Arianna Moore is starting over and new to Hade Harbor. On a whim she goes for a celebratory drink at The Clutch, meeting Marcus Bailey, a bartender.
Both Ari and Marcus were a little bit broken by the life they’ve lived. Likewise, each felt unworthy of love and happiness. Recognizing a kindred spirit in one another, they were inexplicably drawn together. Their love story wasn’t easy, but it was dark and perfect.
“Scars are beautiful. They tell a story. Your story… and it’s fucking fascinating, birthday girl, just like you.”
Let me be clear, Marcus is my favorite Hellion and, IMHO, this is the best book in the series so far. Does it have anything to do with Marcus being unhinged and next-level OTT J/P? The red flags raining down like confetti? Yes. Yes, it does! I’m a simp for a MMC who is relentless in his pursuit, with no fcuks to give and Marcus satisfies. Wink. Wink.

Whenever I crack open a book from Mila Kane, I know I need to buckle up. That was definitely the case here with Ari and Marcus. They start with a wild night on Ari's birthday, before they know one another fully, and it keeps thrumming most of the way through.
There are lots of strings and road blocks to them being together. She's a music professor at his college, they both have family drama, she's kinda on the run, their relationship is forbidden, but Marcus doesn't see these as normal obstacles. He is gonna bust right through it all.
When he discovers she gets hot by some of the games he plays, Ari better watch out, because this man is relentless. She's never had someone pursuing her this way before, and even though she is five years older than him (he's 20/she's 25), that's not enough to restrain him.
I was really sucked into their romance and I loved how obsessed he became with her so soon. I always love that shit! But I do think that it drug on too long. Especially because there was a very compelling suspense element and a heavy family drama (on both their sides) to work through. I think Ari could have been less resistant quicker, so there was more room for the final act.
Overall, this was another banger and I really enjoy all the stories I get from Mila Kane. I can't wait for who's next.

Me reading MF romance was NOT on my bingo card for this year but here we are. This book stalked me relentlessly on instagram until I finally caved and picked it up. When I used to read this genre I always loved reverse age gap teacher/student romances and it appears I still do. Ari and Marcus were fire 🔥 from the moment they met and I couldn’t get enough. This book says it’s a bully trope but I don’t agree with that really. Marcus was a jealous possessive guy who wouldn’t take no for an answer after these two have a one night stand but Ari wanted him and liked the games they played so I felt everything was consensual the entire time despite some of the things that happened. My favorite part of this book was that Marcus fell first for Ari and fell hard. I didn’t read other books in this series but I could tell that his reaction to Ari wasn’t the norm for him and despite how hard he fought it, it was his battle to lose.
”I didn’t need anyone. I didn’t want for anything. But tonight, sitting across the way and watching Ari and her new friends laugh and talk, while she avoided my gaze… I wanted. I wanted her, and I wanted her to fucking want me back. It was senseless and inconvenient, and yet, I couldn’t deny it.”
So yah totally unexpected but I couldn’t put this shit down 😂😂 I mean I liked this so much I downloaded the bonus content at the very end 😂 I considered reading the first couple books but the only other character I’m interested in is Marcus’ brother Cole so I’ll have to pay attention to see when that releases.
Just one thing though, this book could use a thorough edit because there were quite a few errors and grammatical issues that took me out of the story and I was quite surprised when I realized this isn’t a new author so there should be no reason for so many errors. But regardless, I ate this shit up. 😂

A super hot ONS with a bar tender goes all kinds of wrong, when he shows up in her classroom on the first day of school. This story just had so many micro tropes that completely did it for me:

✅ Heroine in peril
✅ He falls first
✅ Sports romance
This was a well written, emotionally charged story with plenty of action. It was a fantastic read that I completed in one sitting - I just couldn't put it down! The character development was phenomenal and I can't wait to get the next story. I'm REALLY hoping Marcus's brother gets his own story (and maybe even the whole MC). This one is definitely in the faves of 2025 pile!

***ARC Review***
Okay, I mean technically I guess this isn’t really an ARC review anymore. I got sent the book August 6th and fully planned to finish it the weekend before its release on August 20th but obviously that didn’t happen. I had to force myself to finish this, like it was bad. I think I read four other KU books while trying to finish this?
So this was a major let down, after the last two books in the series were solid four stars I was really excited for Marcus to finally get his time to shine. Was he my favorite character? No. But I love their weird friend group and how psychotic they all are so I was looking forward to more crazy. I was even more excited for a teacher/student relationship.. hot. Unfortunately I absolutely hated this book until about 60-65% through and then it was just tolerable.
I didn’t care for Arianna at all. I sympathized with her past but she was so fucking annoying. An age gap of four years isn’t really an age gap babes. I also don’t fucking understand how Ari and Marcus fell in love when they knew absolutely nothing about each other. I’m not an insta lust girlie, I hate when romance isn’t slow burn, and when two strangers are instantly obsessed with one another it just gives me the ick. The fact that she wasn’t in their friend group or didn’t know them from high school or whatever made this just not work for me. I don’t see Arianna fitting in with the ice gods and their girls, it makes no fucking sense.
Marcus also didn’t really have any redeeming qualities until like most of the way through the book? Like I wasn’t fully invested in his story but Mila did this man so dirty. He has a lot of love to give and he should give it to somebody else. I’m sorry Marcus, you deserve better. Also, please, I BEG YOU, find another nickname. Birthday girl or beautiful was so overused I wanted to puke. I don’t understand why the author uses the nicknames 10,000 times in this series.. it drives me insane.
Also nobody real worked through their trauma? Like Arianna, Claire and Lulu were abused for years and suddenly everything was fine after Dale was dead? I don’t know. Like I can’t put my finger on it.. I loved the concept of this book but it was so poorly executed that I couldn’t get on board. I’m fucking stoked to get back to the friend group!! I’m surprised Chase or Tyler don’t get their own story but I guess they are being replaced by the Sinclair brothers? I’m so excited that Selena gets her own story!!!! Brody better treat her like a queen!! And making them step siblings.. hot, hot, hot. Forced proximity baby!!! The teaser sounds so good, I can’t wait!

DNF 53% Meh. Trying to do too much and ends up doing far too little. Nowhere near as entertaining of an antihero as some of the other books. Reverse age gap professor-student bully romance, plus sports romance, plus biker romance, plus false identity girl on the run trope. Like just pick 1 or 2 of those and do them well, please! 🙏

Cat and Mouse dark romance - teacher student relationship (all adults - he’s 21, she’s 25). Very spicy. He is very obsessed with her, so see TWs to make sure it’s for you. I found it all together a little more wholesome than I was expecting. It was a good quick read.

ooooHHHH I loved this book! I knew Marcus' book was gonna be at the top for me. This book did not disappoint one little bit. I'm always a big fan of Mila's characters and Marcus was the perfect level of unhinged for me. The storyline is always the perfect amount of spice and suspense. It has perfect pacing so you aren't ever bored you're just flipping those pages with the knowledge that you're loving it.
I get a lot of S Massery vibes from Mila's books and that's perfectly ok with me as Sara is one of my fav authors so it's definitely a compliment.
With that little Brody teaser i'm highly anticipating the next instalment!

I got the ARC copy early and Absolutely loved Marcus and Ari’s story and loved how he wasn’t who we all thought he was from the prior books. I loved seeing how different he was and learning about his background. Loved how this story developed and the relationship that built between the two. Mila, step to the front please. Wicked Ends was everything and more. It said bully I said sign me up! I knew Marcus was going to be an amazing morally grey mmc. He is absolutely insane and I love it. Ari is such a sweet soul, she deserves the world. The game the two played with each other was so entertaining. Ari thought she could take on Marcus and boy did she learn the hard way. Well I will say she did try but it didn’t work out 😂😂. We didn’t have wait for the spicy it’s was given to us a few chapters in. 🥵🥵 I knew Marcus would bring the heat. The first half of the book laid the groundwork for what was to come in the second half. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen next but nope.Marcus and Ari each had their own past trauma to deal with and they were able to help each other and come out on the other side better together. I’m glad both of them got their happily ever after.During the book there were some crumbs dropped in regard to our next mmc. I looking forward to the next book.

From the previous books, I never expected Marcus to have so much depth, but wow, was I wrong. He’s morally grey, a little unhinged, and so intensely possessive that I couldn’t get enough. And Ari… my heart just aches for her. She’s a survivor through and through, and easily one of my favorite FMCs in Mila’s universe.🖤
Their chemistry? Off-the-charts.
The plot? Absolutely gripping.
And those little glimpses we got of the MC? I’m so excited to read their story! 📚

I lowered my knees to the floor and cupped her face. Her eyes slipped open, giving me a slice of my favorite view in the world.
Possibly my least favorite of the series so far which is not saying much since I loved them all. I mean this man renovated her dream house for her. I’m not sure a girl could ask for much more.
I was pleasantly surprised by Marcus but at the same time not surprised at all. It always just breaks my heart a little when you finally get the “funny” guy’s book and it’s just a facade and defence mechanism. Marcus thinking he was the easy one and Ari having such low self-image in the beginning made me so upset.
This was just such a good book and conclusion to the OG Ice Gods (despite how obnoxious their nickname is). I honestly can’t tell you how excited i am for the fifth book. Selena and Brody?? Give it to me now. Selena grew on me a lot, especially in Twisted Deeds and all i can say is that I’m a sucker for the mean girl but incredibly insecure type. Like she’s just a girl with feelings! I know I’m going to have to wait forever for her book but I have a feeling she’s going to be my favourite fmc.
Also side note: I was so obsessed with Marcus and Asher’s friendship. Throughout the series as a whole, the boys felt very independent and capable but I loved how these two relied on each other in their own books. I definitely felt there was a shortage of friendship scenes but that’s okay. A girl can dream.

Not my favorite book from this author but I do love Marcus. Arianna was too in her head and making TSTL decisions, but with her past, it makes sense. I feel like it was more of a 3.5 or 3.75 than a full 4 star read.

Damn, I have no idea what to do with my thoughts here! I’m really spilt on this one, but I honestly couldn’t tell you why. It has all the right tropes, the writing was well done, the story was interesting and there was a good level of spice to story. But somehow it just fell flat for me. This could be because I am a huge mood reader and perhaps I just wasn’t quite feeling dark enough?
Until about 80% in, I didn’t like Marcus. I found him too harsh, too obsessive without knowing anything about Arianna. Then it switched, he became a different man - still obsessive and controlling, but also sweet and desperate to save her. It was around this time I no longer liked Arianna though! She would not let him in and kept going on about the age gap of 5yrs like she was vastly older than him. I actually wanted a bigger age gap from all the complaining she was doing.
I wanted a bit more of a deep connection between these two. At times it felt very forced, and they hardly had any conversations about who they were as people so how did they even get to know each other? Having said that they seemed connected on other levels and didn’t NEED to know the other to know they loved them. Which messed with my romance loving head because it didn’t feel very romantic!
I love a dark romance and all the red flags and stalking that goes with them, but this just didn’t grab me in the way I was expecting. I don’t really have many complaints though because the story was great! I just didn’t connect with it. But, again, I also highlighted loads of lines I liked! I felt more connection in the last 10% than in the whole book which frustrates me but what I did feel left me with a nice feeling about the book - hence the all over the place review.
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed her writing style and the way she worded certain things. The fluffy part of Marcus was adorable! I will read from her again in the future!

This dark fast paced sports romance pulls you in from the first chapter. And when I say fast paced I don’t mean the storyline as a whole was fast paced but more of the characters getting together right off the bat and us not having to wait for the all consuming tension to start.

The author really sets us up for more to come and I cannot wait. I’m in love with everyone in this universe and never want it to end. And Cole!!! I need that man like I need air. Just know the author automatically makes you want more with each book in this series.

Oh I do love a reverse age gap and this book was it👏🏼
This book follows Arianna who moves to Hade Harbour for a fresh start. On the night of her birthday she decides to go to a local bar and this is where she meets a bartender by the name of Marcus. To say the pairs interest was piqued by one another would be and understatement and as such it escalated quickly resulting in them spending the night together 🤭
Arianna reluctantly snuck out the next morning and I mean it when I say reluctantly because she couldn’t deny the pull she felt towards Marcus. Arianna didn’t realise that she would be in fact seeing Marcus sooner than expected. Arianna had just begun her job at HHU as the music professor and she was in for quite the shock when Marcus (aka one of the ice gods) strolled into her class.
Arianna was running from her past and she intended to keep things professional with Marcus but this certainly didn’t last. Marcus also felt a pull towards Arianna and he would do everything in his power to make her his, even if some of those methods may be slightly unethical. Safe to say the man was possessive as ever 👀. Their game of cat and mouse was most certainly interesting and entertaining.
Overall I loved this book- the banter and chemistry between the pair was impeccable and the twists and turns kept me intrigued and turning those pages.

Arianna is on the run and looking for a fresh start in Hade Harbor as the new music teacher at HHU. She has an intense one-night stand with a bartender at the local MC club bar, but she is in for the biggest shock when he ends up being one of her students.
Marcus is the star goalie for the hockey team, and he is also trying to put distance between him and his brother’s motorcycle club. He is very alpha and becomes super obsessed with Arianna. He is willing to do whatever it takes to make her his woman, no matter how hard she tries to push him away (stalking, blackmailing, handcuffing, drugging).

With Mila Kane, I know I’m going to get an unhinged MMC, and that’s exactly how Marcus was. He was OTT jealous and possessive, but he was also kind of sweet? He did have a dark streak, but he was also very protective.
And Ari. She did her best to resist, but she couldn’t deny her attraction or feelings for Marcus. She was also so strong to go through what she did.
There was tension, a smidge of angst, suspense, and spice. (Seriously, these two were filthy.) This was a great addition to the series, and I can’t wait for the next book.

I was told about this book when I received a new list of ARCs to apply for and I had to get my hands on it, even though I had not read any of the books in the series. I was hooked from the start! I needed to know more. Ari and Marcus, they rock! I have to admit I was scared, as I misread and thought we were in a high school rather than college setting. Once I learned it was college I was okay. There is a lot of action and mentions about her history, which is why I had to keep reading. I looked up the author on Amazon and Goodreads, and learned she ends her stories with HEA, so I was not worried.

Ari, our sweet little pianist full of secrets, scars and low self-esteem thanks to her messy family, is also quietly badass, and fiercely protective of the people she loves. Although, at times I did feel like shaking her when she dragged her heels because lady, this man is serving himself on a silver platter, so go and claim your prize.
The tension, emotions, and chemistry will have you hooked from the very first page. Marcus’s obsession with Ari, his determination, and his filthy mouth… it’s the perfect mix of heart and heat. I knew this was gonna be good and right up my alley when I read the prologue. Ari was just minding her business trying to hide from her past when Marcus happens. After their one night extravaganza he becomes utterly obsessed with her- and slightly unhinged. Ari does the morning walk of shame-because we know Marcus isn’t the kinda guy for a repeat performance. But since he’s fixated on Ari, it doesn’t go unnoticed that she’s “rejected” him. To make matters worse, well for Ari, she finds out she’s his new professor. This amps up the star goalie and his antics. So now Ari is dodging her past and Marcus. Feels like a recipe for disaster in the most delicious way.
I can’t wait to read about the next hero in the Hellion Series.

ooohhhhh Marcus was my FAVORITE through all the books. This was kind of disappointing. It was alright, but coming off of Ash's story this was a let down. I am however, very interested in his brother's story which is the next book 👀
There were so many spelling errors and inconsistencies in this book - almost like it was rushed and not proof read, at all. Womp
For example, the very first chapter where he put her panties in her mouth, but then they have a full on conversation 😑. Or where it very explicitly says she wasn't wearing panties but then his fingers brush her panties 😐
Rinse and repeat through the whole book. I guess maybe the author was really confused about the state of the FMC's underwear 🤷♀️
