MACY I’ve just been dumped two weeks before my best friend’s wedding. It gets worse. I’m the maid of honor and my now ex-boyfriend is the groom’s brother and best man.
I’d give anything not to go to this wedding sad and alone.
Enter Wood—charming, life of the party, ladies’ man who could also pass for one of those Greek marble statues—who offers to accompany me as my new fake boyfriend.
The problem is no one will believe someone like him (a hard ten who dates models) would ever be into someone like me (plain, boring, and introverted).
WOOD I’ve been in love with her since we met. Six years of secret pining. But she was taken.
Offering to be her fake boyfriend is either the smartest or dumbest thing I’ve ever done. Scratch that—offering to help her let off some steam in bed while we’re here has to be the most idiotic. This relationship may be fake, but her orgasms are not.
I know I’m not good enough for her—not intelligent enough, not serious enough—but being with her like this is giving me hope.
Maybe she’ll give me a chance, for real. Or maybe she’ll break my heart.
Rae writes romances she hopes will have readers squealing, kicking their little feet one minute and blushing the next. Biscuits and gravy enthusiast. She’d love to travel the world but is also an unapologetic homebody. You can find her under a cozy blanket next to the fireplace at home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, three children, and entirely too large dogs.
It’s such a rarity that I love a sequel even more than the first book (which was also a 5 star read for me), but BRAVO Rae Kennedy 👏👏 You completely blew my expectations out of the water with this book! It covers such deep topics, all handled with grace. I loved the characters and their personalities so much!
From Macy’s self confidence issues after a 6 year relationship with a guy who never valued her to the anxiety surrounding her diabetes, this girl needed a man who’d boost her up and make her his queen. Enter Wood, who’s been sitting patiently in the friend zone for 6 years pining over her. The way he took care of Macy and was always there when she needed him warmed my heart and at times even brought tears to my eyes. He was so kind and gentle with her. 🥹♥️
I said this in my review of the first book, but it rings true once again - this author has a way of writing spicy scenes that fit perfectly into the storyline. I never once felt cringey or like the sexual aspects were overtaking the story. They enhanced the characters and their connection instead of overshadowing it. That’s a tough feat for many authors to accomplish.
I also loved how Livvy and Noah made appearances in this book, and we got to see more of the evolution of their relationship as well. 🫶
This series is my first from Rae Kennedy, but I look forward to reading more from her collection. She’s no doubt a hidden gem indie author. 💎 I hope there’s more to come!
Thank you to NetGalley and Rake Publishing for the opportunity to read this digital ARC. All opinions expressed are my own.
After reading book 1 of the Make Me series I couldn’t wait to read Wood’s story!! Woods is the ultimate golden retriever of MMCs who we have been rooting for since book 1. When the girl he’s loved for years finds herself about to face her recent ex what else do you do but suggest a fake relationship to show the ex that she’s fine without him. Better even!
Macy is just completely oblivious as to how much Woods loves and wants to care for her. Her last relationship was devoid of any true affection and she was never the priority. On top of that, living with Type 1 diabetes has made her think she has to do everything for herself and can’t rely on anyone else.
I absolutely loved these two together. I loved every time Macy or Woods was able to stick it to her awful ex-boyfriend and his awful family. And I especially loved as Woods helped Macy to come into her own sexuality after realizing how much she had been missing out on with her last relationship. I truly smiled and laughed throughout this entire story and highly recommend this book and series!
This eARC was provided by Netgalley for an honest review.
Ahh this was so cute! I love Wood and Macy so much! Totally the story I thought they would be!
Make Me Want It Too is a friends to lovers, fake dating, only one bed romance that will have you swooning! Rae Kennedy did such a wonderful job writing these two for this book. Woods is the wonderful golden retriever type hero who you will immediately swoon over. Macy is such a sweetheart. I adored her! This book was cute, filled with heartwarming moments and definitely had some spicy moments. This story is relatable and totally inspiring. I really enjoyed this read and enjoy Rae Kennedys writing!
I definitely will be continuing to read books from this author, especially if she writes a book for Bex! I definitely recommend this book for all!
This one is absolutely 4.5 for me! I wasn't initially super excited for Wood and Macey but I loved the first book so much I needed to continue the series. These two pleasantly surprised me and I blew through this book in an evening. Wood is a hero I think most of us dream of...a man that's obsessed with his woman and truly worships her. He shows an interest in Macey while facing his own fears for her. Macey's self esteem has been animated by her previous boyfriend so Wood has a lot of work to do but he's reliable enough she does open her heart to trust him and his words. I loved seeing her fall for him through his acts of love both subtle and obvious. While everything happens on a quick timeline they gain the chemistry and have some hot adult time together. I am very curious if there will be more in this series given the surprising twist towards the end.
One thing about me is I’ll be loving a fake dating with a golden retriever man trope.
I loved Wood in the previous book and was so excited when I found out the book was for him and Macy.
The ground work put into the unrequited love in the relationship in the first book set up the pining in this book to be eyes rolling into the back of your head good.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of Macy in the last book but I would die for her now.
This book isn’t as smut heavy as other books but the few scenes that we do get are perfection.
I loved the dynamics between these two, the story itself was addictive and I flew through it like usual. I can’t recommend this book or this author enough. If you are thinking of reading this look up the tw as the FMC has diabetes and there is on page testing, injecting etc..
I was giving an arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Is it just me or is Wood one of the most loveable and charming characters you have ever read? I loved the interactions with him and Macy in book one of the Make Me series as side characters and how it builds the angst and anticipation for their story in this book. Though we didn’t get to know as much about Macy prior to this book, I loved how relatable she is. Her personality is what makes this pairing work so well for me. This story was fun, flirty, with a bit more angst than we saw in Make Me Dream of You. I am obsessed with this found family that Rae Kennedy has created in her “Make Me” world and can’t wait for this interconnected storyline to pick right back up in the next book of the series.
I looooooved Macy & Wood’s story! Since getting to know them as side characters in Make Me Dream of You I was super eager to see their story play out. Wood is such a golden retriever! I love how much he takes care of Macy (in small & big ways) while empowering her as a strong & capable woman. Macy is a badass FMC & she really comes into her own by realizing her worth & value in this book. And Spencer can go to hell. The spicy bits were really good & added to the connection & trust being built between Macy & Wood! Definitely recommend this me for spicy romance readers!
MAKE ME WANT IT TOO - RAE KENNEDY - ARC Honestly one of the best books I've read in a while, I couldn't put it down, I read it start to finish in about 3 hours! It has everything you need in a romance book, it's funny, heartwarming, beautiful. Literally everything you want and expect from a romance. It's quite spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I loved it! Would recommend it to romance readers! It is book two in a series but I never felt as though I missed out on anything by not reading book 1 so can deffo be read as a standalone! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 @rachaelmcreads
Quick Summary: A hot & heavy, fake it till you make it romance
My Review: Make Me Want It Too by Rae Kennedy is book #2 in the Make Me series.
About the Book: For years, Macy has bent over backwards, attempting to accommodate the man she thought she would marry. Unfortunately, he has other ideas. When she is asked to serve in her friend's wedding party, where she is sure to see her ex, she panics. Her long time secret crush steps up, making her a proposal that she cannot refuse.
Question: What happens when a fake relationship and true feelings for your partner in crime turn real?
My Final Say: This novel was certainly entertaining. Essentially, a riches and rags story unfolded. The characters were different than I expected, based on the book's description. I have mixed emotions about the female lead. The male lead was very attentive and incredibly accommodating; I liked him.
Other: Readers who enjoy stories with glow ups, second chances at shooting your shot, very naughty and nice spice, and HEAs will like this book.
Rating: 3.5/5 Recommend: Yes Audience: NA to A Status: M Level: 🌶🌶🌶 Special Note: Diabetic representation, LGBTQIA
Thank you to the author, to the publisher (Rake Publishing), and to NetGalley for granting access to a digital ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own thoughts and opinions. I appreciate the opportunity.

Make me want it too is book 2 in the Make me series by Rae Kennedy. Although there are characters that do overlap it can be read as a standalone book. This is Macy and Wade “Wood” story.
Our FMC, Macy, is a nurse, she also has diabetes and has to constantly monitor her glucose levels, and carry her insulin, which is tough but part of her life. She has just gotten out of a 6 year relationship with her narcissist ex, Spencer. She’s very insecure because of Spencer. But NOW Macy will be in a wedding with Spencer and doesn’t want to go alone or single… Enter Wood.
Wood, is your MMC, add has been secretly pining for Macy since he met her… 6 years ago. Wood is your cinnamon roll / golden retriever character who has wanted Macy for himself and never thought Spencer treated her good. He is the perfect person for Macy. He is caring, attentive, thoughtful, loving and as a side note can’t stand Spencer. Wood is the perfect example of not everything is what you would expect.. Wood appears to be this cocky Playboy but in reality it’s him being in love with Macy and just trying to find someone like her.
I absolutely adored Wood and Macy’s story and I loved how Wood stood up for Macy at every turn. He was what she needed and I was glad to see them get their HEA. My only complaint would be I felt the book was a cut a bit short, would have liked to see a bit more in depth POST WEDDING but overall a solid book from Rae. Thank you to Rae and Next Step pr for the advanced copy.
Meeting both Wood and Macy in book 1 had me excited to finally get their story.
My heart went out to Macy instantly. After ending a 6-year relationship with a guy who never treated her right and was manipulative-it made me sad every time she continued to second guessed herself, feel like a burden and put herself down. Her insecurities did get in her way for a good portion of the book. You can’t help but want Macy to be happy, get everything she deserves and find the strength you know is there.
Wood was the ultimate sweetheart, and boy was he smitten with Macy (had been for years). He was so patient, caring and learned so much for her. After seeing all she went through while with her ex and what he lead her to believe, I liked how hard he worked to show her all the amazing things he saw in her.
These two have been friends for a while, so agreeing to be in a fake relationship for a friends wedding festivities, that Macy’s ex will be at-was an easy decision. They have an adorable connection but fumbled a bit at the start, while hiding their attraction and feelings from one another. I enjoyed watching their relationship and friendship strengthen on a deeper level during all their one-on-one time. They chemistry Wood and Macy had was so great. Although this is a slow burn, the comfort they shared increased the tension and really brought out some great spice.
I loved the addition of Macy having diabetes, it was well represented and added a great dynamic to the story and both characters.
Overall, this was a good, quick read and Rae has left me very intrigued for the next book in this series.
Make Me Want It Too is the second book of the Make Me series by Rae Kennedy. The moment I got approved for this ARC, I could not wait to start on this book. Wood and Macy's side story during the first book, Make Me Dream of You, was so nicely done that it got me really excited to read their story and boy, did it not disappoint. The love story of Wood and Macy was beautiful and so heartwarming. I always like romance books that makes me root for the couple. Wood is your typical cinnamon roll MMC who's been secretly pining for Macy for six years. He is the most attentive, sweet, sexy and loving boyfriend and he is just so perfect for Macy. Macy's been in a long six-year relationship with somebody who doesn't see her worth and value, and to see her be worshiped by Wood was so satisfying. Wood is your true definition of down bad. She truly deserved it though. I also love that we got glimpses of Noah and Livvy's relationship as well, which is a continuation of the first book. It makes me want to read the third book only because I'm curious about what else is in store for Wood and Macy. I truly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting and I highly recommend. The only problem with Rae's books is that it seems to be cut short and I feel like there could be more. For example for this book, most of the it was about their time being fake boyfriend and girlfriend and I would've wanted for more pages to show their actual relationship. But other than that, this is such agreat read.
Thank you, NetGalley for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review. I will definitely be on the lookout for the application for an advanced copy for the third book.
Copy received from The Next Step PR. Voluntarily reviewing and all opinions are objective and my own.
After getting a taste of what Wood and Macy’s book would be about in book 1, I was so excited to get into this one, and it lived up to every hope for it! Longtime pining + friends to lovers is the ultimate trope and Macy and Wood’s story was so perfect. Add in the fake dating and this book was pure addiction. I loved the development of their romance, and how sweet Wood is especially compared to Spencer. Loved everything about them really. Noah and Livvy from book 1 makes lots of appearances so it’s enjoyable to see them still so much in love, and we’re given a taste of what and who book 3 will be about and I can’t wait! I’m definitely checking out this author’s other books.
Favourite Quote “Promise me that you won’t settle for anything less than being the center of someone’s world. Ever. Because that’s what you deserve.”
I completely fell in love with Wood in the last read, he was definitely the life of the party and even more the way he cares about all his friends. I was all for him and Macy, her relationship with Spencer was just not right, I didn't like him for her at all. When they broke up i was all smiles, this sweet girl deserves the love Wood would rain on her. Took her a bit to realize what she was actually worth and how she deserves to be treated. Damn this book had me all smiles! I really hope Bex gets a read next I need to know what happened there.
We've been watching these two since book one, just waiting for Wood to get a chance with Macy, and it was worth the wait! It may have started as fake dating, but watching her slowly realize what was right in front of her the whole dang time was refreshing. And Wood? Good grief, the man is so painfully, painfully fictionally perfect. The list at the end? Absolutely sent me! I will say, take the dedication to heart because she means it 🤣
Macy and Wood are the ultimate fake dating troupe. I absolutely love this couple! A he falls first, golden retriever (you’ll see why I used this reference eventually) boyfriend you can’t help but love. This is definitely one to skip your whole (never ending) TBR list and read first, I didn’t regret it one bit and I doubt anyone else will either! I love Rae Kennedy’s books but this one may have taken 1st place.
I enjoyed this story between Macy and Wood, as I previously hadn't read the first book it was easy to get into the story straight away without feeling I had missed out on anything story wise.
I liked the main characters, with Wood being the most charming, caring type of guy who puts his love interests first before anyone else.
Macy's character of having T1D was great at bringing what diabetes sufferers have to endure daily to everyone's attention and a welcomed storyline.
Kind of saw where this book was headed when reading it though.
The spice level in this was intense and when they finally got together it was a weird encounter for me. If you are not into ass play this book is not for you!
Overall I enjoyed it but I still felt something was missing from it.
4⭐️ Thank you NetGalley and Rake Publishing for an advanced copy of Make Me Want It Too.
Macy has just broken up with her boyfriend of six years and now she is the maid of honor for her best friend and her ex is the best man. Wood has been in love with Macy for years but she has only seen him as a friend until Wood offers to be her fake boyfriend for the wedding festivities. The lines between fake and real start to get blurred.
I enjoyed this book-fake dating, forced proximity, he falls first.
I really enjoyed this book. I can actually see this book becoming a movie!
This story follows Wood and Macey who pretend to be a couple for a friends wedding week. And we follow their week with fun activities and learning more about each other. I also really enjoyed the side characters. I believe they all brought the story together.
Make Me Want it Too would be in my opinion a fluffy romance where you can crawl up and read in a few hours 😍
Wood is the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC. He will do whatever needed to make Macey's life easier. Wood is Macey's date to her bff's wedding where her very recent ex is the best man. Not wanting pity she has Wood come with. Fake dating, one bed, it's always been you.
While the story is very cute, I just wish there was something more to the story. Overall very good. I hope Bex's story is next.
"To all my shy girlies who also like a little ass play" what a dedication! If I said this didn't grab my attention instantly, I'd be lying!
I thought I loved Noah and Livs story, but Wood and Macy are amazing, What chemistry! From the first page, I was hooked, and I couldn't put it down. The sweet, caring nature of Wood was sexy and the fact he was so smitten by Macy added to the dynamics of their developing relationship.
Now, back to the dedication, wow! What a scene! Let me tell you, when you read it, you will know exactly what I mean!
Thank you NetGalley, Rake Publishing and Rae Kennedy for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The same characters from Make Me Dream of You are in this - it’s not absolutely necessary to read that first although it was a good book and really helps to understand the relationships better so I would recommend it.
Macey and Wood are my favorite! Wood is such a golden retriever but not cheesy. Macey is someone so relatable and normal, feeling like an outsider in her own life.
This is a spicy book with explicit content and lots of swearing. I attempted to read this on a plane and found myself blushing more than normal at the thought of someone next to me reading these spicy scenes!
Make Me Want It Too by Rae Kennedy, is the second book in the Make Me Series, Macy Greene is a sweet and beautiful girl, she works as a gynecology nurse, specifically as a labor and delivery nurse, and she enjoys her work, since she was fourteen years old she has suffered diabetes and takes very good care of her and her diet, at the moment she is living with her boyfriend Spencer while she gets an apartment since although she has been with him for six years he does not believe that they should live together until they get married, but nothing that speaks of a life together. One night after work she goes to the party for the new house of her friend Bex and her boyfriend, Jake, who is Spencer's brother, but to which Spencer refuses to go, once there her friend announces that Jake proposed to her and they are going to get married in less than three months, this makes Macy think about her relationship and when she confronts her boyfriend he tells her that even after six years he is still not thinking about marriage, and in the middle of an argument the relationship ends, without having anywhere else to go, she goes to her friend Livvy, who lives with her boyfriend Noah and his cousin, and it's there where her best friend tells her that she will be the maid of honor at her marriage. And although she is happy and excited for her friend, she is apprehensive about what it will be like to spend that week near her ex and his family. Wade “Wood” Woodall is a handsome guy, charming, a party animal and never lacking in female company, but deep down he has always been in love with a girl, but since she is with another man, he has spent the last six years admiring her from afar and settling for their friendship, but when that relationship ends Wood, despite wanting to get closer to her, will do everything possible to make her feel good. When he finds out how nervous Macy is about going to the wedding festivities alone, he offers her a deal, they will pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend so she can enjoy this for her friend and her ex will leave her alone. In this way Wood shows Macy how she should be treated and the feelings between them go from friends to something more and although they are supposed to have an expiration date Macy will end up wanting this lie they created to become a reality and Wood will find a way to show Macy how much he wants a real chance. Another wonderful story by this author and with which I also fell in love. We meet again the group of characters we met in the previous book and learn about another beautiful love story between two of them. Macy is such a sweet girl and with whom I could identify, her relationship was toxic and although it seemed that she was happy, when she manages to see the relationship from the outside, she realizes how unhappy she was and how unappreciated, something that Wood is in charge of continually showing her how much she worth. Wood is charming, he made me swoon and of course we can't help but fall in love with this guy when he cares and treats Macy like the special being that she is. A charming story that you enjoy from start to finish, you definitely won't want to pass it up. Totally, and Absolutely Highly Recommended! *Thanks to Rae Kennedy and The Next Step PR for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

¡Total, y Absolutamente Totalmente Recomendada! *Gracias a Rae Kennedy y a The Next Step PR por mi ARC. Dejo voluntariamente mi reseña honesta*
Make Me Want It Too is the second book in the Make Me series and tells the story of Macy and Wood, who were side characters in Make Me Dream of You.
I loved Wood in Make Me Dream of You so I was excited to see where this story went as his unrequited love for Macy was obvious in that book and I was not disappointed.
Having spent six years in a relationship with Spencer where she was undervalued and shown no real affection I loved watching Macy’s self confidence grow throughout the story. Getting to know her backstory in regard to her family also helped explain why she just accepted never being anyone’s priority.
Macy being the maid of honour at her BFFs wedding to Spencer’s brother Jake gives Wood the perfect opportunity to step in and offer his assistance as Macy’s fake boyfriend during the week of pre-wedding activities.
Wood is the ultimate cinnamon roll MMC! He’s patient and caring, and went out of his way to learn Macy’s likes, dislikes and requirements in regards to her diabetes.
I love seeing real life issues mentioned in books, particularly when they’re done well, and having diabetes represented in Make Me Want It Too was a plus for me.
The other plus for me is seeing the characters from book one make regular appearances in this book, it definitely adds to the found-family feeling these stories have.
I really enjoyed Make Me Want It Too and it’s a great continuation of the series.
I’m really hoping Bex’s book is up next because I haven’t liked her in either book so I’m curious to read her story and see if she can turn things around.
“Promise me that you won’t settle for anything less than being centre of someone’s world. Ever. Because that’s what you deserve.”
- friends to lovers - he falls first - fake dating - only one bed - golden retriever hero
Talk about fucking adorable. I have loved Wood since the first book. That man is energetic, full of personality, and an all around fucking sweetheart. As much as I loved Wood's story, the first book is my favorite of the two. I was so excited to see cameos of Livvy and Noah.
This book centers around Wood and Macy. Wood has been not so secretly crushing on Macy for 6 years. Macy, of course, is clueless. After a breakup from her toxic boyfriend Spencer, Macy has to attend her best friends wedding who happens to be Spencer's brother. In order for her to cope going she makes a plan with Wood to fake date for the week.
Wood, I swear is boyfriend goals. I was swooning this whole book because that man feels with his whole heart and loves to care for his loved ones. Poor Macy has basically been neglected her whole life so her self worth isn't the greatest. But, man, can Wood make a girl feel like a queen!
I really connected with Macy and her thought process. The thought of trying to make yourself invisible as to not bother anyone or to not try much because the spotlight is too scary. So to see her finally feel seen by Wood made my heart beat faster. Also, to see her constant struggle with diabetes and the lengths she had to go through to keep it maintained was eye opening.
Spencer was a major dick. Top notch narcissist. Livvy and Bexs parents are also a shit show. I was waiting on baited breath for Spencer to get what was coming to him. Could not stand how he basically thought everything revolved around him. He never deserved Macy!
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC. Highly recommend you pick up this book....nay, the series!
4 ⭐ 2🌶️ tropes: Cinnamon roll mmc, fake dating, one bed
Make me want it too is the story of Macy, a diabetic L and D nurse, and Wood and security consultant and playboy because he can’t have the one woman he’s been pining for.
Right after Macy’s best friend gets engaged, Macy’s 6 year relationship with Spencer ends because he has no real plans for moving forward. It’s obvious that he has not treated her well in their relationship which leaves her constantly on edge and second guessing herself. He has effectively destroyed her self esteem.
But now, because her BFF is marrying Spencer’s brother Macy will be forced to interact with him during the pre-wedding events. Enter Wood who has been in love with Macy for years to save the day. Like the ooey gooey cinnamon roll he is, he offers to pretend to be her boyfriend and shield her from any issues that might arise from being so close to Spencer for a week.
This book is hilarious! I want to be a part of this friend group soooooo badly and I love how Wood is so good at the snarky backhanded compliments when he’s standing up for Macy to Spencer and his family.
I did find it interesting that despite presenting himself as a cocky and self assured playboy, Wood seems to think he’s doing everything wrong with Macy- like for all his experience with women he doesn’t understand that women also cry when they’re happy.
This book was such a satisfying and enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley and Rake Books for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
6⭐️ Thank you NetGalley & RAKE publishing for this ARC! It is truly an honor to read Rae’s last two books early.
We left off in book one with Wood hardcore pining for his friend Macy. He fell HARD for her the moment he saw her at a frat party in college. Unfortunately for him, she connected with his ‘rival’, Spencer. Spencer neglected Macy for six years before she realized she didn’t deserve the emotionally abusive relationship. The only issue now is she has to attend her best friend’s wedding to Spencer’s brother, Jake, at their family estate… as the maid of honor… with no date. Wood sees an opportunity and offers up his fake dating services.
I did not think there would be a way to top Livvy & Noah’s story, but Rae blew it out of the water with this one. Mace doesn’t feel like she is worthy of Wood’s love and feels like a burden to everyone. Wood is such a simp for Mace and she doesn’t even realize it. I swear this man would walk miles in the pouring rain just to get 5 minutes with her.
You get plenty of Noah being ‘Noah’, so don’t worry if you’re missing out on that since finishing book one.
I CANNOT WAIT for Bex’s book. Holy cow her storyline and character arc in this book blew my mind.
I seriously love this cast of characters so insanely much, I don’t know what to do with my life until I get the next one.
