Savage Keepsakes

Rate this book
I’m not a good man. Never cared to be one.

My existence is only darkness and death. The world thinks I shouldn’t be this way, but I am who I am. Turning animals & humans into art is all I’ve ever known. Sending keepsakes of my victims ignites a fire within me, knowing I’m hurting families fuels my passion to continue.

I’ve never wanted to be anyone’s hero until Lucy. Being in the shadows of her life could never be enough. The pure love that pours from her is something I couldn’t have prepared myself for.

She’s mine and always will be, even if she doesn’t know it yet.

Firstly, I’d recommend this book just for the twist at the end. That had my jaw on the floor and I did NOT see that coming.

Now for my full review. I’ll start with what I liked.

I really liked and enjoyed Billy’s “projects” and how the author gave us full details with all of the gory bits. A lot of “dark” authors skimp out on this, but York did not and I appreciate that so much. It made the story and the things he did that much more horrific and gripping. If you’re looking for some horror and gore, you’re in the right place.

I also really enjoyed Billy and Lucy’s relationship and how good they were for each other. It was sweet and I was happy to see Lucy being treated so well, despite Billy’s dark secrets. Billy would do anything for Lucy, and that’s made very clear in this book. There’s no boundaries for him at all.

As mentioned above: the TWIST. Loved it!

Now for what I didn’t like or enjoy as much.

The smut. It was just very bare bones and lackluster. Where the author is decently descriptive with the gore scenes, she isn’t for the spicy scenes. And there’s a lot of them, and they’re just very boring. So if you’re going into this book hoping for some serious filth, you won’t find it here.

The execution of the story is choppy in some places. There were a lot of slow moments in the middle and it made the book drag some. The author will probably iron out her writing style and execution over time, it takes experience but just understand that this isn’t going to be a super smooth read.

Overall, I had a fun time with this book and I’m excited to see what the author will bring us next! I see a lot of potential in York’s storytelling and how she creates her characters.

DO NOT EAT WHILE READING THIS BOOK...as well as others have mentioned read the trigger warnings!

I had the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. I was immediately sucked in and really like the authors writing and I kept wanting to know what was going to happen in the next chapter.

An aspect I loved about the book was like this meme I saw of if a serial killer and an author date and the author asking the serial killer how would the killing of this or that work.

I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, the only reason for 4 stars is I felt like the ending was rushed and that there was some questions left unanswered. Interesting twist at the end of the book though. Overall I would recommend this book to anyone who loves dark reads and has a strong stomach.

Tee! Hee! Literally straightaway we get our first insight into Billy and his pursuits, let’s just say Marla is quite descriptive in her explanation of what transpires in the back of his taxidermy shop.

Lucy comes to terms with her parents death, moves into a new house with her waste of space boyfriend, realising she made a mistake, wants him to move out as he’s cheating on her. He does, though soon he’s nothing more to her than a haunting in her house; things moving and some deliveries that she really doesn’t want or need 🤭 She fears she has a stalker and with the keepsake killer being prevalent in their area she has every right to be cautious.

We progress on with Billy’s exploits, very descriptive exploits might I add. He enters Lucy’s life again, from here their relationship builds into a deep love, she has no idea of his extra curricular activities nor the fact when she tells him he can use her barn for his business, what actually happens there.

Their love story is forced to an end by his mistake, heartbroken Lucy tries to re-build her life but even this has consequences. That ending though 🤯

I can’t give you more without spoilers and I certainly don’t wish to do that to this story. I was so engrossed in it, all the descriptive details and writing for me were brilliant. I know it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine, for me it was a fantastic read.

So I really wanted to love this, and I did love the storyline and concept. The gore was fantastic, and Billy and Lucy were such great characters.
I really loved how the character with my name, Char, died as well. Recommend if you just want good serial killer gore and some romance.

- Some timeline spoilers if you want to avoid those

Now typically, as long as I'm vibing with the story, I can ignore any other problems with the book, but this was unfortunate a miss because I kept getting dragged out of the story by incomplete scene changes and there were a few inconsistencies that my brain struggled with - the ex suddenly deciding to move out the same day she finally called the correct number for our MMC, was a big one for me. Then the time jump at the end between chapters 29 and 30 has a big story change with no explanation that really thru me off. It was like the author had the HEA written but didn't want it to end with a HEA, and so time jumped to a non-happy ending. I really enjoyed that non-happy ending, but it felt disjointed a bit with the way chapter 29 ended and no explanation for how we got to the non-HEA

This was definitely dark, and I loved it. In a weird way, I found the relationship kind of cute. Like sure, he kills people, but he uses their fat to make her soaps. And sure, he tortures people, but it's research for her books. Do we all wish someone loved us so deeply?

Savage keepsakes is a fairly chunky read, but it goes by so quickly. For me personally, I was drawn into the story and simply lost track of time. I loved the concept it was something different, and I really wanted to see if our odd couple would beat the odds.

I definitely recommend this book and can't wait to get myself another one from York. Please be mindful of all the triggers though before starting this one.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Their isn't much I can say that wouldn't be a spoiler. Marla definitely takes you on a journey of Omfg! I loved that the main character was a normal, real life sized woman. I loved that in a twisted way it was a love story, but Marla literally Omfg your brain. You took me somewhere I had never been, but I'd definitely go there again!

Definitely check the TW! We immediately dive into Billy’s extracurricular activities and the author doesn’t slack on the details. Honestly has me wondering if she conducted her own “research” for book writing purposes 👀

I was captivated from the start, but it was a bit slow for me. I also wish we got more of a backstory story for Billy. Once the authorities got involved though, I really couldn’t put it down. I HAD to know what was next and if things would be okay. And the twist at the end?! 😳 I NEVER saw that coming!

This was read as an ARC and I definitely would’ve read it if I had stumbled upon it after its release. I’m excited to see Marla York grow and will definitely be checking out any further books put out!

I don’t know where to start…
My brain is still trying to recover from this ending🤯

This was wild.
I really enjoyed how in depth the taxidermist parts where discussed.
This book definitely has a lot of gore so be aware of that and definitely check your triggers.

Overall I enjoyed the story a lot. It was interesting and and had an original plot.
It did lack some flow, though it didn’t bother me as much or deter from the story.
I could also have done with a little bit more in depth for the relationship. Some more insight on the past and the start of the relationship.

I would recommend this book just for the ending alone and if you like the read for shocking effects this is definitely for you.
An disturbing sick entertaining read with a little room for improvement.

Rating: 3.5/5

Spice: 5/5

Plot: 4/5

Primary Genre: Horror Romance

Trigger Warnings: See author website

Favorite Quote: “We’re not incomplete individuals searching for our other halves. We’re complete entities seeking the wild souls that resonate with ours”

Blurb: I’m not a good man.

The Good:

* I’ve never read a horror romance so this book was me dipping my toe in the water. I didn’t totally dislike it and if you like horror movies in the vein of Saw this will probably be great for you. While there’s tons of twisted stuff happening, there’s also tons of spice happening and some of that is twisted too. If you don’t think that’s something you can stomach, please check the author’s site for trigger warnings before picking this book up.

* There’s no happily ever after here but I don’t think a HEA would fit into this story. I absolutely loved the ending, it actually surprised me. I didn’t see it playing out in the way that it did but the ending wrapped everything up with a neat bow (and it’s probably made of human flesh).

* While the storyline is pretty demented, it couldn’t tear myself away from it. Maybe that says something about my personality.😅 Obviously the serial killer love story has been done before but this story felt completely original to me. It’s certainly unlike anything that I’ve read thus far and not in a bad way. I found it to be incredibly interesting. There’s also a ton of revenge in this book and if you’ve read previous reviews of mine, you know I love to see it.

* I think it’s absolutely bonkers that the author managed to have me liking the MMC Billy in this book. FMC Lucy, if not likable, is incredibly relatable. She deals with a lot of body image and self worth issues in this book. The characters are well written.

The Meh:

* I don’t know that I’ve ever said this about the book but I felt like some of the spice scenes could have been cut out. The storyline was so interesting to me (I watch too much Criminal Minds and Forensic Files) that I started to get annoyed with the smut towards the end of the book.

Bottom Line:

If you like a gory, smutty, serial killer love story, this is up your alley. It’s well written, fascinating, and marvelously demented.

*Do yourself a huge favor and check trigger warnings before reading, this is not for the faint of heart!*

This was absolutely unhinged. I read an advance copy and the author very clearly told us that this was not a romance and that there is no HEA. She was not lying, but I think I still forgot at one point because parts do read like a love story. A twisted, demented, sort of taboo one, but a love story nonetheless.

Lucy has had some s#!t luck in her life: crappy parents, growing up neglected, and currently treated poorly (and unsatisfied) by her boyfriend, Miles.

Billy is older and obsessed with Lucy. At one point he was sort of family — in a relationship with Lucy’s aunt— but not any longer. Billy has Lucy in his sights and unleashes all sorts of stalkery tendencies trying to get what he wants. Also, he’s a serial killer.

I’m borderline worried about what my high enjoyment of this book says about me, but this was wicked fun to read. Kind of gross in some parts, wildly unbelievable in others, but oh my gosh so unhinged in the most fun of ways! It made me think of that meme where an author and serial killer are in a relationship and the killer helps his partner by testing out the author’s theories to see if the murdery ideas would work. Lucy and Billy are definitely damaged from their treatment earlier on in life, but they’re well suited to one another and complement each other’s depraved tendencies quite well. Not gonna lie, I had to reread the ending because I couldn’t believe what I read. I gasped quite loudly. That’s when I was reminded of the author’s warning.

You have to read this for yourself. When you do, I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

Pitch black and gory, with a completely unhinged MMC, and a twisted love story. This is packed full of triggers and was a crazy journey of death and devastation. Billy is a serial killer stalker with creative hobbies and a deep obsession with Lou.
I loved that the FMC was an aspiring author and that Billy generously completed research to help her out, little does Lucy know that he's savagely torturing his victims to test out her twisted fictional theories as he's hopelessly dedicated to her, and twisted as fuck.
They are definitely a chaotic pair that enjoy violence and depravity, and there is a lot of intense spice.
This has very vivid descriptions of torture, cannibalism and body disposal, and some creatively disturbing gift ideas.
Definitely a dark but thrilling read, and the ending was a shock!

The ending absolutely sent me. I had to reread the entire thing twice to make sure I read it right 😂 the twist!! Didn’t see it coming at all!!!!
This book had my emotions up and down.
I was like ehhhh he’s not a good guy. But like he’s so sweet. But also wtf is he doing… but also omg 🥹 he is so sweet to her.
“You’re the prize I’ve spent my entire life trying to win.”
This book is a rollercoaster.

This book was !n$@ne! It was a wild ride that’s for sure! The ending 🤯🤯 Marla that ending got me!

Lucy is trying to build her life after a tr@umatic childhood. Sleezy boyfriend who ch3@ts, moving into a run down house that needs lots of TLC. When she calls her stepuncle to help her out.

Billy has had a tr@umatic childhood has well that leaves him with doing some pretty d@rk things. He is a s3ri@l un@liver, called the Keepsake k!ll3r. When mistakes are made and he needs to go into hiding.

This book will take you on a rollarcoster this is d@rk and definitely has a unique ending! Did not see it coming what so ever!!!

Undying Love

5⭐️/5🔥

Wow! I'm speechless. I went through this wild ride and ended up with my jaw on the floor. Wow. It's all I have right now.

Billy is our MMC who has a dark hobby and a strong love for our FMC. Lucy is our FMC who needs a man who knows how to love and respect her after the life she has lived through. We like her and Billy together. This begs the question: WHAT HAPPENED?! WHY?!

I'm sure once I pick my jaw up off the floor, my brain will resume normal functions and I'll understand why this author did this to me. 😏

good

Ok so it’s detailed in the gore part. Well thought out and researched. I looovvveeedddd the couple and then we get to the end and I know what the author was trying to do but where pull that out of? Just shock value? Without a why? Or background? That kinda killed it for me some. I’m cool w the ending but I need to know the how of it. That would have been cool. Otherwise it was good and the steam was hot!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Well I knew I was fucked up but this just confirms it all. I should not have laughed or smiled reading this one as much as I did, cause there is some fucked up shit in this book and I mean fucked up. I loved the characters and their journey through the book and all the tension between them. You can see all the obsessive behaviour of Billy but it still has that control, that has you guessing (if that makes sense🙈). Lucy represents a lot of women (and men) that go through a lot of shit and insecurities and just how being shown the right love and care that you deserve can go a long way. As always I loved the writing and how well it all flowed. Please check the trigger warnings before going into this one.

Savage Keepsake
By Marla York

4.5 ⭐ 4🌶️

Tropes:
- Obsession/Stalker
- Age gap .
- Step-Uncle
- Touch her &
- Serial deleter/Author relationship
- Plus size FMC
- No HEA

Main Characters:
Billy & Lucy (Lou/Darlin)

Stand out lines/quotes:

My Thoughts:
This book was genuinely disturbing however as I am someone who loves this kind of book it was actually kind of perfect for me. Some of the verbiage I wasn’t a huge fan of but looking beyond that I had a ton of fun reading this. It was twisted, gorey and dark and I loved just about every second of it. That ending (the first epilogue) was something I was totally not expecting and left me completely slack jawed. When Marla said there was no HEA that was so no what I was thinking was going to happen.

This is a trigger warning HEAVY book! It was the darkest dark romance I've ever read, the author said it's not a love story and there's no HEA, but I forgot sometimes because of how funny and cute the love story got there in the middle. Rebuilding after parents death and then a terrible breakup, Lucy an EMT and a dark romance author finds love in an unexpected place with Billy her ex-step-uncle, a taxidermist and serial killer. Their love goes from stalker to lover quick, pretty fast paced story. The leather goods and crafts are a fun unexpected favorite of mine lol. The gore scenes were very descriptive but the spicy scenes were not as descriptive as I like. The ending was so unexpected and unhinged, I will never recover from the ending.

The story had potential but it was too repetitive imo the same things was going on and it wasn’t moving in any direction it was flat until the last 2 chapters of the book when someone new and interesting was coming along

I did ended up skimming the last 30% of the book

It’s annoying because half of the time the writing was great but there’s a few moments here and there when the writing was flat and just seem like a completely different person was writing it

The killings was also very repetitive it was the same things over and over and not just that they didn’t feel “real” the victims was written too calm imo for what was happening to them- it didn’t seem believable more like they was having a afternoon tea with him instead of being skimmed alive

I loved Lucy character I feel she was written quite good
but with Billy’s character it was again 50/50 when he was with Lucy he’s was written decent- he was a cutie for helping out with her research
but when he’s interacting with his victims his character was flat and the writing wasn’t there

I did enjoy the ending (I know sicko) 🤣

- like I said I did enjoy parts of the book and I would read more from the author

Thank you for the arc though I do appreciate it ⭐️

🌹🖤 When horror meets love, and love meets...well, taxidermy! 🖤🌹

Let me just start with this: DO. NOT. EAT. WHILE READING. THIS. BOOK. 🍽🚫 Seriously, folks—grab your snacks after you’ve finished the last page. And please, please heed those trigger warnings. They’re there for a reason. This book is not for the faint of heart, and it’ll have you side-eyeing your loved ones for days. 😳💀

Billy is...how do I put this? A walking red flag dipped in jet-black paint and sprinkled with razor blades. ⚠️🖤 But oh, is he mesmerizing. His darkness isn’t just edgy—it’s downright horrifying, and yet, Savage Keepsakes manages to weave a thread of vulnerability in him that leaves you aching for more. And Lucy? She’s the light he doesn’t deserve but craves with every fiber of his twisted soul. Together, their connection is a wild, morally dubious dance of obsession and forbidden love. 💃🏽🖤🕺🏽

Their story feels like watching a train wreck in slow motion while your heart breaks for the passengers. You want to look away, but you just can’t. 😭🔥

A Love Story on Steroids (and Nightmares) -- The story starts dark—Billy’s "artistic process" of turning living beings into...keepsakes. (Yes, it’s as disturbing as it sounds.) 🪡😱 You’ll laugh nervously, clutch your pearls, and maybe even question your mental health for enjoying the ride. But then comes Lucy, and everything shifts. Suddenly, it’s not just about the macabre—there’s hope, longing, and a twisted kind of redemption.

Savage Keepsakes cranks up the horror and romance dial so much you’re left thinking, "Okay, surely it can’t get worse (or better?),” only to be proven DEAD wrong. ☠️ The intensity just doesn’t let up, and by the time you hit that jaw-dropping ending, you’re left in pieces. (No pun intended...or maybe just a little. 🫣). BTW just get prepared for the epilogue .... BLINDSIDED had to read it twice to make sure I digested what I read !!!

Dark, over-the-top romance that makes you question your moral compass. 🖤🌹
Touch her and die vibes but with a serial-killer twist. 😈💔
Ending twists that will leave you staring at the wall, whispering, "No way..." 🤯

You’ll hate it if you:
--Have a weak stomach. (Seriously, taxidermy isn’t just for animals here, folks. 😳🪦)
--Can’t handle graphic depictions of violence or questionable relationships.

Marla York is a one-of-a-kind horror romance rollercoaster. It’s wicked, wild, and weirdly beautiful in its unapologetic darkness. Billy’s obsession with Lucy will both terrify and move you, while the story’s sheer audacity will leave you breathless.

Definitely read the trigger warnings with this one!

I still can’t believe I was a character in this book. I never knew I would be excited to be unalived! 😆 I loved the fact that my character was the one who fought back with attitude and impressed the serial unaliver because I would go out like that. 🤣

Let me start by saying this is the most fxcked up book I’ve ever read so far. 😂 It was hard to stomach some of the gruesome scenes but at the same time I loved it. Definitely won’t be looking at organic bar soap the same for sure. It’s definitely a if you don’t like them I’ll unalive them book but also I’m gonna do it anyway cuz touch her and 💀Minus the unaliver parts, the spice was really good. The dildo part? 🥵 I did think that since the book was so dark that the smut would have been a tiny bit darker. There is one smut part that was dark and had me like wow that’s super questionable but for the people who love the darkest of the dark will love it. His obsession was so real with her and I didn’t think he could be this unhinged. I did find it crazy that she was still in love with him knowing what he was. Especially since she’s an emt. There were a couple cute things like how he cooked for her, how she dyed his hair and he let her pick the color and how he loved her so deeply through her trauma. There were so many ways I thought this book was going but boy I was not prepared for this ending. I usually can predict a book and I was not expecting this end at all! That plot twist was insane and very well done. As much as I didn’t expect the ending and loved the twist, I did feel it was a bit rushed and wanted more depth to it. Overall a book that will be ingrained in my mind forever.

Favorite quotes:

“The beautiful soul wrapped in trauma is the woman I want to stand beside me. She’s burrowed into my mind. I’ll do whatever I can to soothe her scars and show her what happiness is.”

“Get on your knees”

“It’s disturbing to realize that someone who finds pleasure in hurting others is also the person who has shown me the most love.”

“Now, show me who I belong to.”

“Just because some people have had worse, doesn’t make your experience less valid.”

“Such a good cum slut. You love choking on my cock, don’t you?”

“Trauma rolls through generations until someone’s strong enough to end it.”

This book takes you on a crazy journey and it will keep you on your toes until the very last page. Because the ending of this book was absolutely not what I expected. Sure at the beginning of the book you get warned that the story doesn’t have a HEA but this ending, no I really didn’t see that coming.

Before starting this book you definitely need to check the trigger warnings. At the beginning of the story we go straight into the not so normal activities Billy does and the author describes everything in great detail. I really enjoyed the way the author describes in detail parts about taxidermy. This is Billy’s day job and his other thing is making organic soap and all kind of stuff from leather. Yet it’s not what it looks like because Billy is a serial killer who picks up innocent women that he meets by acting like their Uber driver. The way he kills all these women is disturbing and disgusting at some points because of the way the author describes all of this in great detail. It’s also amazing to get an understanding about the way Billy thinks when he is performing in his element. This story was really interesting and it had awesome plot twists at the ending.

Billy’s existence is only darkness and death. Turning animals and humans into art is all he has ever known. Sending keepsakes of his victims ignites a fire in him, knowing he is hurting families fuels his passion to continue. He never wanted to be anyone’s hero until Lucy. The pure love that pours from her is something he couldn’t have ever prepared himself for.

I really enjoyed their relationship and how good they were for each other. It was really great to see Lucy happy and being treated well despite Billy’s dark secrets. Billy would do absolutely anything for her and that is made very clear in the story. He really has no boundaries when it comes to her. Their relationship is forced to an end by one stupid mistake from Billy, heartbroken Lucy tries to rebuild her life but she finds out that living without him comes with consequences.

This was another book that makes me question what is wrong with me because I really couldn’t put it down. This is not a lighthearted, sweet romance between two people that is all smiles and laughter. This is not even like most of the dark romances I have read where there are trigger warnings and some crazy stuff happens but nothing too extreme. This book is extreme. It is not for someone with a weak stomach and not for someone who is looking for that “good” serial unaliver. But even in the darkest parts of this book, I could not stop reading. I needed to know what happened next. I needed to see how everything played out. I am someone who grew up watching horror movies and has never shied away from the gory stories. This is definitely one of the darkest stories I have read that gripped me until the very end.

The MCs in this book were so different. The FMC, Lucy, starts the book broken. She had a horrible childhood with parents who beat her down and broke her spirit. She is stuck in a miserable relationship and even when she tries to break free, she can’t. She just needs one good person in her life other than her best friend. Unfortunately, she doesn’t get a good person. But she does get Billy, a man that was married to her step-aunt, who comes to her rescue. Her sees the beauty inside her. She is a curvy woman that was emotionally abused by everyone but Billy. He wants to be her one and only. He runs a taxidermy business and does “arts and crafts” on the side. He has an extreme darkness that he hides from the world.

My brain has not recovered from this book. The unaliving scenes go into as much, if not more, than the spicy scenes. But don’t worry. The spicy scenes are wonderful. I love a man that appreciates the body of a curvy lady. This book absolutely sucked me in. But I literally read the ending multiple times because I am still trying to wrap my brain around it. This book won’t be for everyone. But if you read the warnings and they don’t chase you away, this is worth the read.

Her touch soothes a hidden part of my mind that I never knew was there, and because of that, I will never let her go.

Savage Keepsakes is a tale of dark romance and madness. It shows the life of depraved and unhinged serial unaliver and the woman he claims as his. This book is not for the faint of heart, or those with a weak stomach. But if you want a dark read with a shocking ending, consider reading this.

Billy is a taxidermist who partakes in some immoral activities behind the scenes. Billy was really fun to read about. This dude was so unhinged. Lucy is a paramedic and aspiring author. I couldn't help feel bad for Lucy. She needed more kindness in her life. Fortunately or unfortunately, she found love with Billy.

It was a spicy romance, yet it was surprisingly sweet. Billy and Lucy really seemed to be each other’s solace in the world. Lucy found someone that lifted her up instead of tearing her down. And Billy found someone who brought some light into his life.

This book is pretty messed up, but I really enjoyed it. The author put a lot of thought and research into what Billy did. I was impressed, and maybe a bit scared. 😆The ending surprised me. Reading this was a wild ride. My only complaint is I wished there was some more details about the lives of the characters.

This was an ARC read and review. I'm grateful to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This book was seriously amazing. All the dark vibes were met in this one. And wow I didn’t expect to be gagging at points but that definitely happened too! This is one of those books before I full tell you how I felt please check the trigger warnings cause you will need to with this! This book is wildly detailed which I loved! Definitely made some of those scenes push you but that’s why I’m reading these books. Billy definitely made me speechless and Lucy I really did enjoy her as our FMC. Lucy has a stalker and she’s getting freaked because the keepsake killer is a problem where she lives right now. With things being delivered and left around notes for her to find she’s spooked. That ending ummm wow was not expecting or ready for that.

Overall this book was amazing and you all need to add it to your tbr if you love a DARK book!

🔳 read the content/trigger warnings and take them VERY seriously 🔳

This is VERY dark and descriptive at points.

Lucy is so relatable. She has self esteem
Issues, rotten childhood and a shitty boyfriend. Being stuck in a relationship just to be in one, or because it’s comfortable.
Has always had a crush on Billy. He’s always treated her like she’s precious. She is smart, empathetic and caring to a fault. She stayed with her boyfriend Miles even though she knew it was toxic, but he depended on her, so she stayed.

Billy, he’s an artist, he just uses nontraditional mediums. Adores Lucy and will do ANYTHING to make her happy. Now that Miles is “missing” she is now his. He is wild, chaotic and passionate about his art. He has a very unique clientele for his taxidermy work.

Billy helps Lucy do research for her dark romance book. Needs to be accurate of course. Making sure that what she’s writing is accurate and doable. Billy, SIR, he has the dirtiest deg mouth! And he is more than willing to try out sense and acts form the books Lucy reads. He replaces her d!ld0 with a replica of his, so she is coming to him.

I loved how much patience Billy had for Lucy when she would start to spiral or not know how to best navigate her emotions or thoughts. He would guide her back with his words and actions. He was determined to show her exactly how she deserved to be treated.

Their love is beautiful. They were there for each other and could see a future together. They helped each other grow and move out of their respective comfort zones to try new things.

If you ever wondered what a love child of "Fifty Shades" and Dexter it might be, have your wonder filled this book. Lucy's recovered from the kind of trauma that would stop most people in their tracks when Billy comes along-a super charming, taxidermy-loving, organic soap-making serial killer. Imagine a thriller that's so horrifyingly amazing you cannot help but be invested in their relationship. It's the perfect love story if you're into weird hobbies such as. murder. You can't look away, though you're pretty certain you should call up someone.

Yes, plot twists? Oh yeah. And just when you were getting the hang of this twisted romance, bamm-you blink at the page like you have just seen an entire circus troupe perform a fire-eating act on a tightrope. Shocking, unpredictable, and, at the end of the sentence, leaves you with that "Did I just read that?.

This twist is great, but it's just like a person receiving the last puzzle piece, only to discover that there are half the pieces missing. Lucy is everything to Billy-insane love kind of like a puppy's affection-if that puppy were also a sociopathic murderer with zero personal boundaries. His notion of romance is kidnapping people who look at her wrong. Cute, right? Sort of like a horror show with some questionable after-hours moments. If you like your love stories dark, deadly, and full of "What the heck did I just read?," then this book's a keeper.
Thank you author, for the ARC.
