This was the first-ever novel in Scots Gaelic, published around 1910. The title translates as "Dun Aluinn: The Heir in Exile". It's set during the period of the Highland Clearances, with action ranging from Scotland to South Africa to New Zealand.
Difficult to read, not just because it is written in a now dead dialect that I am unfamiliar with, but because it was clearly not intended to become a novel when it was written. It's very jumpy, ill laid out, the pacing is terrible and some of the things that happen just make you thing ''em... what?''
