This author has drawn me in the dark mafia world with her spellbinding words, intricate storyline, and unique characters. Book One in the Rivals of Blackthorn Series, Prized Possession sets the stage for what is sure to be an electrifying series. A tantalizing read, I love my mafia romances and the brother's best friend / forbidden trope is the icing on the cake.
I typically find that slow burn romances can be hit or miss as often times the story goes so slow that it fizzles out by the end. That is not so with Prized Possession! The slow burn between Marcus and Chloe was exquisite, intense, and so sensual my kindle was smoldering.
The book is rather long and I felt that parts of the beginning could have moved a bit faster, but I would not say it dragged. It also didn’t feel quite as dark as this author’s other works, but that fit perfectly with the characters and the storyline. The book is quite spicy, which I loved and I also enjoyed the mafia undertones present throughout the story. The character growth of both, but especially Chloe, was well done.
Being the first book in the series, I thoroughly enjoyed being introduced to so many intriguing characters. Who are the villains? What are the stories behind the supporting characters? I cannot wait to read more about the Rivals of Blackthorn!

Emma has completely pulled me into the thrilling, shadowy world of the mafia with her mesmerizing words, intricate plot twists, and unforgettable characters! Book One of the Rivals of Blackthorn Series, titled Prized Possession, sets the stage for what promises to be an electrifying saga. It’s a tantalizing read that hits all the right notes, especially for fans of mafia romances—adding in the brother's best friend/forbidden trope just sweetens the deal!

There were so many plot twists in this that I didn't see coming, especially loved the scene with a certain someone who definitely got what was coming to him. I cannot wait to see what is next from this series!!

This was my first Emma Luna read and it did not disappoint! Prized Possession is a great dark mafia romance with dual pov and descriptive writing. I loved the slow burn romance, amazing tension, and chemistry between Marcus and Chloe. The characters and storyline really pulled me in, and I'm excited to see what happens next!

I've been wanting more books from this author and I was super happy when this book arrived.
Emma Luna has a peculiar writing that will spike your attention with just one chapter.
Trust me, I know what I'm talking about.
Prized Possession is her latest release and explores the the lives of Marcus and Chloe.
This book is an interconnected standalone dark romance, set in the Beautifully Brutal world. Have you had the chance to read any of the books from this series? I sincerely advise you to do so. You'll thank me later.
Marcus is not a saint, for the contrary, he's dark as they come and the dark underbelly of Blackthorn.
He's loyal to a fault and no choir boy.
Chloe has been off-limits since she's his best friend's sister, but one a bet...
Chloe has been having a life that on the outside is beautiful, but behind closed doors, the darkness has been consuming her...

I adore a book that ca capture my attention with a few chapters and this was one of them.
Despite the fact that this book is long, (something I did not mind at all), I was on edge the entire time and still wanted more.
The way the story started let me know that it was going to be a bumpy ride, and I loved every second of it.
The characters knew each other, and it was amazing to witness the way it evolved into something more.
It was amazing to have glimpses from several characters of the Beautifully Brual series. It made me want to read this series all over again.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to slap someone silly,but then it changed and I just wanted to help them heal.
Love the ups and downs, the dark and light.
Madness, crime, punishment are very present, as well as love, loyalty and desire.
If you want a book that will make you scream with rage and blush, this is your book.
Amazing Luna, like always you did not dissapoint.

Prized Possession is Emma Luna’s newest mafia romance, and is book one in her Rivals Of Blackthorn series. Marcus Morelli is dominant personified. He rules all areas of his life tightly, be it as a mafia boss, or possessive lover. His smirks and arrogant charm will steal your heart from the get go. One things for certain, once you get into his inner circle, he will protect you to no end.
Bring in Chloe Santoro, everything he can’t have. Highly forbidden but oh so tempting. Being the sister to Marcus’s best friend and in an arranged engagement to his rival, she is highly off limits. But after a bet that has them stuck together for sixty days, lines blur and what was once out of reach is suddenly so much closer.
I absolutely loved this book. It has so many of my favourite tropes, making it a highly enjoyable read. A big theme in this book is acceptance and learning to heal through love. Marcus challenges Chloe to embrace her vulnerabilities, to learn who she is and helps heal her past trauma by giving her power back.
Whilst the themes of trauma are horrible, it was so lovely to read about the care and affection a partner can give once you have a deep level of trust in each other.
All that’s not to say that this book didn’t have many other elements to it. It had the action and spice that make a great mafia romance.
I cannot wait to read book two in this series. I know some of the character that’ll make up the MMF relationship and I can already tell it’s going to be a brilliant read! The tension is already brewing and I love it.

Prized Possession is the first book in the Rivals of Blackthorn series by Emma Luna and what a fabulous story it is!! My to-do-list went out the window this weekend as I was hooked from the very beginning and struggled to put my Kindle down!
This storyline had everything I’d expect in a good Mafia romance story. There was drama throughout this narrative and not only between rival families but within each family too.
I loved getting to know Marcus and Chloe. Of course, I handed over my heart to Marcus – after all I’m a sucker for an alpha male. However, for me, Chloe’s journey was a highlight of this storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed her character development, and she wouldn’t have amassed and exhibited the strength she possesses without the role Marcus played. They truly are perfect for each other.
I absolutely love the friendships between Marcus, Jake and Miles and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book – Mutual Obsession. I have my suspicions of what could develop; however, I may be overthinking certain things.... time will tell. I do love a story that has me considering all the possibilities.
This is a slow burn romance story so there is quite a build-up to Marcus and Chloe’s intense physical relationship, and my only niggle is that I personally found these scenes between the couple to be a little repetitive, in particular the language used between them. Those of you who follow my reviews know I’m not a fan of repeats.

Dark mafia romance with tropes like brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, slow burn and rival families.
Both Marcus and Chloe were intriguing characters, and I loved their banter and chemistry. It was nice to see their relationship development throughout the story, and also to see them both grow as characters individually. Chloe was a strong and fierce character with a traumatic, difficult past. I loved seeing how she was able to overcome and heal on her own, but also with Marcus’s help.
The side characters were also interesting, and I can’t wait to read more about Jake and Miles. I would love to learn more about Jake’s story and recovery.
The dual-POV storytelling worked well for the plot, and I was equally invested in both of the main characters’ POVs.
The writing style was immersive and made me feel like I was in the middle of the action. The plot kept me hooked, and it was hard to put the book down.
This was my first book by the author, but it won’t be the last. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Rivals of Blackthorn series.

However, when a high stakes bet lands his best friends sister Chloe Santoro, in his lap, everything as he knows it changes. These two are stuck together for sixty days and she is very much off limits as his best friend's sister. But also because she is engaged even if it is an engagement and marriage arranged by her parents. You are going to absolutely love getting to know Marcus and Chloe. Chloe however is the one that steals the show in this book. She is a strong and fierce. These two have some great banter with each other. I loved how their chemistry bleeds off the pages. I love that his book was not a fast paced romance but a slow burn that will have you turning the pages and absolutely anticipating what is going to happen between them. Chloe does not have an easy past. She hasn't really dealt with and gotten over it. With Marcus beside her she is able to do just that. An unexpected surprise was Marcus two best friends, Jake and Miles. I loved getting to know them and I really can't wait to see more of them throughout this series.

I have always been and will always be a sucker for a good Mafia Romance, and Emma did not let me down. Chloe has had a crush on Marcus since she was very young, but they are on opposing sides of a Mafia peace treaty and being together could start a war. Not to mention, she's been raised to improve her family's standing through a strategic marriage, of which Marcus does not fit the bill. As a byproduct of being close to the mafia, everyone seems to be dealing with all manner of tragedy and upset and are finding their own way through managing those experiences. There was a fair bit of emotional upheaval as a result, but that's exactly what you would expect from picking up a mafia romance!
Marcus and Chloe's relationship is so sweet that I think I developed a cavity. Sweetheart. Love. Mio. *sigh* Marcus tries to be a big bad mafia leader, but is an absolutely teddy bear when it comes to Chloe and I couldn't get enough.
Overall, compared to other mafia romances I've read, it's felt like much of mafia aspect was happening in the background. It's there throughout, but it's more so looming, rather than playing an active role. The angst was actually quite low compared to what I was expecting, but it was a nice change of pace for sure. I was cheering on Jake several times throughout this book (Chloe's brother) and I can't wait to read more about him in Mutual Obsession!

This is a chunky book at 440 pages but it didn't feel like that because each chapter left me wanting more.

Chloe is Jacobs beautiful sister, the party girl who is living a crazy lifestyle by night but forced to be the dutiful daughter by day. In a bid to remove Chloe from the situation and gain her some freedom, Marcus 'wins' her for 2 months in a bet with Jacob.

I’ve been in my mafia era… so of course I has to read this book when I saw the tropes and then blurb….I was SOLD‼️
◾️I mean, brothers best friend and forbidden romance!? How is a girl to resist!! Sprinkle in some protective MC and secret relationship 🫠🫠
◾️We all know arranged marriages are expected in the mafia, but I absolutely LOVED the twist this book gave to that! I won’t say more because I don’t want to spill any of the fun bits!! Just know I loved it and was HERE👏🏻FOR👏🏻IT👏🏻!!
◾️In true Jess fashion, there’s always a side character (not sure if that’s the correct term) that intrigues the crap out of me!! This book was no exception, other than there’s TWO characters I need more of. Jake and Miles. Those two are such a mystery and what you learn about each of them has my head reeling with theories. 🤪

I just loved Marcus, the way he was dark and broody, and yet was able to let his walls down for Chloe was just everything!
And Chloe, although having her own demons to fight, she's not broken, she's strong and resilient and with Marcus in her corner she's able to overcome those demons and be the brilliant, beautiful woman she's always meant to be! I just loved how Marcus helped her to grow and shine 🥹
And as a first in series the world building and character development is on point! I cannot wait for more of these characters and to see where the series goes 😍

This was my first book by Emma Luna, but it definitely won’t be my last! Her writing style pulled me in right away, giving me such a vivid picture of Chloe and Marcus’s personalities that I felt like I really knew them. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts, and the slow burn? Absolutely brutal—but so worth it in the end!
I also loved the dual POV, which made it easy to connect with both characters on a deeper level. The story flowed so smoothly, it was hard to put the book down. If you’re into dark romance with intense chemistry, well-drawn characters, and just the right amount of angst, this one’s a must-read!

Emma Luna is easily a go to, must read author for me! I enjoyed this book very much!
Prized Possession is a best friends brother, enemies to lovers, mafia romance that really brought the drama. I love the characters and the story for them. Emma Luna really has a way of writing lovable characters, even if they aren’t supposed to be the villain. I really enjoyed this book.
I can’t wait for more from Emma Luna. I enjoy seeing new things coming from her. I definitely recommend this for others to read!

What amazing start to a new series. I couldn’t put this book down. I just love how the main characters interact with each other. Marcus; who is dark and broody to everyone, but with Chloe he starts to let his walls down and we see another side to him. Chloe's life has been hard at times as she’s got her own demons but working with Marcus we see how strong she is, and can over come them. This book is beautifully written with a plotline that draws you in with amazing characters and a captivating storyline. I can’t wait see what’s going to happen next with Jake and Miles.

While this is considered d4rk romance and believe me, there are some d4rk scenes, the relationship between these two was always light and easy.
Chloe is keeping something close to her heart and Marcus sees that very early on. He’s great with her and helps her find empowerment in herself. And when she needs him, he steps up in a big way.
This ended in a HEA. Huge bread crumbs for the second book in the series.

Growing up together well Jacob had his sister Chloe . When things go south and Chloe needs to get out of an unwanted union . Marcus helps and all just goes crazy from there. This is a book you will not want to put down until you have reached the end.

Fantastic start to a brand new series from this author. I just couldn't put it down , I was hooked on Chloe and Marcus. I'm so excited for what's to come in this series with that ending , I'm so excited for more Miles and Jake. I'm ready for more and I've only just devoured this. Amazing five-star read that I would definitely recommend.

Emma never fails to amaze me with her beautifully intricate tales. She makes me fall in love with every single character, in the best and worst ways. This is going to be another all nighter series, and I can’t wait to see the evolution and twists and turns she develops. You won’t regret picking this story up, but you will regret putting it down!
