Princess Rosaline is not only exiled, but she must prepare for a coronation that will determine if a ring shall tie her down to a separate kingdom. As the moon, it is her responsibility to fulfill any needs the nation requires of her. Problems arise when she begins to welcome feelings forbidden by the monarchy. Yet, this matters little when she understands no other man besides Sebastian can incite such emotions from the future Queen. The sun expects her to follow him to success for his kingdom, but he seemingly forgot that there is no moon without her star.
Commander Sebastian is in a tough predicament, as his superior (and lifelong friend) is expected to sacrifice her livelihood for the kingdom. The question that keeps him up at night why the hell does he care if she gets betrothed? Deep down he knows it has little to do with why but rather, why isn’t it to him? The stoic and reserved princess starts trying to communicate with him, making him question the truth behind the crown she wears. She’s always been as far as the moon and never within his grasp, but this changes everything— his loyalty is not with Galaonnor, it is with Rosaline alone.
This is the love story between Rosaline and Sebastian, a pair who waited out their friendship to protect the other. With secrets, tension, and long-awaited confessions, join them as you enter the world of Galaonnor, the exiled kingdom from the main 10.
This is about the moon and her star, a love story that shouldn't happen for many reasons.
Edith is an aspiring Mexican-American author who loves deeply. Previously, she was a modern romance author who slowly fell in love with fantasy. Combining the two genres, she created her debut book, "Long Live the Queen."
ARC reviewer! Thank you to the author, Edith, for trusting me with your debut novel.
Princess Rosaline Michaelson is exiled from the other kingdoms, has elemental magic that she has not yet learned to control, is engaged to a man that she doesn’t love, and possibly in love with her hot commander who also might be in love with her. Her parents died under mysterious circumstances which lead to her being blamed and thusly exiled. She loves her kingdom and wants to be the best queen she can be for them. With her coronation around the corner, she must make sure her people stay safe, especially Commander Sebastian Tudor. Danger is brewing and even with the help of her betrothed, Prince Elliot, they might not be able to prove Rosaline’s innocence and reverse whatever damage was done.
This book is different from other romantasy novels. It is written well and I enjoy all of the banter between Roseline and Sebastian. Add this to your TBR for something a little different, while still being that comfort romantasy genre.
“Long Live The Queen” was a book that I had first discovered on TikTok one day by scrolling and upon discovering that it was an author’s debut novel, of course I had to support them! It has been over a month since I started following their journey and today, the book was released on Kindle Unlimited where I eagerly read the book, hoping to devour a new Romantasy book.
While I finished the book, I would not say that it was the smoothest read. Since this was a debut novel, I did not expect the prose and diction to be on the same level as that of a seasoned veteran, however, there were numerous instances where I feel that the author could have taken an extra step to better their descriptions despite being a new writer.
“She’s left staring at a white crystal with a rose and a moon carved into it. Her two favorite things and Sebastian was able to combine them both to create a gift for her.”
Personally, I feel like there could have been so much more done to this sentence to make it more impactful. This gift was from her knight, Sebastian. A character who is clearly attracted towards our main character, Rosaline. This gift was obviously a gift that he had thought of with her in mind, so by describing it as plainly as that it was a ‘white crystal with a rose and a moon carved into it’, it doesn’t feel as magical or romantic.
For one, crystals can come in many shapes and sizes, so it would have been nice to see some sort of clarification as to what the crystal looked like. Perhaps it was square? A diamond? A sphere? The options are endless! Another thing I would do would be to add more than just describing it as a ‘white’ crystal. Perhaps there was some gray marbling into the crystal, perhaps it was a clear crystal, or perhaps it was opaque. All of these aspects add to the magic and loveliness of their relationship. Maybe Sebastian chose white because Rosaline was born on a full moon and because her magic was white.
Moving on, the sentence following the description feels choppy and it doesn’t transition well. [. . . and a moon carved into it. Her two favorite things . . .] This choppiness was something that recurred throughout the novel and it truly ruins a reader’s flow. Another example would be when the author writes:
“‘It is rumored that the Vivia Kingdom becomes relatively hot at night, causing fire to be impossible to put out.’”
This one confused me because I wasn’t sure whether the author was trying to say that come nighttime, fires in Vivia Kingdom are impossible to put out or if in the Vivia Kingdom, inextinguishable fires spread throughout the land. I’m still not sure.
The following sentence after this one reads:
“‘Next thing you know, watch them control the fire?’ Cecil laughs . . .”
While I do understand what the author was trying to write, it just doesn’ grammatically make sense. If it was part of the character to have broken language, then it wouldn’t be an issue, however, Cecil is seen to have a non-broken way of speaking.
Not too long after, there is a grammar error that reads:
“‘A fire-controlling prince?’ she repeats, tilting her head. Owlishly as her fingers tap . . .”
I was glad that I got a digital copy of this book because if I got a physical copy, I know that I would be more upset about the error seeing as real books cost a lot of money these days. I’m not sure if the author is self-published or not, however, these errors do take out of the experience of reading books and it doesn’t make a good impression on the reader.
** Just so others know, the quotes that I just pointed out all occurred within the first thirty or so pages of the book, so these errors being in the beginning doesn’t really motivate a reader to continue with the book.
I really wanted to love this book, I really did, but there have been multiple instances where I wanted to put down the book because it just didn’t stir my imagination. I will say that the idea behind the book is creative and that the plot itself is thought out very well, but I just wish that the execution of these ideas were done better to get me in the atmosphere of the story.
I look forward to more of the author’s works and I hope to see them grow as both a writer and person :)

Princess Rosaline, exiled and facing a crucial coronation, struggles with forbidden feelings for her lifelong friend, Commander Sebastian, in a world where magic is banned. As she grapples with her hidden powers and the pressures of her role, Sebastian finds himself conflicted about her impending betrothal to another, realizing his true loyalty lies with her. Their deepening bond, fraught with secrets and unspoken emotions, challenges their long-standing friendship and tests their resolve against the backdrop of royal duty and hidden truths.
The author has written a beautiful romantsy with a friends-to-lovers theme. Rosaline is a strong and resilient character. The chemistry between her and Sebastian is both intense and authentic. I particularly loved how Sebastian’s care for Rosaline is demonstrated through his small, meaningful acts, which adds to their relationship. The more the story went on the more intense it became all the way until the end, I could not put it down. This was also well written and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
girl....... right so i remember hearing about a possible stigma around indie authors reviewing each other's books or whatever, MAN DO I FUCKING CARE?? NUH UH i loved this a lot, i was a little lost with the pacing sometimes and i DID get confused more than once, but i definitely blame that on the way i read the book (i didn't have the time to read it in one sitting, i have to read it across multiple weeks which is STUPID but oh well). some other times i was confused because of the names lmao uh.....that's just bc i was having memory issues bc of my health, but honestly i was staring at the page when i read "caspian" bc who is that guy
ANYWAYS all of this to say that i loved this book, Edith ate with Rosaline and Elliot's relationship progressing more and more, Sebastian i would lick his toes (Rosaline i would eat her UPPPP) I LOVE FEMALE RAGE NO MATTER HOW SUBTLE IT IS IM SO EXCITED TO SEE MORE OF ROSALINE BEING A MENACE IN AHTQ
oh and those fake ass characters who turned on Rosaline? im coming for you

In this first book, we delve into the life of Princess Rosaline, uncovering the reasons behind her exile from the ten main kingdoms. We follow her struggle to control her forbidden magic and at the same time witness her growing feelings for her childhood friend, Commander Sebastian. A classic friends to lovers trope, which isn’t usually my favorite, but in LLTQ I really enjoyed Rosaline’s and Sebastian’s banter and tension! Interestingly, I haven't seen anyone mention this, but while reading, I envisioned the world and characters with an anime/manga vibe, which I absolutely adored!"
Something I really enjoy in the books I read are the funny friend characters and this is exactly what we got with Axel 🫶🏼!! Also, I have to mention Elliot... His lines were 🔥🔥🔥.
I deducted a couple of stars because there were moments in the book where the transitions between scenes were unclear, making it difficult to follow the storyline. I found myself needing to flip back to understand the context.
Nonetheless I enjoyed this read and am looking forward to book 2!! Especially with that cliff hanger 👀!!
Thank you so much to the author for allowing me to have an ARC of her debut novel. 🥰

"A royal is prohibited from falling in love and shall never know romantic feelings"
Long live the queen is a romantasy story revolving around exiled princess Rosaline Michaelson and her best friend and Commander Sebastian Tudor. This isn’t the typical romantasy novel. If you love a bitter-sweet friends to lovers story this might be just for you. The Banter between Roseline and Sebastian is well written and lovable. The story is takes you away to a whole new world with a intriguing magic system and a lot of secrets and cursus to discover.
This book wasn’t bad by any means, but I have to say it was just not for me. The story is well written and I know a lot of people will like it. The book felt for me more like a YA with steam than a romantasy because of the way it was written.
Let me start with the fact that I really did enjoy this book. It was a really good book. I gave it 3 stars because there were times when I simply got lost as I was reading. It felt like one minute they were in one place, and the very next line, they were somewhere else.
Overall, the story was good. I picked up Elsa and Anna from Frozen vibes.. maybe a combo storytelling?
There's elemental magic and there's forbidden love. There's banter and sexual tension. Its cute.
I'm not sure if this is meant to be series as there were a lot of holes left in the story. It also felt a little rushed towards the end. Which is funny because I'd describe the beginning as slow burn.
We get maybe one chapter answering about 1/3 of the questions we've had the entire book. I was left wanting more... more of a reason? More background storyline? I dont know...
Anyway, I liked Sebastian, but for me, Elliot was really the one. The support, his understanding, the way he has Rosaline's back! It's everything! Sebastian made irrational and stupid decisions that appeared as though he had her back, and really it just hurt Rosaline and her image as Queen.
I loved seeing her transition though.... from quiet and reserved to a full blown bad ass!
Sebastian: "I live for you, Princess, the same way you live for your people.
He shrugs like his life is meaningless compared to hers."
Rosaline: "Then live for me"
Me: 🤭☺️😍
This book is full of so many romantic moments. As a hopeless romantic, I thoroughly enjoyed each and every part. The blushing, complementing and even the longing glances. How do I get myself a Sebastian?
If you're a hopeless romantic too, this is for you!

Tear it out of my chest but allow me the privilege of looking at you when you do so.” Whew, what a powerful and awe striking quote-this book was full of them as the author created a magical, beautiful fantasy world. Rosaline of Galaonner, one of two Celestial Heirs, was exciled as a child yet still arranged to marry another heir. She is forced to choose between reigning over her kingdom or love. I was transported to Rosaline’s world…the descriptions of secret magic, the characters, the food, dress, activities were all well done. This story was told in third person point of view from several characters. It ended on an action packed cliffhanger which is expected for a fantasy series! This one releases June 29. Thank you to Booked With The Emily’s and the author for my early copy. All opinions are my own.
Arc review.. There's good and bad here. But mostly I was confused and kinda lost in the reading, it sounds so good and beautiful. But didn't hit the mark for me.
Hey ❤️ First of all thank you very much for given me this opportunity to be your ARC Reader🥰 Now to the review itself , I liked it , it had lovely sweet love , emersive magical powers specifically referencing to the moon which simply hits home for me , secrets and intrigue and of cource love story 😍🥰 Sebastian is a gentelmen and hero every woman deserve 🥰Political incline is not my personal cup of tea but in this book its written well ❤️ I enjoyed it 😊
Thank you to the author for letting me read your debut novel!
I don't usually tend to explore the fantasy genre but this book has shown me a new world full of emotions and a new perspective. This story is based on an exiled princess Rosaline Michaelson who faces many adversities even though she is portrayed as an independent woman who is willing to fight to defend her kingdom and herself. However, despite being an independent and powerful woman, she finds herself in a forbidden love with her friend and lifelong companion Commander Sebastian Tudor. If you are a fan of Friends to Lovers, this book is for you! This love story is unique and especially, being so close but yet so far from each other, you can feel the tension miles away! Despite the love story, this book mentions different situations/traumas that Princess Rosaline has encountered throughout her life which makes it more unique and special.
Something I loved about this story was the love and respect Sebastian feels for Rose, knowing that he is always there to take care of her and make her feel understood is a demonstration of love and respect towards her. For someone who tends to overthink everything, having that constant reassurance can have a huge impact on their life!
This a lovely book, the story is well written and it's full of emotions and epic moments... I can't wait to see what's next!
Some of my favorite quotes: "Her skin is glowing under the moonlight, prettily and distractingly"
"Her love for him is deadly"
"I don't give a damn about Vivia when you're bleeding, Rosaline. Who did this to you?"
"He pulls her closer, water splashing slightly. We cannot love one another because of the monarchy yet the monarchy, yet the monarchy cannot witness this, can they? This is our secret"
"You drive me mad. I need you in ways I cannot explain or comprehend. Seeing you smile at him... you dony know what it does to me."
“Thanks to @bookedwiththeemilys @authoredithcsotelo for the #gifted copy of this book.”
Rating 3.75⭐️
"Please do not push me away. I am loyal to you, and not just because I'm your knight."
Summary: Long Live the Queen is a book involving Princess Rosaline and her knight, Commander Sebastian. Despite their closeness, she has kept a secret from him for the past decade. Magic is forbidden in all ten kingdoms, with Rosaline being a sorceress herself, alongside the rest of the monarchy. Chaos ensues when the truth of magic is revealed, bringing back the memories that expose her parent’s deaths. With all these secrets in the public eye, how will the future Queen react when the boy she grew up with begins treating her the way a lover would? Can these two welcome their newly developed feelings that once were platonic? She is the moon and he will forever be her star, this is the journey of a royal trying to ensure her kingdom’s safety, all while falling for a boy from childhood. (Thanks to Booked with the Emilys for the summary)
Thoughts: This book took me completely by surprise. Although there were moments while reading that I was a little confused and lost as to how we got from point A to B, overall I enjoyed this story. Sebastian, of course, turned this book around for me when I finally got to his chapter. His pov was a little easier to understand, especially since he wore all his emotions on his sleeve. The way he cared for Rosaline just had me grinning from ear to ear, whether it was kind words or forcing her to eat something. Rosaline is so strong for all she endured throughout her childhood, yet she still wants what is best for her people. Lastly, I loved the friendship and support for one another between Rosaline and Elliot, King of Vivia. That ending, though. Phew, well I hope Book 2 isn't far off.

Book Review: Long Live Princess Rosaline (soon to be Queen)! Princess Rosaline is our FMC, and she was essentially exiled at a young age and prepared herself for her coronation to be Queen. Who doesn’t love a good romantasy? Edith writes a story about a princess who is yet to figure out her magic. She is to be bethrothed to someone she does not care for. It sounds like our typical princess royalty setup, right? Not entirely! Emotions don’t seem to be at the top of the list in this kingdom! Especially not if you want to rule. This is something that Princesss Rosaline has to put on the back burner if her plan is to be a part of her kingdom that she cares about. She and her commander have feelings that are unfolding throughout this story. They are both doing their best to supress as much of it as they can, but can they hide from the truth? She was exiled at a young age because she was essentially blamed for her parents' deaths. Can they prove that Princess Rosaline has anything to do with her parents' demise? This book is definitely slow, and if that’s not your jam, then this book might not be for you. However, it does pick up. I don’t mind a slow beginning as long as it starts to pick up. As I mentioned, it does, and so it didn’t bother me so much. I enjoyed the friends to lovers and forbidden romance tropes in this story. It’s definitely up my alley that I enjoy reading when it comes to romantasies. I enjoyed this book. I wish that the rules of the kingdom were explained more thoroughly. I feel like there were certain parts of their background that confused me a bit, but I think I was able to piece them together by the end of the story. I want to see how the next book goes and where it takes us. Overall, it’s definitely a book that I would read again.
It's been a really long time since I've read a fantasy book, and what a way to get back into it!
I was captivated by this whole new world of magic and love with secrets and curses, learning alongside Rosaline what the truth is and what happened in her childhood.
"A royal is prohibited from falling in love and shall never know romantic feelings"
The obvious power imbalance between Princess (soon to be Queen) Rosaline Michaelson of Gallaonnor and Commander Sebastian Tudor - despite their friendship of 12 years- just adds to the internal conflict that Rosaline experiences. Both try to convince themselves they are just friends despite their obvious feelings toward each other.
"Is falling in love… truly that deadly?"
The fighting against admitting her feelings because she cannot seem to put herself first, dealing with the lasting physical and emotional impact of her childhood. She has a horrible relationship with food and her weight because of her parents. All while still having to rule her Kingdom and protect them from harm.
The more I read, the more intense the story got, especially in the last few chapters, keeping me hooked and unable to stop reading.
The magical fantasy world created by this book has taken me back to my childhood and the books I enjoyed reading then, providing me the perfect escape from reality.
If you're a fan of swoonworthy romance, "Long Live the Queen" is a must-read! Edith C. Sotelo brings to life the enchanting love story of Queen Rosaline and her loyal Knight, Commander Sebastian.
The slow burn in this friends-to-lovers fantasy romance is simply exquisite, making every stolen moment between them feel incredibly special.
Queen Rosaline is a strong FMC, having endured hardship at a young age and being forced to hide her magic powers in a realm where magic is forbidden. Her strength and leadership shine through, making her an inspiring character to root for.
And then there's Sebastian, the ultimate book boyfriend! He's sweet, protective, witty, and utterly devoted to his Queen. His loyalty and unwavering love for Rosaline are truly endearing, making him the greenest flag of them all.
From their tentative beginnings to the blossoming of their love, "Long Live the Queen" is a beautifully crafted tale that will keep you wanting more.
The chemistry between Rosaline and Sebastian is palpable, and their journey from friends to lovers is both heartwarming and satisfying.
Thank you, Partner @bookedwiththeemilys and @authoredithcsotelo for a #gifted copy of this book.
I definitely enjoyed this book! I loved the forbidden love aspect of the story and there were certainly many quotable lines all throughout the story. I loved watching the story of Rosaline and Sebastian unfold in the way that it did. The storyline flowed naturally and the tension from a long standing "will they, won't they" was palpable on the page. I think the characters and magic system were well fleshed out and the magic system felt easy to grasp.
I would love if there was a diagram of some sort to show who everyone is! That would be such a fun edition. I would also LOVE if in the next book we have a diagram or map of some sort depicting who is who in the realm and who rules in what region for two reasons. First, I love me a map and second, I had a hard time picturing where people were at times.
This is a long book so be prepared with some scones, tea, and time.
She's the Queen, he's her commander. They've been friends since childhood. Rosaline has been taught to not fall in love, especially with a commoner. What do they do when they realize that their feelings are more than just friendship?
But, Rosaline has secrets. Secrets she has kept from Sebastian and secrets she has kept from her kingdom. When those secrets are revealed, will he continue to stand by her? Will her kingdom?
I loved the way Sebastian cares for Rosaline. It wasn't big grand gestures, it was the small little things that made me love him. Rosaline showed her feelings in small ways as well. They wanted to fight their feelings but they couldn't fight the pull towards one another.
Princess Rosaline of Gallaonnor and Commander Sebastian Tudor have been friends since childhood. Rosaline trusts Sebastian but the duty of being a Princess, soon to be Queen, childhood traumas, and secrets keep her at arms distance from him.
However, Sebastian is the man everyone dreams of meeting. We all want a Sebastian Tudor fairy tale romance!
When the curse is discovered my heart broke for them. I really wanted Sebastian to have his HEA! Rosaline's growth throughout the book was empowering for her and everyone in the kingdom.
The entire book was beautifully written and such a great fantasy read!
I made it about 25% into this book and had to DNF. I don't know if it was the mood I was in or the font of the book or what, but I just could not get into this book. I felt like the writing was all over the place, I had no idea what was going on and I just was not interested in reading it. It felt like I was finding anything else to do besides read this book. I may come back to it in the future, but for right now it is a DNF for me.
Thank you @bookedwiththeemilys for the #gifted copy of this book and for allowing me to be a part of this book tour.
Princess Rosaline Michaelson, loves her kingdom and wants to be best queen she can be. We follow her struggle with controlling her forbidden magic. And her feelings for Commander Sebastian Tudor. I loved how Sebastian cared for Rosaline. It was giving friends to lovers. I fell in love with both of them their chemistry was amazingly intense but that banter tension had me loving and enjoying it soo much more. I couldn’t put it down. I just wanted more and more. It was beautifully written. That cliff hanger… I cannot wait for book 2.
Thank you to the author and Booked with Emilys for the gifted e-book.
I signed up to review this book as it sounded interesting. Overall, I found the parts of the book to be engaging. The characters Rosaline and Sebastian were particularly interesting, and the development of their relationship was well written. However, I did encounter some challenges in following the story at certain points. Despite this, I appreciate the author's dedication to creating a romantic fantasy.
i want a sebastian in my life 😍 i was able to arc read this book filled with tension and steamy moments between rosaline and sebastian! these moments made me crave so much more, that ending? come ON.
edited & longer review: princess rosaline and commander sebastian are friends who clearly have feelings but cannot come forward. she has secret magic and he is a commoner, with truths they must learn to speak out loud. everyone knows, everyone besides each other. navigating through their everyday lives becomes difficult when their desire to love out loud grows.
The best way to describe this book is if you were to take Mary, Queen of Scotts from Reign and The Duke of Hastings from Bridgerton, and you put both of them together in a book Rosaline is passionate, determined and the way she speaks about love and her kingdom reminded me of Mary. Sebastian has a way with his words, just like the Duke. When he describes his love for Rosaline, it's poetic and swoon worthy 🥺 I was completely captivated by their forbidden romance. I loved reading about the world building, magical powers, and watching them confess their love for each other. They even get matching tattoos to show that they belong to each other 🌙⭐️ just when you think the story will have a happy ending that's when the story takes a dark turn at the end, which I did not see coming 😭 overall, I loved this book and couldn't get enough of it.
Thank you, @authoredithcsotelo , for giving me the opportunity to read and review your arc 🖤
There were things to like about this book but also it was kind of confusing. I wish this world was better fleshed out especially with the rules the monarchy has to follow, why only monarchs have magic, and why a 10 year old Princess was exhiled just because it was thought she had a hand in the deaths.
On one hand, I'm glad we didn't have to get a lot of info with her parents. In the flashbacks, they are vile and cruel.
I'm so glad she had Sebastian at her side. I did like watching them fall in love but it hurt that doing so made THEM hurt (literally).
Okay, so I have not dabbled with fantasy too much, but I liked how this one wasn’t afraid of trying to go after something “different.” There weren’t any dragons or fairies, instead the ones with magic were ordinary humans.
It did have a change in pace during the story and it confused me a bit, but ultimately, I enjoyed it. I had NO idea what to expect.
Rosaline’s character is flawed because she allows herself to be consumed by emotions. Sebastian’s character is flawed because he prioritizes Rosaline over himself. They’re in this endless cycle that no matter what, one of them will get hurt.
The idea that her parents were involved with her curse, Lover’s Dismay, (which is a phenomenal name by the way?) and contributed to ensuring her memories from childhood are erased had me shocked. Not as much as the reveal of who betrayed the kingdom, but shocked because that is their literal child.
“My dear knight” is such a sweet nickname. I feel it gets overshadowed with her calling him her North Star, but seeing the difference in her tone with Sebastian was sooooo nice. Don’t even get me started on “My pretty Rose” because I highlighted it the second I read it!
At first, I was wondering why the book was so long, and now I’m wondering when I can keep reading this series. I am worried about what Rosaline will do next, especially since she is focusing on a much larger task in mind.
The author has potential and I’m very excited to see what she writes next!
I've been craving a book that actually gives royalty vibes and I have finally found it with Long Live The Queen!! This is a solid 4 star read for me. As I'm making my way through different fantasy books this year, I'm realizing that I love fantasy books that feel comforting and the vibes of this one definitely felt comforting. Although a little more gruesome in one or two parts then I was expecting 😂 But I watch horror movies obsessively so nothing I can't handle!
Rosaline's story and the magic system were so interesting! I definitely want to go through and reread some parts to make sure I understood things - especially the ending because so much was happening!
Rosaline and Sebastian are so so cute together. I'm not normally a huge lover of the friends to lovers trope but this one had the forbidden element to it which also helped with the royal vibes I was feeling.
I was constantly on edge trying to guess who was a traitor and who we could trust and it was so fun! I'm happy to report I was able to pick out a bad guy 😂
I didn't mind the story being told from 3rd person but I do want to buy the book and see what the format is like since the arc format made it a little confusing to know who was talking at times but it still wasn't that difficult. All in all LLTQ was a very fun read and I look forward to checking out more from this author!!
Thank you to Booked with the Emily’s and the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
This fantasy had a lot of tropes and aspects that I love. Different Kingdoms, magic, curses, forbidden love and an FMC that has a higher rank than the love interest. It was descriptive and I got a good sense of the characters emotions and the action scenes had great suspense. The banter and romance were well written with slow burn tension. The world building was a little slow at the beginning for me but I still loved the magic system and what the curse meant for the couple was interesting. The end was fast paced and cleared a lot of world building questions I had. I am interested to see what happens if there is a sequel
