You think you already know all there is to know about Vanessa? You don't know the half of it.
Brace yourself for the achingly funny, deeply moving untold story: the behind-the-scenes lowdown on the parents who planned her wedding before she could walk, how she became the nation's second-most-famous fat person, life as the British Oprah, feuding with Madonna and Miss Piggy aboard the Big Breakfast bed, an excruciatingly public divorce, gruesome gastric band surgery, a sixteen-year skirmish with an ageing boybander and finding herself shockingly single at sixty-one.
She's spent thirty-five years in the public eye and now, for the first time, Vanessa seizes her chance to set the record straight in this warm, witty, intensely human story. She spares no one's blushes, including her own. How could someone so clever make such cataclysmic mistakes?
Vanessa's often wrong, but always relatable. She puts the 'Oh my goodness, I can never unread that paragraph!' into celebrity autobiography.
Vanessa Bares all is the 'does what it says on the tin' honest and often laugh out loud funny autobiography of Vanessa Feltz.
From her early years where her mother was sadly obsessed with her weight, via University and onto our TV screens and radios, Vanessa canters through her life at pace. There are plenty of candid name drops and a few surprising anecdotes along the way. Told through short chapters, this is an immersive read and is hugely enjoyable including Celebrity Big Brother, the Big Breakfast and her many TV and radio shows. I've always been relatively vanilla about Vanessa, but this gave an insight into someone who is ferociously bright and has a big heart to match a big personality.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Vanessa and it is thoroughly enjoyable and having her read the text probably adds an extra richness.
A complete page turner from the start. Vanessa has endured so much within her marriage and subsequent relationships. I have laughed out loud and cried as well as I read this eloquently written biography. I have had to refer to my dictionary on more than one occasion to see what the words mean! Vanessa is well educated and I have adored this blooming good read. I have nothing but sheer admiration for this remarkable lady. Many thanks for such a brilliant read.
A very open, honest and raw autobiography about family, career, her weight struggles and relationships. Always thought Vanessa to be a bright, intelligent and hardworking lady- this book confirms this. Listened on audiobooks and narrated by the author ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.5 / 5
Vanessa Feltz outlines her life to date including her Jewish background, her struggles with her weight, her relationships and last but no means least her career in journalism and broadcasting. Couldn't put it down!
Absolute top shelf hun culture content. Easy listening audiobook, the irony of my own Mother being a "just why haven't you lost weight? Why are you so fat?" Was not lost, so that theme running throughout the authors life hit a bit of a nerve 🙃🫣. Easy to forget just how long a career VF so far has had, wild stories of all kinds of celebrities told.
4.5*. I enjoyed this book. I wasn’t sure I would. It was honest and funny in places. I’m confused to why she put up with one hit wonder all those yrs when probably advising people to leave that kind of relationship.
Vanessa is a very entertaining and self deprecating author. I could really relate to her relationship experiences and thought she dealt with an obviously painful subject frankly and honestly. An enjoyable read.
This is a fabulous read . I’m a couple of years older but I can resonate with all her experiences. I love her candidness. A very bright lady who has been treated badly
With her writing as exuberant as her personality it's a compelling, fast paced and fascinating read. Her parents are certainly responsible for her eating disorder and lack of self respect/esteem.
An honest autobiography by Vanessa. Struggles with her weight and love life. I thought she was a good sport on Little Britain. I wish her all the best.
