Arianna Moore is starting over and new to Hade Harbor. On a whim she goes for a celebratory drink at The Clutch, meeting Marcus Bailey, a bartender.
Both Ari and Marcus were a little bit broken by the life they’ve lived. Likewise, each felt unworthy of love and happiness. Recognizing a kindred spirit in one another, they were inexplicably drawn together. Their love story wasn’t easy, but it was dark and perfect.
“Scars are beautiful. They tell a story. Your story… and it’s fucking fascinating, birthday girl, just like you.”
Let me be clear, Marcus is my favorite Hellion and, IMHO, this is the best book in the series so far. Does it have anything to do with Marcus being unhinged and next-level OTT J/P? The red flags raining down like confetti? Yes. Yes, it does! I’m a simp for a MMC who is relentless in his pursuit, with no fcuks to give and Marcus satisfies. Wink. Wink.

Whenever I crack open a book from Mila Kane, I know I need to buckle up. That was definitely the case here with Ari and Marcus. They start with a wild night on Ari's birthday, before they know one another fully, and it keeps thrumming most of the way through.
There are lots of strings and road blocks to them being together. She's a music professor at his college, they both have family drama, she's kinda on the run, their relationship is forbidden, but Marcus doesn't see these as normal obstacles. He is gonna bust right through it all.
When he discovers she gets hot by some of the games he plays, Ari better watch out, because this man is relentless. She's never had someone pursuing her this way before, and even though she is five years older than him (he's 20/she's 25), that's not enough to restrain him.
I was really sucked into their romance and I loved how obsessed he became with her so soon. I always love that shit! But I do think that it drug on too long. Especially because there was a very compelling suspense element and a heavy family drama (on both their sides) to work through. I think Ari could have been less resistant quicker, so there was more room for the final act.
Overall, this was another banger and I really enjoy all the stories I get from Mila Kane. I can't wait for who's next.

Me reading MF romance was NOT on my bingo card for this year but here we are. This book stalked me relentlessly on instagram until I finally caved and picked it up. When I used to read this genre I always loved reverse age gap teacher/student romances and it appears I still do. Ari and Marcus were fire 🔥 from the moment they met and I couldn’t get enough. This book says it’s a bully trope but I don’t agree with that really. Marcus was a jealous possessive guy who wouldn’t take no for an answer after these two have a one night stand but Ari wanted him and liked the games they played so I felt everything was consensual the entire time despite some of the things that happened. My favorite part of this book was that Marcus fell first for Ari and fell hard. I didn’t read other books in this series but I could tell that his reaction to Ari wasn’t the norm for him and despite how hard he fought it, it was his battle to lose.
”I didn’t need anyone. I didn’t want for anything. But tonight, sitting across the way and watching Ari and her new friends laugh and talk, while she avoided my gaze… I wanted. I wanted her, and I wanted her to fucking want me back. It was senseless and inconvenient, and yet, I couldn’t deny it.”
So yah totally unexpected but I couldn’t put this shit down 😂😂 I mean I liked this so much I downloaded the bonus content at the very end 😂 I considered reading the first couple books but the only other character I’m interested in is Marcus’ brother Cole so I’ll have to pay attention to see when that releases.
Just one thing though, this book could use a thorough edit because there were quite a few errors and grammatical issues that took me out of the story and I was quite surprised when I realized this isn’t a new author so there should be no reason for so many errors. But regardless, I ate this shit up. 😂

A super hot ONS with a bar tender goes all kinds of wrong, when he shows up in her classroom on the first day of school. This story just had so many micro tropes that completely did it for me:

DNF 53% Meh. Trying to do too much and ends up doing far too little. Nowhere near as entertaining of an antihero as some of the other books. Reverse age gap professor-student bully romance, plus sports romance, plus biker romance, plus false identity girl on the run trope. Like just pick 1 or 2 of those and do them well, please! 🙏

***ARC Review***
Okay, I mean technically I guess this isn’t really an ARC review anymore. I got sent the book August 6th and fully planned to finish it the weekend before its release on August 20th but obviously that didn’t happen. I had to force myself to finish this, like it was bad. I think I read four other KU books while trying to finish this?
So this was a major let down, after the last two books in the series were solid four stars I was really excited for Marcus to finally get his time to shine. Was he my favorite character? No. But I love their weird friend group and how psychotic they all are so I was looking forward to more crazy. I was even more excited for a teacher/student relationship.. hot. Unfortunately I absolutely hated this book until about 60-65% through and then it was just tolerable.
I didn’t care for Arianna at all. I sympathized with her past but she was so fucking annoying. An age gap of four years isn’t really an age gap babes. I also don’t fucking understand how Ari and Marcus fell in love when they knew absolutely nothing about each other. I’m not an insta lust girlie, I hate when romance isn’t slow burn, and when two strangers are instantly obsessed with one another it just gives me the ick. The fact that she wasn’t in their friend group or didn’t know them from high school or whatever made this just not work for me. I don’t see Arianna fitting in with the ice gods and their girls, it makes no fucking sense.
Marcus also didn’t really have any redeeming qualities until like most of the way through the book? Like I wasn’t fully invested in his story but Mila did this man so dirty. He has a lot of love to give and he should give it to somebody else. I’m sorry Marcus, you deserve better. Also, please, I BEG YOU, find another nickname. Birthday girl or beautiful was so overused I wanted to puke. I don’t understand why the author uses the nicknames 10,000 times in this series.. it drives me insane.
Also nobody real worked through their trauma? Like Arianna, Claire and Lulu were abused for years and suddenly everything was fine after Dale was dead? I don’t know. Like I can’t put my finger on it.. I loved the concept of this book but it was so poorly executed that I couldn’t get on board. I’m fucking stoked to get back to the friend group!! I’m surprised Chase or Tyler don’t get their own story but I guess they are being replaced by the Sinclair brothers? I’m so excited that Selena gets her own story!!!! Brody better treat her like a queen!! And making them step siblings.. hot, hot, hot. Forced proximity baby!!! The teaser sounds so good, I can’t wait!

In my university, if anyone happened to know a student is banging their prof. chaos will erupt lol, the student would be graduating that subject with another professor and said professor would be facing serious consequences inside the campus lol 🙃🙃🙃 And let's not talk about Kenna and that other one, lusting over the students 👀 gurl are you ok? are you ovulating by chance????

Cat and Mouse dark romance - teacher student relationship (all adults - he’s 21, she’s 25). Very spicy. He is very obsessed with her, so see TWs to make sure it’s for you. I found it all together a little more wholesome than I was expecting. It was a good quick read.

ooooHHHH I loved this book! I knew Marcus' book was gonna be at the top for me. This book did not disappoint one little bit. I'm always a big fan of Mila's characters and Marcus was the perfect level of unhinged for me. The storyline is always the perfect amount of spice and suspense. It has perfect pacing so you aren't ever bored you're just flipping those pages with the knowledge that you're loving it.
I get a lot of S Massery vibes from Mila's books and that's perfectly ok with me as Sara is one of my fav authors so it's definitely a compliment.
With that little Brody teaser i'm highly anticipating the next instalment!

3.5⭐️I quite enjoyed this. It kicks off with the MCs meeting in a bar and having a one‑night stand. After FMC Ari sneaks out the next morning, she thinks she’ll never see MMC Marcus again. Wrong 😁 Days later, he strolls confidently into the class she’s teaching 👀😬. She instantly shits herself, realising she’s slept with her own student, then panics, trying to figure out how she’s going to get out of this mess… she’s not. And sooo the stalking and blackmail begin. Marcus is relentless. He’s getting what he wants, whatever it takes, and no is simply not a word he will accept 🤨🤨. On top of that, they both have dark pasts and dodgy family history lurking in the background, ready to blow everything up…
This wasn’t a bad dark hockey read at all. It had the same vibes as the previous books, with an unhinged, obsessed MMC full of the usual you’re mine and you will accept it malarkey. Marcus is kinda sweet and was portrayed as the joker in the previous book, but he’s definitely not joking around in this one 😮💨. He’s been let down a lot and just wants someone to love him for him, not for what he can do. Ari, having escaped a terrible past, is scared to let anyone in — well, not that much, she bangs Marcus within a few hours, but yeah, she’s guarded and has secrets. She did become a little whiny at times, but she was a likeable enough character.
Overall, I was entertained — it truly doesn’t take much 😁🤣This is easily my favourite of the series so far. It’s over the top and a bit cheesy alongside the violence and unhinged moments. The spice is well 😮💨😮💨 there is a lot.

I got the ARC copy early and Absolutely loved Marcus and Ari’s story and loved how he wasn’t who we all thought he was from the prior books. I loved seeing how different he was and learning about his background. Loved how this story developed and the relationship that built between the two. Although Ari did make me mad but not telling him the truth but I understand why she didn’t. Loved the steamy parts too. I definitely enjoyed and recommend this one

Mila, step to the front please. Wicked Ends was everything and more. It said bully I said sign me up! I knew Marcus was going to be an amazing morally grey mmc. He is absolutely insane and I love it. Ari is such a sweet soul, she deserves the world. The game the two played with each other was so entertaining. Ari thought she could take on Marcus and boy did she learn the hard way. Well I will say she did try but it didn’t work out 😂😂. We didn’t have wait for the spicy it’s was given to us a few chapters in. 🥵🥵 I knew Marcus would bring the heat. The first half of the book laid the groundwork for what was to come in the second half. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen next but nope.Marcus and Ari each had their own past trauma to deal with and they were able to help each other and come out on the other side better together. I’m glad both of them got their happily ever after.During the book there were some crumbs dropped in regard to our next mmc. I looking forward to the next book.

I lowered my knees to the floor and cupped her face. Her eyes slipped open, giving me a slice of my favorite view in the world.
Possibly my least favorite of the series so far which is not saying much since I loved them all. I mean this man renovated her dream house for her. I’m not sure a girl could ask for much more.
I was pleasantly surprised by Marcus but at the same time not surprised at all. It always just breaks my heart a little when you finally get the “funny” guy’s book and it’s just a facade and defence mechanism. Marcus thinking he was the easy one and Ari having such low self-image in the beginning made me so upset.
This was just such a good book and conclusion to the OG Ice Gods (despite how obnoxious their nickname is). I honestly can’t tell you how excited i am for the fifth book. Selena and Brody?? Give it to me now. Selena grew on me a lot, especially in Twisted Deeds and all i can say is that I’m a sucker for the mean girl but incredibly insecure type. Like she’s just a girl with feelings! I know I’m going to have to wait forever for her book but I have a feeling she’s going to be my favourite fmc.
Also side note: I was so obsessed with Marcus and Asher’s friendship. Throughout the series as a whole, the boys felt very independent and capable but I loved how these two relied on each other in their own books. I definitely felt there was a shortage of friendship scenes but that’s okay. A girl can dream.

Not my favorite book from this author but I do love Marcus. Arianna was too in her head and making TSTL decisions, but with her past, it makes sense. I feel like it was more of a 3.5 or 3.75 than a full 4 star read.

Below is a general overview of the series with a mini review of each book read primarily because I read Books 1-4 in a week and don't have time for full individual reviews at the moment. This is likely to change in the near future. However check out my Kindle notes and highlights if you want to know specifically what I liked about each book.
Hellions of Hade Harbor
This is a hockey town and hockey players/the team are the most popular kids in high school, can do no wrong, yadda yadda. And even when they do, it's forgiven because you know…hockey rules! Four of these guys are dubbed Ice Gods and they are the cool kids featured in books 1-4. Subsequent books will branch out to other members of the college hockey team and new/old friends from high school and college. It is also a town with multiple divides, the most obvious being rich and poor who generally don't mingle unless in a service capacity.
Book 1 is mainly set in high school and later books focus on college. However all have flashbacks to the teen's pasts. What makes this series stand out is that both the MMC and FMC characters have 'good' backstories, mostly harrowing and there are interesting side characters that you want to have their own books.
It highlights that people (the teens) generally have their game face on in public and are only willing to share the hard stuff with people they trust or love. And even then, when it is really hard, they tend to face it alone. Additionally, there's also a underlying plot that ties the series together about seedy powerbrokers who run the town.
Please read the trigger warnings for EACH book on the author's website as there may be certain types of abuse which are a hard no. Doing so will make a big difference to how much you enjoy each entry in the Hellions of Hade Harbor series which to varying degrees is : bully romance, enemies to lovers, etc. I have indicated some triggers and this is mainly the ones I remembered.

Naturally I never start with book 1 because why should I read the book in the order that they were written/author recommends. I'm contrary like that. Reading in the published order is helpful but not required.

My reading order: 2, 3, 4, ,1, 2 Had to go back to Eve and Beckett again because too good. And I'm likely to read Asher's book again, just to see Eve and Beckett more secure in their relationship.
Books ranked according to me
Book 2: Dark Delights (Eve and Beckett) - The Billionaire's son and the Cleaner's Daughter. The lonely boy and the jealous girl. I can't love this story more. I have already read it twice in a week.
Beckett's story hurt my heart and I was delighted that he had Eve in his corner even when he didn't really know it. It was obvious to the reader that they were falling in love from when they first met at 13 years old.
Living in Hade Harbour must have been excruciating for Eve, cleaning the homes of her fellow students, waiting on them at the local diner and still not being able to afford new trainers. College is her way out so when her student accommodation is cancelled but her twin brother's isn't, it's just another roadblock to the many in her way to financial sustainability. The dilemma is to share a bedroom with Beckett (arch nemesis) temporarily until the university sorts out their mistake. Asher is an Ice God and his shared room wasn't cancelled when he transferred to an alternative school, whereas hers was by mistake. Guy and girl sharing a room . It was inevitable there would be clashes and differences of opinion.
Four stars because the frequent miscommunication, jumping to conclusions, mix up of the bedroom, Asher leaving to give them room to develop their relationship was necessary but contrived

Imagine your crush being able to come into your room and actually fulfil your wildest desires? This is a true enemies to lovers and I was here for it until

Book 3: Twisted Deeds (Winter and Asher) The Ice Queen and the Poor Boy
Winters story showed that you could be rich/have all your material needs met yet still yearn for love because they are not the same things at all. Her parents are absent and she is drifting, isolated from peers. Asher comes from a loving family, Eve is his twin. However his mum is a single parent and it's a struggle to make ends meet. He has a rich family life and tight knit friendship group but relies on a scholarship and part time job to fund his dream of hockey stardom.

Book 4 Wicked Ends (Ari and Marcus) The Professor the Joker
This was probably my least favourite which was surprising as I liked Marcus as the jokester and games master in previous books. His book showed us that his past was hard like the rest, father in prison, brother leader of a motorcycle club and him trying to fit hockey into a life with competing demands. In walks his one night stand who's now his substitute professor. Ari is on the run from a past that she doesn't want to catch up with her. She doesn't think that she deserves love and definitely not with her student. I didn't really gel with Ari and found the plot in this book the least compelling as it was crossing over with the MC and she wasn't trying that hard to hide from her brother. Inexplicably Marcus was suddenly this Jekyll and Hyde character who worked part time for the club as well as the bar, could transport illegal packages and was familiar with using a gun. I appreciate that people can be more than one thing but come on. What also put me off was

Selena on the surface was this mean bitchy high school cheerleader who at a guess would probably peak in high school and then have a life of regret, reminiscing of when she was popular and powerful . But seeing more of her in Book 3 as Winter's frenemy you know that she's also had a difficult home life and her recent college experience was distressing. Brody is this mouthy British hockey player in the local league against the Hellions and now Selena's stepbrother. His past is tangled up with Daddy issues. So looking forward to both of them getting their HEA

Damn, I have no idea what to do with my thoughts here! I’m really spilt on this one, but I honestly couldn’t tell you why. It has all the right tropes, the writing was well done, the story was interesting and there was a good level of spice to story. But somehow it just fell flat for me. This could be because I am a huge mood reader and perhaps I just wasn’t quite feeling dark enough?
Until about 80% in, I didn’t like Marcus. I found him too harsh, too obsessive without knowing anything about Arianna. Then it switched, he became a different man - still obsessive and controlling, but also sweet and desperate to save her. It was around this time I no longer liked Arianna though! She would not let him in and kept going on about the age gap of 5yrs like she was vastly older than him. I actually wanted a bigger age gap from all the complaining she was doing.
I wanted a bit more of a deep connection between these two. At times it felt very forced, and they hardly had any conversations about who they were as people so how did they even get to know each other? Having said that they seemed connected on other levels and didn’t NEED to know the other to know they loved them. Which messed with my romance loving head because it didn’t feel very romantic!
I love a dark romance and all the red flags and stalking that goes with them, but this just didn’t grab me in the way I was expecting. I don’t really have many complaints though because the story was great! I just didn’t connect with it. But, again, I also highlighted loads of lines I liked! I felt more connection in the last 10% than in the whole book which frustrates me but what I did feel left me with a nice feeling about the book - hence the all over the place review.

This dark fast paced sports romance pulls you in from the first chapter. And when I say fast paced I don’t mean the storyline as a whole was fast paced but more of the characters getting together right off the bat and us not having to wait for the all consuming tension to start.

I loved how the author just throws us head first into the deep end with Marcus & Ari’s story.
Marcus Bailey is an obsessive hero who falls first and hard for Arianna Moore, who is also his music teacher. Their teacher/student dynamic adds intensity, secrecy, and forbidden tension that keeps you constantly hooked.
Marcus really embodies the ultimate touch her and die protector but blurs the lines between devotion for his women and just unhinged obsession. His stalking, tracking, drugging, and all consuming obsession for his “birthday girl” iykyk.. brings out plenty of red flags that make him impossible to resist as your next ultimate morally grey book boyfriend.
The author really sets us up for more to come and I cannot wait. I’m in love with everyone in this universe and never want it to end. And Cole!!! I need that man like I need air. Just know the author automatically makes you want more with each book in this series.

This dark fast paced sports romance pulls you in from the first chapter. And when I say fast paced I don’t mean the storyline as a whole was fast paced but more of the characters getting together right off the bat and us not having to wait for the all consuming tension to start.

I loved how the author just throws us head first into the deep end with Marcus & Ari’s story.
Marcus Bailey is an obsessive hero who falls first and hard for Arianna Moore, who is also his music teacher. Their teacher/student dynamic adds intensity, secrecy, and forbidden tension that keeps you constantly hooked.
Marcus really embodies the ultimate touch her and die protector but blurs the lines between devotion for his women and just unhinged obsession. His stalking, tracking, drugging, and all consuming obsession for his “birthday girl” iykyk.. brings out plenty of red flags that make him impossible to resist as your next ultimate morally grey book boyfriend.
The author really sets us up for more to come and I cannot wait. I’m in love with everyone in this universe and never want it to end. And Cole!!! I need that man like I need air. Just know the author automatically makes you want more with each book in this series.

Oh I do love a reverse age gap and this book was it👏🏼
This book follows Arianna who moves to Hade Harbour for a fresh start. On the night of her birthday she decides to go to a local bar and this is where she meets a bartender by the name of Marcus. To say the pairs interest was piqued by one another would be and understatement and as such it escalated quickly resulting in them spending the night together 🤭
Arianna reluctantly snuck out the next morning and I mean it when I say reluctantly because she couldn’t deny the pull she felt towards Marcus. Arianna didn’t realise that she would be in fact seeing Marcus sooner than expected. Arianna had just begun her job at HHU as the music professor and she was in for quite the shock when Marcus (aka one of the ice gods) strolled into her class.
Arianna was running from her past and she intended to keep things professional with Marcus but this certainly didn’t last. Marcus also felt a pull towards Arianna and he would do everything in his power to make her his, even if some of those methods may be slightly unethical. Safe to say the man was possessive as ever 👀. Their game of cat and mouse was most certainly interesting and entertaining.
Overall I loved this book- the banter and chemistry between the pair was impeccable and the twists and turns kept me intrigued and turning those pages.

Marcus is the star goalie for the Hellions, while Ari is the new music professor. When Marcus walks into Ari’s classroom, she realises that he is the more than the bartender from the previous night. Ari has been through so much in her life, and she is stronger and independent because of it, while Marcus is possessive and knows what he wants.
No spoilers, this is a must read for all lovers of a dark romance.
This is a well written, emotionally charged story, with found family, friendships, boundaries, teacher / student, forbidden, enemies / lovers, stalking, reverse age gap, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, twisted, and unpredictable, small town dark sports romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Wicked Ends is the fourth book in the Hellions of Hade Harbor series, but it can be read as a standalone.
Marcus and Ari had a one-night stand. He didn’t want her to leave, but she did. And they saw each other again in class…with her being his professor.
With Mila Kane, I know I’m going to get an unhinged MMC, and that’s exactly how Marcus was. He was OTT jealous and possessive, but he was also kind of sweet? He did have a dark streak, but he was also very protective.
And Ari. She did her best to resist, but she couldn’t deny her attraction or feelings for Marcus. She was also so strong to go through what she did.
There was tension, a smidge of angst, suspense, and spice. (Seriously, these two were filthy.) This was a great addition to the series, and I can’t wait for the next book.

I am absolutely obsessed with Mila Kane !!!
These books have me in a chokehold !!
If you like the legacy of gods series but would like it to have the added bonus of a hockey romance YOU WILL LOVE THIS !!!
Absolutely crazy story but if these boys are one thing then persistent !!! They have drive and passion not only for hockey but for their newly found love !
This book had the added element of forbidden love between a Professor x Student (25/20)
I loved it not just because it’s forbidden and she is plus size, no, but that was also absolutely fire !!
My heart broke from Ari’s backstory and I am so glad she found a happy ending ! As well as Marcus backstory I can’t imagine the pressure he must have felt to be under.

better than expected
This was better than I was expecting.
I’m usually a little grossed out by teacher/student entanglements but this was an about to be 21 male student with a 25 year old female professor so it was considerably less icky. I actually love how Ari and Marcus first meet, and how they meet again after their night together and realize who each other is .
There’s real chemistry between the two characters and it makes for a very enjoyable push and pull between them. There are other things going on in the story — Ari fleeing from an abusive past, Marcus and his dreams but also his ties to the MC— all of which keep things interesting. I now kind of regret not reading books 1-3 before jumping into book 4 with this one, but in reality this would work fine as a standalone.
