Gwen Campbell got her start in the magazine industry, writing everything from news stories to children’s fiction to obituaries. When the company she worked for succumbed to economic turndown, she looked at her bank book and gave herself one year to pursue writing full time. The deal was if she made money, she didn’t have to look for a real job. It’s worked out pretty good so far and she still doesn’t have a real job.
A life-long believer in romance, she now writes romantic fiction. Gwen is married and she and her husband contribute the success of their relationship to making a point of saying “I love you,” at least once a day, sometimes saying, “Yes, dear,” just because, and making sure the toilet paper always comes over the top of the roll.
She says her best sticky-plot resolutions come to her while dog walking.

This was a great story with an awesome cast of characters that you just can’t help fall in love with. You have loss, lust and love weave that up in a story plot that holds your attention from the first page to the last and you have a winner.
I’m not going to give spoilers but you will fall for this threesome and love the dynamics they each play into making it work. You feel Fina’s pain at her loss of all she holds dear. You also feel her determination to make things work for Ryan sake. She is a strong and smart woman and shows it in many ways throughout the book. It’s when she meet Cutler and Nate that things change for her she has to find her place in the new pack and hey it helps having two very sexy brothers on your side. The sex scenes are well written in fact the whole book is and you will fan yourself a few times and raise an eyebrow once or twice. I will defiantly be on the lookout for more books from this author.

I really enjoyed this first installment of "The Western Wolves".
It is a well written story that jumps right off with lots of action and develops into the amazing tale of Fina Whitesage, the daughter of an Alfa and her journey through horrific loss and the struggle of finding her place again amongst a new pack where she meets Cutler, the Alfa and his brother Nate, the Beta, both of whom see her as their mate! There is an interesting twist to how they work this out....
I found that the large cast of characters are well developed and the story itself held my attention to the end with a whole range of emotions from heart breaking sadness, to laughter and very Erotic romance. A Brilliant start to this collection of "The Western Wolves".

When she walks in on the slaughter of her family, Fina's first instinct is to run but she is forcibly taken by a rogue pack and looking for a way to escape. Fina gets a chance to run, she also finds the only other survivor of her pack a little boy who she takes in as hers. Finding herself in Wyoming where she meets Alpha of a pack.

Sheriff Cutler realizes the protective young woman filled with spirit is his mate. However once he realizes who she is, he knows she needs time and space to accept him as her mate. He never expected though that introducing her to his brother Nath, that he would be sharing his mate.

Loved this one, it was raw in a few spaces as you see the horrific treatment of Fina. Nath is the charmer but cutler has a very raw magnetism that draws you in. Can't wait to read more in this series.

I have three words for this book, Hot, Sexy and Unbelivable. Fina loses all that she holds dear to her In one horrible night. Being the daughter of an Alpha she knows how to be strong when needed and finding young Ryan, a friends son that has been left orphaned. She and Ryan make their way into the world of Cutler, an Alpha, and his brother Nath, his Beta. The hot and steamy in the story are when the brothers decide that Fina is the mate to both of them. The unbelievable is the journey this book will take you on. I can't wait for more from this author.

REVIEW
I have to say this was one very hot and sexy book.

As I no longer want to give much away when writing a review. Let me say This book is about wolves / shifters. You get your female who is strong and goes through hell when a rogue pack kills her entire family and pack and rapes and brutalizes her in the process. A small boy Ryan she also now has to protect he was the Beta of her packs son. Enter 2 sexy brothers. 1 is Cutler a town sheriff and Alpha to the pack and his brother Nath his beta. It turns out both see Fina as their mate.

Can they both share Fina?
Can she ever trust enough to love again?or feel worth of love?
Will they seek revenge on the Rogue Pack?

The book is well written and the characters are strong. I thoroughly enjoyed this book

I received this as a complimentary copy from Ellora’s Cave

Fina Whitesage comes home unannounced from college to find her pack murdered. As she makes her way to safely after they attacked her she see a little boy waiting to go to school, she takes him with her and they seek a hiding place away from those who killed her pack.

Sheriff Cutler Powell is the Alpha of a little place where Fina and Ryan stop and little does she know the Alpha is her mate but so is his brother Nathaniel. Together they swear to keep Fina and Ryan safe from the rouge pack that slaughtered Fins's family and pack.

This story was a great read because it showed the emotional side of the characters and what they go through the loss of their families. What the female character feels during her struggle to come to terms with what happened and finding her mates plus raising Ryan.

This was a great read and because of some sexual content it is for mature paranormal readers. Action, drama, romance and love are all in this book.
I give this book 5 stars out of 5.

This book is also under the title 'When a Pack Dies'. However, when I went to review it on Amazon, I couldn't find it under either of these titles. I'm not sure why it isn't available anymore but if someone knows where they are sold, please let me know as I would really like to get the next ones in the series. This author can really write!!!

I enjoyed reading this book a ridiculous amount. Gwen writes about some serious issues in a very sensitive way. I thought the h got over things a bit quickly but I'm not a werewolf so who knows. LOL

Good luck tracking down this book. You won't regret the search if you find it! Now, I have not been able to find the next two books in the series about Owen 'Pack's Broken Heart' and Helen 'Pack of Her Own'.

The first book in a new werewolf romance series is a thrilling read. Challenges by other females in the pack who don’t want to accept Fina as the Alpha female of not one but two of their men add lots spicy action to the story. The author also surprises the reader with a few twist the reader doesn’t see coming and I was totally caught up in the story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A good plot. However, does not show good understanding of post rape sexuality. Those that have an issue with this will find it a bit.. off putting. Something like this should have a blurb at the end with a rape crisis hotline.

Good and solid

This is a good and solid book. There are some problems. We seem to jump from problem to problem without any real explanation as how we got there.
