a piece of all of the MMC’s POV alongside Ember’s.
I do think some parts were a bit rushed and could have been slowed to give the reader more insight into some of the conflicts going on, but overall I truly enjoyed The First Seal. The MMC’s are sassy and possessive and had me giggling at the things they would say/do which I think makes this book soooo good! The characters aren’t one sided and are complex and though we are left on a cliffhanger, I felt like I did get to know more and more about each character throughout each chapter.
If you like dark steamy romances with demons disguised as humans I 100% recommend you give Reine Ruin a chance and read The First Seal!

The Four Horseman and the new Mafia Don. Demons and a mortal. I love a good demon story. The story had promise. I couldn't connect with the FMC. Her attitude and behavior were just a little over the top for me. I mean, I appreciate a fierce, independent woman, but this felt a little too "in your face" about power and titles. The spice was good and often. The book was definitely more spice than plot. There were so many pet names. Unfortunately, I didn't feel a connection made between the FMC and the MMCs. Maybe it happens more in the next book. The book had some random contradictions that had me going back a couple of times. For example, the characters having a conversation about what they were going to do that day, and then it not happening, but then the same conversation happening the next day and then it actually happening. It's things like that that just made it hard to get into the book.

This story was interesting but I found it lacking, I loved the character but I felt like there were parts missing/could have been more added in.
The FMC is the new don of her mafia family after her parts are in an accident, she has to come to terms with her new position rather quickly but she tackles a few obstacles in the process. The horsemen are there to help her in any way she needs but they are hiding a secret of their own. One that rocks the relationship they have with the FMC. The FMC seems like a badass but also doesn't seem that focused when her sister is kidnapped. She seems too distracted by the men in her life than actually finding out what happened to her sister.
The best part of this story had to be the ending! I am curious to see what the next installment has to offer and hopefully there is more to the storyline.

great debut!
I don’t even know where to begin. I finished reading this, put my iPad down and contemplated life for a solid 30 minutes. There are so many questions I have and the cliffy that this book left me did not help. At all. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next story. For a debut novel, it’s got me so excited to see what comes next for. The banter in this book between ember and some of the guys had me laughing. The spice between them doesn’t matter if it’s group time or individual time, it is just all very delicious. I’m genuinely excited to read more about the growth of the relationships between the mcs. Plus I’m curious to see more of what Ember does in her roll as Don. Their story has only just begun and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them.

This book was a roller coaster of emotions!
Oh how I love Onyx, I will forever have him on my book boyfriend list.
The level of unhinged characters and smut in this book kept me reading until the wee hours of the night. I honestly wasn't expecting that ending and it threw me into a huge book hangover that will take weeks for me to recover from.
I absolutely recommend this book for anyone who loves mafia, demons, and a literal cubic f*ck ton of smut. There is basically every kink I can think of in this book and it makes the Little Deity inside me simp for more.
