Episode length: Approximately 11,500 words. This episode is Episode Two of Apparatta: The Claiming.
Kennedy Castille writes in a very old house in a very small town. She's been a storyteller for as long as she could scratch down letters on the page, but during her education, the kinds of writing that were praised weren't the kind of stories that filled her idle thoughts. They lacked built men, scorching hot sex, and rip-your-heart-out love stories. So it took Kennedy awhile to believe that her fancies were worthy of the page. But now, when she sits in front of her keyboard with a glass of red wine and closes her eyes, there's no stopping the stories she writes for herself, or her interest in sharing them with her fans -- because every woman deserves a hot hero.
I had asked Ms. Castille on several occasions for a release update via email and Facebook (which she has since taken down) but never received any response. Finally on 7/14, I sent a question on Twitter inquiring when the rest of this book would be out since she said there would be an update by the end of June. I received this answer on 7/19. ---------" I'm .....Nope, that's bitchy, can't say that. It's just... Nope, that's bitchy, can't say that either. #NoUpdatePossible" --------. I am not sure if this means she will never ever finish the book or not. If this was the case then the first part should have been put out as a free read and should not have been charged. After all, it was just 1 chapter. An author that charges for something when they have no intention of ever finishing a book is being rude. While I did enjoy the first part and would have very much liked to read the rest, this type of behavior is very annoying. If Ms Castille does decide to complete the story, I will most definitely be very happy to change my ratings here and at Amazon to 5 star and will apologize at both sites. But unless we hear something soon I am afraid this review will stay.
I gave 4 for the serial but I’d give 1 star for the author. Just wondering what the hell happened to this author. Did she drop off the face of the earth? She gets a book deal and then folds? She had such a good start! Disappointed she still hasn’t come on here to update.
Enjoyed by episodes but was extremely frustrated by the shortness of the length of both stories and the fact that the next installment is not available.
