I’ve always been the guy everyone knows by name or voice, who people want to be friends with and who some people want to be. As the lead singer of the rock band Young Decay, I’ve been able to stay true to that person.
However, the one thing that’s always been my downfall is never turning down a challenge.
Maybe that’s why when plus-size model and actress, Wren Kelly, approaches me about a fake dating scheme her publicist worked up, I barely hesitate before agreeing to it.

4.5 but rounding up to 5 as I’m making the decision to ignore the first 16-17%
The Reed from after the first 17% is a completely different character to how he started in this book. I honestly didn’t like him much at first, and I was super pissed about him getting a bj and Wren watching. However, I was eventually able to put it out of my mind since, one it happened before they were together, and two bc Reed was really cute with Wren. Still annoying and unnecessary tho.
Recently I’ve been so sick of fake dating, so I liked that even tho they WERE fake dating, it didn’t really seem like it. Reed always thought of her as his actual girlfriend and even when they were alone they didn’t act like they were faking
And also thought I’d mention, the bj scene was the only scene in the book with another person. After they start fake dating, neither are with anyone else. Reed even gets mad when Wren , kinda jokingly kinda not, asks if he’s with groupies because he considers that cheating which I was very pleased to see considering they were still only fake dating at this point

I will be honest - I didn't like Wren for fair bit of the book, but ofc she wormed herself beneath my skin closer to the end (as did Reed under hers). Overall - I absolutely loved Reed. I already liked him in MADNESS (same with Bon and Zeb - who will get their own books YAY)! And Wren is many things, but not broken. That girl is badass bitch and actually sweet, when she lets herself be free.
I can't express how happy I felt reading CHAOS (and MADNESS too), because music is such a big part of me (also my emo lizard brain was extra happy). I basically grew up/lived at music school. I sang solo, in choir and played piano + folk instrument that no one knows the name (nor how it looks) 😂. It's called kokle (plucked string instrument) if you google it lol. I take my imaginary hat off for Jack, because she created strong feelings for me when I read how Reed viewed his life as a musician. What he thinks of his fans, his journey and their future in this industry. I felt like I was part of their cult and was in every of their gigs. Man - I wish YD were real 🥲
In conclusion- if you enjoy music scene, mystery with danger, wonderful and enigmatic characters, great chemistry between main (and side) characters, spicy and *for some - unusual smut scenes - this is for you! Take a ride with them - you will not be sorry!!

Oh my god. I died a little reading Chaos. I can’t stress enough how badly I’ve been dying to read it. I loved Madness, but I knew I would totally adore Chaos.
Reed and Wren are my new favorite couple. They’re explosive together and I couldn’t get enough of their dynamic. Reed motherfucking Matthews. Jesus Christ, that man. His character was well balanced, the fact that he’s a golden retriever publicly and still acts that way behind closed doors… I utterly loved it. He was perfect for Wren and ultimately she was perfect for him. Her complexity was interesting and truthfully relatable as well. I loved her. Reed’s persistance was crucial in that instance and it made room for amazingly funny banter. Great push and pull.
The fact that there’s an element of suspense in Jack Whitney’s books is entertaining. Yes the Young Decay novels are rockstar romances, but it’s also more than that and it keeps us on our toes. The Young Decay series so far is absolutely crushing it: emotional, suspenseful, overflowing with love for music and concerts. I resonate with it so much.
I honestly devoured Chaos and I’ll need my own physical copy to grace my shelves. Thanks so much to Jack Whitney for the arc 🖤 I already can’t wait for Bedlam.

Just like the first book in this series I have to say the depth to the characters is something I love and I loved reading Wren and Reed’s story.
The Young Decay books are rock star romances (and also the first rock star romances I’ve read), but they're also deeper and than that. The Young Decay series is intense, gripping, and brimming with passion.
Overall another great reed. (See what I did there?)

Quick question though, why is this the FIRST time I've ever dived into a Rockstar Romance?! I ain't got a clue but I really don't know if any other could compare to the Young Decay series for me!
Chaos had literally everything I crave in a good book! The storylines were addictive AF & I literally could not put my kindle down. I was hooked from start to finish, not a single dull moment.
Reed is oh my god, drool worthy! I fully believe everyone deserves a Reed in their life, as a boyfriend, a brother or a best friend. He's energy is top-notch!!

Madness had me in a chokehold, and I was beyond excited for the rest of the band’s books.
Reed is Young Decay’s crop-top wearing, golden retriever, sunshine (yes, sunshine MMC!, love to see it!) lead singer of the metal core band’s story. Everyone adores him. He’s fun, chaotic, the one you want to be friends with.
When model & actress Wren Kelly needs an image boost to help promote her upcoming project, her team comes up with a scheme to get her and Reed in a fake relationship to overhaul her likeness factor.

I absolutely adore Reed and Wren! Their banter is off the charts. They have that perfect black cat/golden retriever dynamic.
The Halloween event scene had me squealing with excitement. The chemistry between them was palpable, even on the red carpet (and in plenty of other places too).
Here’s the lowdown...
Wren is a model-turned-actress known for her icy demeanor and sharp remarks. She’s especially infamous for making some mean girl comments about Reed in a public interview before they even met.
Reed is the energetic frontman of a close-knit rock band, and he can dish it out just as well as he takes it.
After a run-in with a stalker at a party, where Reed steps in to help Wren, the paparazzi catch them leaving together. Rumors start to fly, her reputation improves, and suddenly, people are more interested in hiring her.
Enter the fake dating scheme orchestrated by their manager and publicist. While Reed's reasons for agreeing are a bit flimsy, I’m glad he goes along with it.
Reed is determined to break through Wren’s defenses, and slowly but surely, her walls start to crumble. I couldn't stop grinning as I watched them banter and gradually break each other down.
And that stalker from the party? Turns out to be far more dangerous and complicated than anyone realized. Wren has secrets she must keep to protect Reed.
Prepare for some tears, but rest assured, it’s a happy ending.

if i could personally award this book a noble prize, i absolutely would.
i finished this book days ago and i simply was too overwhelmed to write any sort of review and truthfully i STILL am. i thought 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 had me in absolute agony, 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗢𝗦 came in and round-housed kicked me in the gut.
it was only appropriate to pair our residential golden-retriever with the grumpiest of black cats’ there ever was. i was only partially scared by Wren’s consistent attitude and berating in the first half of the book because personally, if i were Reed, i’d crawl in a hole and die if she insulted me the way she did.
thankfully it got WAY better as the book went on. i understand where she came from when she’d put up those damn walls but my girl was M E A N.
as grueling as she was, i can’t say i didn’t absolutely love her with my whole heart.

TIME. i love the duality of him: both hard and soft, sweet and sour as fuck. one of the many reasons he had so much chemistry with Wren from the very beginning. i love seeing this hyper-active, wild, and untamable guy turn into absolute pudding at the hands of the people he loves, especially Wren’s dominant ass. i didn’t doubt for a second that he wouldn’t be an absolute favorite of mine and i’m honestly going to be coming back to him a lot in my re-readings of this book.

i can’t stress just how perfect Wren and Reed were for each other. they were so polar and so in-sync at the same time, it kept me on my toes whenever these two were in a room together. seriously, the tension in this book was TOP. TIER. the hate to love trope did not disappoint and in-fact heightened their inevitable relationship for me, especially in moments where the lines between them were entirely blurry when it came down to the fake dating aspect. i could feel every bit of turmoil, pain, agony at the thought of being apart from each other, the idea of not being in each other’s lives, and the fact that they absolutely needed each other to hold onto — no questions asked.
i love my kids so bad. i love this series so far and i’m so glad i started reading these books leading up to the newer release for Bonnie’s book (whom i absolutely adore).

i finished this book days ago and i simply was too overwhelmed to write any sort of review and truthfully i STILL am. i thought 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 had me in absolute agony, 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗢𝗦 came in and round-housed kicked me in the gut.
it was only appropriate to pair our residential golden-retriever with the grumpiest of black cats’ there ever was. i was only partially scared by Wren’s consistent attitude and berating in the first half of the book because personally, if i were Reed, i’d crawl in a hole and die if she insulted me the way she did.
thankfully it got WAY better as the book went on. i understand where she came from when she’d put up those damn walls but my girl was M E A N.
as grueling as she was, i can’t say i didn’t absolutely love her with my whole heart.

ich weiß echt nicht was ich sagen soll weils eine achterbahnfahrt der gedanken und gefühle war... war das buch gut? nein! fand ich reed und wren manchmal echt annoying? ja! hatte ich trotzdem spaß dabei es zu lesen? meistens! würde ich das buch empfehlen? definitiv nicht (trotzdem werde ich reed vermissen)!
das buch war nochmal mehr eine wattpad geschichte und zwischen drinnen so mega cringe aber irgendwie wollte ich auch nicht weg schauen.. wie bei einem autounfall halt.
beispiel 1: wie krampfhaft reed am anfang auf badboy gemacht hat! es hat mir den größten ICK gegeben vor allem weil er eher ein golden retriever ist als irgendwas böses
beispiel 2: fotoshooting von der halloweenparty... einfach nur yikes?
beispiel 3: als bonnie und zab plötzlich diese mafia typen ausgenockt haben weil sie ja jetzt self defense unterricht besuchen...?

Reed!!!!! I am in love with a rockstar! Wren and Reed are perfection. I truly haven’t fallen this hard for fictional characters in a looooong time.
Reed’s chaos is infectious and he had me giggling at his antics throughout the book. I need a Reed in my life right NOW! The way he sees and loves Wren is so beautiful!!! I didn’t want this story to end 🖤

Hands down favorite series I’ve read this year and I will continue to yap about it to anyone and everyone!
This one was so light and funny (bc Reed can’t help himself) but serious and brutal (Wren you guarded bad girl). Their story absolutely wrecked me and I had so much fun with this one.

I also adore that we got a glimpse at Mads and Andi’s story through Reed and Wren.

If devouring this story is wrong then I will never be right. I couldn’t get enough of Reed & Wren - their love was absolute chaos but it was a ride I never wanted to get off. Their banter was ✨top tier✨ and oooh how explosive their tension was when they finally gave in to their insane chemistry!

Mads sent Wren a whole file on Damien she tells Damien to leave her alone or she will release the file .
She goes back to Reed they officially start dating then something bad happens .
So turns out Reed bodyguard is former fbi and has been trying to take out Damien and used Wren and Reed to lure Damien.
They took Reed. Damien died. Reed jumped in front of a bullet, and he proposed to Wren .

I love their friendship and their fake dating Wren is very closed off and Reed is well not and he likes her even though it's fake
They hook up and oh my the spice in this book was so hot
Wren past is that some shady guy who Wren brother fucked over owns her and stalks her and is now stalking Reed also
Wren doesn't want Reed to get hurt so they have to end their fake dating before Reed gets hurt
Mads sent Wren a whole file on Damien she tells Damien to leave her alone or she will release the file .
She goes back to Reed they officially start dating then something bad happens .
So turns out Reed bodyguard is former fbi and has been trying to take out Damien and used Wren and Reed to lure Damien.
They took Reed. Damien died. Reed jumped in front of a bullet, and he proposed to Wren .

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Chaos, and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more!! I was hoping to like Reid, but my heart belonged to Mads… until I read this book! Don’t get me wrong Mads will always have my heart, but Reid just shoved in there and made room for two. One thing I adore about this author is that she’s able to write such an authentic female main character that is just as tough as she is gorgeous. It’s such a huge bonus to me that the female main character is a curvier woman, especially in the music scene. As a former Warped Tour junkie this just scratches a part of my brain that I don’t think I’ll ever have the words for. Usually I’m into the strong silent types in my books but boy, oh boy… Reid was just such a fantastic surprise.
Not only is the romance so incredibly sweet, but I swear the ending had me at the absolute edge of my seat. I almost forgot there was anything outside of Wren and Reid and man does it just come out of left field when you’re just waiting for them to spend time together. In my opinion that’s a marker for a damn near perfect romance.
To say I’m obsessed with this series would be the understatement of the century!! I’m working my way through all her books and guys just trust me GO READ ALL OF THEM!! I know tho just got released, but oh my GOD I can’t wait for the next book! At this point I’d read her grocery list, lol.

Chaos
Ok, the banter was bantering.
These two cracked me up with what they said to each other.
Loved this book so much.
As much as Reed was chaos, he definitely met his match with Wren.
Her comebacks and mouth were on point.
Their love was so gut wrenching and so beautifully chaotic.
I read this book twice this year and I had to reread it bc I kept getting this song stuck in my head bc all I kept picturing was Reed singing this to Wren in the rig.
If you know, you know.
This book is me of my top reads of 2024 and one I could reread over and over.
This is true MMC being a golden retriever and the FMC being black cat.
This is rockstar and actress with suspense.
This is a woman who is all alone in the world and a man who has so many people he can count on but still feels lonely.
This is acceptance of who we are by that one person and the fact that we don’t have to smile all the time.
Love this book so much!
