Elisa S. Amore is the author of the paranormal romance saga Touched. She wrote the first book while working at her parents’ diner, dreaming up the story between one order and the next. She lives in Italy with her husband, her son, and a pug that sleeps all day. She’s wild about pizza and traveling, which is a source of constant inspiration for her. She dreamed up some of the novels’ love scenes while strolling along the canals in Venice and visiting the home of Romeo’s Juliet in romantic Verona. Her all-time favorite writer is Shakespeare, but she also loves Nicholas Sparks. She prefers to do her writing at night, when the rest of the world is asleep and she knows the stars above are keeping her company. She’s now a full-time writer of romance and young adult fiction. In her free time she likes to read, swim, walk in the woods, and daydream. She collects books and animated movies, all jealously guarded under lock and key. Her family has nicknamed her “the bookworm.” After its release, the first book of her saga quickly made its way up the charts, winning over thousands of readers. Touched: The Caress of Fate is her debut novel and the first in the four-book series originally published in Italy by one of the country’s leading publishing houses. The book trailer was shown in Italian movie theaters during the premiere of the film Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 2.

Teen Villains is the first book in Elisa S. Amore’s and Kiera Legends’ School of Evil series. After Gwyn leaves a party, the last thing she expects is to hear someone or something whisper her name. The draw to investigate pulls at her, and so she comes upon a mysterious old house where one should not belong. What does it mean? What is this mysterious glass orb that she finds and why does her caretaker force her to touch with her bare hands? Well, brace yourself because Gwyn is about to be taken on a wild ride.
Teen Villains has a promising blurb that doesn’t fully translate into the first half of this book. The story stumbles like a youngling deer learning how to get to their feet for the first time. Things feel all over the place without a clear sense of direction until further on in the story. Then there is Gwyn’s name. Why is it “Gwyn White” and then “Gwyn Avalon?” There is no explanation or correction concerning the name that she gives the Headmaster and what he calls her. It’s strange.
Gwyn’s sudden appearance, the quick acceptance of the other students she encounters, and the lack of clear direction leave you to muddle through the story until the pieces start to come together. Some names you’ll see will immediately indicate who they are or are meant to be. Others, not so much.
After the halfway point the pieces begin falling into place, and the storyline starts getting more interesting. There is some “insta-romance” or fast-blooming romance. Things are kept PG, but there are hints that things might get a touch steamy for a YA novel. We’ll just have to see, but hopefully things stay PG or PG-13 at most.
This series has potential, so let’s see where things go from here.
This book rates a soft 4 (3.8) out of 5 stars.

This book is everything I’ve been looking for! Kiera Legend wrote an amazing piece, and I’m glad I was able to snag an ARC.
Gwen being sucked into a different world is every reader’s dream, only she doesn’t wake up at Hogwarts…. She wakes up at Wickmore Academy, a school for the exceptionally wicked and the students are villains from their own fairy tales.
Excuse me, sign me up. I would drop my adult job to go to school with fairytale villains (My boss if you by chance see this, I’m just kidding. I very much love my job, please don’t fire me).
Gwen’s character is nice, I don’t have complaints for how she was written. I throughly enjoyed her character. The writing style was nice and the story flowed. I personally, would recommend it to anyone who is exploring the whole villian arc

OMG this is so good! Gwyn raised to be a thief and is one of the best in the business when she finds herself sucked into a glass sphere and finds herself in another world! A magical world with an academy which holds villains instead of hero’s! We meet the villains that we all grew up with and this exciting tale gives us their back stories and shows them in a different light. It’s entertaining and enthralling and filled with twists and turns and more then a few surprises, this was off to an incredible start and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Got some Disney villains vibes going on. Gwyn is on a job. After she gets this pulling feeling. She follows it. Ends up in an old house. Something happens where are ends up at a school with no memories. She meets a group of teens. Somehow Gwyn changes them. They each get “powers”. Gwyn learns that what happened is part of a game? Who is playing and who is in control? Will they find out by the end of the book?

I absolutely love Kiera and Elisa books! What a great start to a series! Gwyn an Orphan and highly trained thief finds herself sucked into a glass sphere where she wakes up with no memory of who she is and where she is from. As a group of students find her outside on school grounds she quickly learns that she is not in New York anymore and something unusual is going on there. As students start to get their magic and glimpses of their memories back from touching Gwyn can a school full of Teen villains band together to figure out what is happening and what game is being played and by whom? Absolutely recommend!!!

A magical beginning of series - unlike any other re-telling or academy series I have read. You know these characters, but not in this way. I was captivated from start to finish. This first book is steady paced in getting to know the characters and the world. I can't wait to get to know these characters in more depth in future books.

I honestly really liked this. It was very quick-paced, and full of twists. I liked figuring out who all the characters were and trying to figure it out before it was obvious.

I loved this book! I hate that she’s somehow sent to this school with no memories of her previous life and has no clue what is going on. I love that she has the ability to restore powers to the other kids at the academy. I hate that the headmaster tries to get her to sign a contract and how she is kidnapped. I love the fairytale aspect of it and how each of the students have a relation to a different person. I hate that a lot of them have a bad future ahead.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters most people are familiar with from childhood stories really helps to do draw you in. The dark side of the story kept my attention. Can't wait to read the next one.

Gwyn is a character you can easily fall in love with and the world she's thrown into is definitely a magical mystery I can't wait to unravel. Easily enthralled with sweet romance and exciting plot twists, the story follows Gwyn and her new friends on journey of self discovery. Fairytale retelling are always fun and I am excited for the next book in the series to see where these villains go.

Gwyn grew up in an orphanage run by Morgan Le Fey, trained to be a master thief. After she and the other girls had worked a party one evening, Gwyn was drawn to an abandoned house where she found a most unusual sphere. She's sucked into the sphere ending up at Wickmore Academy in another dimension. It's a castle housing some of the most famous fairy tale villains. Only, they aren't villains yet. They are teenage orphans just like Gwyn. And she may be able to alter their entire future. Let the game begin.

I was excited when I learned of this new series. What a wonderful premise! Sky High for fairy tales. However, it was a bit of a letdown. Most of the book could be considered worldbuilding and story set-up. The characters were introduced, but I didn't connect with any of them as I hoped. I struggled to become immersed in the story despite my love of fairy tale re-tellings. I'm definitely not giving up on the series because I do believe in its potential, but I do wish there had been more relationship-building, allowing for more of an investment in the story and the characters.
a
I dropped the ball on this series and forgot all about it, so when I came across it on audio, I restarted it from the beginning. I'm so happy I did. This time I was able to better appreciate the creativity involved with the cast and setting. Yes, it's mostly a set-up book, but the foundation is strong. The characters are a fantastic mix of fairy tales and legends. It's imaginative, and I look forward to seeing the choices the baby baddies make.

amazing!!

I started reading this book because I seen it pop up on my KU recommendation and when I sent it was by Kiera Legend and Elisa S. Amore who wrote Demigods academy, which I loved, I knew it was something I wanted to read! Also the title Teen Villains sounded super intriguing to me !

I absolutely loved this book and loved learning about the villains that are in the story and trying to figure out who’s who and where they are! I desperately need book 2!

Not For Me, But Has A Great Base

A friend of mine asked me to read this first, and I jumped on it. At the core, this is an interesting story.

Gwyn, our leading lady, has been trained by her guardian (somewhere between six and ten years) to be the perfect thief. She knows her art history, can defend herself, and has a wicked slight of hand to nab the best items without being caught. However, something feels off on one particular night. She can’t shake it and winds up sneaking out and going exploring. A mysterious house draws her in and she finds a magic ball, one that when she touches it, throws her into a different realm…a different reality…at the site of a school.

There, she doesn’t have any memories of where she came from. The knowledge is there, she’s an orphan, who lived in New York, and she’s 16, but that’s it. Gwyn teams up with a group from the school to not only unlock her own mysteries, but also theirs.

Sadly, I could not lose myself in the story. There weren’t enough descriptions, so it was hard to picture what was going on. The cast is also fairly large, and I kept losing track of who was in a scene. The plot moves along fairly quickly, yet doesn’t seem connected from one chapter to the next. (Example: There was this big dance that wasn’t mentioned until it was needed as a punishment for the group, but we only spent a few moments at said dance and it wasn’t brought up again.)

The best part, was connecting which characters grew into which villains. Seeings them as teens, and watching as they come to realize the horrible people they may become, loved that.

Elisa S. Amore and Kiera Legend are known for their supernatural school books. Teen Villians is a bit different. This looks at fairy tales putting villains such as Maleficent and Ursula up front. The main character though has the unique ability to give her classmates powers. Gwen doesn't understand how she got here and how there was nothing modern in her surroundings. I enjoyed this story and the setup of the series' overall arc.
I mostly enjoyed the narration. I always love when multiple narrators are used for different characters, especially when it's a male voice instead of a woman trying to capture the tone. Patricia Santomasso was good; I liked her as the character. Ass for Stephen Dexter, he has a great voice but sounds too old for the character he voiced.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
I was given a copy for review; all opinions are my own.

Audio Review:
School of Evil (Teen Villains, Book 1) begins with a great premise that sets the tone. The essence of the storyline is intriguing. A fascinating cast of characters that I look forward to learning more about them. The plot keeps you listening. The only thing missing is the detailed world-building descriptions and settings. I just wish the authors gave us more vivid words to showcase the world. I'm looking forward to finding out more about this place and seeing how the story unfolds.

Patricia Santomasso and Stephen Dexter nailed the dual narration. I loved both narrator's inflections and performances. Patricia articulated Gwyn's character very well and her pitch sounded in the character's range. Stephen's timbre is a great portrait of the male main villain.

Definitely a long movie 😉

I always immerse myself in books as if I'm in a movie or am there. Neither happened here. Very slow getting to a point that I had guessed about half way through. Disappointing story weaving, not what I expected from others of this genre I read. Sorry ladies but for the first time I can't in all honesty give a 5 star review. However, I'm committed now so hope book 2 is a little less sedate.

I love loved this story. The world building the characters just amazing! I couldn’t put it down it was so rich in fantasy . I love that I detect a bit of a retelling of a classic. I loved how the characters were all teens trying to discover who they are and with the guidance of Morgan le fey and the deceptive Merlin. Perfect to read or listen to around the house doing chores or kicking your feet up in bed.

Pleasantly Surprised

I was a little hesitant since there was no indication of a romance, I need some romance and there is the start of something. 😉 It’s been interesting trying to figure out who’s who, still unsure of a couple characters. I’m pretty sure about one from the start of his powers, the line “All the better to kiss you with, my dear.” - was kind of a clue and I’m 97% sure. Off to book 2!!

Both are new to me authors and I quite enjoyed this book. I loved the play on fairy tale villains. It has a very interesting premise and it seemed well paced throughout. I enjoyed the world building and the twist that came with it. I’m intrigued to find out more about the how and why of it all therefore I’m definitely interested in continuing to the next book.

The narrators did a pretty good job embracing the characters. Tone and inflection were well done. Definitely a well paired duo.

Interesting twist

This is an interesting twist on our favorite fairy-tales. Gwyn has been raised in an orphanage and trained to do some very interesting things. She grabs something she probably shouldn't, and wakes up someplace strange. Enter the other characters that are just as confused as she is. I listened to the audiobook, the dual narrators are amazing

A cool concept and I like trying to guess which villain everyone was going to be. I'm still a little unsure about a few of them, I have some ideas but they haven't been confirmed fully yet. I'm curious where the story is going. This book is kind of the set up and not too much happens other than character introductions and development. I'm hoping more happens in the next one.

Makes you root for villains

Love the twist to childhood story villains. This series gives you the pre-villain story and makes you root for them to make the right choices and win.
