Nestled in a towering fir forest on British Columbia’s famous Vancouver Island, Three Rivers Campground is calling you to come relax, explore, and maybe even fall in love...
Clover Rivers is completely, totally over her ex.
Sure, her first ever relationship with a girl might have ended in a catastrophic breakup people still whisper about, but Clover is done with it.
The four years since have made her stronger. Smarter. Four years have turned her into the kind of woman who doesn’t believe in wishes on stars or miraculous second chances. As an aspiring environmental scientist, Clover puts her faith in cold, hard data, and the data says there’s no way anything good can come of messing around with a girl who already broke her heart.
Neavh Beaudoin is completely, totally still in love with Clover Rivers.
When a series of disasters lands her living on her cousin’s couch—and back in the small island town she never thought she’d see again—Neavh is forced to confront the leaving Clover behind was the biggest mistake of her life, and she’d give every star in the sky for another chance.
As cramped small town life makes it impossible to ignore the way the two women still spark like a wildfire, Clover realizes Neavh’s reasons for leaving might not have been so straightforward, and the future she’s planned for herself in the meantime might not fit as well as she thought.
The data suggests they’re only in for another heartbreak, but every theory’s got the tiniest chance to be proven wrong—especially when your last shot at love might depend on finally getting things right.
Chasing Stars is part of the Three Rivers series, a trilogy of interconnected sapphic standalones. Grab your tent and get ready for an adventure in this steamy romance from bestselling author Katia Rose.
Katia Rose is not much of a Pina Colada person, but she does like getting caught in the rain. She loves to write romances that make her readers laugh, cry, and swoon (preferably in that order). She’s rarely found without a cup of tea nearby, and she’s more than a little obsessed with tiny plants. Katia is proudly bisexual and has a passion for writing about love in all its forms.
Chasing Stars is now LIVE! I can’t quite believe we’re here at the end of an era. The Three Rivers series is now complete. All three of the Rivers sisters have found their happy endings, and they’ve had so many incredible readers to cheer them on along the way. The support and love for this series has meant the absolute world to me, and I’m so excited to take us all on this final adventure in River’s Bend.
Clover and Neavh’s story features my favourite romance trope of all time: second chance. For me, there’s nothing more swoon-inducing than a ‘right person, wrong time’ couple who finally get their shot at love. I’m so excited for you all to see Clover’s ‘one that got away’ come back into her life (in a pretty...unorthodox vehicle, might I add. #iykyk). There will be laughs, there will be angst, there will be al fresco steamy scenes in the forest, and there will, of course, be an epic HEA.
Whether you’ve been on the Three Rivers bandwagon since the start or you’re taking your first trip to River’s Bend today, THANK YOU for coming on this ride with me. I’m incredibly grateful to see my stories in the hands of so many readers. I know your reading time is precious, and I’m honored to be able to fill some of it with my stories. This might be the end of the series, but Three Rivers Campground will always be waiting in the pages to call you back home <3
4.5⭐️. Sweet ending to a lovely trilogy I didn't expect this to be my favorite from the series. Because we didn't see much of Clover, and also because she is 22, so it's in the new adult territory. I'm a sucker for second chances, so it's no wonder I liked it. I really enjoyed the initial tension and how neither Clover nor Neavh could listen to their heads, with their hearts unconsciously guiding them. Sadistic me wanted Neavh to wait just a bit longer. Clover and Neavh have a lot of work to do on their sides. After reading this series, it's clear that Rose excels at the personal growth aspect, with the same pattern of self doubt, denial, then anger, and finally acceptance, which allows characters to truly bloom on a personal level. The topic of grief was once again handled with delicacy. I'm sad to say goodbye to Rivers and wish for a follow-up on these three couples in the future.
By the conclusion of the Three Rivers series, we will have seen how each sister processes their grief after their mother's passing, makes big decisions regarding their future, and becomes involved in long-term relationships. Chasing Stars gives the youngest sister, Clover, a second chance at romance with her first love. The relationship between the two is so sweet and spicy. Clover's funny and wise best friend offers some great advice. Neavh's cousin is a solid source of support for her. Both mains struggle with difficult realizations about themselves and make significant changes. They show tremendous growth and bravery. Katia Rose has a way with words. She paints beautiful pictures of scenery and carries that beauty over to the inner thoughts and dialogue so that the reader cannot help but be immersed in the story. The characters are distinct and relatable. There are laughs and angst, and ultimately a HEA. This is truly a lovely way to say farewell to the series. I highly recommend it. I am a Katia Rose fan. #grief #secondchance #dysfunctionalfamily #familialsupport #vancouverisland #canada #campgroundsetting I received thisARC from StoryOrigin. This is my honest opinion.
Chasing Stars is the final book in Katia Rose's trilogy, Three Rivers, and focuses on Clover's second chance romance. While I enjoyed the previous two books, this one delves deeply into the characters' pasts and identity struggles, sometimes overshadowing the present-day romance. However, I still really enjoyed the detailed exploration of their backgrounds as it provided insight into their motivations and eventual growth.
Katia Rose excels in creating vivid settings and realistic scenarios. The detailed depiction of the Three Rivers campground and Vancouver Island are so inviting that it feels like a place you could or should visit. She also writes great New Adult fiction, and Neavh's family situation provided an interesting contrast to Clover’s, highlighting that not all family dramas end perfectly. I appreciated seeing Neavh's growth in how she approached her family as well.
While the development of secondary characters from previous books is limited, the compelling portrayal of coming-of-age and family dynamics made this an engaging read. Clover emerged as a well-rounded character, but the lack of depth in Neavh's story beyond her travels and family conflicts might explain why the second-chance romance didn't fully captivate me. Nevertheless, Chasing Stars beautifully encapsulates the bittersweet feelings of outgrowing your hometown and the challenges of personal growth.
Many thanks to StoryOrigin and Katia Rose for a copy of this novel. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars Good, but I liked the previous ones better. But once again, great handling of the psychological/sociological part. Grief is not an easy topic to tackle.
As the third and youngest daughter of the Rivers family, Clover feels a little left out, especially since she's been away studying on the other side of Vancouver Island. But she's back for the summer, as she always is, before she returns to Victoria for her master's degree. Only she wasn't expecting Neavh to be in town for the summer. She hasn't seen or heard from Neavh in years. Not since Neavh broke her heart and left town before Clover could join Neavh on travel plans they both made. But Neavh is still back and she's still Neavh, who represents Clover's biggest "What if..."
Chasing Stars is a cute book for the finale of this series, but it's easily the weakest of the three stories. I think Katia Rose relied too much on us buying into their past (without really giving us meaningful glimpses of it) to root for them in the present. Also, Clover is going through some major things and I wish her big moment with her sisters was more than it was.
First I want to thank the author for accepting my request and sendind me an ARC of this book. I am the biggest sucker for second chance romances so when I realized this was one I knew I had to read it. Now about the book..... on one side we had Clover who is dealing with the loss of her mom, feeling out of place in her own home, but at the same time can't get the courage to leave and do other things. On the other we have Neavh who never stays too long in the same place and that's part of the reason why they broke up four years ago. The romance was cute and all but what frustrated me was the ending, Neavh should be the one doing the grand gesture!!! She was the reason they were heartbroken for four years!! And she was planning to leave again!! Besides that, I loved this book and am now very curious to read the other to installments of the series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Chasing Stars is the oddball book in the series. Compared to previous volumes:
Hurt/comfort levels: low Spice: high Clover: not as adorkable as she could have been. Major missed opportunity. Neavh: surprisingly likeable. Good back story. Cats! Trope: second-chance romance with 23 year olds.. sigh
I would recommend this book if you've read the first two and want an epilogue to the series. It is signature Three Rivers with plenty of laughter, tears, and fantastic cameos from the rest of the cast. That said, I wouldn't recommend it as a standalone novel. Clover's story lacked oomph, and if you're looking for a standalone romance then there are better ones out there.
“Some wounds are so deep you can’t heal them. Sometimes all you can do is patch yourself up and run.”
After reading the Three Rivers series, Katia has become an auto-buy author for me, and this may be my favourite book in the trilogy. The Rivers sisters are such a fun trio who are exciting to read about and easy to relate to, and Clover and Neavh’s story kept me on the edge of my seat with their humour, tension, and no shortage of awkward situations as a result of their messy history. While this story is largely fun and lighthearted, there are plenty of deep moments that brought me to tears and made me really feel for the characters.
The fictional world created within the gorgeous abundance of nature on Vancouver Island is easy to get lost in, both in real life and within this story. There’s nothing more magical than worldbuilding that makes you feel like you’re in the story, and Katia does that perfectly throughout this series.
Huge thanks to Katia for the ARC and for creating such a fun and generous community for your readers!
Chasing Stars was a beautiful end to the Three Rivers trilogy! Clover and Neavh’s story had me laughing and crying throughout the whole thing. The way Katia Rose writes dialogue and characters’ thinking is SO relatable and natural. I got a kick out of Clover’s “Like any self-respecting little sister, I start going through (Emily’s facial care products) and sampling the ones that sound the most interesting.” Katia Rose has a beautiful way of writing - it’s so melodic, raw, and poetic - and Chasing Stars shows such beautiful, supportive family closeness combined with a lot of pain and wrestling about big life decisions and the worry of letting people down - not being enough. It’s a lovely second-chance love story with enough angst to make you want it to work out as bad as they do - but balanced with so much beauty, tension, tenderness…and a lot of awesome details about Vancouver Island and its nature. So great for this BC kid over here!
I think I've been low-key in love with all three Rivers sisters since the first Three Rivers book. I loved Emily's no-nonsense personality in Passing Through, and Trish's humor and the way she came into her own in Turning Back, but while I loved Clover I felt like she was the sister I knew the least about. Being the youngest and off at college for much of the first two books we didn't get to know her as well, so I wasn't sure what to expect from Chasing Stars. I needn't have worried.
This final installment, like the others, is told in first person. It's a bit of a rarity in romance novels, but when it's done well it's my favorite perspective, and this is tremendously well done. The way Katia Rose handles the internal thoughts of both Clover and Neavh is so realistic, and the dialogue feels incredibly natural, which allowed me as a reader to feel fully enmeshed and invested in the story.
While I came to adore both Clover and Neavh and their relationship, I think part of where this story shines is in the secondary characters. We already know most of them from the previous stories so they're able to just step out and be without needing additional development or backstory, particularly Neavh's cousin David, AKA town bar owner Scooter. I really loved seeing more of him and what a caring and loving person he is. I also appreciated that some things and side relationships were left unresolved, which is often how life is, but the characters were able to learn and grow from them.
The Three Rivers books just got better and better with each story, and I found the ending so satisfying. All we need now is a wedding (or three)!
I received a free ARC from StoryOrigin, but my review is unbiased.
Katia Rose is the master of new adult romance. She’s just the best at it. We’d caught glimpses of Clover Rivers in the previous two books and now she’s done with undergrad and trying to figure out her next steps in life. Her first love from 4 summers ago shows back up in town and sparks fly. I guess I love these so much because I was a hot mess of a new adult and can relate so much to their stories and feelings of being unsure of what life will bring them.
I didn’t love Trish’s story (Turning Back) and I need to reread Passing Through if only to catch glimpses of Clover. Katia Rose, however, could write a phone book and I’d enjoy it.
Chasing Stars is the third and final entry in the Three Rivers trilogy of sapphic romance novels. This one follows the youngest of the Rivers sisters, Clover, who is totally over her ex, Neavh (the other POV character), four years after the disastrous break-up that rocked both of them. I went into this book (pre-release ARC provided by the author, thank you!) hoping it would match the heights of the previous entries… I was wrong, it exceeded them! It was those books which got me hooked on Katia Rose’s writing (and resulted in me binging 8 of her books within the span of a month), and somehow this capstone book has elevated the entire Three Rivers saga for me.
If you liked any of the previous entries, you’ll get exactly what you expect: another excellent slow-burn, dual-POV (1st-person) sapphic romance set on Vancouver island! The characters are extremely well crafted and the dialogue (and communication between) is also great (+ you get to see loads more of the beloved characters introduced in the previous two books!). Clover and Neavh (their relationship, dynamic, and growth as individuals) are some of my favourite MCs that I've come across in any romance novel.
Thank you to Katia Rose for providing me with an ARC of Chasing Stars. Once again, Katia Rose has written an incredibly touching story that makes you feel all the feels. I can’t help but love both Clover and Neavh. Each character goes through their own struggles with loss of a family member and finding their place in the world while managing to work through a second chance at being together. Katia Rose has managed to present her characters with such authenticity; just a few pages in and you can feel how Clover exudes youngest sibling energy. And there’s almost nothing more French Canadian than Neavh craving a Pepsi. 😂
Chasing Stars is a wonderful story proving that second chances can happen, and it was a great conclusion to the Three Rivers series. As with all of Katia Rose’s books, Chasing Stars is a must-read.
I absolutely loved The Three Rivers series! I enjoyed getting to know all three Rivers sisters in these three books. Katia's use of imagery in her writing to describe both the picturesque setting of Vancouver Island and the emotional journeys of the characters is absolutely beautiful.
I thought the angst of this second chance romance was done well and I enjoyed the humor and all the feels. And the spice scenes were HOT! Clover and Neavh's story was my favorite of the three and I couldn't help but root for them. Their story was a perfect ending to the series and I'm gonna miss all the Rivers sisters! Such a sweet family! Highly recommend this Katia Rose series.
I've never requested an ARC before, but this was an early release read for me because I didn't want to wait for the actual release day to read it. I have KU so it would have been free, I'm just impatient. My review is 100% true.
First chapter I felt slightly adrift in, I think there was just too much getting laid out but from the second chapter I was comfortable. Back story was laid out and I am interested in how it will all play out. The scene where the mains acknowledge their past and what it meant to them is beautifully written. What didn’t work quite well for me was the first intimate scene. I found it less intimate than the “acknowledging their past scene”. A bit too much possession and owning for me. I found a scene towards the end quite emotional and moving. It wasn’t between both mains, but was still a pivotal relationship. I was also moved right at the end, again not between the mains, but an important relationship. Normally, if I get emotional reading a book, that feeling has me feeling it should be rounded up to a 5. I’m not doing that here because although their breakthrough conversation was beautifully written, I wasn’t as moved by the mains relationship over the whole book. A strong 4 but for a romance, the feels should be with the mains. However 4, as this is, means there was a lot to like between the mains.
First heartbreak stays with you. But what happens when your first love comes back to town, four years after they ghosted you? Enter, the story of Clover and Neavh.
You! The heck are you doing reading this review when you could be reading this series 😜 . Each one is worth a read, “Chasing Stars” being no exception. Clover and Neavh’s chemistry (fuelled even more by their history) is heckin great. They’re both sweet and lovely while still being relatable in their flaws, and a certain steamy moment was definitely gloriously unexpected 😆 ! I really enjoyed getting to be back with the Rivers family once again.
I have been a fan of this series since the beginning (reading and reviewing an ARC of each one), and I can tell you ‘tis sad as all heckadoodle to have reached the end of new stories from this particular bunch - but I shall indeed be reliving them with re-reads. Thank you, Katia Rose, for your writing and for the friends your noggin and pen (or keyboard 😆 ) have gifted us with. Three Rivers really is a hard place to leave.
**Oodles of thanks to the author and StoryOrigin for the ARC!
First of all, I’d like to thank Katia Rose for officially pulling me out of my reading slump. I was surprised by how much I loved this one when I was way more excited for the other two sisters’ stories, but jeez it was probably my favourite of the three! I loved Clover and Neavh, they were so cute and the sexual tension between them was *chefs kiss*. Also the spice in this one was Hot (get it? Capital H hehe… okay yeah you got it). Clover definitely surprised me in the best of ways haha. Another thing that really got me in this series was the bond between the Rivers family, they stuck by each other through everything and I thought that was really heartwarming to see. Overall a very sweet second chance romance that’ll make you “laugh, cry and swoon” - Katia’s own words, and very accurate. I’ll probably be rereading this at some point. Recommend :)
Clover is the youngest of the Rivers daughters, whose family owns a campground on Vancouver Island. After graduating college, Clover returns home for the summer feeling uneasy and out of place, but not sure why. Then Neavh returns, the girl who ghosted Clover and left the island after an intense summer love affair between the two.
The book is a second chance romance with each young woman having to overcome their own issues beyond figuring out what they mean to one another.
This is the third and final book in the series, with the first two focused on the romances of the older sisters. It is a very long book and I have to say, too long to the point where it was hard to hold my interest until the final chapters where everything was resolved.
This book is the third in the series and follows the youngest River sister, Clover.
An old flame returns to Three Rivers camp, Neavh, who have unfinished business together.
It follows two first-person POVs, which you know I always love ! There is confusion, hate, love, spice, and it was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions indeed. I felt their miscommunication was the right level but I just wish Clover just jumped from the deep end and took a plunge to travel across the world sooner - in the end though, you never know it may happen 👀 - no spoilers here !
The story was a great conclusion to the series and I felt it was quite emotional towards the end ! I really enjoyed this so much and can't wait to read Katia's next series 😍
I found the character arcs in this one to be very tidy and complementary. There was enough explanation of their individual and collective histories to make them feel rich while still allowing the present day storyline to take center stage. Also worst (best) meet cute I’ve ever read. “I try to avoid the pull of Spongebob’s vapid, haunting gaze…” iconic 🧽
So this series is officially part of my top books ever. Clover’s story was a beautiful conclusion to this series even if I wish I could get more from the Rivers sisters. I probably loved this one slightly less than the others cause I couldn’t relate to Clover or Neavh as much and they are both still very young (22). I’ll treat myself to the paperbacks of the whole series to re-read whenever cause it was that great. Just read it, (especially if you’re into nature/hiking/camping/road trips) you won’t regret
