I have since written 5 MM smutty romance stories under the pen name- AJ Ridges and I plan to continue to write even more.

This is a great short read.
If you want a quick fun hot little read this is it!
Personally, I just wish it had been a full length book! I certainly think, given the history/backstory and glimpse at world building we got, and the quality of writing it could certainly have been a lot longer and given a lot more character and story development and been an excellent full length novel.
So that would be my only complaint really - just because I really wanted more from Ally and Ryker. As characters they were both engaging and I wanted to know more.
Ally thinks Ryker hates her, whereas Ryker knows Ally is his mate but is too scared to claim her, thinking her will hurt her.
"Ally was his weakness and the only way he could resist her was to avoid her, a tactic which Ryker had mastered over the past year. When Ryker couldn't avoid her, he argued with her - anything to keep her from discovering his true feelings. He was in love with her. It was torture at times to push Ally away, but it was for the best. She was his mate. It was his job to protect her. Even if that meant protecting her from himself…”
But when Ally is asked to do a "demonstration" to help teach the Alphas how to interact with human females when it comes to sex, Ryker struggles to keep his true feelings hidden.
I do have hopes this may turn into a series, with longer length books following, with some of the other pack members that were mentioned here.
I received her other book Homegrown Heroes - Ryan as a R2R and immediately looked to see what else she has published once I had finished that! I was rather disappointed to see only 2 published works! I wanted more! Certainly an author to watch for me given how much I have enjoyed her 2 short novellas. I just hope she starts doing some longer books for me to really get my teeth into!

If you like Hot, Erotic short stories, you gotta' read this one. You'll definitely need a fan to cool off (LOL!!) I've never read anything by this author. I was tickled pink when asked to give my honest opinion. I was quite pleased with it, being a short story. The main characters were engaging (LOL!!), though I would have liked more background on them. The plot was concise. Secondary characters were mentioned, but no further details. I got the impression that this might turn into a trilogy/series. It was adaptable for 30 pages, and the sex scenes, well can I just say "I want one". LOL!!! The idea of shifters being taught how a human female like her sex was a bit humorous, but manageable. Apparently there has been a ban on shifters/human women for having sexual relations. Ally has been chosen to teach what human females like, and how they smell when aroused. Ryker is an alpha wolf who has been denied his mate. During the demo, Ryker protects Ally from the other wolf shifters, and sparks start flying. Needless to say, welcome to the realm of hot, steamy sex scenes. Hopefully we'll be seeing more from the author. Happy Reading!!! Cheers!!

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review by the author. She called it a "short spicy read" and she wasn't kidding!
From the first sentence it left nothing to the imagination but was well written. For such a graphic, erotic tale it was also a good read. The characters were great and there was a clear plot. I wish the book was longer so the story line could be developed further. Ryker, an Alpha, was as expected if you read shifter books and I was left wanting to know more about him. There seemed to be more alphas in this pack which in shifter stories doesn't usually happen. Is there a reason? What will happen to the pack now? Questions, questions......I wonder if there will be a sequel.
If you can handle the heat give this a read!

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This was definitely spicy! I really liked though how author portrAyed female to be curvy and not skinny and athletic. The masturbation in front of all the alphas caught me off guard but reading further seeing these huge tough men brought to their knees from that was pretty fun though

I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review. This was hot and steamy short story. Ryker is an Alpha male who doesn't want to claim his human mate Ally. Ryker has known about his mate for over a year now and willing to protect her from anything and anyone including himself. Ally Benson, an animal behavioral specialist, has wanted Ryker Black from the first time she met him. She can't understand his hostility towards her. When Ally is asked to perform sexually before wolves she thinks it's her chance to finally get Ryker to notice her. Ryker believes this is a bad idea but will follow his Alpha's instructions. Will Ryker admit his feelings? I am hoping that the author continues this series as we were introduced to some characters that I would like to know more about, and I hope that the stories are longer overall this was a good book wish it was longer.

It is about thirty pages long and gets right to the point. I am not sure when or where this story originates from. From what the author says this is her first short story/book. In reading it there seems to be a back-story in the authors’ mind that I would love to see fleshed out in a series. I am not sure if there are books ahead of this one. But as a little novella it is a great glimpse into a PNR/erotica/romance series.
Not going into detail as it is only thirty pages. It is straight up erotica. Give it a go it’s only .99cents!

WOW! You better carry a fire hydrant with you when you read this as it is smouldering hot! I was surprised at the beginning with the sex and then realized it was a dream. The characters, Ryker and Ally actually like each other But don't know how to communicate with each other to believe it. They DO finally in the most Carnal way! The sex shifter/human ban was lifted, Ally was instructed to give a full demo in person to alpha male shifters on how to pleasure women; including masturbation. She didn't want to but did it as it got to show Ryker she was a woman. Needless to say..SHE is a WOMAN, He is a MAN..I feel this book was too quick in the romance dept but the sex dept was a winner. It could have been a little fleshed out more but it was made to be a novella and still a great read overall.

This novella has the potential to be a really good book, however it didn't take long for me to think I had started in the middle of the book and had missed some crucial info. I know being a novella that it can be hard to squeeze in everything, but I don think we need more in the beginning of them meeting for the first time.
There is a masterbation scene along with one sex scene that are both hot, but Ally just doesn't do it for me as a character. The role that she is asked to take for her job in regards to the shifters, something she only half-heartedly protests.
I'm disappointed about the beginning, but overall the book was not that bad.

While short on length, this book is not short on steam! The chemistry between the two main characters was off the charts. I am hoping that this will be the start of a series because we were introduced to several characters that I would love to know more about. A full length book would give more of an opportunity for adequate character development, the one area that I felt this book was weak in. All in all, for a first attempt, I think that this author shows a lot of promise and is someone that I will definitely be adding to my watch list!

I couldn't believe how this one grabbed my attention immediately and never let me go. Wow...hot, Hot, HOT! Yes, it is a short story, but it certainly packs in more heat into those pages than I thought was possible while actually having a storyline. I liked how Ryker was concerned for his mate and feared hurting her with his alpha demands. Ally is a smart, determined, and realistically sized woman that knows what she wants and goes for it. I enjoyed reading this, but I'm really glad it was late at night without my young teenage daughter beside me. That might've been embarrassing! I would gladly read this as a full-length novel. Definitely not for prudes!

After the sex shifter/human ban was lifted, Ally was instructed to give a full demonstration course to alpha male shifter on how to pleasure women. Ryker Black already had his eyes on Ally since they first met, but the ban put him in very "hurting' situation. Ally, on the other hand, had always wanted Ryker on her since their first encounter. Given the situation, she took everything to hook him to her.
I love this book and Ryker as well, no kidding on "spicy"! :)

This novella is an entertaining read. The pace is quick and the plot is creative. As well, the author developed strong individual characters.
Ally Benson is an animal therapist and behaviorist. Ryker Black is an alpha wolf shifter. In order for Ryker’s pack to survive the ban on human/shifter relationships needs to be lifted. The chemistry between Ally and Ryker is strong. Will they give in to their attraction? Will the ban be lifted?
In my opinion, their journey is not over. The author should consider a sequel.

This was a hot little read which I enjoyed. I liked that you dived straight into the story especially as it was a short book. I would have liked for there to have been some background story (such as how Ally came to work for the Institute, Ally and Ryker's meeting, stuff about the pack) instead of just focusing on the whole "you're my mate" bit.

This is an awesome quick read! I liked the writing style and the story. It would have been a great full-length book! The "demonstration" caught me a little off guard... I didn't expect it but wow... hot as hell! The chemistry between Ryker and Ally was off the charts and sex scenes... were steamy! It's the first time reading this author and I'm impressed!

This was decent. It was pretty much only one thing. I would love loved there to been an actuators here, she was the beginnings of an amazing book. It was good and I enjoyed it. I just wish it was more of a story

I loved this book, it was a quick thrill ride with two fantastic main characters that I was able to read about in one sitting- exactly what I needed. I would have absolutely loved for this book to be even a little bit longer however I didn’t think its length detracted from the reading experience. I will defiantly look out for books by this author again.
The main characters are Ally and Ryker, Ally is a researcher of shifters helping them to be able to reintegrate into society whereas Ryker is a shifter desperate not to claim his mate. I loved the prologue which was all in Ryker’s opinion and showed how scared he actually was about claiming his mate and it gave fantastic insight into his character. This was followed through in the rest of the book as we learned more about Ally and her role in the lives of the other shifters. I loved the progression of the relationship between the two main characters, the author expectly wrote this book giving us a detailed back story in order to allow us to support the two characters as a couple.
I don’t feel that the book was long enough to establish any relationships with characters outside of the main characters however I do think that from the small amount they were mentioned the other members of the pack could prove to be interesting and add to our main characters lives.
The pacing was great giving sufficient time to really establish a back story for our main characters before they became a couple. It was fantastic pacing for being such a short book as it was very well thought out giving the characters time to establish personality’s as well as a relationship with each other.
The storyline was similar to other books I’ve read however I was impressed by how well written it was.

This is a short hot paranormal erotica story with weres in it. A pretty quick read if you are in the mood for something short and hot this summer.
We meet Ally Benson that is supposed to be a bit shy and has a secret crush on Ryker.
Ryker is a Alpha that knows Ally is is mate, he is resisting it as best he can but it is a loosing battle.
We jump right into a plot that I find a little bit hard to believe, I see where the author wants to take us but I was a bit like REALLY? Huh.. Hmmmmm. Okay dokey. I decided to roll with the story and like the were looking for his mate thingy going on here. I would have like a bit more back ground though it felt like I read a short from a series that had a couple books out.
The writing was really good, the story itself entertained me and I read it in one sitting. I would like more from this universe, a full book would be good. Between the good doc and the other Alpha, if the author writes that let me know will you!
Overall it was a nice hot read with lots of hot shifter mating sex going on. If you want a quick hot read I would go for it, writing is good I think. I would pick up new stuff from this author in the future.

This is a new to me author that I met on my Shifter love goodreads group. When she put up the offer I had to respond as I so love my shifter romance. So on to what I thought about this book.
At first I was put out when I read the beginning as I like my characters to get to know one another before they do the deed but then it turned out to be a dream sequence so it was okay. And folks that is all I will reveal about Ryker and Ally. I was impressed with what some alphas will do for their packs. You wouldn't have caught me allowing my mate to do such but then I'm particular that way, no I'm not revealing what.
I will tell you that I pointed out 4 editing issues so the author could make sure that it was fixed properly, despite what I found it was well written and had the realism I like to see in the books that I read. It had the passion that you want in a good romance, as well as a good flowing storyline.

Disclaimer Time! I was given a copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest review and I realized right off the bat that I'm not a great one for reviewing this kind of material. Occasionally, I will get a book that is primarily romance with elements of erotica, but this book, due to its short length, was primarily erotica with the story there to support the sex. My problem is that I find the language used in the genre to be rather jarring. I like my sexy sex scenes to be sensual and romantic, often erotic, spicy and dangerous, but I find that it gets a lot dirtier and a lot shocking when it comes to straight up erotica. All that being said...
Kara Swynn wrote a great book within her chosen genre, her ability to come up with fresh ideas wonderful, and I have a hunch that she's going to have a lot of followers! So if you like your erotica to have a strong supporting foundation, BOUND by HER SCENT is the book for you.

This novella is HOT HOT HOT!!!
Both Ally and Ryker are very likable characters. I wanted the story to go on and on just so I could spend more time getting to know them.
It is well written. The author, Kara Swynn, has done an amazing job of delivering the premise in such a way that I buy into it. She's put thought into each detail and delivered it in such a way that it feels natural, never contrived, rushed or skimming over details in effort to get to the sexy parts. It's impressive for such a short novel.
I would like to see this story expanded to a full length book or even a sequel.

Reading the preview of this book just made me want to read more! So the good is that I loved the steamy scenes and the characters were likeable. The bad is that some of the story is so far-fetched (even for a werewolf book) and I wish the characters had been developed so much more. At first I thought I had jumped into the middle of a series because the book just started as if I should already know the characters. They really needed more development and I hope the author will go back and write a prequel. That said, I'm giving it 4 stars because I couldn't stop reading! I read the book in one sitting, and it was very hot. I WANT MORE PLEASE!

This a scorching short story perfect for a lunch break read. It had me hooked from the beginning. With a opening like that, I had to read on. Ally and Ryker are very likeable characters. Because it is a very short story, I would like the story to develop into a series. There is so much potential for a back story with further books with the secondary characters. I would highly recommendation this sweltering book. I received this complimentary copy for a honest review. Thank you Kara Swynn for the opportunity to review this book.

It was a veeeery short read but intense and hot.
There isn't much to say about the characters since the story was too short to even get to know them well enough. Ryke was frustrating as hell with his fears. And I am glad Ally took things into her hands (ahem...quite literally, I'd say) and worked that fear out of him. Really, that wasn't the only thing she got out of him, but let's stay on track.
So, this was a hot fast&hard read.
3.5 stars. Too short to give a higher rating.

Short and sweet, with a good amount of steam. I could have wished for a little more character depth and would have loved to read the build-up from Ryker first seeing his mate to when the story begins, but it's a nice "quicky" for some steamy romance.
Oh, and don't get put off by the first few pages; a real alpha never goes in dry.

I was given a free copy thru the author for my honest review. I love it! It is a short story and hot, sexy, erotic short story. I hate short stories especially well written short stories. I always wish the author at the end was like just kidding here's the rest of the story and it's going to be a series. LOL Ok if you enjoy short erotic stories check this book out it's a great read! The first novella in the new Twin Canyon shifters series is a mesmerizing quick romance. Overall I found the story to be enjoyable and entertaining with promising possibilities for future stories, however it was a little too short to really sink my teeth into, but I will be waiting to read the next one.
