A vampire and a werewolf chosen by Fate. A prophecy that's been hidden for centuries. And the question of who's friend or foe.
Nykole Things between Mykal and I are heating up. We are closer than we have ever been before. Or at least, I thought we were. Everything begins to blur as we continue to navigate through Prodigium Academy and other students begin to notice how close a vampire and werewolf have become. Not to mention how much Coach Gunner, our Combats Training instructor and Mykal's uncle seems to hate me. And to top it all off, the Demon King is gunning for my ass in my dreams. Everything I thought to be true is a lie. People from both my and Mykal's past have come to test our resolve.
Mykal I have found my luna wolf. She is my everything. And yet, everything seems to be crumbling apart around her. I struggle to figure out how to help her. How to protect her. I question whether my Pack will accept her. My own uncle schemes against her. Against us.
As a librarian by day and writer by night, Blood and Ember is Jae Nikki’s first self-published series. She lives in North Carolina with her chaotic gremlin dog, who she adores. In her spare time, she’s usually caught reading her romantasy and smutty books while simultaneously buying more books than actually reading them, binge watching some cheesy show, spending time with her fur baby, and pretending she’s a faerie or vampire.
Right off the bat the book picks up from the ending of the first. When the chain of events gets started it keep going. The supporting cast of characters shine more and have moments where they show off their talents. And the side characters manage to leave lasting impressions with their limited screen time.
It does end on a cliffhanger it does leave you wanting to know what the fallout will be...

And....now we wait for book three! A cliff hanger - just be prepared. This may have been better than book 1, which is always a plus when a series doesn't just fall off after book one. I am excited to continue this series.
Now that they have accepted the mate bond, Nykole and Mykal can move forward and be the power they need to be. The prophecy is crazy and the fact that it involved all of them??? Wild.
And then he gets TAKEN???? I’m sorry, unleash that wrath baby.

I started with book one, and this is book 2. The author did not let me down. It was a very good read. It was a definite page. Turner wonderful world building, great characters and a terrific storyline. I would highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the next.
