Quick thoughts: Slow moving but cute story of a little nightmare who doesn't know how to be scary. The art is incredible.

Edit 9/9/19: Revisited this, and it has been completed in the years since my last read. My thoughts above hold for the final version, and the destination and full journey of the comic fit well enough.

One of my favourite webcomics of all time! This follows the story of young Ink, who is supposed to become the next Boogey Man. But Ink doesn't want to be scary, doesn't want to give people bad dreams! So he decides to search for the Sandman's help, in the hopes that he'll be able to teach him how to give people nice, soothing dreams.

The drawing style is cute enough to get you beaming for days, and the colour palettes are vibrant without ever coming across as flashy. The character design is also superb, and I found myself sighing of content as I stopped in a certain page to appreciate the art more often than not. The artist, Miyuli, set up a webpage so everyone can read LN, get extra content such as laptop wallpapers or designs of MCs Ink and Jasper when they grow older, info on the cast, and more!

One of my go-to comfort reads. I've already read it three times, and I'm so glad that it's been uploaded here on Goodreads, so I can recommend it to all of you! Look up "Lost Nightmare" on Google, and get lost in the whimsical dreamworld Miyuli brings to life!

The only positive thing I can say about this comic, is that it's pretty-but even still the art isn't terribly dynamic or exciting as you get used to the characters and backgrounds.
Story wise it's a total flop, we're given little motivation for really anything that's happening, and the ending? Like what? There's no explanation no world-building just a boring story.
Characters-You have three main protagonists-Bogeyman (Neil Gaiman's Sandman ripoff) who is a shy whiny pushover without any strength of character. Ink who is a shy whiny pushover without any strength of character. Jasper who is a . . . well you get the idea. There is not a scene with any of these characters where they aren't about to cry.
This is just not worth the read.

This was such a beautiful, perfect little fairy tail. It brought me right back to the dreams and nightmares I had as a young child. The plot is simple, but the emotions and art shine through to create an atmosphere of wonder and just a little bit of fear, just like being a child in a strange new world. I hope there is one day a print version of this so I can share the magic with my own future children.

This was really cute. It moved very slow at first but then sped up the pacing in the last 3 or so chapters. That felt kind of strange to me but it wasn't awful. The ending wasnt as fulfilling as I'd hoped. Overall it was good but it wasn't amazing. The art wad my favourite thing about it.

Average comic at best, it fails to truly grip the reader in an inganging way and ends with many questiones unanswered.
The begining is cute, ur drawn in by the elegant and misty art style that incaptuates the dream like feel to the story and we are as the reader introduced to Inc, a sad little nightmare destant to take the boogeymans place in the nightmare realm one day, however hes not up for it.

now the story is fine, nothing to fancy jet unique enough to be intressting.this however becomes the comics weakpoint, it never ventures beyond the main plot and never exploresother elements of the story. so many questiones are brought up but never answered, who is the hunter? who is doll? what are the twins? whats wrong with jacks eye? what happened to the boogeyman?!?why was inc choosen over who knows how many nightmares? none of these are brought up leaving the reader in the end feeling cheated and fooled.

and with this lack of vareity and worldbuilding and character building the story feels flat, almost like paper cut-outs just moving across the scene with little to no reason of being there and no goals. the story just sorta happens and characters react with no more than "well thats inconveniant".
there is little growth in the end of the story but it comes down to nothing more than everyoen just apologizing to Inc for everything and the story just ending there.

overall the story felt like one big missed oppurtunity to really dabble into the concept of having a world revolv around dreams, it felt less magical and more boring than anything really.

the art style is unique, that i can give the comic. but, jet again just like the story it becomes dull over time and lacks vareity. theres often scenes where the characters feel flat and the composition is odd. the artist never does anything different with their style or tries new angles or colour effects, its just the same through and through till the very end of the comic. take a look att Never Satisfied, an excellent comic that though having a very cartoonish style still manages to deliver beautifull pages with certain pages drasticly shifting the coulurs to visulize the shift in mood of the scene and the artist isnt afraid of daring shots and angles to visualize motion and action. if lost nightmare had tried incoperating these elements to its artsyle it could have been less repetetive and dull.

the characters are alright, nothing special overall and alot of them go through little to no growth leaving the reader wondering why they even were introduced in the first place when they did-and learned nothing.
inc is constantly crying and gets instantly saved in the end, the boogeyman is juts straight up embarassing, jack is confusing since we are told nothing about his past and doll and the the twins are pretty much none-characters with no narative or having any impact. they could have been handled better and been given alot more charactersation cuz in the end the characters feel very incomplete with so many holes.

overall i think this comic is not worth the trouble or time, it feel incomplete and just left me and many more readers feeling cheated att what appeared att first to be a good comic but just ended up being a trash fest.

3/10
