The past has a powerful hold on Mitch, but meeting Isaac makes him desperate for a future filled with love.
Isaac is desperate to break into the world of fashion design and be seen as something more than just an airhead model with no imagination. Set to debut his new collection, he has the models, the clothes. All he needs is a location, and he turns to an industry trouble-shooter for help.
Mitch’s latest client needs an exotic location for a model shoot, and he happens to know someone with the very thing—Sapphire Cay. What starts as just another job turns out to be more exhilarating than winning any multi-million-dollar contract, particularly when he connects with Isaac again, who is far from the airhead model he presented as. As the fashion shoot gets underway, Mitch has to contend with complicated feelings for his old flame, Dylan, and the growing love he has for Isaac.

This was just ok for me. It was insta-attraction, followed by obsession after a few hours, then love. Really? The writing itself was fine, but the story and character development was not for me. On the good side, there wasn't drama for drama sake. I was waiting for the MCs to have a big misunderstanding at the end which would cause them to yell and break up but then have a magical reunion. Thankfully that didn't happen.
I don't understand why Mitch was suddenly obsessed with Isaac. They slept together once, Mitch thought he was a high price hooker paid for by the company ( :O !!) and left a "tip" on the table as he snuck out. And yet he keeps thinking about Isaac. Why? They didn't talk to each other during their all night fuck fest so then Mitch's attraction and obsession with Isaac is all superficial.
Anyway, I think this could have worked so much better as a short story, maybe 20 pages, because honestly I didn't need all that extra fluff mixed in. At 20 pages this could have been a rockin good 5 stars I betcha.
Isaac Bailey wants to transition from being a hot model into fashion design. He convinces his father to let him design the family's summer collection and they bring in the big guns to help with the photo shoot and marketing because this debut has to be perfect. Mitch Stone was hired and he had the perfect location in mind, Sapphire Cay, the island that his former lover Dylan bought and moved to in Follow The Sun.
While on the island, Mitch found out that Dylan was now engaged to Lucas and it didn't hurt as much as Mitch thought. that was because something about Issac was captivating Mitch. Their instant connection was noticed by almost everyone but career expectations was a hindrance, especially with Issac being a client. Are they willing to risk their careers, or will the island affair continue after they leave Sapphire Cay?
What I liked was that Issac was kind and giving and patient, qualities Mitch really needed and Issac made Mitch smile. Mitch was kind of living in a funk, and Issac was the ray of sunshine he needed. The authors really keep the angst to a minimum and just keep the romance simple. If you are looking for a light and sweet read, this series is for you. You will be relaxed and smiling the whole time you read this book.
I really enjoy this series. It's like receiving a lovely little gift each time a new book is released. What makes it appealing, at least for me, is the familiarity of the setting - who can resist a gorgeous tropical island? - and also the chance to get little glimpses of characters we've met before. Plus I always like the pairing of the men in the story.
In Capture the Sun, it's the turn of Mitch and Isaac to find love. They meet at a party and have a sizzling encounter, but a case of mistaken identity threatens to derail any future they might have. Unable to forget each other, they are shocked to find themselves on an island for a week.
We've met Mitch before. He's the ex-boyfriend of Dylan, who runs the island with his fiance Lucas. For Mitch, the story is about second chances and finding there is someone out there for him. It's about realising there's more to life than business. For Isaac, its about being loved for who he is, being acknowledged as a man in his own right, not just a model or his father's son.
This story combines some hot sex with a sweet story as these men get in touch with their emotions. It's a gentle, read-in-one-sitting kind of book, that leaves you smiling at the happy ending.
This series always gives me book love and this installment did not disappoint. I know what I'm going to get when I read something from Sapphire Cay and my little book vacay to sun, sand and beautiful boys was the perfect escape.
Another happily ever after on Sapphire Cay. Mitch and Isaac meet at a Christmas Party. Assumptions are made based on looks (which is never a good thing) and then they meet up weeks later for a photoshoot on Sapphire Cay.
Isaac is a model turned fashion designer and Mitch is a fixer and Dylan's ex. They reconnect on the island and fall in love. Its a cute story and as always HEA.
You simply cannot go wrong with this series. After all, each book takes place on a secluded Caribbean island and the two protagonists in each book are so handsome and so hot for each other that you can expect all sorts of fireworks, on the beach, in the hotel, around the pool, and, of course, in bed. What is so amazing is that the authors keep coming up with logical excuses to bring the new case to the island, and create enough tension between the two leading characters that it takes time to work it all out.
Not in this one, however. The sexual explosion occurs right up front at a huge business Christmas party where marketing guru and glutton for work Mitchell Stone (the blond on the cover) crosses paths with a business contact whose pregnant wife will eventually go into early labor, sending Mitchell off to replace her husband on a photo shoot on Sapphire Cay. How would Mitch ever know that the adorable, extraordinarily hot, young man whom he thinks is an "escort" at the party and who winds up in his bed that night for a wild ride will turn out to be the client on the shoot?
Isaac Bailey is a 26-year-old former fashion model-turned-fashion designer who is coming out with his first line of clothes for the company owned by his father. How he winds up not only in Mitch's bed, but eventually his heart, is a wonderfully smooth trip around the island, now owned by Dylan Gray, whose father was once Mitch's employer and mentor--and who was also Mitch's last boyfriend. Readers of this series will nod their heads and sprout a smile when they realize that a crucial scene in the first book ("Follow the Sun") involving Dylan, his father (in absentia), and Mitch set the stage for this whole series to exist.
When Mitch and Isaac meet as consultant and client, respectively, on the island, it is the first time they've seen each other since that Christmas party. Neither could have ever imagined that their lives would converge once again in this way. It's a nervous, but eventually mature, Isaac who emerges as the antidote to the skittish and almost guilt-ridden Mitch in a breezy, sweet and very satisfying way. Hope there's another trip to the island in our future!
Note: I have not read any of the Stories From Sapphire Cay series, until this one. I don't know why. I write this review with the full understanding that I may have missed out on some awesome characters, and I did. I will also make sure to get the rest of the books just to satisfy my curiosity that is kicking me in the butt right now....
Capture the Sun is the fifth installment to the series and yet I read it without problems as a stand alone. This is the story of Mitch, the ex of Dylan from Follow The Sun (Stories from Sapphire Cay #1), who finally gets his chance of finding the man who could settle him. The main fault of Mitch was never letting go of his cellphone and business affairs for his motto was "Career First." Quite understandable for a man on a mission to financial greatness but it is not something that a potential partner would consider a bonus. So here is Mitch, on an island his ex and his ex's fiance is at, dealing with a one night stand who turns out to be his boss' son. How will he make it through?
Isaac is a beautiful man. Beautiful enough to make it as a model and succeed. This beauty is also something that tears his credibility down for who could think that a beauty would have brains to match? Isaac is the perfect BBMT - beauty, brains, monied and talented - but no one really sees him as such. Now he not only has to prove he has a brain, he also has to prove that he could be the man for Mitch.
This was such a sweet romance, especially when Mitch kissed Isaac's worries away. The two men had their own issues to deal with and they did deal with them - together - and that just made me smile happily for them both. This does have a fairy tale feel to it though, so is kind of dreamy. Then again, I think dreamy is good, especially when I fall in love with two men I knew nothing about and made me curious enough to pick up the rest of the series.
Mitch was Dylan's ex who also worked for Dylan's estranged dad, and they haven't really been friendly since. Mitch needs a nice island like place for a photo shoot he is working on and Sapphire Cay is perfect. The relationship between Mitch and Dylan was great. There was a bit of forgiveness and moving on that took place, and these guys really became friends again. Isaac was the head of the project from the client side working with Mitch, and they had definite chemistry together. They met prior to the project, and they found they couldn't stay away from each other when they reconnected. I liked their story.
So happy Mitch got his HEA. Isaac and Mitch meet again after having a hookup and Isaac being mistaken for an escort. Sapphire Cay has a certain magic and it worked for these two!
Hard-ass, workaholic Mitch Stone -Dylan's ex, is now getting his chance. Picks up right in between Christmas at the Cay with Mitch's drunken phone call to Dylan. Mitch has a holiday encounter that leaves him wanting more but he doesn't even know where to begin. We see his utter and total arrogance at that party and that encounter and you are between hating him just a bit and wanting to hug and fix him and his loneliness.
Two months later, a job on the Cay with a bunch of models and a designer-ex model and life serves Mitch a second chance. Isaac is just what he needs. He can't get him out of his head, Isaac is blown away and enraptured by Mitch as well. The Cay is the perfect backdrop for this love story and Mitch does what he's needed to do all along, give love a chance. His workaholic change is definitely not as dramatic as Lucas, but he begins to understand why Business first is not the best motto when faced with Isaac on a tropical island.
Love the Cay family, love the new characters, can't wait for more!
Another lovely warm fuzzy read from Sapphire Cay - so want to visit! Mitch and Isaac have a stellar no names Christmas hook up and then 2 months later, have to work together. Whilst the spark is still there neither is sure if a relationship - even for a week on the cay - is a good idea. Nothing angsty, nothing starling but a lovely sweet read. Enjoyed on a stormy afternoon!
Meh, this one was just another cute story. Nothing really stood out. I didn't connect with the guys so I didn't care much about them so it all seemed kind of Bleh. It was a quick read so there's a plus!
I was given a copy of the book to do a guest review for The Blogger Girls. I have posted the Link to the review on my blog. so click it and you'll get to both sites.
Another sweet love story from Sapphire Cay, this time involving Mitch, an ex of Dylan's and a former model. When they need to move a photo shoot to a tropical island what better place than Dylan's island?
